Genesis 1:1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

NOVEMBER 20

PSALMS: 20, 50, 80, 110, 140

PROVERBS: 20

OLD TESTAMENT: EXODUS 29:1 - 30:10

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 26:14 - 46

PSALMS: 20

1 May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble.

May the name of the God of Ya`akov set you up on high,

2 Send you help from the sanctuary,

Grant you support from Tziyon,

3 Remember all your offerings,

And accept your burnt-sacrifice. Selah.

4 May He grant you your heart's desire,

And fulfill all your counsel.

5 We will triumph in your yeshu`ah.

In the name of our God we will set up our banners:

The LORD fulfill all your petitions.

6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed.

He will answer him from his holy heaven,

With the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses,

But we trust the name of the LORD our God.

8 They are bowed down and fallen,

But we rise up, and stand upright.

9 Save, LORD;

Let the King answer us when we call!

PSALMS: 50

1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks,

And calls the eretz from sunrise to sunset.

2 Out of Tziyon, the perfection of beauty,

God shines forth.

3 Our God comes, and does not keep silent.

A fire devours before him.

It is very tempestuous around him.

4 He calls to the heavens above,

To the eretz, that he may judge his people:

5 "Gather my holy ones together to me,

Those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice."

6 The heavens shall declare his righteousness,

For God himself is judge.

Selah.

7 "Hear, my people, and I will speak;

Yisra'el, and I will testify against you.

I am God, your God.

8 I don't rebuke you for your sacrifices.

Your burnt offerings are continually before me.

9 I have no need for a bull from your stall,

Nor male goats from your pens.

10 For every animal of the forest is mine,

And the cattle on a thousand hills.

11 I know all the birds of the mountains.

The wild animals of the field are mine.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you,

For the world is mine, and all that is in it.

13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls,

Or drink the blood of goats?

14 Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving.

Pay your vows to Ha`Elyon.

15 Call on me in the day of trouble.

I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

16 But to the wicked God says,

"What right do you have to declare my statutes,

That you have taken my covenant on your lips,

17  Seeing you hate instruction,

And throw my words behind you?

18 When you saw a thief, you consented with him,

And have participated with adulterers.

19 "You give your mouth to evil.

You harnesses your tongue for deceit.

20 You sit and speak against your brother.

You slander your own mother's son.

21 You have done these things, and I kept silent.

You thought that the "I AM" was just like you.

I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.

22 "Now consider this, you who forget God,

Lest I tear you into pieces, and there be none to deliver.

23 Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me,

And prepares his way so that I will show God's salvation to him."

PSALMS: 80

1 Hear us, Shepherd of Yisra'el,

You who lead Yosef like a flock,

You who sit above the Keruvim, shine forth.

2 Before Efrayim and Binyamin and Menashsheh,

stir up your might,

Come to save us.

3 Turn us again, God.

Cause your face to shine,

And we will be saved.

4 LORD God Tzva'ot,

How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?

5 You have fed them with the bread of tears,

And given them tears to drink in large measure.

6 You make us a source of contention to our neighbors.

Our enemies laugh among themselves.

7 Turn us again,

God Tzva'ot.

Cause your face to shine,

And we will be saved.

8 You brought a vine out of Mitzrayim.

You drove out the nations, and planted it.

9 You cleared the ground for it.

It took deep root, and filled the land.

10 The mountains were covered with its shadow.

Its boughs were like God's cedars.

11 It sent out its branches to the sea,

Its shoots to the River.

12 Why have you broken down its walls,

So that all those who pass by the way pluck it?

13 The boar out of the wood ravages it.

The wild animals of the field feed on it.

14 Turn again, we beg you, God Tzva'ot.

Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,

15 The stock which your right hand planted,

The branch that you made strong for yourself.

16 It is burned with fire. It is cut down.

They perish at your rebuke.

17  Let your hand be on the man of your right hand,

On the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.

18 So we will not turn away from you.

Revive us, and we will call on your name.

19 Turn us again, LORD God Tzva'ot.

Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.

PSALMS: 110

1 The LORD says to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,

Until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet."

2 The LORD will send forth the rod of your strength out of Tziyon.

Rule in the midst of your enemies.

3 Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power,

In holy array.

Out of the womb of the morning, you have the dew of your youth.

4 The LORD has sworn, and will not change his mind:

"You are a Kohen forever in the order of Malki-Tzedek."

5 The Lord is at your right hand.

He will crush kings in the day of his wrath.

6 He will judge among the nations.

He will heap up dead bodies.

He will crush the ruler of the whole eretz.

7 He will drink of the brook in the way;

Therefore will he lift up his head.

PSALMS: 140

1 Deliver me, LORD, from the evil man.

Preserve me from the violent man;

2 Those who devise mischief in their hearts.

They continually gather themselves together for war.

3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent.

Viper's poison is under their lips.

