NOVEMBER 28

PSALMS: 28, 58, 88, 118, 148

PROVERBS: 28

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 4:1 - 5:19

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 2:13 - 3:6

PSALMS: 28

1 To you, LORD, I call.

My rock, don't be deaf to me;

Lest, if you are silent to me,

I would become like those who go down into the pit.

2 Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you,

When I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

3 Don't draw me away with the wicked,

With the workers of iniquity who speak shalom with their neighbors,

But mischief is in their hearts.

4 Give them according to their work,

and according to the wickedness of their doings.

Give them according to the operation of their hands.

Bring back on them what they deserve.

5 Because they don't regard the works of the LORD,

Nor the operation of his hands,

He will break them down and not build them up.

6 Blessed be the LORD,

Because he has heard the voice of my petitions.

7  The LORD is my strength and my shield.

My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped.

Therefore my heart greatly rejoices.

With my song I will thank him.

8 The LORD is their strength.

He is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

9 Save your people, and bless your inheritance.

Be their shepherd also, and bear them up forever.

PSALMS: 58

1 Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones?

Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?

2 No, in your heart you plot injustice.

You measure out the violence of your hands in the eretz.

3 The wicked go astray from the womb.

They are wayward as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

4 Their poison is like the poison of a snake;

Like a deaf cobra that stops its ear,

5 Which doesn't listen to the voice of charmers,

No matter how skillful the charmer may be.

6Break their teeth, God, in their mouth.

Break out the great teeth of the young lions, LORD.

7 Let them vanish as water that flows away.

When they draw the bow, let their arrows be made blunt.

8 Let them be as a snail which melts and passes away,

Like the stillborn child, who has not seen the sun.

9 Before your pots can feel the thorns,

He will sweep away, the green and the burning alike.

10 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance.

He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;

11 So that men shall say, "Most assuredly there is a reward for the righteous.

Most assuredly there is a God who judges the eretz."

PSALMS: 88

1 LORD, the God of my salvation,

I have cried day and night before you.

2 Let my prayer enter into your presence.

Turn your ear to my cry.

3 For my soul is full of troubles.

My life draws near to She'ol.

4 I am counted among those who go down into the pit.

I am like a man who has no help,

5 Set apart among the dead,

Like the slain who lie in the grave,

Whom you remember no more.

They are cut off from your hand.

6 You have laid me in the lowest pit,

In the darkest depths.

7  Your wrath lies heavily on me.

You have afflicted me with all your waves.

Selah.

8 You have taken my friends from me.

You have made me an abomination to them.

I am confined, and I can't escape.

9 My eyes are dim from grief.

I have called on you daily, LORD.

I have spread out my hands to you.

10 Do you show wonders to the dead?

Do the dead rise up and praise you? Selah.

11 Is your loving kindness declared in the grave?

Or your faithfulness in Destruction?

12 Are your wonders made known in the dark?

Or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

13 But to you, LORD, I have cried.

In the morning, my prayer comes before you.

14 LORD, why do you reject my soul?

Why do you hide your face from me?

15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up.

While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.

16 Your fierce wrath has gone over me.

Your terrors have cut me off.

17 They came around me like water all day long.

They completely engulfed me.

18 You have put lover and friend far from me,

And my friends into darkness.

PSALMS: 148

1 Praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD from the heavens!

Praise him in the heights!

2 Praise him, all his angels!

Praise him, all his host!

3 Praise him, sun and moon!

Praise him, all you shining stars!

4 Praise him, you heavens of heavens,

You waters that are above the heavens.

5 Let them praise the name of the LORD, ‘

For he commanded, and they were created.

6 He has also established them forever and ever.

He has made a decree which will not pass away.

7 Praise the LORD from the eretz,

You great sea creatures, and all depths!

8 Lightning and hail, snow and clouds;

Stormy wind, fulfilling his word;

9 Mountains and all hills;

Fruit trees and all cedars;

10 Wild animals and all cattle;

Small creatures and flying birds;

11 Kings of the eretz and all peoples;

Princes and all judges of the eretz;

12 Both young men and maidens;

Old men and children:

13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,

For his name alone is exalted.

