1 For
the leader.
With
stringed instruments.
On
sh'minit [low-pitched musical instruments?].
A
psalm of David:
ADONAI,
don't rebuke me in your anger,
don't
discipline me in the heat of your fury.
2 Be
gracious to me, ADONAI,
because
I am withering away;
heal
me, ADONAI, because my bones are shaking;
3 I
am completely terrified;
and
you, ADONAI - how long?
4 Come
back, ADONAI, and rescue me!
Save
me for the sake of your grace;
5 for
in death, no one remembers you;
in
Sh'ol, who will praise you?
6 I
am worn out with groaning;
all
night I drench my bed with tears,
flooding
my couch till it swims.
7 My
vision is darkened with anger;
it
grows weak because of all my foes.
8 Get
away from me, all you workers of evil!
For
ADONAI has heard the sound of my weeping,
9 ADONAI
has heard my pleading,
ADONAI
will accept my prayer.
10 All
my enemies will be confounded, completely terrified;
they
will turn back and be suddenly put to shame.

1 For
the leader.
By
David, the servant of ADONAI:
Crime
speaks to the wicked.
I
perceive this in my heart;
before
his eyes there is no fear of God.
until
his wrongs are discovered;
then,
he is hated.
your
judgments are like the great deep.
You
save man and beast, ADONAI.
and
you have them drink from the stream of your delights.
11 Don't
let the foot of the proud tread on me
or
the hands of the wicked drive me away.

1 For
the leader.
A
song.
A
psalm:
Shout
to God, all the earth!
his
eyes keep watch on the nations.
Let
no rebel arise to challenge him.
12 You
made men ride over our heads;
we
went through fire and water.
But
you brought us out to a place of plenty.
13 I
will come into your house with burnt offerings,
I
will fulfill my vows to you,
14 those
my lips pronounced and my mouth spoke
when
I was in distress.
15 I
will offer you burnt offerings of fattened animals,
along
with the sweet smoke of rams;
I
will offer bulls and goats. (Selah)
16 Come
and listen, all you who fear God,
and
I will tell what he has done for me.
17 I
cried out to him with my mouth,
his
praise was on my tongue.
18 Had
I cherished evil thoughts,
Adonai
would not have listened.
19 But
in fact, God did listen;
he
paid attention to my prayer.
20 Blessed
be God, who did not reject my prayer
or
turn his grace away from me.

1 Sing
to ADONAI a new song!
Sing
to ADONAI, all the earth!
"The
world is firmly established, immovable.
He
will judge the peoples fairly.
he
will judge the world rightly and the peoples with his faithfulness.
PSALMS:

1 When
the LORD brought back those who returned to Tziyon,
We
were like those who dream.
2 Then
our mouth was filled with laughter,
And
our tongue with singing.
Then
said they among the nations,
"The
LORD has done great things for them."
3 The
LORD has done great things for us,
And
we are glad.
4 Restore
our fortunes again, LORD,
Like
the streams in the Negev.
5 Those
who sow in tears will reap in joy.
6 He
who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing,
Will
assuredly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.
PROVERBS:
6
If
you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger;
Seeing
you have come into the hand of your neighbor.
Go,
humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor.
Like
a bird from the snare of the fowler.
21 Bind
them continually on your heart.
Tie
them around your neck.
22 When
you walk, it will lead you.
When
you sleep, it will watch over you.
When
you awake, it will talk with you.
23 For
the mitzvah is a lamp,
And
the law is light.
Reproofs
of instruction are the way of life,
24 To
keep you from the immoral woman,
From
the flattery of the wayward wife's tongue.
25 Don't
lust after her beauty in your heart,
Neither
let her captivate you with her eyelids.
26 For
a prostitute reduces you to a piece of bread.
The
adulteress hunts for your precious life.
27
Can
a man scoop fire into his lap,
And
his clothes not be burned?
28 Or
can one walk on hot coals,
And
his feet not be scorched?
29 So
is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife.
Whoever
touches her will not be unpunished.
30 Men
don't despise a thief,
If
he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry:
31 But
if he be found, he shall restore seven times.
He
shall give all the wealth of his house.
32 He
who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding.
He
who does it destroys his own soul.
33 He
will get wounds and dishonor.
His
reproach will not be wiped away.
34 For
jealousy arouses the fury of the husband.
He
won't spare in the day of vengeance.
