1 For the leader.

A psalm of David:
ADONAI, don't rebuke me in your anger,
don't discipline me in the heat of your fury.
2 Be gracious to me, ADONAI,
because I am withering away;
heal me, ADONAI, because my bones are shaking;
3 I am completely terrified;
and you, ADONAI - how long?
4 Come back, ADONAI, and rescue me!
Save me for the sake of your grace;
5 for in death, no one remembers you;
in Sh'ol, who will praise you?
6 I am worn out with groaning;
all night I drench my bed with tears,
flooding my couch till it swims.
7 My vision is darkened with anger;
it grows weak because of all my foes.
8 Get away from me, all you workers of evil!
For ADONAI has heard the sound of my weeping,
9 ADONAI has heard my pleading,
ADONAI will accept my prayer.
10 All my enemies will be confounded, completely terrified;
they will turn back and be suddenly put to shame.
PSALMS: 36
1 For the leader.
By David, the servant of ADONAI:
Crime speaks to the wicked.
I perceive this in my heart;
before his eyes there is no fear of God.
2 For, the way he sees it, crime makes his life easy that is,
until his wrongs are discovered;
then, he is hated.
3 His words are wrong and deceitful;
he has stopped being wise and doing good.
4 He devises trouble as he lies in bed;
so set is he on his own bad way that he doesn't hate evil.
5 ADONAI, in the heavens is your grace;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God,
your judgments are like the great deep.
You save man and beast, ADONAI.
7 How precious, God, is your grace!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings,
8 they feast on the rich bounty of your house,
and you have them drink from the stream of your delights.
9 For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
10 Continue your grace to those who know you
and your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Don't let the foot of the proud tread on me
or the hands of the wicked drive me away.
12 There they lie fallen, those evildoers,
flung down and unable to rise.

A song.
A psalm:
Shout to God, all the earth!
2 Sing the glory of his name,
make his praise glorious.
3 Tell God, "How awesome are your deeds!
At your great power, your enemies cringe.
4 All the earth bows down to you, sings praises to you,
sings praises to your name."

5 Come and see what God has done,
his awesome dealings with humankind.
6 He turned the sea into dry land.
They passed through the river on foot;
there we rejoiced in him.
7 With his power he rules forever;
his eyes keep watch on the nations.
Let no rebel arise to challenge him.
8 Bless our God, you peoples!
Let the sound of his praise be heard!
9 He preserves our lives and keeps our feet from stumbling.

