PSALMS: 15
1 LORD, who shall dwell in your sanctuary?
Who shall live on your holy hill?
2 He who walks blamelessly, does what is right,
And speaks truth in his heart;
3 He who doesn't slander with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his friend,
Nor casts slurs against his fellow man;
4 In whose eyes a vile man is despised,
But who honors those who fear the LORD;
He who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and doesn't change;
5 He who doesn't lend out his money for usury,
Nor take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be shaken.
PSALMS: 45
1 My heart overflows with a noble theme.
I recite my verses for the king.
My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.
2 You are the most excellent of the sons of men.
Grace has anointed your lips,
Therefore God has blessed you forever.
3 Gird your sword on your thigh, mighty one,
Your splendor and your majesty.
4 In your majesty ride on victoriously on behalf of truth, humility, and righteousness. Let your right hand display awesome deeds.
5 Your arrows are sharp.
The nations fall under you, with arrows in the heart of the king's enemies.
6 Your throne, God, is forever and ever.
A scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom.
7 You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil
of gladness above your fellows.
8 All your garments smell like myrrh, aloes, and cassia.
Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad.
9 Kings' daughters are among your honorable women.
At your right hand the queen stands in gold of Ofir.
10 Listen, daughter, consider, and turn your ear.
Forget your own people, and also your father's house.
11 So will the king desire your beauty,
Honor him, for he is your lord.
12 The daughter of Tzor comes with a gift.
The rich among the people entreat your favor.
13 The princess inside is all glorious.
Her clothing is interwoven with gold.
14 She shall be led to the king in embroidered work.
The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to you.
15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be led.
They shall enter into the king's palace.
16 Your sons will take the place of your fathers.
You shall make them princes in all the eretz.
17 I will make your name to be remembered in all generations.
Therefore the peoples shall give you thanks forever and ever.
PSALMS: 75
1 We give thanks to you, God,
We give thanks, for your Name is near.
Men tell about your wondrous works.
2 When I choose the appointed time,
I will judge blamelessly.
3 The eretz and all its inhabitants quake.
I firmly hold its pillars. Selah.
4 I said to the arrogant,
"Don't boast;"
To the wicked,
"Don't lift up the horn.
5 Don't lift up your horn on high.
Don't speak with a stiff neck."
6 For neither from the east, nor from the west,
Nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.
7 But God is the judge.
He puts down one, and lifts up another.
8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup,
Full of foaming wine mixed with spices.
He pours it out.
Indeed the wicked of the eretz drink and drink it to its very dregs.
9 But I will declare this forever:
I will sing praises to the God of Ya`akov.
10 I will cut off all the horns of the wicked,
But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
PSALMS: 105
1 Give thanks to the LORD!
Call on his name! Make his doings known among the peoples.
2 Sing to him, sing praises to him!
Tell of all his marvelous works.
3 Glory in his holy name.
Let the heart of them rejoice who seek the LORD.
4 Seek the LORD and his strength.
Seek his face forever more.
5 Remember his marvelous works that he has done;
His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,
6 You seed of Avraham, his servant,
You children of Ya`akov, his chosen ones.
7 He is the LORD, our God.
His judgments are in all the eretz.
8 He has remembered his covenant forever,
The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,
9 The covenant which he made with Avraham,
His oath to Yitzchak,
10 And confirmed the same to Ya`akov for a statute;
To Yisra'el for an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, "To you I will give the land of Kana`an,
The lot of your inheritance;"
12 When they were but a few men in number,
Yes, very few, and sojourners in it.
13 They went about from nation to nation,
From one kingdom to another people.
14 He allowed no one to do them wrong.
Yes, he reproved kings for their sakes,
15 "Don't touch my anointed ones.
Do my prophets no harm."
16 He called for a famine on the land.
He destroyed the food supplies.
17 He sent a man before them.
Yosef was sold for a slave.
18 They bruised his feet with shackles.
His neck was locked in irons,
19 Until the time that his word happened,
And the LORD's word proved him true.
