A
psalm of David.
1
Ascribe
to the LORD, O mighty ones,
ascribe
to the LORD glory and strength.
2
Ascribe
to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship
the LORD in the splendor of his A holiness.
3
The
voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the
God of glory thunders,
the
LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4
The
voice of the LORD is powerful;
the
voice of the LORD is majestic.
5
The
voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
the
LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6
He
makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
Sirion
B like a young wild ox.
7
The
voice of the LORD strikes
with
flashes of lightning.
8
The
voice of the LORD shakes the desert;
the
LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9
The
voice of the LORD twists the oaks C
and
strips the forests bare.
And
in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
10
The
LORD sits D enthroned over the flood;
the
LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11
The
LORD gives strength to his people;
the
LORD blesses his people with peace. [1]
PSALMS: 59
For
the director of music. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." Of David. A miktam.
A When Saul had sent men to watch David's house in order to kill
him.
1
Deliver
me from my enemies, O God;
protect
me from those who rise up against me.
2
Deliver
me from evildoers
and
save me from bloodthirsty men.
3
See
how they lie in wait for me!
Fierce
men conspire against me
for
no offense or sin of mine, O LORD.
4
I
have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me.
Arise
to help me; look on my plight!
5O
LORD God Almighty, the God of Israel,
rouse
yourself to punish all the nations;
show
no mercy to wicked traitors.
Selah
6
They
return at evening,
snarling
like dogs,
and
prowl about the city.
7
See
what they spew from their mouths--
they
spew out swords from their lips,
and
they say, "Who can hear us?"
8
But
you, O LORD, laugh at them;
you
scoff at all those nations.
9
O
my Strength, I watch for you;
you,
O God, are my fortress, 10 my loving God. [2]
God
will go before me
and
will let me gloat over those who slander me.
11
But
do not kill them, O Lord our shield, B
or
my people will forget.
In
your might make them wander about,
and
bring them down.
12
For
the sins of their mouths,
for
the words of their lips,
let
them be caught in their pride.
For
the curses and lies they utter,
13
consume
them in wrath,
consume
them till they are no more.
Then
it will be known to the ends of the earth
that
God rules over Jacob. Selah
14
They
return at evening,
snarling
like dogs,
and
prowl about the city.
15
They
wander about for food
and
howl if not satisfied.
16
But
I will sing of your strength,
in
the morning I will sing of your love;
for
you are my fortress,
my
refuge in times of trouble.
17
O
my Strength, I sing praise to you;
you,
O God, are my fortress, my loving God. [3]
PSALMS: 89
A
maskil A of Ethan the Ezrahite.
1
I
will sing of the LORD's great love forever;
with
my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all
generations.
2
I
will declare that your love stands firm forever,
that
you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
3
You
said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen
one,
I
have sworn to David my servant,
4 `I
will establish your line forever
and
make your throne firm through all generations.'"
Selah
5
The
heavens praise your wonders, O LORD,
your
faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
6
For
who in the skies above can compare with the LORD?
Who
is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?
7
In
the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared;
he
is more awesome than all who surround him.
8
O
LORD God Almighty, who is like you?
You