10 For you, God, have tested us,
refined us as silver is refined.
11 You brought us into the net
and bound our bodies fast.
12 You made men ride over our heads;
we went through fire and water.
But you brought us out to a place of plenty.
13 I will come into your house with burnt offerings,
I will fulfill my vows to you,
14 those my lips pronounced and my mouth spoke
when I was in distress.
15 I will offer you burnt offerings of fattened animals,
along with the sweet smoke of rams;
I will offer bulls and goats. (Selah)
16 Come and listen, all you who fear God,
and I will tell what he has done for me.
17 I cried out to him with my mouth,
his praise was on my tongue.
18 Had I cherished evil thoughts,
Adonai would not have listened.
19 But in fact, God did listen;
he paid attention to my prayer.
20 Blessed be God, who did not reject my prayer
or turn his grace away from me.
PSALMS: 96
1 Sing to ADONAI a new song!
Sing to ADONAI, all the earth!
2 Sing to ADONAI, bless his name!
Proclaim his victory day after day!
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his wonders among all peoples!
4 For ADONAI is great, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be feared more than all gods.
5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
but ADONAI made the heavens.
6 In his presence are honor and majesty;
in his sanctuary, strength and splendor.
7 Give ADONAI his due, you families from the peoples;
give ADONAI his due of glory and strength;
8 give ADONAI the glory due to his name;
bring an offering, and enter his courtyards.
9 Worship ADONAI in holy splendor;
tremble before him, all the earth!
10 Say among the nations, "ADONAI is king!
"The world is firmly established, immovable.
He will judge the peoples fairly.
11 Let the heavens rejoice; let the earth be glad;
let the sea roar, and everything in it;
12 let the fields exult and all that is in them.
Then all the trees in the forest will sing
13 before ADONAI, because he has come, he has come to judge the earth;
he will judge the world rightly and the peoples with his faithfulness.
PSALMS: 126
1 When the LORD brought back those who returned to Tziyon,
We were like those who dream.
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing.
Then said they among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."
3 The LORD has done great things for us,
And we are glad.
4 Restore our fortunes again, LORD,
Like the streams in the Negev.
5 Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.
6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing,
Will assuredly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.
PROVERBS: 6
1 My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor,
If you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger;
2 You are trapped by the words of your mouth.
You are ensnared with the words of your mouth.
3 Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself,
Seeing you have come into the hand of your neighbor.
Go, humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor.
4 Give no sleep to your eyes,
Nor slumber to your eyelids.
5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
Like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard.
Consider her ways, and be wise;
7 Which having no chief, Overseer, or ruler,
8 Provides her bread in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
9 How long will you sleep, sluggard?
When will you arise out of your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to sleep:
11 So your poverty will come as a robber,
And your scarcity as an armed man.
12 A worthless person, a man of iniquity,
Is he who walks with a perverse mouth;
13 Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet,
Who motions with his fingers;
14 In whose heart is perverseness,
Who devises evil continually,
Who always sows discord.
15 Therefore his calamity will come suddenly.
He will be broken suddenly, and that without remedy.
16 There are six things which the LORD hates;
Yes, seven which are an abomination to him:
17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood;
18 A heart that devises wicked schemes,
Feet that are swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness who utters lies,
And he who sows discord among brothers.
20 My son, keep your father's mitzvah,
And don't forsake your mother's teaching.
21 Bind them continually on your heart.
Tie them around your neck.
22 When you walk, it will lead you.
When you sleep, it will watch over you.
When you awake, it will talk with you.
23 For the mitzvah is a lamp,
And the law is light.
Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,
24 To keep you from the immoral woman,
From the flattery of the wayward wife's tongue.
25 Don't lust after her beauty in your heart,
Neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.
26 For a prostitute reduces you to a piece of bread.
The adulteress hunts for your precious life.
27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap,
And his clothes not be burned?
28 Or can one walk on hot coals,
And his feet not be scorched?
29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife.
Whoever touches her will not be unpunished.
30 Men don't despise a thief,
If he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry:
31 But if he be found, he shall restore seven times.
He shall give all the wealth of his house.
32 He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding.
He who does it destroys his own soul.
33 He will get wounds and dishonor.
His reproach will not be wiped away.
34 For jealousy arouses the fury of the husband.
He won't spare in the day of vengeance.
35 He won't regard any ransom,
Neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
OLD TESTAMENT: JUDGES 8:18 - 9:21
8:18 Then said he to Zevach and Tzalmunnah, What manner of men were they whom you killed at Tavor? They answered, As you are, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king. 19 He said, They were my brothers, the sons of my mother: as the LORD lives, if you had saved them alive, I would not kill you. 20 He said to Yeter his firstborn, Up, and kill them. But the youth didn't draw his sword; for he feared, because he was yet a youth. 21 Then Zevach and Tzalmunnah said, Rise you, and fall on us; for as the man is, so is his strength. Gid`on arose, and killed Zevach and Tzalmunnah, and took the crescents that were on their camels' necks. 22 Then the men of Yisra'el said to Gid`on, Rule you over us, both you, and your son, and your son's son also; for you have saved us out of the hand of Midyan. 23 Gid`on said to them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you. 24 Gid`on said to them, I would make a request of you, that you would give me every man the ear-rings of his spoil. (For they had golden ear-rings, because they were Yishme`elim.) 25 They answered, We will willingly give them. They spread a garment, and did cast therein every man the ear-rings of his spoil. 