Selah.

4 LORD, keep me from the hands of the wicked.

Preserve me from the violent men:

Who have determined to trip my feet.

5 The proud have hidden a snare for me,

They have spread the cords of a net by the path.

They have set traps for me.

Selah.

6 I said to the LORD,

"You are my God.

" Listen to the cry of my petitions, LORD.

7 LORD, the Lord, the strength of my yeshu`ah,

You have covered my head in the day of battle.

8 LORD, don't grant the desires of the wicked.

Don't let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah.

9 As for the head of those who surround me,

Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall on them.

Let them be thrown into the fire,

Into miry pits, from where they never rise.

11 An evil speaker won't be established in the eretz.

Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted,

And justice for the needy.

13 Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name.

The upright will dwell in your presence.

PROVERBS: 20

1 Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler;

Whoever is let astray by them is not wise.

2 The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion:

He who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life.

3 It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife;

But every fool will be quarreling.

4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the winter;

Therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.

5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water;

But a man of understanding will draw it out.

6 Many men claim to be men of unfailing love,

But who can find a faithful man?

7 A righteous man who walks in his integrity,

Blessed are his children after him.

8 A king who sits on the throne of judgment

Scatters away all evil with his eyes.

9 Who can say, "I have made my heart pure.

I am clean and without sin?"

10 Differing weights and differing measures,

Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.

11 Even a child makes himself known by his doings,

Whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.

12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye,

The LORD has made even both of them.

13 Don't love sleep, lest you come to poverty;

Open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.

14 "It's no good, it's no good," says the buyer;

But when he is gone his way, then he boasts.

15 There is gold and abundance of rubies;

But the lips of knowledge are a rare jewel.

16 Take the garment of one who puts up collateral for a stranger;

And hold him in pledge for a wayward woman.

17 Fraudulent food is sweet to a man,

But afterwards his mouth is filled with gravel.

18 Plans are established by advice;

By wise guidance you wage war!

19 He who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets;

Therefore don't keep company with him who opens wide his lips.

20 Whoever curses his father or his mother,

His lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.

21 An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning,

Won't be blessed in the end.

22 Don't say,

"I will pay back evil."

Wait for the LORD, and he will save you.

23 The LORD detests differing weights,

And dishonest scales are not pleasing.

24 A man's steps are from the LORD;

How then can man understand his way?

25 It is a snare to a man make a rash dedication,

And later reconsider his vows.

26 A wise king winnows out the wicked,

And drives the threshing wheel over them.

27 The spirit of man is the LORD's lamp,

Searching all his innermost parts.

28 Love and faithfulness keep the king safe.

His throne is sustained by love.

29 The glory of young men is their strength.

The splendor of old men is their gray hair.

30 Wounding blows cleanse away evil,

And beatings purge the innermost parts.