are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
9
You
rule over the surging sea;
when
its waves mount up, you still them.
10
You
crushed Rahab like one of the slain;
with
your strong arm you scattered your enemies.
11
The
heavens are yours, and yours also the earth;
you
founded the world and all that is in it.
12
You
created the north and the south;
Tabor
and Hermon sing for joy at your name.
13
Your
arm is endued with power;
your
hand is strong, your right hand exalted. [4]
14
Righteousness
and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love
and faithfulness go before you.
15
Blessed
are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who
walk in the light of your presence, O LORD.
16
They
rejoice in your name all day long;
they
exult in your righteousness.
17
For
you are their glory and strength,
and
by your favor you exalt our horn. B
18
Indeed,
our shield C belongs to the LORD,
our
king to the Holy One of Israel.
19
Once
you spoke in a vision,
to
your faithful people you said:
"I have bestowed strength on a
warrior;
I
have exalted a young man from among the people.
20 I
have found David my servant;
with
my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21 My
hand will sustain him;
surely
my arm will strengthen him.
22 No
enemy will subject him to tribute;
no
wicked man will oppress him.
23 I
will crush his foes before him
and
strike down his adversaries.
24 My
faithful love will be with him,
and
through my name his horn D
will be exalted.
25 I
will set his hand over the sea,
his
right hand over the rivers.
26 He
will call out to me, `You are my Father,
my
God, the Rock my Savior.'
27 I
will also appoint him my firstborn,
the
most exalted of the kings of the earth.
28 I
will maintain my love to him forever,
and
my covenant with him will never fail.
his
throne as long as the heavens endure.
30"If his sons forsake my law
and
do not follow my statutes,
31
if
they violate my decrees
and
fail to keep my commands,
32 I
will punish their sin with the rod,
their
iniquity with flogging;
33 but
I will not take my love from him,
nor
will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34 I
will not violate my covenant
or
alter what my lips have uttered.
35 Once
for all, I have sworn by my holiness--
and
I will not lie to David--
36 that
his line will continue forever
and
his throne endure before me like the sun;
37 it
will be established forever like the moon,
the
faithful witness in the sky."
Selah
38
But
you have rejected, you have spurned,
you
have been very angry with your anointed one.
39
You
have renounced the covenant with your servant
and
have defiled his crown in the dust.
40
You
have broken through all his walls
and
reduced his strongholds to ruins.
41
All
who pass by have plundered him;
he
has become the scorn of his neighbors.
42
You
have exalted the right hand of his foes;
you
have made all his enemies rejoice.
43
You
have turned back the edge of his sword
and
have not supported him in battle. [6]
44
You
have put an end to his splendor
and
cast his throne to the ground.
45
You
have cut short the days of his youth;
you
have covered him with a mantle of shame.
Selah
46
How
long, O LORD? Will you hide yourself forever?
How
long will your wrath burn like fire?
47
Remember
how fleeting is my life.
For
what futility you have created all men!
48
What
man can live and not see death,
or
save himself from the power of the grave E?
Selah
49
O
Lord, where is your former great love,
which
in your faithfulness you swore to David?
50
Remember,
Lord, how your servant hasF been mocked,
how
I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,
51
the
taunts with which your enemies have mocked, O LORD,
with
which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.
52
Praise
be to the LORD forever!
Amen
and Amen. [7]