26 The weight of the golden ear-rings that he requested was one thousand and seven hundred [shekels] of gold, besides the crescents, and the pendants, and the purple clothing that was on the kings of Midyan, and besides the chains that were about their camels' necks. 27 Gid`on made an efod of it, and put it in his city, even in Ofrat: and all Yisra'el played the prostitute after it there; and it became a snare to Gid`on, and to his house. 28 So Midyan was subdued before the children of Yisra'el, and they lifted up their heads no more. The land had rest forty years in the days of Gid`on. 29 Yerubba`al the son of Yo'ash went and lived in his own house. 30 Gid`on had seventy sons conceived from his body; for he had many wives. 31 His concubine who was in Shekhem, she also bore him a son, and he named him Avimelekh. 32 Gid`on the son of Yo'ash died in a good old age, and was buried in the tomb of Yo'ash his father, in Ofrat of the Abiezrites. 33 It happened, as soon as Gid`on was dead, that the children of Yisra'el turned again, and played the prostitute after the Ba`alim, and made Ba`al-Berit their god. 34 The children of Yisra'el didn't remember the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hand of all their enemies on every side; 35 neither shown they kindness to the house of Yerubba`al, [who is] Gid`on, according to all the goodness which he had shown to Yisra'el.
19:1 Avimelekh the son of Yerubba`al went to Shekhem to his mother's brothers, and spoke with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying, 2 Please speak in the ears of all the men of Shekhem, Whether is better for you, that all the sons of Yerubba`al, who are seventy persons, rule over you, or that one rule over you? Remember also that I am your bone and your flesh. 3 His mother's brothers spoke of him in the ears of all the men of Shekhem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Avimelekh; for they said, He is our brother. 4 They gave him seventy [pieces] of silver out of the house of Ba`al-Berit, with which Avimelekh hired vain and light fellows, who followed him. 5 He went to his father's house at Ofrat, and killed his brothers the sons of Yerubba`al, being seventy persons, on one stone: but Yotam the youngest son of Yerubba`al was left; for he hid himself. 6 All the men of Shekhem assembled themselves together, and all the house of Millo, and went and made Avimelekh king, by the oak of the pillar that was in Shekhem. 7 When they told it to Yotam, he went and stood on the top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said to them, Listen to me, you men of Shekhem, that God may listen to you. 8 The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said to the olive tree, Reign you over us. 9 But the olive tree said to them, Should I leave my fatness, with which by me they honor God and man, and go to wave back and forth over the trees? 10 The trees said to the fig tree, Come, and reign over us. 11 But the fig tree said to them, Should I leave my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to wave back and forth over the trees? 12 The trees said to the vine, Come, and reign over us. 13 The vine said to them, Should I leave my new wine, which cheers God and man, and go to wave back and forth over the trees? 14 Then said all the trees to the bramble, Come, and reign over us. 15 The bramble said to the trees, If in truth you anoint me king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade; and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Levanon. 16 Now therefore, if you have dealt truly and righteously, in that you have made Avimelekh king, and if you have dealt well with Yerubba`al and his house, and have done to him according to the deserving of his hands 17 (for my father fought for you, and adventured his life, and delivered you out of the hand of Midyan: 18 and you are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, seventy persons, on one stone, and have made Avimelekh, the son of his maid-servant, king over the men of Shekhem, because he is your brother); 19 if you then have dealt truly and righteously with Yerubba`al and with his house this day, then rejoice you in Avimelekh, and let him also rejoice in you: 20 but if not, let fire come out from Avimelekh, and devour the men of Shekhem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shekhem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Avimelekh.
21 Yotam ran away, and fled, and went to Be'er, and lived there, for fear of Avimelekh his brother.
NEW TESTAMENT: LUKE 23:44 - 24:12
23:44 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour. 45 The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. 46 Yeshua, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!" Having said this, he breathed his last. 47 When the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, "Certainly this was a righteous man." 48 All the multitudes that came together to see this, when they saw the things that were done, returned beating their breasts. 49 All his acquaintances, and the women who followed with him from the Galil, stood far away, watching these things. 50 Behold, a man named Yosef, who was a member of the council, a good and righteous man 51 (he had not consented to their counsel and deed), from Ramatayim, a city of the Yehudim, who was also waiting for the kingdom of God: 52 this man went to Pilate, and asked for Yeshua' body. 53 He took it down, and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was cut in stone, where no man had ever yet lain. 54 It was the day of the Preparation, and the Shabbat was coming on. 55 The women, who had come with him out of the Galil, followed after, and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid. 56 They returned, and prepared spices and ointments. On the Shabbat they rested according to the mitzvah.
24:1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 They entered in, and didn't find the Lord Yeshua' body. 4 It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing. 5 Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the eretz. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He isn't here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in the Galil, 7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?" 8 They remembered his words, 9 returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 Now they were Miryam from Magdala, Yochanah, and Miryam the mother of Ya`akov. The other women with them told these things to the apostles. 11 These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn't believe them. 12 But Kefa got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.

