PSALMS: 7
1 LORD, my God, I take refuge in you.
Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
2 Lest they tear apart my soul like a lion,
Rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3 LORD, my God, if I have done this,
If there is iniquity in my hands,
4 If I have rewarded evil to him who was at shalom with me
(Yes, I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),
5 Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it;
Yes, let him tread my life down to the eretz,
And lay my glory in the dust. Selah.
6 Arise, LORD, in your anger.
Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries.
Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.
7 Let the congregation of the peoples surround you.
Rule over them on high.
8 The LORD administers judgment to the peoples.
Judge me, LORD, according to my righteousness,
And to my integrity that is in me.
9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,
But establish the righteous;
Their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.
10 My shield is with God,
Who saves the upright in heart.
11 God is a righteous judge,
Yes, a God who has indignation every day.
12 If a man doesn't relent, he will sharpen his sword;
He has bent and strung his bow.
13 He has also prepared for himself the instruments of death.
He makes ready his flaming arrows.
14 Behold, he travails with iniquity;
Yes, he has conceived mischief and brought forth falsehood.
15 He has dug a hole,
And has fallen into the pit which he made.
16 The trouble he causes shall return to his own head.
His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.
17 I will give thanks to the LORD according to his righteousness,
And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Elyon.
PSALMS: 37
1 Don't fret because of evil-doers,
Neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good.
Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Also delight yourself in the LORD,
And he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD.
Trust also in him, and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteousness go forth as the light,
And your justice as the noon day sun.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him.
Don't fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath.
Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off,
But those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the land.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more.
Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.
11 But the humble shall inherit the land,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of shalom.
12 The wicked plots against the just,
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 The Lord will laugh at him,
For he sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword,
and have bent their bow,
To cast down the poor and needy,
To kill those who are upright in the way.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart.
Their bows shall be broken.
16 Better is a little that the righteous has,
Than the abundance of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the LORD upholds the righteous.
18 The LORD knows the days of the perfect.
Their inheritance shall be forever.
19 They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil.
In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish.
The enemies of the LORD shall be like the beauty of the fields.
They will vanish -- Vanish like smoke.
21 The wicked borrow, and don't pay back,
But the righteous give generously.
22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land.
Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 A man's goings are established by the LORD.
He delights in his way.
24 Though he stumble, he shall not fall,
For the LORD holds him up with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his children begging for bread.
26 All day long he deals graciously, and lends.
His seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good;
Live securely forever.
28 For the LORD loves justice,
And doesn't forsake his holy ones.
They are preserved forever,
But the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
And live in it forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom.
His tongue speaks justice.
31 The law of his God is in his heart.
None of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watches the righteous,
And seeks to kill him.
33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand,
Nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait for the LORD, and keep his way,
And he will exalt you to inherit the land.
When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power,
Spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
36 But he passed away, and, behold, he was not.
Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the perfect man, and see the upright,
For there is a future for the man of shalom.
38 As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together.
The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD.
He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
40 The LORD helps them, and rescues them.
He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them,
Because they have taken refuge in him.
PSALMS: 67
1 May God be merciful to us, bless us,
And cause his face to shine on us. Selah.
2 That your way may be known on eretz,
And your yeshu`ah among all nations,
3 Let the peoples praise you, God.
Let all the peoples praise you.
4 Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
For you will judge the peoples with equity,
And govern the nations on eretz.
Selah.
5 Let the peoples praise you, God.
Let all the peoples praise you.
6 The eretz has yielded its increase.
God, even our own God, will bless us.
7 God will bless us.
All the ends of the eretz shall fear him.
PSALMS: 97
1 The LORD reigns!
Let the eretz rejoice.
Let the multitude of islands be glad.
2 Clouds and darkness are around him.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 A fire goes before him,
And burns up his adversaries on every side.
4 His lightning lights up the world;
The eretz sees, and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole eretz.
6 The heavens declare his righteousness.
All the peoples have seen his glory.
7 Let all them be put to shame who serve engraved images,
Who boast in their idols.
Worship him, all you gods!
8 Tziyon heard and was glad.
The daughters of Yehudah rejoiced,
Because of your judgments, LORD.
