1 Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
2 My soul, you have said to the LORD,
"You are my Lord.
Apart from you I have no good thing."
3 As for the holy ones who are in the eretz,
They are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god.
Their drink-offerings of blood I will not offer,
Nor take their names on my lips.
5 The LORD assigned my portion and my cup.
You made my lot secure.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places.
Yes, I have a good inheritance.
7 I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel.
Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the LORD always before me.
Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices.
My body shall also dwell in safety.
10 For you will not leave my soul in She'ol,
Neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.
11 You will show me the path of life.
In your presence is fullness of joy.
In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
PSALMS: 46
1 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will we not be afraid, though the eretz changes,
Though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;
3 Though the waters of it roar and are troubled,
Though the mountains tremble with the swelling of it. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad,
The holy place of the tents of Ha`Elyon.
5 God is in the midst of her.
She shall not be moved.
God will help her at dawn.
6 The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved.
He uttered his voice, and the eretz melted.
7 The LORD of Hosts is with us.
The God of Ya`akov is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, see the works of the LORD,
What desolations he has made in the eretz.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the eretz.
He breaks the bow, and cuts the spear apart.
He burns the chariots in the fire.
10 "Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations.
I will be exalted in the eretz."
11 The LORD of Hosts is with us.
The God of Ya`akov is our refuge. Selah.
PSALMS: 76
1 In Yehudah, God is known.
His name is great in Yisra'el.
2 His tent is also in Shalem;
His dwelling-place in Tziyon.
3 There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow,
The shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war.
Selah.
4 Glorious are you, and excellent,
More than mountains of game.
5 Valiant men lie plundered,
They have slept their last sleep.
None of the men of war can lift their hands.
6 At your rebuke, God of Ya`akov,
Both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
7 You, even you, are to be feared.
Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?
8 You pronounced judgment from heaven.
The eretz feared, and was silent,
9 When God arose to judgment,
To save all the afflicted ones of the eretz. Selah.
10 Surely the wrath of man praises you.
The survivors of your wrath are restrained.
11 Make vows to the LORD your God, and fulfill them!
Let all of his neighbors bring presents to him who is to be feared.
12 He will cut off the spirit of princes.
He is feared by the kings of the eretz.
PSALMS: 106
1 Praise the LORD!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
For his loving kindness endures forever.
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD,
Or fully declare all his praise?
3 Blessed are those who keep justice,
He who does righteousness at all times.
4 Remember me, LORD, with the favor that you show to your people.
Visit me with your yeshu`ah,
5 That I may see the prosperity of your chosen,
That I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,
That I may glory with your inheritance.
6 We have sinned with our fathers.
We have committed iniquity.
We have done wickedly.
7 Our fathers didn't understand your wonders in Mitzrayim.
They didn't remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses,
But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Sea of Suf.
8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake,
That he might make his mighty power known.
9 He rebuked the Sea of Suf also, and it was dried up;
So he led them through the depths, as through a desert.
10 He saved them from the hand of him who hated them,
And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11 The waters covered their adversaries.
There was not one of them left.
12 Then they believed his words.
They sang his praise.
13 They soon forgot his works.
They didn't wait for his counsel,
14 But gave in to craving in the desert,
And tested God in the wasteland.
15 He gave them their request,
But sent leanness into their soul.
16 They envied Moshe also in the camp,
And Aharon, the LORD's holy one.
17 The eretz opened and swallowed up Datan,
And covered the company of Aviram.
18 A fire was kindled in their company.
The flame burned up the wicked.
19 They made a calf in Horev,
And worshiped a molten image.
20 Thus they exchanged their glory
For an image of a bull that eats grass.
21 They forgot God, their Savior,
Who had done great things in Mitzrayim,
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham,
And awesome things by the Sea of Suf.
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them,
Had Moshe, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach,
To turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn't destroy them.
24 Yes, they despised the pleasant land.
They didn't believe his word,
25 But murmured in their tents,
And didn't listen to the voice of the LORD.
26 Therefore he swore to them
That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,
27 That he would overthrow their seed among the nations,
And scatter them in the lands.
28 They joined themselves also to Ba`al-Pe`or,
And ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their deeds.
The plague broke in on them.
30 Then Pinechas stood up, and executed judgment,
So the plague was stopped.
31 That was credited to him for righteousness,
To all generations forevermore.
32 They angered him also at the waters of Merivah,
So that Moshe was troubled for their sakes;
33 Because they were rebellious against his spirit,
He spoke rashly with his lips.
34 They didn't destroy the peoples,
As the LORD commanded them,
35 But mixed themselves with the nations,
Learned their works.
36 They served their idols,
Which became a snare to them.
37 Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
38 They shed innocent blood,
Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters,
Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Kana`an.
The land was polluted with blood.
39 Thus were they defiled with their works,
And prostituted themselves in their deeds.
40 Therefore the wrath of the LORD was kindled against his people.
He abhorred his inheritance.
41 He gave them into the hand of the nations.
Those who hated them ruled over them.
42 Their enemies also oppressed them.
They were brought into subjection under their hand.
43 Many times he delivered them,
But they were rebellious in their counsel,
And were brought low in their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless he regarded their distress,
When he heard their cry.
45 He remembered for them his covenant,
And repented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
46 He made them also to be pitied
By all those who carried them captive.
47 Save us, LORD, our God,
Gather us from among the nations,
To give thanks to your holy name,
To triumph in your praise!
48 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Yisra'el,
From everlasting even to everlasting!
Let all the people say, ‘

