NEW TESTAMENT: HEBREWS 13:1 - 25
Psalms 27
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life.
Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil-doers came at me to eat up my flesh,
Even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though a host should encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear.
Though war should rise against me,
Even then I will be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after,
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
To see the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion.
In the covert of his tent will he hide me.
He will lift me up on a rock.
6 Now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies around me.
I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent.
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
7 Hear, LORD, when I cry with my voice.
Have mercy also on me, and answer me.
8 When you said, "Seek my face,"
My heart said to you,
"I will seek your face, LORD."
9 Don't hide your face from me.
Don't put your servant away in anger.
You have been my help.
Don't abandon me, neither forsake me,
God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the LORD will take me up.
11 Teach me your way, LORD.
Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.
12 Don't deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries,
For false witnesses have risen up against me,
Such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the LORD.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage.
Yes, wait for the LORD.
PSALMS: 57
1 Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me,
For my soul takes refuge in you.
Yes, in the shadow of your wings,
I will take refuge,
Until disaster has passed.
2 I cry out to El `Elyon,
To God who accomplishes my requests for me.
3 He will send from heaven, and save me,
He rebukes the one who is pursuing me.
Selah.
God will send out his loving kindness and his truth.
4 My soul is among lions.
I lie among those who are set on fire,
Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows,
And their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Be exalted, God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be above all the eretz!
6 They have prepared a net for my steps.
My soul is bowed down.
They dig a pit before me.
They fall into the midst of it themselves.
Selah.
7 My heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast.
I will sing, yes,
I will sing praises.
8 Wake up, my glory!
Wake up, psaltery and harp!
I will wake up the dawn.
9 I will give thanks to you, Lord, among the peoples.
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your great loving kindness reaches to the heavens,
And your truth to the skies.
11 Be exalted, God, above the heavens.
Let your glory be over all the eretz.
PSALMS: 87
1 His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 The LORD loves the gates of Tziyon More than all the dwellings of Ya`akov.
3 Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God.
Selah.
4 I will record Rachav and Bavel among those who acknowledge me.
Behold, Peleshet, Tzor, and also Kush:
"This one was born there."
5 Yes, of Tziyon it will be said,
"This one and that one was born in her;"
The Elyon himself will establish her.
6 The LORD will count, when he writes up the peoples,
"This one was born there."
Selah.
7 Those who sing as well as those who dance say, "
All my springs are in you."
PSALMS: 117
1 Praise the LORD, all you nations!
Extol him, all you peoples!
2 For his loving kindness is great toward us.
The LORD's faithfulness endures forever.
Praise the LORD!
PSALMS: 147
1 Praise the LORD,
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
For it is pleasant and fitting to praise him.
2 The LORD builds up Yerushalayim.
He gathers together the outcasts of Yisra'el.
3 He heals the broken in heart,
And binds up their wounds.
4 He counts the number of the stars.
He calls them all by their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power.
His understanding is infinite.
6 The LORD upholds the humble.
He brings the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving.
Sing praises on the harp to our God,
8 Who covers the sky with clouds,
Who prepares rain for the eretz,
Who makes grass grow on the mountains.
9 He provides food for the cattle,
And for the young ravens when they call.
10 He doesn't delight in the strength of the horse.
He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him,
In those who hope in his loving kindness.
12 Praise the LORD, Yerushalayim!
Praise your God, Tziyon!
13 For he has strengthened the bars of your gates.
He has blessed your children within you.
14He makes shalom in your borders.
He fills you with the finest of the wheat.
15 He sends out his mitzvah on eretz.
His word runs very swiftly.
16 He gives snow like wool,
And scatters frost like ashes.
17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles.
Who can stand before his cold?
18 He sends out his word, and melts them.
He causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 He shows his word to Ya`akov;
His statutes and his ordinances to Yisra'el.
20 He has not done this for any nation;
They don't know his ordinances.
Praise the LORD!
PROVERBS: 27
1 Don't boast about tomorrow;
For you don't know what a day may bring forth.
2 Let another man praise you,
And not your own mouth;
A stranger, and not your own lips.
3 A stone is heavy, And sand is a burden;
But a fool's provocation is heavier than both.
4 Wrath is cruel,
And anger is overwhelming;
But who is able to stand before jealousy?
5 Better is open rebuke Than hidden love.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend;
Although the kisses of an enemy are profuse.
7 A full soul loathes a honeycomb;
But to a hungry soul, every bitter thing is sweet.
8 As a bird that wanders from her nest,
So is a man who wanders from his home.
9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart;
So does earnest counsel from a man's friend.
10 Don't forsake your friend and your father's friend.
Don't go to your brother's house in the day of your disaster:
Better is a neighbor who is near than a distant brother.
11 Be wise, my son,
And bring joy to my heart,
Then I can answer my tormentor.
12 A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge;
But the simple pass on, and suffer for it:
13 Take his garment when he puts up collateral for a stranger;
Hold it for a wayward woman!
14 He who blesses his neighbor with a loud voice early in the morning,
It will be taken as a curse by him.
15 A continual dropping on a rainy day
And a contentious wife are alike:
16 Restraining her is like restraining the wind,
Or like grasping oil in his right hand.
17 Iron sharpens iron;
So a man sharpens his friend's countenance.
18 Whoever tends the fig tree shall eat its fruit.
He who looks after his master shall be honored.
19 As water reflects a face,
So a man's heart reflects the man.
20 She'ol and Avaddon are never satisfied;
And a man's eyes are never satisfied.
21 The crucible is for silver,
And the furnace for gold;
But man is refined by his praise.