9 For you, LORD, are most high above all the eretz.
You are exalted far above all gods.
10 You who love the LORD, hate evil.
He preserves the souls of his holy ones.
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous,
And gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Be glad in the LORD, you righteous people!
Give thanks to his holy Name.
PSALMS: 127
1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
The watchman guards it in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
To stay up late, Eating the bread of toil;
For he gives sleep to his loved ones.
3 Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD.
The fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man,
So are the children of youth.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.
They won't be put to shame when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
PROVERBS: 7
1 My son, keep my words.
Lay up my mitzvot within you.
2 Keep my mitzvot and live;
Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers.
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Tell wisdom, "You are my sister."
Call understanding your relative,
5 That they may keep you from the strange woman,
From the foreigner who flatters with her words.
6 For at the window of my house,
I looked forth through my lattice.
7 I saw among the simple ones.
I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,
8Passing through the street near her corner,
He went the way to her house,
9 In the twilight, in the evening of the day,
In the middle of the night and in the darkness.
10 Behold, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute,
And with crafty intent.
11 She is loud and defiant.
Her feet don't stay in her house.
12 Now she is in the streets, now in the squares,
And lurking at every corner.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him.
With an impudent face she said to him:
14 "Sacrifices of peace-offerings are with me.
This day I have paid my vows.
15 Therefore I came out to meet you,
To diligently seek your face, And I have found you.
16 I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry,
With striped cloths of the yarn of Mitzrayim.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh,
aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let's take our fill of loving until the morning.
Let's solace ourselves with loving.
19 For my husband isn't at home.
He has gone on a long journey.
20 He has taken a bag of money with him.
He will come home at the full moon."
21 With persuasive words, she led him astray.
With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.
22 He followed her immediately,
As an ox goes to the slaughter,
As a fool stepping into a noose.
23 Until an arrow strikes through his liver,
As a bird hurries to the snare,
And doesn't know that it will cost his life.
24 Now therefore, sons, listen to me.
Pay attention to the words of my mouth.
25 Don't let your heart turn to her ways.
Don't go astray in her paths,
26 For she has thrown down many wounded.
Yes, all her slain are a mighty host.
27 Her house is the way to She'ol,
Going down to the chambers of death.
OLD TESTAMENT: JUDGES 9:22 - 10:18
9:22 Avimelekh was prince over Yisra'el three years. 23 God sent an evil spirit between Avimelekh and the men of Shekhem; and the men of Shekhem dealt treacherously with Avimelekh: 24 that the violence done to the seventy sons of Yerubba`al might come, and that their blood might be laid on Avimelekh their brother, who killed them, and on the men of Shekhem, who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers. 25 The men of Shekhem set liers-in-wait for him on the tops of the mountains, and they robbed all who came along that way by them: and it was told Avimelekh. 26 Ga`al the son of `Eved came with his brothers, and went over to Shekhem; and the men of Shekhem put their trust in him. 27 They went out into the field, and gathered their vineyards, and trod [the grapes], and held festival, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Avimelekh. 28 Ga`al the son of `Eved said, Who is Avimelekh, and who is Shekhem, that we should serve him? Isn't he the son of Yerubba`al? and Zevul his officer? serve you the men of Hamor the father of Shekhem: but why should we serve him? 29 Would that this people were under my hand! then would I remove Avimelekh. He said to Avimelekh, Increase your army, and come out. 30 When Zevul the ruler of the city heard the words of Ga`al the son of `Eved, his anger was kindled. 31 He sent messengers to Avimelekh craftily, saying, Behold, Ga`al the son of `Eved and his brothers are come to Shekhem; and, behold, they constrain the city [to take part] against you. 32 Now therefore, up by night, you and the people who are with you, and lie in wait in the field: 33 and it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, you shall rise early, and rush on the city; and, behold, when he and the people who are with him come out against you, then may you do to them as you shall find occasion. 34 Avimelekh rose up, and all the people who were with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shekhem in four companies. 35 Ga`al the son of `Eved went out, and stood in the entrance of the gate of the city: and Avimelekh rose up, and the people who were with him, from the ambush. 36 When Ga`al saw the people, he said to Zevul, Behold, there come people down from the tops of the mountains. Zevul said to him, You see the shadow of the mountains as if they were men. 37 Ga`al spoke again and said, Behold, there come people down by the middle of the land, and one company comes by the way of the oak of Me`onenim. 