THEinc-HIM Daily Bible Meditation – November 24 – Full Text

Genesis 1:1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

NOVEMBER 24

PSALMS: 24, 54, 84, 114, 144

PROVERBS: 24

OLD TESTAMENT: EXODUS 35:10 - 36-38

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 27:32 - 66

PSALMS: 24

1 The eretz is the LORD's, with its fullness;

The world, and those who dwell therein.

2 For he has founded it on the seas,

And established it on the floods.

3 Who may ascend to the LORD's hill?

Who may stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart;

Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood,

And has not sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive a blessing from the LORD,

Righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation of those who seek Him,

Who seek your face -- even Ya`akov.

Selah.

7 Lift up your heads, you gates;

Be lifted up, you everlasting doors:

The King of glory will come in.

8 Who is the King of glory?

The LORD strong and mighty,

The LORD mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, you gates;

Yes, lift them up, you everlasting doors:

The King of glory will come in.

10 Who is this King of glory?

The LORD of Hosts,

He is the King of glory.

Selah.

PSALMS: 54

1 Save me, God, by your name.

Vindicate me in your might.

2 Hear my prayer, God.

Listen to the words of my mouth.

3 For strangers have risen up against me.

Violent men have sought after my soul.

They haven't set God before them.

Selah.

4 Behold, God is my helper.

The Lord is the one who sustains my soul.

5 He will repay the evil to my enemies.

Destroy them in your truth.

6 With a free will offering, I will sacrifice to you.

I will give thanks to your name, LORD, for it is good.

7 For he has delivered me out of all trouble.

My eye has seen triumph over my enemies.

PSALMS: 84

1 How lovely are your dwellings,

LORD of Hosts!

2 My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of the LORD.

My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

3 Yes, the sparrow has found a home,

And the swallow a nest for herself,

where she may have her young,

Near your altars, LORD of Hosts,

My King, and my God.

4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house.

They are always praising you. Selah.

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in you;

Who have set their hearts on a pilgrimage.

6 Passing through the valley of Weeping,

they make it a place of springs.

Yes, the autumn rain covers it with blessings.

7 They go from strength to strength.

Everyone of them appears before God in Tziyon.

8 LORD, God Tzva'ot, hear my prayer.

Listen, God of Ya`akov.

Selah.

9 Behold, God our shield,

Look at the face of your anointed.

10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand.

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,

Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and a shield.

The LORD will give grace and glory.

He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.

12 LORD of Hosts,

Blessed is the man who trusts in you.

PSALMS: 114

1 When Yisra'el went forth out of Mitzrayim,

The house of Ya`akov from a people of foreign language;

2 Yehudah became his sanctuary,

Yisra'el his dominion.

3 The sea saw it, and fled.

The Yarden was driven back.

4 The mountains skipped like rams,

The little hills like lambs.

5 What was it, you sea, that you fled?

You Yarden, that you turned back?

6 You mountains, that you skipped like rams;

You little hills, like lambs?

7 Tremble, you eretz, at the presence of the Lord,

At the presence of the God of Ya`akov,

8 Who turned the rock into a pool of water,

The flint into a spring of waters.

PSALMS: 144

1 Blessed be the LORD, my rock,

Who teaches my hands to war,

And my fingers to battle:

2 My loving kindness, my fortress,

My high tower, my deliverer,

My shield, and he in whom I take refuge;

Who subdues my people under me.

3 LORD, what is man, that you care for him?

Or the son of man, that you think of him?

4 Man is like a breath.

His days are like a shadow that passes away.

5 Part your heavens, LORD, and come down.

Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.

6 Throw out lightning, and scatter them.

Send out your arrows, and rout them.

7 Stretch out your hand from above,

Rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters,

Out of the hands of foreigners;

8 Whose mouths speak deceit,

Whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9 I will sing a new song to you, God.

On a ten-stringed lyre,

I will sing praises to you.

10 You are he who gives salvation to kings,

Who rescues David, his servant, from the deadly sword.

11 Rescue me, and deliver me out of the hands of foreigners,

Whose mouths speak deceit,

Whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

12 Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants,

Our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace.

13 Our barns are full, filled with all kinds of provision.

Our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields.

14 Our oxen will pull heavy loads.

There is no breaking in, and no going away,

And no outcry in our streets.

15 Happy are the people who are in such a situation.

Happy are the people whose God is the LORD.

PROVERBS: 24

1 Don't you be envious against evil men;

Neither desire to be with them:

2 For their hearts plot violence,

And their lips talk about mischief.