6 To him who spread out the eretz above the waters;

15 But overthrew Par`oh and his host in the Sea of Suf;

16 To him who led his people through the wilderness;

17 To him who struck great kings;
For his loving kindness endures forever;
18 And killed mighty kings;
For his loving kindness endures forever:
19 Sichon king of the Amori;

PROVERBS: 16
1 The plans of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;
But the LORD weighs the motives.
3 Commit your deeds to the LORD,
And your plans shall succeed.
4 The LORD has made everything for its own end --
Yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD:
They shall assuredly not be unpunished.
6 By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for.
By the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
7 When a man's ways please the LORD,
He makes even his enemies to be at shalom with him.
8 Better is a little with righteousness,
Than great revenues with injustice.
9 A man's heart plans his course,
But the LORD directs his steps.
10 Inspired judgments are on the lips of the king.
He shall not betray his mouth.
11 Honest balances and scales are the LORD's;
All the weights in the bag are his work.
12 It is an abomination for kings to do wrong,
For the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings.
They value one who speaks the truth.
14 The king's wrath is a messenger of death,
But a wise man will pacify it.
15 In the light of the king's face is life.
His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.
16 How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil.
He who keeps his way preserves his soul.
18 Pride goes before destruction,
A haughty spirit before a fall.
19 It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor,
Than to divide the plunder with the proud.
20 He who gives heed to the Word finds prosperity.
Whoever trusts in the LORD is blessed.
21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent.
Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.
22 Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it,
But the punishment of fools is their folly.
23 The heart of the wise instructs his mouth,
And adds learning to his lips.
24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 There is a way which seems right to a man,
But in the end it leads to death.
26 The appetite of the laboring man labors for him;
For his mouth urges him on.
27 A worthless man devises mischief.
His speech is like a scorching fire.
28 A perverse man stirs up strife.
A whisperer separates close friends.
29 A man of violence entices his neighbor,
And leads him in a way that is not good.
30 One who winks his eyes to plot perversities,
One who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.
31 Gray hair is a crown of glory.
It is attained by a life of righteousness.
32 One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
One who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
33 The lot is cast into the lap,
But its every decision is from the LORD.