38 Then said Zevul to him, Where is now your mouth, that you said, Who is Avimelekh, that we should serve him? is not this the people that you have despised? go out now, I pray, and fight with them. 39 Ga`al went out before the men of Shekhem, and fought with Avimelekh. 40 Avimelekh chased him, and he fled before him, and there fell many wounded, even to the entrance of the gate. 41 Avimelekh lived at Arumah: and Zevul drove out Ga`al and his brothers, that they should not dwell in Shekhem. 42 It happened on the next day, that the people went out into the field; and they told Avimelekh. 43 He took the people, and divided them into three companies, and laid wait in the field; and he looked, and, behold, the people came forth out of the city; He rose up against them, and struck them. 44 Avimelekh, and the companies that were with him, rushed forward, and stood in the entrance of the gate of the city: and the two companies rushed on all who were in the field, and struck them. 45 Avimelekh fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and killed the people who were therein: and he beat down the city, and sowed it with salt. 46 When all the men of the tower of Shekhem heard of it, they entered into the stronghold of the Beit-El-Berit. 47 It was told Avimelekh that all the men of the tower of Shekhem were gathered together. 48 Avimelekh got him up to Mount Tzalmon, he and all the people who were with him; and Avimelekh took an ax in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took it up, and laid it on his shoulder: and he said to the people who were with him, What you have seen me do, make haste, and do as I have done. 49 All the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Avimelekh, and put them to the stronghold, and set the stronghold on fire on them; so that all the men of the tower of Shekhem died also, about a thousand men and women. 50 Then went Avimelekh to Tevetz, and encamped against Tevetz, and took it. 51 But there was a strong tower within the city, and there fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut themselves in, and got them up to the roof of the tower. 52 Avimelekh came to the tower, and fought against it, and drew near to the door of the tower to burn it with fire. 53 A certain woman cast an upper millstone on Avimelekh's head, and broke his skull. 54 Then he called hastily to the young man his armor bearer, and said to him, Draw your sword, and kill me, that men not say of me, A woman killed him. His young man thrust him through, and he died. 55 When the men of Yisra'el saw that Avimelekh was dead, they departed every man to his place. 56 Thus God requited the wickedness of Avimelekh, which he did to his father, in killing his seventy brothers; 57 and all the wickedness of the men of Shekhem did God requite on their heads: and on them came the curse of Yotam the son of Yerubba`al.
10:1 After Avimelekh there arose to save Yisra'el Tola the son of Pu`ah, the son of Dodo, a man of Yissakhar; and he lived in Shamir in the hill-country of Efrayim. 2 He judged Yisra'el twenty-three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir. 3 After him arose Ya'ir, the Gil`adite; and he judged Yisra'el twenty-two years. 4 He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkey colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvot-Ya'ir to this day, which are in the land of Gil`ad. 5 Ya'ir died, and was buried in Kamon. 6 The children of Yisra'el again did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Ba`alim, and the `Ashtarot, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Tzidon, and the gods of Mo'av, and the gods of the children of `Ammon, and the gods of the Pelishtim; and they forsook the LORD, and didn't serve him. 7 The anger of the LORD was kindled against Yisra'el, and he sold them into the hand of the Pelishtim, and into the hand of the children of `Ammon. 8 They vexed and oppressed the children of Yisra'el that year: eighteen years [oppressed they] all the children of Yisra'el that were beyond the Yarden in the land of the Amori, which is in Gil`ad. 9 The children of `Ammon passed over the Yarden to fight also against Yehudah, and against Binyamin, and against the house of Efrayim; so that Yisra'el was sore distressed. 10 The children of Yisra'el cried to the LORD, saying, We have sinned against you, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Ba`alim. 11 The LORD said to the children of Yisra'el, Didn't I save you from the Mitzrim, and from the Amori, from the children of `Ammon, and from the Pelishtim? 12 The Tzidonim also, and the `Amaleki, and the Ma`on, did oppress you; and you cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand. 13 Yet you have forsaken me, and served other gods: therefore I will save you no more. 14 Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress. 15 The children of Yisra'el said to the LORD, We have sinned: do you to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, we pray you, this day. 16 They put away the foreign gods from among them, and served the LORD; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Yisra'el. 17 Then the children of `Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gil`ad. The children of Yisra'el assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mitzpah. 18 The people, the princes of Gil`ad, said one to another, What man is he who will begin to fight against the children of `Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gil`ad.