22 Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with grain,
Yet his foolishness will not be removed from him.
23 Know well the state of your flocks,
And pay attention to your herds:
24 For riches are not forever,
Nor does even the crown endure to all generations.
25 The hay is removed, and the new growth appears,
The grasses of the hills are gathered in.
26 The lambs are for your clothing,
And the goats are the price of a field.
27 There will be plenty of goats' milk for your food,
For your family's food,
And for the nourishment of your servant girls.
OLD TESTAMENT: EZEKIEL 33:1 - 34:31
33:1 The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman; 3 if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blow the shofar, and warn the people; 4 then whoever hears the sound of the shofar, and doesn't take warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head. 5 He heard the sound of the shofar, and didn't take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn't blow the shofar, and the people aren't warned, and the sword comes, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. 7 So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Yisra'el; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 8 When I tell the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you don't speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand. 9 Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn't turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul. 10 You, son of man, tell the house of Yisra'el: Thus you speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live? 11 Tell them, As I live, says the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn you, turn you from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Yisra'el? 12 You, son of man, tell the children of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his disobedience; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall he who is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sins. 13 When I tell the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he has committed, therein shall he die. 14 Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; 15 if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. 16 None of his sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. 17 Yet the children of your people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. 18 When the righteous turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall even die therein. 19 When the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. 20 Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. House of Yisra'el, I will judge you everyone after his ways. 21 It happened in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth [month], in the fifth [day] of the month, that one who had escaped out of Yerushalayim came to me, saying, The city has been struck. 22 Now the hand of the LORD had been on me in the evening, before he who was escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more mute. 23 The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 24 Son of man, they who inhabit those waste places in Eretz-Yisra'el speak, saying, Avraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance. 25 Therefore tell them, Thus says the Lord GOD: You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood: and shall you possess the land? 26 You stand on your sword, you work abomination, and you defile everyone his neighbor's wife: and shall you possess the land? 27 Thus shall you tell them, Thus says the Lord GOD: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and him who is in the open field will I give to the animals to be devoured; and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence. 28 I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Yisra'el shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through. 29 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed. 30 As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk of you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, everyone to his brother, saying, Please come and hear what is the word that comes forth from the LORD. 31 They come to you as the people comes, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don't do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain. 32 Behold, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they don't do them. 33 When this comes to pass, (behold, it comes,) then shall they know that a prophet has been among them.
34:1 The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Yisra'el, prophesy, and tell them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord GOD: Woe to the shepherds of Yisra'el who feed themselves! Shouldn't the shepherds feed the sheep? 3 You eat the fat, and you clothe you with the wool, you kill the fatlings; but you don't feed the sheep. 4 You haven't strengthened the diseased, neither have you healed that which was sick, neither have you bound up that which was broken, neither have you brought back that which was driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with rigor have you ruled over them.
5 They were scattered, because there was no shepherd; and they became food to all the animals of the field, and were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill: yes, my sheep were scattered on all the surface of the eretz; and there was none who searched or sought. 7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: 8 As I live, says the Lord GOD, surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the animals of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and didn't fed my sheep; 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: 10 Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them. 11 For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. 13 I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Yisra'el, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 I will feed them with good pasture; and on the mountains of the height of Yisra'el shall their fold be: there shall they lie down in a good fold; and on fat pasture shall they feed on the mountains of Yisra'el. 15 I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down, says the Lord GOD. 16 I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them in justice. 17 As for you, O my flock, thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats. 18 Seems it a small thing to you to have fed on the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? and to have drunk of the clear waters, but you must foul the residue with your feet? 19 As for my sheep, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet.
20 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD to them: Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Because you thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the diseased with your horns, until you have scattered them abroad; 22 therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23 I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 I, the LORD, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them; I, the LORD, have spoken it. 25 I will make with them a covenant of shalom, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land; and they shall dwell securely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. 26 I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in its season; there shall be showers of blessing. 27 The tree of the field shall yield its fruit, and the eretz shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them. 28 They shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shall the animals of the eretz devour them; but they shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid. 29 I will raise up to them a plantation for renown, and they shall be no more consumed with famine in the land, neither bear the shame of the nations any more. 30 They shall know that I, the LORD, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Yisra'el, are my people, says the Lord GOD. 31 You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, says the Lord GOD.
NEW TESTAMENT: HEBREWS 13:1 - 25
13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.
3 Remember those who are in bonds, as bound with them; and those who are ill-treated, since you are also in the body.
4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
5 Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, "I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."
6 So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What will man do to me?"
7 Remember your leaders, men who spoke to you the word of God, and considering the results of their conduct, imitate their faith.
8 Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
9 Don't be carried away by various and strange teachings, for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not by food, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.
10 We have an altar from which those who serve the holy tent have no right to eat.
11 For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the holy place by the Kohen Gadol as an offering for sin, are burned outside of the camp.
12 Therefore Yeshua also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered outside of the gate.
13 Let us therefore go forth to him outside of the camp, bearing his reproach.
14 For we don't have here an enduring city, but we seek that which is to come.
15 Through him, then, let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.
16 But don't forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
17 Obey those who have the rule over you, and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls, as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.
18 Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.
19 I strongly urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you sooner.
20 Now may the God of shalom, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Yeshua,
21 make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Yeshua the Messiah, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amein.
22 But I exhort you, brothers, endure the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.
23 Know that our brother Timothy has been freed, with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.
24 Greet all of your leaders and all the holy ones. The Italians greet you.
25 Grace be with you all. Amein.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