23:24 `Asa'el the brother of Yo'av was one of the thirty; Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beit-Lechem, 25 Shammah the Harodi, Elika the Harodi, 26 Heletz the Paltite, `Ira the son of `Ikkesh the Tekoite, 27 Avi-Ezer the `Antotite, Mevunnai the Hushatite,
28 Tzalmon the Achochi, Maharai the Netofatite, 29Helev the son of Ba`anah the Netofatite, Ittai the son of Rivai of Gevah of the children of Binyamin, 30Benayah a Pir`atonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Ga`ash. 31 Avi-Alvon the `Arvati, `Azmavet the Barchumite, 32 Elyachba the Sha`alvonite, the sons of Yashen, Yonatan, 33 Shammah the Harari, Achi'am the son of Sharar the Ararite, 34 Elifelet the son of Achasbai, the son of the Ma`akhatite, Eli`am the son of Achitofel the Giloni, 35 Hetzro the Karmelite, Pa`arai the Arbi, 36 Yig'al the son of Natan of Tzovah, Bani the Gadite 37 Tzelek the `Ammonite, Naharai the Be'erotite, armor bearers to Yo'av the son of Tzeru'yah, 38 `Ira the Yitri, Garev the Yitri 39 Uriyah the Hittite: thirty-seven in all.
24:1 Again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Yisra'el, and he moved David against them, saying, Go, number Yisra'el and Yehudah. 2 The king said to Yo'av the captain of the host, who was with him, Go now back and forth through all the tribes of Yisra'el, from Dan even to Be'er-Sheva, and number you the people, that I may know the sum of the people. 3 Yo'av said to the king, Now the LORD your God add to the people, however many they may be, one hundred times; and may the eyes of my lord the king see it: but why does my lord the king delight in this thing? 4 Notwithstanding, the king's word prevailed against Yo'av, and against the captains of the host. Yo'av and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Yisra'el. 5 They passed over the Yarden, and encamped in `Aro`er, on the right side of the city that is in the middle of the valley of Gad, and to Ya`zer: 6 then they came to Gil`ad, and to the land of Tachtim-Hodshi; and they came to Dan-Ya`an, and round about to Tzidon, 7 and came to the stronghold of Tzor, and to all the cities of the Hivvi, and of the Kana`anim; and they went out to the south of Yehudah, at Be'er-Sheva. 8 So when they had gone back and forth through all the land, they came to Yerushalayim at the end of nine months and twenty days. 9 Yo'av gave up the sum of the numbering of the people to the king: and there were in Yisra'el eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword; and the men of Yehudah were five hundred thousand men. 10 David's heart struck him after that he had numbered the people. David said to the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that which I have done: but now, the LORD, put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly. 11 When David rose up in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying, 12 Go and speak to David, Thus says the LORD, I offer you three things: choose you one of them, that I may do it to you. 13 So Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him, Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? or shall there be three days' pestilence in your land? now advise you, and consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me. 14 David said to Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great; and let me not fall into the hand of man. 15 So the LORD sent a pestilence on Yisra'el from the morning even to the time appointed; and there died of the people from Dan even to Be'er-Sheva seventy thousand men. 16 When the angel stretched out his hand toward Yerushalayim to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel who destroyed the people, It is enough; now stay your hand. The angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Aravna the Yevusi.
17 David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, Behold, I have sinned, and I have done perversely; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand be against me, and against my father's house. 18 Gad came that day to David, and said to him, Go up, rear an altar to the LORD in the threshing floor of Aravna the Yevusi. 19 David went up according to the saying of Gad, as the LORD commanded. 20 Aravna looked forth, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Aravna went out, and bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground. 21 Aravna said, Why is my lord the king come to his servant? David said, To buy the threshing floor of you, to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people. 22 Aravna said to David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good to him: behold, the oxen for the burnt offering, and the threshing instruments and the yokes of the oxen for the wood: 23 all this, king, does Aravna give to the king. Aravna said to the king, the LORD your God accept you. 24 The king said to Aravna, No; but I will most assuredly buy it of you at a price. Neither will I offer burnt-offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 25 David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace-offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Yisra'el.
NEW TESTAMENT: ACTS 3:1 - 26
3:1 Kefa and Yochanan were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
2 A certain man who was lame from his mother's womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Yafeh, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.
3 Seeing Kefa and Yochanan about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.
4 Kefa, fastening his eyes on him, with Yochanan, said, "Look at us."
5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 But Kefa said, "Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Natzeret, rise and walk!"
7 He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.
8 Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.
10 They recognized him, that it was he who sat begging for gifts for the needy at the Yafeh Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him.
11 As the lame man who was healed held Kefa and Yochanan, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Shlomo's, greatly wondering.
12 When Kefa saw it, he answered to the people, "You men of Yisra'el, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?
13 The God of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Ya`akov, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Yeshua, whom you delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.
16 By faith in his name has his name made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
17 "Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Messiah should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
19 "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
20 and that he may send Messiah Yeshua, who was ordained for you before,
21 whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, whereof God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from ancient times.
22 For Moshe indeed said to the fathers, 'The Lord God will raise up a prophet to you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.
23 It will be, that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.'
24 Yes, and all the prophets from Shemu'el and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days.
25 You are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Avraham, 'In your seed will all the families of the eretz be blessed.'
26 God, having raised up his servant, Yeshua, sent him to you first, to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your wickedness."