3 נבהלתי מאוד;

4 שוב ה' והושיעני! הושיעני למען חסדך;

בשאול מי יהללך?

פשע מדבר לרשעים.
את זאת אבחנתי בליבי;

2 כי, כפי שהוא רואה זאת, פשע מקל על חייו, כלומר,
עד שיתגלו עוונותיו;
ואז, הוא שנוא.
3 דבריו רשעים ומרמה;
הוא חדל להיות חכם ולעשות טוב.
4 הוא חוקר צרות בשכיבה במיטתו;
כך הוא שקוע בדרכו הרעה ולא ישנא רע.
5 ה', בשמים חסדך;
עד השמיים אמונתך מגיעה.

אל יקום מורד לאתגר אותו.
8 ברכו עמים את אלוהינו! יישמע קול תהילתו! 9 הוא שומר על חיינו וישמור רגלינו ממעידה.

הוא ישפוט את העמים בצדק.

אז ישירו כל עצי היער.
13 לפני ה' כי בא, בא לשפוט את הארץ; ישפוט תבל בצדק, ועמים באמתתו.

1 בהשיב ה' את שביי ציון,
היינו כחולמים.
2 אז ימלא פינו צחוק,
ולשוננו שירה.
אז יאמרו בגויים,
"ה' עשה להם גדלות".

4 השב את שבתנו, ה',
כנחלים בנגב.
5 הזורעים בדמעה יקצרו בשמחה.