3 Through wisdom a house is built;

By understanding it is established;

4 By knowledge the rooms are filled

With all rare and beautiful treasure.

5 A wise man has great power;

And a knowledgeable man increases strength;

6 For by wise guidance you wage your war;

And victory is in many advisors.

7 Wisdom is too high for a fool:

He doesn't open his mouth in the gate.

8 One who plots to do evil

Will be called a schemer.

9 The schemes of folly are sin.

The mocker is detested by men.

10 If you falter in the time of trouble,

Your strength is small.

11 Rescue those who are being led away to death!

Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!

12 If you say,

"Behold, we didn't know this;"

Doesn't he who weighs the hearts consider it?

He who keeps your soul, doesn't he know it?

Shall he not render to every man according to his work?

13 My son, eat honey, for it is good;

The droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste:

14 So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul;

If you have found it, then will there be a reward,

Your hope will not be cut off.

15 Don't lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous.

Don't destroy his resting-place:

16 For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again;

But the wicked are overthrown by calamity.

17 Don't rejoice when your enemy falls.

Don't let your heart be glad when he is overthrown;

18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him,

And he turn away his wrath from him.

19 Don't fret yourself because of evildoers;

Neither be envious of the wicked:

20 For there will be no reward to the evil man;

And the lamp of the wicked shall be snuffed out.

21 My son, fear the LORD and the king.

Don't join those who are rebellious:

22 For their calamity will rise suddenly;

The destruction from them both -- who knows?

23 These also are sayings of the wise.

To show partiality in judgment is not good.

24 He who says to the wicked, "You are righteous;"

Peoples shall curse him, and nations shall abhor him --

25 But it will go well with those who convict the guilty,

And a rich blessing will come on them.

26 An honest answer Is like a kiss on the lips.

27 Prepare your work outside.

Make it ready for you in the field.

Afterwards, build your house.

28 Don't be a witness against your neighbor without cause.

Don't deceive with your lips.

29 Don't say, "I will do to him as he has done to me;

I will render to the man according to his work."

30 I went by the field of the sluggard,

By the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

31 Behold, it was all grown over with thorns.

Its surface was covered with nettles,

And its stone wall was broken down.

32 Then I saw, and considered well.

I saw, and received instruction:

33 A little sleep, a little slumber,

A little folding of the hands to sleep;

34 So shall your poverty come as a robber,

And your want as an armed man.

OLD TESTAMENT: EXODUS 35:10 - 36-38

35:10 "Let every wise-hearted man among you come, and make all that the LORD has commanded:

11 the tent, its outer covering, its roof, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets;

12 the ark, and its poles, the mercy seat, the veil of the screen;

13 the table with its poles and all its vessels, and the show bread;

14 the menorah also for the light, with its vessels, its lamps, and the oil for the light;

15 and the altar of incense with its poles, the anointing oil, the sweet incense, the screen for the door, at the door of the tent;

16 the altar of burnt offering, with its grating of brass, it poles, and all its vessels, the basin and its base;

17 the hangings of the court, its pillars, their sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court;

18 the pins of the tent, the pins of the court, and their cords;

19 the finely worked garments, for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aharon the Kohen, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the Kohen's office.'"

20 All the congregation of the children of Yisra'el departed from the presence of Moshe.

21 They came, everyone whose heart stirred him up, and everyone whom his spirit made willing, and brought the LORD's offering, for the work of the tent of meeting, and for all of its service, and for the holy garments.

22 They came, both men and women, as many as were willing-hearted, and brought brooches, ear-rings, signet-rings, and armlets, all jewels of gold; even every man who offered an offering of gold to the LORD.

23 Everyone, with whom was found blue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, goats' hair, rams' skins dyed red, and sea cow hides, brought them.

24 Everyone who did offer an offering of silver and brass brought the LORD's offering; and everyone, with whom was found shittim wood for any work of the service, brought it.

25 All the women who were wise-hearted spun with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, the blue, the purple, the scarlet, and the fine linen.

26 All the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun the goats' hair.

27 The rulers brought the shoham stones, and the stones to be set, for the efod and for the breastplate;

28 and the spice, and the oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense.

29 The children of Yisra'el brought a freewill offering to the LORD; every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all the work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by Moshe.

30 Moshe said to the children of Yisra'el, "Behold, the LORD has called by name Betzal'el the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Yehudah.

31 He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;

32 and to make skillful works, to work in gold, in silver, in brass,

33 in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving of wood, to work in all kinds of skillful workmanship.

34 He has put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Oholi'av, the son of Achisamakh, of the tribe of Dan.

35 He has filled them with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of workmanship, of the engraver, of the skillful workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of those who do any workmanship, and of those who make skillful works.