הם הגאונים אשר כל חפצי בהם.
4 ירבה צרותיהם, נותני מתנות לאל אחר.
נכסיהם דמם לא אקריב,
ולא אקח את שמותיהם על שפתי.

8 והושיעם למען שמו,
למען יגיד את כוחו הגדול.
9 וגם בים סוף גער ויבש;
והוליכם במהומות כבמדבר.
10 הושיעם מיד שונאם,
וגאלם מיד אויב.
11 מים כיסו את צריכם,
לא נשאר מהם אחד.
12 אז האמינו לדבריו,
והיללו.
13 מהרה שכחו מעשיו,
לעצתו לא חיכו,
14 כי נכנעו לתאווה במדבר,
וניסו את אלהים במדבר.
15 נתן להם את בקשתם,
ושלח רזה בנפשם.
16 וגם במשה קינאו במחנה,
ובאהרן קדוש ה'.
17 הארץ נפתחה ובלעה את דתן,
ותכסה את קהל אבירם.
18 אש ניצתה בקהלם.
להבה שרפה רשעים.
19 עשו עגל בחורב,
ולפסל נסכה ישתחוו.
20 והחליפו כבודם
בצלם פר אוכל עשב.
21 שכחו את אלהים מושיעם,
אשר עשה גדלות במצרים,
22 פלאות בארץ חם,
ודברים נוראיים על ים סוף.
23 לכן אמר כי ישמידם,
לולא עמד משה בחירו לפניו בפרץ,
להשיב את אפו ולא ישמידם.
24 כן בוז לארץ הנעימה. לא האמינו לדברו,
25 ויתלוננו באוהליהם,
ולא שמעו בקול יהוה.
26 לכן נשבע להם
כי יפגעם במדבר,
27 כי יפגע את זרעם בגויים,
ויפזרם בארצות.
28 וגם יצטרפו לבעל פעור,
ואכלו זבחי מתים.
29 ויכעסוהו במעשיהם.
ותפרץ בהם מגפה.
30 ויקם פנחס ויעשה משפט,
ותפסק המגפה.
31 אשר יחשב לו לצדקה,
לדורות ועד עולם.
32 וגם יכעסוהו במי מריבה,
וירע משה עליהם;
33 כי מרדו ברוחו,
ידבר בפזיזות.
34 לא השמידו את העמים,
כאשר ציווה ה' אותם,
35 כי התערבו עם הגויים,
ולמדו מעשיהם.
36 ויעבדו את אליליהם,
והיו להם למלכודת.
37 כן הקריבו את בניהם ואת בנותיהם לשדים.
38 שפכו דם נקי,
ואת דם בניהם ואת דם בנותיהם,
אשר הקריבו לאלילי כנען.
הארץ נטמאה בדם.
39 ויטמאו במעשיהם,
וזנו במעשיהם.
40 לכן חרם חרון ה' בעמו.
ושנא את נחלתו.
41 ונתנם ביד הגויים.
שנאיהם שולטים בהם.
42 וגם אויביהם לחצו אותם.
והיו נכבשים תחת ידם. 43 פעמים רבות הציל אותם,
והם מררו בעצתם,
ובעוונם נפלו.
44 וראה את צרתם,
בשמע צעקתם.
45 וזכר להם את בריתו,
ונחם כרב חסדו.
46 וגם גרם להם לרחמים
לכל שבותם.
47 הושיענו יהוה אלוהינו,
אספנו אותנו מקרב הגויים,
להודות לשמך קדשך,
לשבח בתהילתך!
48 ברוך יהוה אלוהי ישראל,
מעולם ועד עולם!