NEW TESTAMENT: LUKE 24:13 - 53
24:13 Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Amma'us, which was sixty stadia from Yerushalayim.
14 They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
15 It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Yeshua himself came near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
17 He said to them, "What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?"
18 One of them, named Klofah, answered him, "Are you the only stranger in Yerushalayim who doesn't know the things which have happened there in these days?"
19 He said to them, "What things?" They said to him, "The things concerning Yeshua, the Natzri, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
20 and how the chief Kohanim and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
21 But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Yisra'el. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
22 Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
23 and when they didn't find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24 Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn't see him."
25 He said to them, "Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26 Didn't the Messiah have to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?"
27 Beginning from Moshe and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
29 They urged him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over." He went in to stay with them.
30 It happened, when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.
31 Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.
32 They said one to another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?"
33 They rose up that very hour, and returned to Yerushalayim, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
34 saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Shim`on!"
35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
36 As they said these things, Yeshua himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, "Shalom be to you."
37 But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they saw a spirit.
38 He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn't have flesh and bones, as you see that I have."
40 When he had said this, he shown them his hands and his feet.
41 While they still didn't believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"
42 They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43 He took it, and ate in front of them.
44 He said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moshe, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled."
45 Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46 He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Messiah to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Yerushalayim.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49 Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with power from on high."
50 He led them out as far as to Beit-Anyah, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 It happened, while he blessed them, that he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.
52 They worshiped him, and returned to Yerushalayim with great joy,
53 and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amein.

9 תכלה רעת רשעים,
והכינו צדיקים;
לבבם ולבם יבחנו על ידי האל הצדיק.

12 איש לא ירפה, יחדד חרבו;
כרע ויתח קשתו.

1 אל תִּחְרַגֵּשׁ רָעִים,
ואל תִּקְנָא בְּעֹשֵׂי עֲוָלִים.
2 כִּי כַּעֲשָׂב יְקָרְבוּ,
וְיָבְלוּ כְּעֹשֶׂי יָרֵק.
3 בטח ב' וְעָשָׂה טוֹב.
שכן בארץ ומרעה בטוח.
4 והתענג בה',
ויתן לך את משאלות לבך.
5 הפקיד דרכך ליהוה.
וגם בטח בו והוא יעשה:
6 הוציא כאור צדקתך,
וכצהרי יום משפטך.

15 חֶרְבָם תִּבָּא בְּלִבָּם,

16 טוֹב מַעַט לַצַּדִּיק,

18 יְהוָה יוֹדֵעַ יְמֵי תְּלִימִים,
נחלתם תִּהְיֶה לְעוֹלָם.
19 לא יתביישו בעת רעה. בימי רעב ישבעו.
20 ורשעים יאבדו. אויבי ה' יהיו כיפי שדות. הם יעלמו -- כעשן.
21 רשעים לוו ולא ישלמו,
והצדיקים יתנו בנדיבות.
22 כי אשר ברוך בו יירשו ארץ. מקולליו ייכרתו.
23 הליכות איש יהוה כוננו. בדרכו חפץ.
24 כי ימעד, לא ייפול,
כי בידו יסמך ה'.
25 נער הייתי ועתה זקן,
ולא ראיתי צדיק נטוש,
ובניו מבקשים לחם.
26 כל היום הוא חנן ומלווה.
זרעו מבורך.
27 סור מרע ועשה טוב; חי לנצח.