35 He
won't regard any ransom,
Neither
will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
OLD
TESTAMENT:
DANIEL 2:24 - 3:30
2:24 Therefore
Daniyel went in to Aryokh, whom the king had appointed to destroy the
wise men of Bavel; he went and said thus to him: Don't destroy the
wise men of Bavel; bring me in before the king, and I will show to
the king the interpretation. 25 Then
Aryokh brought in Daniyel before the king in haste, and said thus to
him, I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Yehudah,
who will make known to the king the interpretation. 26 The
king answered Daniyel, whose name was Belteshatztzar, Are you able to
make known to me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation
of it? 27 Daniyel
answered before the king, and said, The secret which the king has
demanded can neither wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor
soothsayers, show to the king; 28 but
there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known
to the king Nevukhadnetztzar what shall be in the latter days. Your
dream, and the visions of your head on your bed, are these: 29 as
for you, O king, your thoughts came [into your mind] on your bed,
what should happen hereafter; and he who reveals secrets has made
known to you what shall happen. 30 But
as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I
have more than any living, but to the intent that the interpretation
may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of
your heart. 31 You,
O king, saw, and, behold, a great image. This image, which was
mighty, and whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and the
aspect of it was awesome. 32 As
for this image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of
silver, its belly and its thighs of brass, 33 its
legs of iron, its feet part of iron, and part of clay. 34 You
saw until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image
on its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them in
pieces. 35 Then
was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken
in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing
floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no place was found
for them: and the stone that struck the image became a great
mountain, and filled the whole eretz. 36 This
is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation of it before the
king. 37
You,
O king, are king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the
kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the glory; 38 and
wherever the children of men dwell, the animals of the field and the
birds of the sky has he given into your hand, and has made you to
rule over them all: you are the head of gold. 39 After
you shall arise another kingdom inferior to you; and another third
kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the eretz. 40 The
fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron, because iron breaks in pieces
and subdues all things; and as iron that crushes all these, shall it
break in pieces and crush. 41 Whereas
you saw the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron,
it shall be a divided kingdom; but there shall be in it of the
strength of the iron, because you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 As
the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the
kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43 Whereas
you saw the iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves
with the seed of men; but they shall not cling to one another, even
as iron does not mingle with clay. 44 In
the days of those kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom
which shall never be destroyed, nor shall the sovereignty of it be
left to another people; but it shall break in pieces and consume all
these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Because
you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and
that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver,
and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall
happen hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation of
it sure. 46 Then
the king Nevukhadnetztzar fell on his face, and worshiped Daniyel,
and commanded that they should offer an offering and sweet odors to
him. 47 The
king answered to Daniyel, and said, Of a truth your God is the God of
gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you
have been able to reveal this secret. 48 Then
the king made Daniyel great, and gave him many great gifts, and made
him to rule over the whole province of Bavel, and to be chief
governor over all the wise men of Bavel. 49
Daniyel
requested of the king, and he appointed Shadrakh, Meshakh, and
`Aved-Nego, over the affairs of the province of Bavel: but Daniyel
was in the gate of the king.