His glory is above the eretz and the heavens.

14 He has lifted up the horn of his people,

The praise of all his holy ones;

Even of the children of Yisra'el, a people near to him.

Praise the LORD!

PROVERBS: 28

1 The wicked flee when no one pursues;

But the righteous are as bold as a lion.

2 In rebellion, a land has many rulers,

But order is maintained by a man of understanding and knowledge.

3 A needy man who oppresses the poor

Is like a driving rain which leaves no crops.

4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked;

But those who keep the law contend with them.

5 Evil men don't understand justice;

But those who seek the LORD understand it fully.

6 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity,

Than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich.

7 Whoever keeps the law is a wise son;

But he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.

8 He who increases his wealth by excessive interest

Gathers it for one who has pity on the poor.

9 He who turns away his ear from hearing the law,

Even his prayer is an abomination.

10 Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way,

He will fall into his own trap;

But the blameless will inherit good.

11 The rich man is wise in his own eyes;

But the poor who has understanding sees through him.

12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory;

But when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.

13 He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper,

But whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

14 Blessed is the man who always fears;

But one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

15 As a roaring lion or a charging bear,

So is a wicked ruler over helpless people.

16 The ruler who lacks judgment is a great tyrant.

One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.

17 A man who is tormented by life blood will be a fugitive until death;

No one will support him.

18 Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe;

But one with perverse ways will fall suddenly.

19 One who works his land will have an abundance of food;

But one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

20 A faithful man is rich with blessings;

But one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.

21 To show partiality is not good;

Yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.

22 A stingy man hurries after riches,

And doesn't know that poverty waits for him.

23 One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor

Than one who flatters with the tongue.

24 Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says,

"It's not wrong."

He is a partner with a destroyer.

25 One who is greedy stirs up strife;

But one who trusts in the LORD will prosper.

26 One who trusts in himself is a fool;

But one who walks in wisdom, he is kept safe.

27 One who gives to the poor has no lack;

But one who closes his eyes will have many curses.

28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves;

But when they perish, the righteous thrive.

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 4:1 - 5:19

4:1 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 2 "Speak to the children of Yisra'el, saying, 'If anyone sins unintentionally, in any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and does any one of them: 3 if the anointed Kohen sins so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin, which he has sinned, a young bull without blemish to the LORD for a sin offering. 4 He shall bring the bull to the door of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD; and he shall lay his hand on the head of the bull, and kill the bull before the LORD. 5 The anointed Kohen shall take some of the blood of the bull, and bring it to the Tent of Meeting. 6 The Kohen shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the veil of the sanctuary. 7  The Kohen shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tent of meeting; and he shall pour out all the blood of the bull out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting. 8 He shall take all the fat of the bull of the sin offering off of it; the fat that covers the innards, and all the fat that is on the innards, 9 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall take away, 10 as it is taken off of the ox of the sacrifice of shalom offerings. The Kohen shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.11 The bull's skin, all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, its innards, and its dung, 12 even the whole bull shall he carry forth outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. Where the ashes are poured out it shall be burned. 13 "'If the whole congregation of Yisra'el sins, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and are guilty; 14 when the sin in which they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bull for a sin offering, and bring it before the Tent of Meeting. 15 The Zakenim of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before the LORD; and the bull shall be killed before the LORD. 16 The anointed Kohen shall bring of the blood of the bull to the Tent of Meeting: 17 and the Kohen shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, before the veil. 18 He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the LORD, that is in the Tent of Meeting; and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting. 19 All its fat he shall take from it, and burn it on the altar. 20 Thus shall he do with the bull; as he did with the bull of the sin offering, so shall he do with this; and the Kohen shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven. 21 He shall carry forth the bull outside the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly. 22 "'When a ruler sins, and unwittingly does any one of all the things which the LORD his God has commanded not to be done, and is guilty; 23 if his sin, in which he has sinned, is made known to him, he shall bring as his offering a goat, a male without blemish. 24 He shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD. It is a sin offering. 25 The Kohen shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. He shall pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering.26 All its fat he shall burn on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of shalom offerings; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and he will be forgiven. 27 "'If anyone of the common people sins unwittingly, in doing any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and is guilty; 28 if his sin, which he has sinned, is made known to him, then he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has sinned. 29 He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill the sin offering in the place of burnt offering. 30 The Kohen shall take some of its blood with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar. 31 All its fat he shall take away, like the fat is taken away from off of the sacrifice of shalom offerings; and the Kohen shall burn it on the altar for a sweet savor to the LORD; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven. 32 "'If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish. 33 He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering. 34 The Kohen shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and all the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar. 35 All its fat he shall take away, like the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of shalom offerings; and the Kohen shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of the LORD made by fire; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.