28 כי יהוה אוהב משפט,
ואת קדושיו לא יעזוב. לעולם נשמרו,

ט':22 אבימלך היה נגיד על ישראל שלש שנים. כג' שלח אלוהים רוח רעה בין אבימלך ובין אנשי שכם, ויבגדו אנשי שכם באבימלך. כד' למען יבוא החמס שנעשה לשבעים בני ירבעל, ויישא דמם על אבימלך אחיו אשר הרגם, ועל אנשי שכם אשר חיזקו את ידיו להרוג את אחיו. כה ויעמידו אנשי שכם ארבים לו בראשי ההרים, וישדדו את כל הבאים בדרך דרכם. ויגיד לאבימלך. כז ויבא געל בן עבד ואחיו, ויעברו שכם, ובטחו בו אנשי שכם. 27 ויצאו השדה, ויבצרו את כרמיהם, ודרכו, ויעשו חג, ובאו בית אלוהיהם, ואכלו ושתו, ויקלו את אבימלך. 28 ויאמר געל בן עבד, מי אבימלך, ומי שכם, כי נעבדו? הלוא בן ירבעל הוא, וזבול שרתו, עבדו את אנשי חמור אבי שכם, ולמה נעבדו? 29 לו היה העם הזה תחת ידי, אז הייתי מסיר את אבימלך. ויאמר לאבימלך, הגדל את חילך, וצא. 30 וכאשר שמע זבול שר העיר את דברי געל בן עבד, חרה אפו. 31 וישלח מלאכים אל אבימלך בעורמה לאמר, הנה געל בן עבד ואחיו באו שכם; (לדוגמה, הם מהודקים את העיר עליך. (36) וַיַּרְא גַּעַל אֶת־הָעָם וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־זְבוּל הִנֵּה־עָם יוֹרְדִים מֵרֹאשִׁי ההרים. ויאמר אליו זבול, אתה רואה את צל ההרים כאילו היו בני אדם. 37 עוד דבר געל ויאמר, הנה אנשים יורדים מאמצע הארץ, וקהל אחד בא דרך אלון מעונים. 38 ויאמר אליו זבול, איה עכשיו פיך, אשר אמרת, מי אבימלך, כי נעבדו? הלוא זה העם אשר בזית? צא נא והלחם בהם. 39 ויצא געל לפני אנשי שכם, וילחם באבימלך. 40 וירדף אחריו אבימלך, וינס מפניו, ויפלו פצועים רבים עד פתח השער. 41 וישב אבימלך בארומה; ויגרש זבול את געל ואת אחיו, ולא ישבו בשכם. 42 ויהי למחרת, ויצא העם השדה; ויגידו לאבימלך. מג ויקח את העם ויחלק אותם לשלוש גדודות ויארב בשדה וירא והנה העם יוצא מן העיר ויקם עליהם ויכהם. מד אבימלך והגדות אשר עמו מיהרו ויעומדו פתח שער העיר ושתי הגדות יהרגו על כל אשר בשדה ויכו אותם. מה אבימלך נלחם בעיר כל היום ההוא וילכד את העיר והרג את העם אשר בה ויהרוס את העיר וזרעה במלח. וכאשר שמעו כל אנשי מגדל שכם, ובאו אל-מצודת בית אל-ברית. ז ויגד לאבימלך כי-נאספו כל אנשי מגדל שכם. מח אבימלך עלה אל הר צלמון הוא וכל העם אשר עמו וייקח אבימלך גרזן בידו וכרת ענף מן העצים ויישא אותו וישם אותו על כתפו ויאמר אל העם אשר עמו את אשר ראיתם אותי עושה מהרו ועשו כאשר עשיתי.מט וכל העם כרת איש ענפו וילכו אחרי אבימלך וישימו אותם אל המצודה ויציתו את המצודה עליהם וימתו גם כל אנשי מגדל שכם כאלף איש ונשים.נ וילך אבימלך תבץ ויחנה על תבץ וילכדה.נ ומגדל חזק היה בתוך העיר ובשם נמלטו כל האנשים והנשים וכל אנשי העיר ויסגרו בהם ויעלו על גג המגדל. 52 אבימלך בא אל המגדל, וילחם בו, ויגש אל פתח המגדל לשרוף אותו באש. 53 ואישה אחת זרקה אבן ריחיים עליונה על ראש אבימלך, ותשבר את גולגולתו.54 ויקרא במהרה אל הנער נושא כליו ויאמר אליו שלף את חרבך והרגני פן יאמרו עלי אשה הרגה אותו וידקר אותו נער וימת. 55 ויראו אנשי ישראל כי מת אבימלך וילכו איש למקומו. 56 וישב אלהים את עון אבימלך אשר עשה לאביו להרוג את שבעים אחיו. 57 ואת כל עון אנשי שכם השיב אלהים בראשם ותה עליהם קללת יותם בן ירבעל.