20 The king sent and freed him;
Even the ruler of peoples, and let him go free.
21 He made him lord of his house,
And ruler of all of his possessions;
22 To discipline his princes at his pleasure,
And to teach his Zakenim wisdom.
23 Yisra'el also came into Mitzrayim.
Ya`akov sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 He increased his people greatly,
And made them stronger than their adversaries.
25 He turned their heart to hate his people,
To conspire against his servants.
26 He sent Moshe, his servant,
And Aharon, whom he had chosen.
27 They performed miracles among them,
And wonders in the land of Ham.
28 He sent darkness, and made it dark.
They didn't rebel against his words.
29He turned their waters into blood,
And killed their fish.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs,
Even in the chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and swarms of flies came, ‘
And lice in all their borders.
32 He gave them hail for rain,
With lightning in their land.
33 He struck their vines and also their fig trees,
And shattered the trees of their country.
34 He spoke, and the locusts came,
And the grasshoppers, without number,
35 Ate up every plant in their land;
Ate up the fruit of their ground.
36 He struck also all the firstborn in their land,
The chief of all their strength.
37 He brought them forth with silver and gold.
There was not one feeble person among his tribes.
38Mitzrayim was glad when they departed,
For the fear of them had fallen on them.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering,
Fire to give light in the night.
40 They asked, and he brought quails,
And satisfied them with the bread of the sky.
41 He opened the rock, and waters gushed out.
They ran as a river in the dry places.
42 For he remembered his holy word,
And Avraham, his servant.
43 He brought forth his people with joy,
His chosen with singing.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations.
They took the labor of the peoples in possession,
45 That they might keep his statutes,
And observe his laws.

PSALMS: 135
1 Praise the LORD!
Praise the name of the LORD!
Praise him, you servants of the LORD,
2 You who stand in the house of the LORD,
In the courts of our God's house.
3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good.
Sing praises to his name, for that is pleasant.
4 For the LORD has chosen Ya`akov for himself;
Yisra'el for his own possession.
5 For I know that the LORD is great,
That our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatever the LORD pleased, that he has done,
In heaven and in eretz, in the seas and in all deeps;
7 Who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the eretz;
Who makes lightnings with the rain;
Who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries;
8 Who struck the firstborn of Mitzrayim,
Both of man and animal;
9 Who sent signs and wonders into the midst of you,
Mitzrayim,
On Par`oh, and on all his servants;
10 Who struck many nations,
And killed mighty kings,
11 Sichon king of the Amori, `Og king of Bashan,
All the kingdoms of Kana`an,
12 And gave their land for a heritage,
A heritage to Yisra'el, his people.
13 Your name, LORD, endures forever;
Your renown, LORD, throughout all generations.
14 For the LORD will judge his people,
And have compassion on his servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
The work of men's hands.
16 They have mouths, but they can't speak;
They have eyes, but they can't see;
17 They have ears, but they can't hear;
Neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them;
Yes, everyone who trusts in them.
19 House of Yisra'el, praise the LORD!
House of Aharon, praise the LORD!
20House of Levi, praise the LORD!
You who fear the LORD, praise the LORD!
21 Blessed be the LORD from Tziyon,
Who dwells at Yerushalayim. Praise the LORD!
PROVERBS: 15
1 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge,
But the mouth of fools gush out folly.
3 The LORD's eyes are everywhere,
Keeping watch on the evil and the good.
4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
But deceit in it crushes the spirit.
5 A fool despises his father's correction,
But he who heeds reproof shows prudence.
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure,
But the income of the wicked brings trouble.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge;
Not so with the heart of fools.
8 The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But he loves him who follows after righteousness.
10 There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way:
Whoever hates reproof shall die.
11 She'ol and Avaddon are before the LORD --
How much more then the hearts of the children of men!
12 A scoffer doesn't love to be reproved;
He will not go to the wise.
13 A glad heart makes a cheerful face;
But an aching heart breaks the spirit.