Blessed
A are they whose ways are blameless,

They
do nothing wrong;

You

that
are to be fully obeyed.
5
Oh,
that my ways were steadfast
in
obeying your decrees!

Then
I would not be put to shame

I consider all your commands.

as
I learn your righteous laws.

make music to him with tambourine and harp.
4
For
the LORD takes delight in his people;
he
crowns the humble with salvation.
5
Let
the saints rejoice in this honor
and
sing for joy on their beds.
6
May
the praise of God be in their mouths
and
a double-edged sword in their hands,
7
to
inflict vengeance on the nations
and
punishment on the peoples,
8
to
bind their kings with fetters,
their
nobles with shackles of iron,
9
to
carry out the sentence written against them.
This
is the glory of all his saints.
Praise
the LORD. [21]
PROVERBS: 29
29
1
A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes
will
suddenly be destroyed--without remedy.
2
When
the righteous thrive, the people rejoice;
when
the wicked rule, the people groan.
3
A
man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,
but
a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
4
By
justice a king gives a country stability,
but
one who is greedy for bribes tears it down.
5
Whoever
flatters his neighbor
is
spreading a net for his feet.
6
An
evil man is snared by his own sin,
but
a righteous one can sing and be glad.
7
The
righteous care about justice for the poor,
but
the wicked have no such concern.
8
Mockers
stir up a city,
but
wise men turn away anger.
9
If
a wise man goes to court with a fool,
the
fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.
10
Bloodthirsty
men hate a man of integrity
and
seek to kill the upright. [22]
11
A
fool gives full vent to his anger,
but
a wise man keeps himself under control.
12
If
a ruler listens to lies,
all
his officials become wicked.
13
The
poor man and the oppressor have this in common:
The
LORD gives sight to the eyes of both.
14
If
a king judges the poor with fairness,
his
throne will always be secure.
15
The
rod of correction imparts wisdom,
but
a child left to himself disgraces his mother.
16
When
the wicked thrive, so does sin,
but
the righteous will see their downfall.
17
Discipline
your son, and he will give you peace;
he
will bring delight to your soul.
18
Where
there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
but
blessed is he who keeps the law.
19
A
servant cannot be corrected by mere words;
though
he understands, he will not respond.
20
Do
you see a man who speaks in haste?
There
is more hope for a fool than for him.
21
If
a man pampers his servant from youth,
he
will bring grief A in the end. [23]
22
An
angry man stirs up dissension,
and
a hot-tempered one commits many sins.
23
A
man's pride brings him low,
but
a man of lowly spirit gains honor.
24
The
accomplice of a thief is his own enemy;
he
is put under oath and dare not testify.
25
Fear
of man will prove to be a snare,
but
whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
26
Many
seek an audience with a ruler,
but
it is from the LORD that man gets justice.
27
The
righteous detest the dishonest;
the
wicked detest the upright. [24]
OLD
TESTAMENT: ZECHARIAH 12:1 - 13:1
12
1
This
is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the
heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man
within him, declares: 2 "I am going to make
Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be
besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3 On
that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will
make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it
will injure themselves. 4 On that
day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,"
declares the LORD. "I will keep a watchful eye over
the house of Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations.
5 Then the leaders of Judah will say
in their hearts, `The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the LORD Almighty
is their God.'
6
"On
that day I will make the leaders of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a
flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume right and left all the
surrounding peoples, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.
7
"The LORD will save the dwellings of Judah first, so that the honor of the house
of David and of Jerusalem's inhabitants may not be greater than that of Judah.
8
On that day the LORD will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the
feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God,
like the Angel of the LORD going before them. 9
On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.
10
"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a
spirit A
of grace and supplication. They will look on B
me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one [25]
mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a
firstborn son. 11
On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be great, like the weeping of Hadad
Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. 12
The land will mourn, each clan by itself, with their wives by themselves: the
clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of Nathan and
their wives, 13
the clan of the house of Levi and their wives, the clan of Shimei and their
wives, 14
and all the rest of the clans and their wives.
13
1 "On
that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

NEW
TESTAMENT: REVELATIONS 19:1 -
21
19
1
After
this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting:
"Hallelujah!
Salvation
and glory and power belong to our God,
2
for true and just are his judgments.
He
has condemned the great prostitute
who
corrupted the earth by her adulteries.
He
has avenged on her the blood of his servants."
3
And
again they shouted:
"Hallelujah!
The
smoke from her goes up for ever and ever."
4
The
twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God,
who was seated on the throne. And they cried:
"Amen,
Hallelujah!"
5
Then
a voice came from the throne, saying:
"Praise our God,
all
you his servants,
you
who fear him,
both
small and great!" [27]
6
Then
I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and
like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
"Hallelujah!
For
our Lord God Almighty reigns.
7
Let
us rejoice and be glad
and
give him glory!
For
the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and
his bride has made herself ready.
8
Fine
linen, bright and clean,
was
given her to wear."
(Fine
linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)
9
Then
the angel said to me, "Write: `Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of
the Lamb!'" And he added, "These
are the true words of God."
10
At
this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a
fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of
Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
11
I
saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is
called Faithful and True. With justice he [28]
judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his
head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he
himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is
the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding
on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of
his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."
A He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING
OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17
And
I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds
flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18
so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of
horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and
great."
19
Then
I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to
make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the
beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the
miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had
received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were
thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest of
them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the
horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. [29]

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