4 אל תתן שינה לעיניך,

6 לך אל הנמלה, עצלנית. שים לב לדרכיה וחכם;
7 אשר אין לה שר, מפקח או שליט,

מתי תקום משנתך?
10 מעט שינה, מעט תנומה,
מעט קיפול ידיים לישון:
11 כך יבוא עוניך כשודד,
ומחסורך כאיש חמוש.
12 איש שווא, איש עוולה,
הולך בפה מעוות;
13 אשר קורץ בעיניו, אשר מאותת ברגליו,
אשר רומז באצבעותיו;
14 אשר בלבו עיוות,
התבונן רע תמיד,
הזורע מחלוקת תמיד.
15 לכן פתאום תבוא אסון שלו.
פתאום ישבר, וללא תרפא.
16 שש דברים אשר שנא ה';
כן, שבע אשר תועבות לו:
17 עיניים גאוות, לשון שקר,
ידיים שופכות דם נקי;
18 לב חוקר מזימות רעות,
רגליים מהירות לרוץ לרעה,
19 עד שקר מדבר שקר,
וזורע מחלוקת בין אחים.
20 בני שמור מצוות אביך,
ואל תזנח תורת אמך.
21 קשר אותם תמיד על לבך,
קשר אותם על צוארך.
22 בהלכתך היא תוביל אותך,
בשנתך היא תשמור עליך,
בהקיץ תדבר איתך.
23 כי נר היא מצווה,
ותורה היא אור.
תוכחות מוסר הן דרך חיים,
24 לשמרך מאישה זרה,
מחנופת לשון רעה.
25 אל תתאווה ליופייה בלבך,
ואל תתן לה לרתק אותך בעפעפיה.
26 כי זונה מפחיתה אותך לפת לחם. נואפת צדה את נפשך היקרה.
27 האם יִחַפֵּר אִישׁ אֵשׁ בְּחִיקו,
ובגדיו לֹא יֵשׁוּרְפוּ?
28 או האם יִהְלֹךְ עַל גחלים לוהטות,
ורגליו לֹא יֵשׁוּרְפוּ?
29 כן הבא אל אשת רעהו.
כל הנוגע בה לא יִנָּקָה.
30 לא יבוזים גנב,
אם יגנוב לשובע כְּשֶׁרֶב יְגָנֵב:
31 ואם ימצא, ישיב שבעה.
את כל הון ביתו יתן.
32 מי שֶׁנָּאֵף אֲשֶׁר בָּאֲשָׁה בְּטָנוּת, מי שעושה זאת יפגע בנפשו.
33 יפגע בפצעים ובכְּלוּב, חרפתו לא תימחה.
34 כי קנאה מעוררת את חמתו של הבעל.
לא יחוס ביום נקמה.
35 לא יחשב כופר,
וגם לא ישמח, גם אם תרב מתנות.
הברית הישנה: שופטים ח', יח - ט', כא
ח', יח ויאמר אל זבח וצלמונה, מה היו האנשים אשר הרגתם בתבור? ויאמרו, כאתה כן היו, כל אחד דומה לבני מלך. יט ויאמר, אחי היו בני אמי, חי יהוה, אילו חייתם אותם, לא הייתי מורחת אתכם. 20 ויאמר אל יתר בכורו, קום והרגתם. ולא שלף הנער את חרבו, כי ירא, כי עוד נער הוא. 21 ויאמר זבח וצלמונה, קום ופגע בנו, כי כהאיש, כן כוחו. ויקם גדעון, והרג את זבח וצלמונה, וייקח את הסהרונים אשר על צוארי גמליהם. 22 ויאמרו אנשי ישראל אל גדעון, משול אתה בנו, גם אתה וגם בנך וגם בן בנך, כי הצלת אותנו מיד מדין. 23 ויאמר אלהם גדעון, לא אמשול בכם, וגם בני לא ימשול בכם, ה' ימשול בכם. 24 ויאמר אלהם גדעון, אבקש מכם, ותתנו לי איש את-נזמי שללו, כי-נזמי זהב היו להם, כי ישמעאלים היו. 25 ויאמרו, נשמח לתת. ויפרשו בגד, וישליכו שם איש את-נזמי שללו. 26 משקל עגיל הזהב אשר ביקש היה אלף ושבע מאות שקל זהב, מלבד הסהר והשרשרת והארגמן אשר היה על מלכי מדין ומלבד השרשראות אשר היו על צוארי גמליהם. 27 גדעון עשה ממנו אפוד וישם אותו בעירו בעפרת ויזנו אחריו שם כל ישראל ויהי למלכודת לגדעון ולביתו. 28 ויכנע מדין לפני בני ישראל ולא הרימו עוד ראשם. הארץ שקטה ארבעים שנה בימי גדעון. 29 ירבעל בן יואש הלך וישב בביתו. 30 לגדעון שבעים בנים הרות ממנו כי נשים רבות היו לו. 31 ופילגשו אשר בשכם, גם היא ילדה לו בן, ויקרא שמו אבימלך. 32 גדעון בן יואש מת בשיבה טובה, וייקבר בקבר יואש אביו בעפרת האבעזרי. 33 ויהי כמת גדעון, וישבו בני ישראל, ויזנו אחרי הבעלים, ויעשו את בעל ברית להם לאלהים. 34 ולא זכרו בני ישראל את ה' אלהיהם, אשר הציל אותם מיד כל אויביהם מסביב; 35 ולא עשו חסד לבית ירבעל, הוא גדעון, ככל הטוב אשר עשה לישראל.
יט:א וילך אבימלך בן ירבעל שכם אל אחי אמו וידבר אתם ועם כל משפחת בית אבי אמו לאמר ב דברו נא באזני כל אנשי שכם הַיָּבֶר לָכֶם שֶׁמִּשְׁלֹחִים כָּל בני ירבעל שבעים איש הם או שאחד ימשול בכם וזכרו כי אני עצמותכם ובשרכם ג וידברו עליו אחי אמו באזני כל אנשי שכם את כל הדברים האלה ויטה לבבם אחרי אבימלך כי אמרו אחינו הוא ד ויתנו לו שבעים כסף מבית בעל ברית ושכר בהם אבימלך אנשים ריקם וקלים וילכו אחריו ה וילך בית אביו בעפרת, והרג את אחיו בני ירבעל שבעים איש על אבן אחת, ויותם הצעיר של ירבעל נשאר, כי הסתתר. ו ויאספו כל אנשי שכם וכל בית מילוא, וילכו וימליכו את אבימלך על אלון העמוד אשר בשכם. ז ויגידו ליותם, וילך ויעמד על ראש הר גריזים, וישא את קולו, ויצעק, ויאמר אלהם, שמעו לי אנשי שכם, ושמע אלוהים אתכם. ח והעצים יצאו פעם למשוח עליהם מלך, ויאמרו אל עץ הזית, מלך אתה עלינו. ט ויאמר להם עץ הזית, האעזב את משמני, אשר בי מכבדים את אלהים ואת האדם, ואלך לנופף על העצים? 10 ויאמרו העצים לתאנה, "בוא ומלוך עלינו". 11 ויאמר להם התאנה, "העזב את מתיקי ואת פרי הטוב שלי, ואלך לנופף על העצים?" 12 ויאמרו העצים לגפן, "בוא ומלוך עלינו". 13 ויאמר להם הגפן, "העזב את תירושי החדש, אשר משמח את אלהים ואת האדם, ואלך לנופף על העצים?" 14 ויאמרו כל העצים לקוץ, "בוא ומלוך עלינו". 15 ויאמר הקוץ לעצים, "אם באמת תמשחו אותי למלך עליכם, בואו וחסו בצילי; ואם לא, תצא אש מן הקוץ ותאכל את ארזי הלבנון". טז ועתה אם באמת וצדק עשיתם אשר המליכתם את אבימלך ואם היטיבתם עם ירבעל ועם ביתו ועשיתם לו כראוי ידיו יז כי אבי נלחם בכם והציל את נפשו והציל אתכם מיד מדין יח ואתם קמתם על בית אבי היום והרגתם את בניו שבעים איש על אבן אחת ואת אבימלך בן שפחתו המליכתם על אנשי שכם כי אחיכם הוא יט אם באמת וצדק עשיתם עם ירבעל ועם ביתו היום שמחו באבימלך וגם הוא ישמח בכם ואם לאו תצא אש מאבימלך ותאכל את אנשי שכם ואת בית מילוא וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ מֵאֶנְשֵׁי שֶׁכֶם וּמִבִּית מִלּוּא וַתִּאֲכֹל אֶבִּימֶלֶךְ.
21 וַיַּבְרַח יוֹתָם וַיָּבֹר בָּאֵר וַיַּשְׁב שָׁם מִפְּנֵי אֲבִימֶלֶךְ אָחִיו׃