10:1 אחרי אבימלך קם להושיע את ישראל תולע בן פועה בן דודו איש יששכר והוא ישב בשמיר בהר אפרים. 2 וישפט את ישראל עשרים ושלוש שנה, וימת וייקבר בשמיר. 3 אחריו קם יאיר הגלעדי, וישפט את ישראל עשרים ושתיים שנה. 4 היו לו שלושים בנים רכבו על שלושים עירים, והיו להם שלושים ערים, אשר נקראות חבות יאיר עד היום הזה, אשר בארץ גלעד. 5 וימת יאיר וייקבר בקמון. 6 בני ישראל עוד לעשות את הרע בעיני ה', ויעבדו את הבעלים ואת העשתרות ואת אלהי ארם ואת אלהי צידון ואת אלהי מואב ואת אלהי בני עמון ואת אלהי הפלשתים; ויעזבו את ה' ולא עבדו אותו. ז וַיַּחַר אֶפֶן יְהוָה בֵּישָׂרָאֵל וַיַּמְכָּרְם בְּיַד הַפְּלִשְׁתִּים וּבְיַד בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן. ח וַיְעַנְווּ וַיְעַקְווּ אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּשָּׁנָה הַהוּא שְׁמֶשְׁנָה שְׁנָה עַל כָּל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר אִתְּעָרַת הַאֲמוֹרִי אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּלְעָד. ט וַיַּעֲבָרוּ בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן אֶת הַיַּרְדֶּן לְהִלָּחֵם גַּם בְּיְהוּדָה וְבִבִּנְיָמִין וַיְצַר לֵיִשְׂרָאֵל מְאֹד. י וַיִּקְעוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל יְהוָה לֵאמֹר חַטָאנוּ לְךָ כִּי עָזְבְנוּ אֶת אֱלֹהֵינוּ וַיַּעֲבֹדְנוּ אֶת בַּעֲלִים. יא ויאמר ה' אל בני ישראל הלוא מן המצרים ומן האמורי ומן בני עמון ומן הפלשתים הושיעתי אתכם. יב וגם הצידונים והעמלקים והמעון לחצו אתכם ותצעקו אלי ואושיע אתכם מידם. יג ועזבתם אותי ועבדתם אלהים אחרים לכן לא אושיע אתכם עוד. 14 לכו וצעקו אל האלהים אשר בחרתם ויושיעו אתכם בעת צרכם. 15 ויאמרו בני ישראל אל ה' חטאנו עשה לנו כטוב בעיניך רק הושיענו נא היום. 16 ויסירו את אלהי הנכר מקרבם ויעבדו את ה' ותעצב נפשו על עניי ישראל. יז וַיִּקְהֲבוּ בְנֵי עַמּוֹן וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּגִלְעָד וַיִּקְהֲבוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּמִצְפָּה. יח וַיֹּאמְרוּ הָעָם שְׂרֵי גִלְעָד איש אֶל־רֵעָם מִי־אִישׁ יְחַל לִהְלָם עַל־בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן הוּא יִהְיֶה לָרֹאשׁ עַל־כָל־יֹשְׁבֵי גִלְעָד.

כ"ד:13 הנה, שניים מהם הלכו באותו יום אל כפר בשם אמאוס, אשר נמצא שישים סטדי מירושלים.
14 הם שוחחו זה עם זה על כל הדברים האלה אשר קרו.
15 ויהי, בעודם מדברים ומתלבטים זה עם זה, ישוע עצמו ניגש והלך איתם.
16 אך עיניהם נעצרו מלזהותו.
17 אמר להם: "על מה אתם מדברים בהולכים ועצובים?"
18 ענה לו אחד מהם, שמו קלופה, "האם אתה הזר היחיד בירושלים שאינו יודע את הדברים אשר קרו שם בימים אלה?"