5:1 "'If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn't report it, then he shall bear his iniquity. 2 "'Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean animal, or the carcass of unclean cattle, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he shall be guilty. 3 "'Or if he touches the uncleanness of man, whatever his uncleanness is with which he is unclean, and it is hidden from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be guilty. 4 "'Or if anyone swears rashly with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatever it is that a man might utter rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be guilty of one of these. 5 It shall be, when he is guilty of one of these, he shall confess that in which he has sinned: 6 and he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD for his sin which he has sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin offering; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning his sin. 7 "'If he can't afford a lamb, then he shall bring his trespass offering for that in which he has sinned, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, to the LORD; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering. 8 He shall bring them to the Kohen, who shall first offer the one which is for the sin offering, and wring off its head from its neck, but shall not sever it completely. 9 He shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering. 10 He shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the ordinance; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven. 11 "'But if he can't afford two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he shall bring his offering for that in which he has sinned, the tenth part of an efah of fine flour for a sin offering. He shall put no oil on it, neither shall he put any frankincense on it, for it is a sin offering. 12 He shall bring it to the Kohen, and the Kohen shall take his handful of it as the memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, on the offerings of the LORD made by fire. It is a sin offering. 13 The Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned in any of these things, and he will be forgiven; and the rest shall be the Kohen's, as the meal offering.'" 14 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 15 "If anyone commits a trespass, and sins unwittingly, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD, a ram without blemish from the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering. 16 He shall make restitution for that which he has done amiss in the holy thing, and shall add a fifth part to it, and give it to the Kohen; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and he will be forgiven. 17 "If anyone sins, and does any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done; though he didn't know it, yet he is guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. 18 He shall bring a ram without blemish from of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the Kohen; and the Kohen shall make atonement for him concerning the thing in which he sinned and didn't know it, and he will be forgiven. 19 It is a trespass offering. He is certainly guilty before the LORD."

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 2:13 - 3:6

2:13 He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them. 14 As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Halfai, sitting at the place of toll, and he said to him, "Follow me." And he arose and followed him. 15 It happened, that he was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Yeshua and his talmidim, for there were many, and they followed him. 16 The Sofrim and the Perushim, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his talmidim, "Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?" 17 When Yeshua heard it, he said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." 18 Yochanan's talmidim and the Perushim were fasting, and they came and asked him, "Why do Yochanan's talmidim and the talmidim of the Perushim fast, but your talmidim don't fast?" 19 Yeshua said to them, "Can the sons of the bride chamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can't fast. 20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day. 21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made. 22 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins." 23 It happened that he was going on the day of Shabbat through the grain fields, and his talmidim began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain. 24 The Perushim said to him, "Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the day of Shabbat?" 25 He said to them, "Did you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry -- he, and they who were with him? 26 How he entered into the house of God when Avyatar was Kohen Gadol, and ate the show bread, which it is not lawful to eat except for the Kohanim, and gave also to those who were with him?" 27  He said to them, "The Shabbat was made for man, not man for the Shabbat. 28 Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Shabbat."

3:1 He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had his hand withered. 2 They watched him, whether he would heal him on the day of Shabbat, that they might accuse him. 3 He said to the man who had his hand withered, "Stand up."

4 He said to them, "Is it lawful on the day of Shabbat to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?" But they were silent. 5 When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other. 6 The Perushim went out, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