14 The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge,
But the mouths of fools feed on folly.
15 All the days of the afflicted are wretched,
But one who has a cheerful heart enjoys a continual feast.
16 Better is little, with the fear of the LORD,
Than great treasure with trouble.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is,
Than a fattened calf with hatred.
18 A wrathful man stirs up contention,
But one who is slow to anger appeases strife.
19 The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch,
But the path of the upright is a highway.
20 A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish man despises his mother.
21 Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom,
But a man of understanding keeps his way straight.
22 Where there is no counsel, plans fail;
But in a multitude of counselors they are established.
23 Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth.
How good is a word at the right time!
24 The path of life leads upward for the wise,
To keep him from going downward to She'ol.
25 The LORD will uproot the house of the proud,
But he will keep the widow's borders intact.
26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked,
But the thoughts of the pure are pleasing.
27 He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house,
But he who hates bribes will live.
28 The heart of the righteous weighs answers,
But the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked,
But he hears the prayer of the righteous.
30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart.
Good news gives health to the bones.
31 The ear that listens to the reproof lives,
And will be at home among the wise.
32 He who refuses correction despises his own soul,
But he who listens to reproof gets understanding.
33 The fear of the LORD teaches wisdom.
Before honor is humility.

1:1 Adam, Shet, Enosh, 2 Kenan, Mahalal'el, Yered, 3 Hanokh, Metushelach, Lamekh, 4 Noach, Shem, Ham, and Yefet. 5 The sons of Yefet: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Yavan, and Tuval, and Meshekh, and Tiras. 6 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Difat, and Togarmah. 7 The sons of Yavan: Elishah, and Tarshisha, Kittim, and Rodanim. 8 The sons of Ham: Kush, and Mitzrayim, Put, and Kana`an. 9 The sons of Kush: Seva, and Havilah, and Savtah, and Ra`mah, and Savtekha. The sons of Ra`mah: Sheva, and Dedan. 10 Kush became the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one in the eretz. 11 Mitzrayim became the father of Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehavim, and Naftuchim, 12 and Patrusim, and Kasluchim (from whence came the Pelishtim), and Kaftorim. 13 Kana`an became the father of Tzidon his firstborn, and Het, 14 and the Yevusi, and the Amori, and the Girgashi, 15 and the Hivvi, and the `Arki, and the Sini, 16 and the Arvadi, and the Tzemari, and the Hamati. 17 The sons of Shem: `Elam, and Ashshur, and Arpakhshad, and Lud, and Aram, and `Utz, and Hul, and Geter, and Meshekh. 18 Arpakhshad became the father of Shelach, and Shelach became the father of `Ever. 19 To `Ever were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the eretz was divided; and his brother's name was Yoktan. 20 Yoktan became the father of Almodad, and Shelef, and Hatzarmavat, and Yerach, 21 and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, 22 and `Eval, and Avima'el, and Sheva, 23 and Ofir, and Havilah, and Yovav. All these were the sons of Yoktan. 24 Shem, Arpakhshad, Shelach, 25 `Ever, Peleg, Re`u, 26 Serug, Nachor, Terach, 27 Avram (the same is Avraham). 28 The sons of Avraham: Yitzchak, and Yishma'el. 29 These are their generations: the firstborn of Yishma'el, Nevayot; then Kedar, and Adbe'el, and Mivsam, 30 Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema, 31 Yetur, Nafish, and Kedemah. The sons of Dishan: `Utz, and Aran. 43 Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before there resigned any king over the children of Yisra'el: Bela the son of Be'or; and the name of his city was Dinhava. 44 Bela died, and Yovav the son of Zerach of Botzrah reigned in his place. 45 Yovav died, and Husham of the land of the Temani reigned in his place. 46 Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midyan in the field of Mo'av, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was `Avit. 47 Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. 48 Samlah died, and Sha'ul of Rechovot by the River reigned in his place. 49 Sha'ul died, and Ba`al-Hanan the son of `Akhbor reigned in his place. 50 Ba`al-Hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai: and his wife's name was Mehetav'el, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahav. 51 Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief `Alvah, chief Yetet, 52 chief Oholivamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon, 53 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mivtzar, 54 chief Magdi'el, chief `Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.