36:1 "Betzal'el and Oholi'av shall work with every wise-hearted man, in whom the LORD has put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD has commanded."

2 Moshe called Betzal'el and Oholi'av, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to the work to do it:

3 and they received from Moshe all the offering which the children of Yisra'el had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, with which to make it. They brought yet to him freewill-offerings every morning.

4 All the wise men, who performed all the work of the sanctuary, each came from his work which they did.

5 They spoke to Moshe, saying, "The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded to make."

6 Moshe gave mitzvah, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, "Let neither man nor woman make anything else for the offering for the sanctuary." So the people were restrained from bringing.

7 For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

8 All the wise-hearted men among those who did the work made the tent with ten curtains; of fine twined linen, blue, purple, and scarlet, with Keruvim, the work of the skillful workman, they made them.

9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. All the curtains had one measure.

10 He coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled one to another.

11 He made loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain from the edge in the coupling. Likewise he made in the edge of the curtain that was outmost in the second coupling.

12 He made fifty loops in the one curtain, and he made fifty loops in the edge of the curtain that was in the second coupling. The loops were opposite one to another.

13He made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains one to another with the clasps: so the tent was a unit.

14 He made curtains of goats' hair for a covering over the tent. He made them eleven curtains.

15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits the breadth of each curtain. The eleven curtains had one measure.

16 He coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.

17 He made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outmost in the coupling, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain which was outmost in the second coupling.

18 He made fifty clasps of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be a unit.

19 He made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of sea cow hides above.

20 He made the boards for the tent of shittim wood, standing up.

21 Ten cubits was the length of a board, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each board.

22 Each board had two tenons, joined one to another. He made all the boards of the tent this way.

23 He made the boards for the tent: twenty boards for the south side southward.

24 He made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.

25 For the second side of the tent, on the north side, he made twenty boards,

26 and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

27 For the far part of the tent westward he made six boards.

28 He made two boards for the corners of the tent in the far part.

29 They were double beneath, and in like manner they were all the way to the top of it to one ring. He did thus to both of them in the two corners.

30 There were eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; under every board two sockets.

31 He made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tent,

32 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tent, and five bars for the boards of the tent for the hinder part westward.

33 He made the middle bar to pass through in the midst of the boards from the one end to the other.

34 He overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold for places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.

35 He made the veil of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen: with Keruvim. He made it the work of a skillful workman.

36 He made four pillars of shittim for it, and overlaid them with gold. Their hooks were of gold. He cast four sockets of silver for them.

37 He made a screen for the door of the tent, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of an embroiderer;

38 and the five pillars of it with their hooks. He overlaid their capitals and their fillets with gold, and their five sockets were of brass.

NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 27:32 - 66

27:32 As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Shim`on by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.

33 They came to a place called "Gulgolta," that is to say, "The place of a skull."

34 They gave him sour wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.

35 When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots,

36 and they sat and watched him there.

37 They set up over his head his accusation written, "THIS IS YESHUA, THE KING OF THE YEHUDIM."

38 Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.

39 Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,

40 and saying, "You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!"

41 Likewise the chief Kohanim also mocking, with the Sofrim, the Perushim, and the Zakenim, said,

42 "He saved others, but he can't save himself. If he is the King of Yisra'el, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.

43 He trusts in God. Let him deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

44 The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.

45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

46 About the ninth hour Yeshua cried with a loud voice, saying, "`Eli, `Eli, lama shavakhtani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

47 Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, "This man calls Eliyah."

48 Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.

49 The rest said, "Let him be. Let's see whether Eliyah comes to save him."

50 Yeshua cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

51 Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The eretz quaked and the rocks were split.

52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the holy ones who had fallen asleep were raised;

53 and coming forth out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.

54 Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Yeshua, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."

55 Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Yeshua from the Galil, serving him,

56 among whom was Miryam from Magdala, Miryam the mother of Ya`akov and Yosi, and the mother of the sons of Zavdai.

57 When evening had come, there came a rich man from Ramatayim, named Yosef, who also himself was Yeshua' talmid.

58 This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Yeshua. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.

59 Yosef took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.

61 Miryam from Magdala was there, and the other Miryam, sitting opposite the tomb.

62 Now on the next day, which is the day after the Preparation, the chief Kohanim and the Perushim were gathered together to Pilate,

63 saying, "Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: 'After three days I will rise again.'

64 Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his talmidim come at night and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He is risen from the dead;' and the last deception will be worse than the first."

65 Pilate said to them, "You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can."

66 So they went, and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone, the guard being with them.

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