כ"ג:44 כשעה השישית הייתה, וחושך ירד על כל הארץ עד השעה התשיעית. 45 והשמש החשיך, ופרכת בית המקדש נקרעה לשניים. 46 ישוע צעק בקול גדול ואמר: "אבי, בידיך אני מפקיד את רוחי!" לאחר שאמר זאת, נשם את נשימתו האחרונה. 47 כאשר ראה המאה את הנעשה, שיבח את אלוהים ואמר: "אכן צדיק היה זה." 48 כל ההמונים אשר באו לראות זאת, כשראו את הדברים אשר נעשו, חזרו והכו על חזהם. 49 כל מכרותיו והנשים אשר הלכו אחריו מגליל עמדו מרחוק וצפו בדברים אלה. 50 הנה איש בשם יוסף, אשר היה חבר הסנהדרין, איש טוב וצדיק, 51 (לא הסכים לעצתם ולמעשיהם), מרמתיים, עיר יהודית, אשר גם הוא חיכה למלכות אלוהים. 52 האיש הזה הלך אל פילטוס וביקש את גופתו של ישוע. 53 הורידה, עטפה בבד פשתן והניחה בקבר חצוב באבן, אשר שם לא שכב איש מעולם. 54 היה זה יום ההכנה, והשבת התקרבה. 55 הנשים אשר באו עמו מהגליל הלכו אחריו וראו את הקבר ואת האופן שבו הונחה גופתו. 56 הן חזרו והכינו בשמים ומשחות. בשבת נחו כמצוה. 24:1 ביום הראשון בשבוע, עם שחר מוקדם, באו הם ואחרים אל הקבר, והביאו את הבשמים שהכינו. 2 הם מצאו את האבן גוללת מעל הקבר. 3 הם נכנסו פנימה, ולא מצאו את גופת האדון ישוע. 4 ויהי, בעודם מבולבלים מאוד על כך, הנה שני אנשים עומדים לידם בבגדים נוצצים. 5 הם נבהלו, והשתחוו בפניהם אל הארץ. אמרו להם: "מדוע אתם מחפשים את החי בין המתים? 6 הוא איננו כאן, אלא קם לתחייה. זוכרים את מה שאמר לכם כשהיה עדיין בגליל, 7 שאמר שבן האדם צריך להמסר לידי אנשים חוטאים, ולהיצלב, וביום השלישי לקום?" 8 הם נזכרו את דבריו, 9 חזרו מן הקבר, וסיפרו את כל אלה לאחד עשר ולכל השאר. 10 והיו אלה מרים ממגדלה, יוחנן ומרים אמו של יעקב. הנשים האחרות שהיו איתן סיפרו את הדברים האלה לשליחים. 11 הדברים נראו להן כבל, ולא האמינו להם. 12 אך כיפא קם ורץ אל הקבר. הוא התכופף והביט פנימה, וראה את רצועות התפירה מונחות לבדן, והוא הלך לביתו, תוהה מה קרה.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." H