2:1 These are the sons of Yisra'el: Re'uven, Shim`on, Levi, and Yehudah, Yissakhar, and Zevulun, 2 Dan, Yosef, and Binyamin, Naftali, Gad, and Asher. 3 The sons of Yehudah: `Er, and Onan, and Shelach; which three were born to him of Shu`a's daughter the Kana`anite. `Er, Yehudah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and he killed him. 4 Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Peretz and Zerach. All the sons of Yehudah were five. 5 The sons of Peretz: Hetzron, and Hamul. 6 The sons of Zerach: Zimri, and Etan, and Heman, and Kalkol, and Dara; five of them in all. 7 The sons of Karmi: `Akar, the troubler of Yisra'el, who committed a trespass in the devoted thing. 8 The sons of Etan: `Azaryah. 9 The sons also of Hetzron, who were born to him: Yerachme'el, and Ram, and Keluvai. 10 Ram became the father of `Amminadav, and `Amminadav became the father of Nachshon, prince of the children of Yehudah; 11 and Nachshon became the father of Salma, and Salma became the father of Bo`az, 12 and Bo`az became the father of `Oved, and `Oved became the father of Yishai; 13 and Yishai became the father of his firstborn Eli'av, and Avinadav the second, and Shim`a the third, 14 Netan'el the fourth, Raddai the fifth, 15 Otzem the sixth, David the seventh; 16 and their sisters were Tzeru'yah and Avigayil. The sons of Tzeru'yah: Avishai, and Yo'av, and `Asa'el, three. 17 Avigayil bore `Amasa; and the father of `Amasa was Yeter the Yishme`elite.
NEW TESTAMENT: ACTS 23:11 - 35
23:11 The following night, the Lord stood by him, and said, "Cheer up, Sha'ul, for as you have testified about me at Yerushalayim, so you must testify also at Rome."
12 When it was day, some of the Yehudim banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Sha'ul.
13 There were more than forty people who had made this conspiracy.
14 They came to the chief Kohanim and the Zakenim, and said, "We have bound ourselves under a great curse, to taste nothing until we have killed Sha'ul
15 Now therefore, you with the council inform the commanding officer that he should bring him down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to judge his case more exactly. We are ready to kill him before he comes near."
16 But Sha'ul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, and he came and entered into the barracks and told Sha'ul.
17 Sha'ul summoned one of the centurions, and said, "Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him."
18 So he took him, and brought him to the commanding officer, and said, "Sha'ul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you, who has something to tell you."
19 The commanding officer took him by the hand, and going aside, asked him privately, "What is it that you have to tell me?
20 He said, "The Yehudim have agreed to ask you to bring down Sha'ul tomorrow to the council, as though intending to inquire somewhat more accurately concerning him.
21 Therefore don't yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse neither to eat nor to drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.
22 So the commanding officer let the young man go, charging him, "Tell no one that you have told these things to me."
23 He called to himself two of the centurions, and said, "Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen, and two hundred men armed with spears, at the third hour of the night."
24 He asked them to provide animals, that they might set Sha'ul on one, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.
25 He wrote a letter like this:
26 "Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.
27 "This man was seized by the Yehudim, and was about to be killed by them, when I came with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.
28 Desiring to know the cause why they accused him, I brought him down to their council.
29 I found him to be accused about questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.
30 When I was told that the Yehudim lay in wait for the man, I sent him to you immediately, charging his accusers also to bring their accusations against him before you. Farewell."
31 So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Sha'ul and brought him by night to Antipatris.
32 But on the next day they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the barracks.
33 They, when they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, presented Sha'ul also before him.
34 When the governor had read it, he asked what province he was from. When he understood that he was from Cilicia, he said,
35 "I will hear you fully when your accusers also arrive." He commanded that he be kept in Herod's palace.