הברית החדשה: מעשי השליחים ג':1-26
ג':1 כיפא ויוחנן עלו לבית המקדש בשעת התפילה, השעה התשיעית.
2 איש אחד, שהיה צולע מרחם אמו, נישא אותו יום יום על פתח בית המקדש הנקרא יפה, כדי לבקש מתנות עבור הנזקקים מהבאים לבית המקדש.
3 וירא כיפא ויוחנן עומדים להיכנס לבית המקדש, וביקש לקבל מתנות עבור הנזקקים.
4 כיפא הביט בו יחד עם יוחנן ואמר: "הבט בנו."
5 הקשיב להם, בציפייה לקבל מהם משהו.
6 אך כיפא אמר: "כסף וזהב אין לי, אלא את אשר לי, אני נותן לך. בשם ישוע המשיח מנצרת, קום והתהלך!"
7 אחז בו בימינו והקים אותו. מיד התחזקו רגליו ועצמות קרסוליו.
8 הוא קפץ, עמד והחל ללכת. הוא נכנס איתם אל המקדש, הולך, קופץ ומשבח את אלוהים.
9 כל העם ראה אותו הולך ומשבח את אלוהים.
10 הם הכירו אותו, שהוא היושב ומבקש מתנות לאביונים בשער יפה של המקדש. הם התמלאו תדהמה ותדהמה על מה שקרה לו.
11 כאשר הפיסל שנרפא אוחז בכיפא וביוחנן, כל העם רץ אליהם יחד אל המרפסת הנקראת שלמה, משתאה מאוד.
12 כאשר ראה זאת כיפא, ענה לעם: "אנשי ישראל, מדוע אתם מתפלאים על האיש הזה? מדוע אתם נועצים בנו את עיניכם כאילו בכוחנו או ביראת הקודש גרמנו לו ללכת?
13 אלוהי אברהם, יצחק ויעקב, אלוהי אבותינו, הכבד את עבדו ישוע, אשר מסרתם והכחשתם בפני פילטוס, כאשר רצה לשחררו.
14 אבל אתם הכחשתם את הקדוש והצדיק וביקשתם שיינתן לכם רוצח,
15 והרגתם את שר החיים, אשר אלוהים הקים מן המתים, אשר אנו עדים לו.
16 באמונה בשמו חיזק שמו את האיש הזה, אשר אתם רואים ומכירים. האמונה אשר דרכו נתנה לו את שלמותו הזו בפני כולכם.
17 ועתה, אחים, אני יודע שעשיתם זאת בבורות, וכך גם מנהיגיכם. 18 אבל את הדברים אשר הודיע אלוהים בפי כל נביאיו כי המשיח יסבול, כך קיים.
19 "שובו בתשובה, ושובו, למען יימחו חטאיכם, למען יבואו עתות רענון מפני ה',
20 וכי ישלח את המשיח ישוע, אשר נועד לכם מקדימה,
21 אשר על השמים לקבלו עד עתות שיקום הכל, אשר דיבר אלוהים בפי נביאיו הקדושים אשר היו מימי קדם.
22 כי משה אמר לאבות: 'ה' אלוהים יקים לכם נביא מקרב אחיכם כמוני. שמעתם אליו בכל אשר יאמר אליכם.
23 והיה, כל נפש אשר לא תשמע לנביא ההוא, תושמד מן העם.
24 כן, וכל הנביאים משמואל ואלה הבאים אחריו, כל אשר דיברו, גם הם סיפרו על הימים האלה.
25 אתם בני הנביאים ובני הברית אשר כרת אלוהים את אבותינו לאמר לאברהם, 'בזרעך יתברכו כל משפחות הארץ'.
26 אלוהים, לאחר שהקים את עבדו ישוע, שלח אותו אליכם בראשונה, לברך אתכם, ולהשיב כל אחד מכם מרשעתו."