19 אמר להם: "אילו דברים?" אמרו לו: "דברים על ישוע הנצרי, אשר היה נביא, גבור במעשה ובדיבור לפני אלוהים וכל העם; 20 וכיצד מסרו אותו ראשי הכוהנים וראשינו לגזירת מוות וצלבו אותו. 21 אבל קיווינו שזה הוא אשר יגאל את ישראל. כן, וחוץ מכל זה, כבר היום השלישי מאז שקרו הדברים האלה. 22 וגם נשים מבני עמנו הדהימו אותנו, לאחר שהגיעו מוקדם לקבר; 23 וכאשר לא מצאו את גופתו, באו ואמרו שראו גם חזון של מלאכים, שאמרו שהוא חי. 24 חלק מאיתנו הלכו לקבר ומצאו אותו כדברי הנשים, אך לא ראו אותו."
25 אמר להם: "אנשים טיפשים ואיטיי לב להאמין בכל אשר דיברו הנביאים! 26 האם לא היה על המשיח לסבול את הדברים האלה ולהיכנס לתפארתו?"
27 החל ממשה ומכל הנביאים, וביאר להם בכל הכתובים את הדברים על עצמו.
28 הם התקרבו לכפר שאליו היו הולכים, והוא עשה כאילו הוא הולך הלאה.
29 הם הפצירו בו ואמרו: "הישאר איתנו, כי כבר ערב והיום כמעט נגמר." הוא נכנס כדי לשהות איתם.
30 ויהי, כאשר ישב איתם אל השולחן, לקח את הלחם, ברכה, בצע אותו ונתן להם.
31 עיניהם נפקחו, והם הכירו אותו, והוא נעלם מעיניהם.
32 הם אמרו זה לזה: "האם לא בער לבנו בקרבנו, כאשר דיבר אלינו בדרך, כאשר פתח לנו את הכתובים?" 33 באותה שעה קמו וישבו לירושלים ומצאו את אחד עשר נאספים יחד ואת אלה שהיו עמהם,
34 אמרו: "אכן קם האדון לתחייה ונראה לשמעון!"
35 סיפרו את הדברים שקרו בדרך, וכיצד הם זיהו אותו בבכי הלחם.
36 כשהם אמרו את הדברים האלה, ישוע עצמו עמד בתוכם ואמר להם: "שלום לכם!"
37 אבל הם נבהלו ופחדו, וחשבו שהם רואים רוח.
38 אמר להם: "למה אתם נבהלים? למה ספקות עולים בלבבכם?
39 ראו את ידי ואת רגלי, כי אני הוא באמת. געו בי וראו, כי לרוח אין בשר ועצמות, כפי שאתם רואים שיש לי."
40 לאחר שאמר זאת, הראה להם את ידיו ואת רגליו.
41 בעודם עדיין לא האמינו מרוב שמחה ותהו, אמר להם: "האם יש לכם כאן משהו לאכול?"
42 הם נתנו לו חתיכת דג צלוי ומעט חלת דבש.
43 הוא לקח אותה ואכל לעיניהם.
44 אמר להם: "זה מה שאמרתי לכם כשהייתי עדיין עמכם, שכל הכתוב עליי בתורת משה, בנביאים ובתהילים חייב להתקיים."
45 ואז פתח את דעתם כדי שיבינו את הכתובים. 46 אמר להם: "כה כתוב, וכך היה צריך שהמשיח יסבול ויקום מן המתים ביום השלישי,
47 ותשובה וסליחת חטאים יתבשר בשמו לכל הגויים, החל מירושלים.
48 אתם עדים לדברים אלה.
49 הנה אני שולח לכם את הבטחת אבי. אבל חכו בעיר ירושלים עד שתלבשו בגבורה מלמעלה."
50 הוא הוביל אותם עד בית עניה, הרים את ידיו וברך אותם.
51 ויהי, בעודו מברך אותם, הוא התרחק מהם ונשא השמיימה.
52 הם השתחוו לו, וחזרו לירושלים בשמחה גדולה.
53 והיו תמיד בבית המקדש, מהללים ומברכים את אלוהים. אמן.

G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
