The Lord’s Prayer
Hebrew Names Version
Matthew 6:9 -15 9 Pray like this: 'Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
10 May your kingdom come. May your will be done, as in heaven, so on eretz.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
13 Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amein.'
14 "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
The Lord's Prayer is the model of prayer that Jesus taught us, as recorded in the gospels of Matthew and Luke. Matthew 6:10-14 This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Luke
11:2-4 He said to them, “When you pray, say:
‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. It is presented here in traditional and modern language: |

Our

This
prayer is prayed daily by thousands of Christians, and can be seen
both as a model for prayer, and as to be repeated as part of our
daily prayer. |

Pointers for Prayer: Pray the prayer through, and then take one of the phrases. Spend a few moments reflecting on that phrase, for example, imagining what it means for God's Kingdom to come, or how we forgive those who sin against us. Then use these thoughts for further prayer, finally coming back to pray through the Lord's Prayer again. |