OLD TESTAMENT: EXODUS 29:1 - 30:10

29:1 "This is the thing that you shall do to them to make them holy, to minister to me in the Kohen's office: take one young bull and two rams without blemish, 2 matzah, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil: you shall make them of fine wheat flour. 3 You shall put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bull and the two rams. 4 You shall bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the tent of meeting, and shall wash them with water. 5 You shall take the garments, and put on Aharon the coat, the robe of the efod, the efod, and the breastplate, and dress him with the skillfully woven band of the efod; 6 and you shall set the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban. 7  Then you shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head, and anoint him. 8 You shall bring his sons, and put coats on them. 9 You shall dress them with belts, Aharon and his sons, and bind headbands on them: and they shall have the priesthood by a perpetual statute: and you shall consecrate Aharon and his sons. 10 "You shall bring the bull before the tent of meeting: and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull. 11 You shall kill the bull before the LORD, at the door of the tent of meeting. 12 You shall take of the blood of the bull, and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger; and you shall pour out all the blood at the base of the altar. 13 You shall take all the fat that covers the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar. 14 But the flesh of the bull, and its skin, and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside of the camp: it is a sin-offering. 15 "You shall also take the one ram; and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram. 16 You shall kill the ram, and you shall take its blood, and sprinkle it around on the altar. 17 You shall cut the ram into its pieces, and wash its innards, and its legs, and put them with its pieces, and with its head. 18 You shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD. 19 "You shall take the other ram; and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram. 20 Then you shall kill the ram, and take some of its blood, and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aharon, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood on the altar round about. 21 You shall take of the blood that is on the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aharon, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be made holy, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him. 22 Also you shall take some of the ram's fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys, the fat that is on them, and the right thigh (for it is a ram of consecration), 23 and one loaf of bread, one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of matzah that is before the LORD. 24 You shall put all of this in Aharon's hands, and in his sons' hands, and shall wave them for a wave-offering before the LORD. 25 You shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt offering, for a sweet savor before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD. 26 "You shall take the breast of Aharon's ram of consecration, and wave it for a wave-offering before the LORD: and it shall be your portion. 27 You shall sanctify the breast of the wave-offering, and the thigh of the heave-offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up, of the ram of consecration, even of that which is for Aharon, and of that which is for his sons: 28 and it shall be for Aharon and his sons as their portion forever from the children of Yisra'el; for it is a heave-offering: and it shall be a heave-offering from the children of Yisra'el of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, even their heave-offering to the LORD. 29 "The holy garments of Aharon shall be for his sons after him, to be anointed in them, and to be consecrated in them. 30 Seven days shall the son who is Kohen in his place put them on, when he comes into the tent of meeting to minister in the holy place. 31 "You shall take the ram of consecration, and boil its flesh in a holy place. 32 Aharon and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the tent of meeting. 33 They shall eat those things with which atonement was made, to consecrate and sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat of it, because they are holy. 34 If anything of the flesh of the consecration, or of the bread, remains to the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy. 35 "Thus shall you do to Aharon, and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded you. Seven days shall you consecrate them. 36 Every day shall you offer the bull of sin-offering for atonement: and you shall cleanse the altar, when you make atonement for it; and you shall anoint it, to sanctify it. 37  Seven days you shall make atonement for the altar, and sanctify it: and the altar shall be most holy; whatever touches the altar shall be holy. 38 "Now this is that which you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually. 39 The one lamb you shall offer in the morning; and the other lamb you shall offer at evening: 40 and with the one lamb a tenth part of an efah of fine flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil, and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink-offering. 41 The other lamb you shall offer at evening, and shall do to it according to the meal-offering of the morning, and according to its drink-offering, for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD. 42 It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you. 43 There I will meet with the children of Yisra'el; and the place shall be sanctified by my glory. 44 I will sanctify the tent of meeting and the altar: Aharon also and his sons I will sanctify, to minister to me in the Kohen's office. 45 I will dwell among the children of Yisra'el, and will be their God. 46 They shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them forth out of the land of Mitzrayim, that I might dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.

30:1 "You shall make an altar to burn incense on. You shall make it of shittim wood. 2 Its length shall be a cubit, and its breadth a cubit. It shall be square, and its height shall be two cubits. Its horns shall be of one piece with it. 3 You shall overlay it with pure gold, the top of it, the sides of it around it, and its horns; and you shall make a gold molding around it. 4 You shall make two golden rings for it under its molding; on its two ribs, on its two sides you shall make them; and they shall be for places for poles with which to bear it. 5 You shall make the poles of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold. 6 You shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you. 7 Aharon shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it. 8 When Aharon lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations. 9 You shall offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal-offering; and you shall pour no drink-offering on it. 10 Aharon shall make atonement on its horns once in the year; with the blood of the sin offering of atonement once in the year he shall make atonement for it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the LORD."

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 26:14 - 46

26:14 Then one of the twelve, who was called Yehudah from K'riot, went to the chief Kohanim,

15 and said, "What are you willing to give me, and I will deliver him to you?" They weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.

16 From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

17 Now on the first day of matzah, the talmidim came to Yeshua, saying to him, "Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Pesach?"

18 He said, "Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, 'The Teacher says, "My time is at hand. I will keep the Pesach at your house with my talmidim."'"

19 The talmidim did as Yeshua commanded them, and they prepared the Pesach.

20 Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve talmidim.

21 As they were eating, he said, "Most assuredly I tell you that one of you will betray me."

22 They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, "It isn't me, is it, Lord?"

23 He answered, "He who dipped his hand with me in the dish, the same will betray me.

24 The Son of Man goes, even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born."

25 Yehudah, who betrayed him, answered, "It isn't me, is it, Rabbi?" He said to him, "You said it."

26 As they were eating, Yeshua took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the talmidim, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body."

27 He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, "Drink all of it,

28 for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

29 But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."

30 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

31 Then Yeshua said to them, "All of you will be offended by me tonight, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered abroad.'

32 But after I am raised up, I will go before you into the Galil."

33 But Kefa answered him, "Even if all will be offended by you, I will never be offended."

34 Yeshua said to him, "Most assuredly I tell you, that tonight, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times."

35 Kefa said to him, "Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you." All of the talmidim also said likewise.

36 Then Yeshua came with them to a place called Gat-Shemanim, and said to his talmidim, "Sit here, while I go there and pray."

37 He took with him Kefa and the two sons of Zavdai, and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled.

38 Then he said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch with me."

39 He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire."

40 He came to the talmidim, and found them sleeping, and said to Kefa, "What, couldn't you watch with me for one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that you don't enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

42 Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, "My Father, if this cup can't pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done."

43 He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

44 He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.

45 Then he came to his talmidim, and said to them, "Sleep on now, and take your rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46 Arise, let us be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand."

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