3:1 Nevukhadnetztzar
the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits, and
the breadth of it six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in
the province of Bavel. 2 Then
Nevukhadnetztzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the
deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the
counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to
come to the dedication of the image which Nevukhadnetztzar the king
had set up. 3 Then
the satraps, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the
treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the
provinces, were gathered together to the dedication of the image that
Nevukhadnetztzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image
that Nevukhadnetztzar had set up. 4 Then
the herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, peoples, nations, and
languages, 5that
whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp,
pipe, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the golden
image that Nevukhadnetztzar the king has set up; 6 and
whoever doesn't fall down and worships shall the same hour be cast
into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 7 Therefore
at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn,
flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, all the
peoples, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshiped the
golden image that Nevukhadnetztzar the king had set up. 8 Therefore
at that time certain Kasdim came near, and brought accusation against
the Yehudim. 9 They
answered Nevukhadnetztzar the king, O king, live for ever. 10You,
O king, have made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound
of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music,
shall fall down and worship the golden image; 11 and
whoever doesn't fall down and worships, shall be cast into the midst
of a burning fiery furnace. 12 There
are certain Yehudim whom you have appointed over the affairs of the
province of Bavel: Shadrakh, Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego; these men, O
king, have not regarded you: they don't serve your gods, nor worship
the golden image which you have set up. 13 Then
Nevukhadnetztzar in [his] rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrakh,
Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego. Then they brought these men before the
king. 14Nevukhadnetztzar
answered them, Is it on purpose, Shadrakh, Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego,
that you don't serve my god, nor worship the golden image which I
have set up? 15 Now
if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute,
zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to you fall down and
worship the image which I have made, [well]: but if you don't
worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace; and who is that god that shall deliver you out of my
hands? 16Shadrakh,
Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego answered the king, Nevukhadnetztzar, we have
no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If
it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the
burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O
king. 18 But
if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods,
nor worship the golden image which you have set up. 19 Then
was Nevukhadnetztzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was
changed against Shadrakh, Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego: [therefore] he
spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times
more than it was wont to be heated. 20 He
commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrakh,
Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego, [and] to cast them into the burning fiery
furnace. 21Then
these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles,
and their [other] garments, and were cast into the midst of the
burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore
because the king's mitzvah was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot,
the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrakh, Meshakh,
and `Aved-Nego. 23 These
three men, Shadrakh, Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego, fell down bound into
the midst of the burning fiery furnace.24 Then
Nevukhadnetztzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste: he
spoke and said to his counselors, Didn't we cast three men bound into
the midst of the fire? They answered the king, True, O king. 25 He
answered, Look, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the
fire, and they have no hurt; and the aspect of the fourth is like a
son of the gods. 26 Then
Nevukhadnetztzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace:
he spoke and said, Shadrakh, Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego, you servants of
Ha`Elyon God, come forth, and come here. Then Shadrakh, Meshakh, and
`Aved-Nego came forth out of the midst of the fire. 27 The
satraps, the deputies, and the governors, and the king's counselors,
being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on
their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were
their pants changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on
them. 28 Nevukhadnetztzar
spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrakh, Meshakh, and
`Aved-Nego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants who
trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and have yielded
their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except
their own God. 29 Therefore
I make a decree, that every people, nation, and language, which speak
anything amiss against the God of Shadrakh, Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego,
shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill;
because there is no other god who is able to deliver after this
sort.30 Then
the king promoted Shadrakh, Meshakh, and `Aved-Nego in the province
of Bavel.
NEW
TESTAMENT:
1 PETER 4:7 - 5:14
4:7
But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind,
self-controlled, and sober in prayer. 8
And
above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love
covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be
hospitable one to another without grumbling.
10
According
as each has received a gift, be ministering it among yourselves, as
good stewards of the grace of God in its various forms. 11 If
any man speaks, let it be as it were oracles of God. If any man
serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all
things God may be glorified through Yeshua the Messiah, to whom
belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.
Amein. 12 Beloved,
don't be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to
test you, as though a strange thing happened to you. 13 But
because you are partakers of Messiah's sufferings, rejoice; that at
the revelation of his glory also you may rejoice with exceeding joy.
14 If
you are insulted for the name of Messiah, blessed are you; because
the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is
blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified. 15 For
let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or
as a meddler in other men's matters. 16 But
if one of you suffers for being a Messianic, let him not be ashamed;
but let him glorify God in this matter. 17
For
the time [has come] for judgment to begin at the house of God. If it
begins first at us, what will happen to those who don't obey the Good
News of God? 18
"If
it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the
ungodly and the sinner?" 19
Therefore
let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good
entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.
5:1 I
exhort the Zakenim among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the
sufferings of Messiah, and who will also share in the glory that will
be revealed. 2
Shepherd
the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not
under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but
willingly; 3
neither
as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves
examples to the flock. 4
When
the chief Shepherd will be revealed, you will receive the crown of
glory that doesn't fade away. 5
Likewise,
you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird
yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for
"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 6 Humble
yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt
you in due time; 7 casting
all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be
sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil,
walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
devour. 9 Withstand
him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in
the world are undergoing the same sufferings. 10 But
may the God of all grace (who called you to his eternal glory by
Messiah Yeshua), after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish,
strengthen, and settle you. 11 To
him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amein. 12 Through
Sila, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you
briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God
in which you stand. 13
She
who is in Bavel, elect together with you, greets you; and so does
Mark, my son. 14 Greet
one another with a kiss of love. Shalom be to you all who are in
Messiah Yeshua. Amein. 's Second Letter
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
