1 Why do you stand far off, LORD?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak;
They are caught in the schemes that they devise.
3 For the wicked boasts of his heart's cravings,
He blesses the greedy, and condemns the LORD.
4 The wicked, in the pride of his face,
Has no room in his thoughts for God.
5 His ways are prosperous at all times;
He is haughty, and your laws are far from his sight:
As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.
6 He says in his heart, "I shall not be shaken;
For generations I shall have no trouble."
7 His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression.
Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
8 He lies in wait near the villages.
From ambushes, he murders the innocent.
His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.
9 He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush.
He lies in wait to catch the helpless.
He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net.
10 The helpless are crushed, they collapse,
They fall under his strength.
11 He says in his heart, "God has forgotten.
He hides his face. He will never see it."
12 Arise, LORD! God, lift up your hand!
Don't forget the helpless.
13 Why does the wicked condemn God,
And say in his heart, "God won't call me into account?"
14 But you do see trouble and grief;
You consider it to take it into your hand.
You help the victim and the fatherless.
15 Break the arm of the wicked.
As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.
16 The LORD is King forever and ever!
The nations will perish out of his land.
17 LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble.
You will prepare their heart.
You will cause your ear to hear,
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed,
That man who is of the eretz may terrify no more.
PSALMS: 40
1 I waited patiently for the LORD.
He turned to me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay.
He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God.
Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust,
And doesn't respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, LORD, my God, are the wonderful works which you have done,
And your thoughts which are toward us.
They can't be set in order to you;
If I would declare and speak of them,
they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering you didn't desire.
My ears have you opened:
Burnt offering and sin offering have you not required.
7 Then I said, "Behold, I have come.
It is written about me in the book in the scroll.
8 I delight to do your will, my God.
Yes, your law is within my heart."
9 I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly.
Behold, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know.
10 I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart.
I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation.
I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.
11 Don't withhold your tender mercies from me, LORD.
Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have surrounded me.
My iniquities have overtaken me,
so that I am not able to look up.
They are more than the hairs of my head.
My heart has failed me.
13 Be pleased, LORD, to deliver me.
Hurry to help me, LORD.
14 Let them be put to shame and confounded together
who seek after my soul to destroy it.
Let them be turned backward and
brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.
15 Let them be desolate by reason of their shame that tell me, "Aha! Aha!"
16 Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you.
Let such as love your salvation say continually,
"Let the LORD be exalted!"
17 But I am poor and needy;
May the Lord think about me.
You are my help and my deliverer.
Don't delay, my God.
PSALMS: 70
1 Hurry, God, to deliver me.
Come quickly to help me, LORD.
2 Let them be put to shame and confounded who seek my soul.
Let those who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.
3 Let them be turned because of their shame
Who say, "Aha! Aha!"
4 Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you.
Let those who love your yeshu`ah continually say,
"Let God be exalted!"
5 But I am poor and needy.
Come to me quickly, God.
You are my help and my deliverer,
LORD, don't delay.
PSALMS: 100
1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all you lands!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness.
Come before his presence with singing.
3 Know that the LORD, he is God.
It is he who has made us, and we are his.
We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
Into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good.
His loving kindness endures forever,
His faithfulness to all generations.
PSALMS: 130
1 Out of the depths I have cried to you, LORD.
2 Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.
3 If you, the LORD, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with you,
Therefore you are feared.
5 I wait for the LORD.
My soul waits.
I hope in his word.
6 My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning;
More than watchmen for the morning.
7 Yisra'el, hope in the LORD,
For with the LORD there is loving kindness.
With him is abundant redemption.
8 He will redeem Yisra'el from all their sins.
PROVERBS: 10
1 The proverbs of Shlomo.
A wise son makes a glad father;
But a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing,
But righteousness delivers from death.
3 The LORD will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry,
But he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
4 He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand,
But the hand of the diligent brings wealth.
5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son,
But he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame.
6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7 The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot.
8 The wise in heart accept mitzvot,
But a chattering fool will fall.
9 He who walks blamelessly walks surely,
But he who perverts his ways will be found out.
10 One winking with the eye causes sorrow,
But a chattering fool will fall.
11 The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
12Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all wrongs.
13 Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment,
But a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge,
But the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city.
The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 The labor of the righteous leads to life.
The increase of the wicked leads to sin.
17 He is in the way of life who heeds correction,
But he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.
18 He who hides hatred has lying lips.
He who utters a slander is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience,
But he who restrains his lips does wisely.
20 The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver.
The heart of the wicked is of little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many,
But the foolish die for lack of understanding.
22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth,
And he adds no trouble to it.
23 It is a fool's pleasure to do wickedness,
But wisdom is a man of understanding's pleasure.
24 What the wicked fear, will overtake them,
But the desire of the righteous will be granted.
25 When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more;
But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes,
So is the sluggard to those who send him.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongs days,
But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 The prospect of the righteous is joy,
But the hope of the wicked will perish.
29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright,
But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
30 The righteous will never be removed,
But the wicked will not dwell in the land.
31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
But the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
OLD TESTAMENT: JOB 34:1 - 36:33
34:1 Moreover Elihu answered, 2 "Hear my words, you wise men; Give ear to me, you who have knowledge. 3 For the ear tries words, As the palate tastes food. 4 Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good. 5 For Iyov has said, 'I am righteous, God has taken away my right: 6 Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar; My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.' 7 What man is like Iyov, Who drinks up scoffing like water, 8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men? 9 For he has said, 'It profits a man nothing That he should delight himself with God.' 10 "Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, From Shaddai, that he should commit iniquity. 11 For the work of a man will he render to him, And cause every man to find according to his ways. 12 Yes surely, God will not do wickedly, Neither will Shaddai pervert justice. 13 Who gave him a charge over the eretz? Or who has appointed him over the whole world? 14 If he set his heart on himself, If he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath; 15 All flesh would perish together, And man would turn again to dust. 16 "If now you have understanding, hear this. Listen to the voice of my words. 17 Shall even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty?-- 18 Who says to a king, 'Vile!' Or to nobles, 'Wicked!' 19 Who doesn't respect the persons of princes, Nor regards the rich more than the poor; For they all are the work of his hands. 20 In a moment they die, even at midnight; The people are shaken and pass away, The mighty are taken away without hand. 21 "For his eyes are on the ways of a man, He sees all his goings. 22 There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. 23 For he doesn't need to consider a man further, That he should go before God in judgment. 24 He breaks in pieces mighty men in ways past finding out, And sets others in their place. 25 Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed. 26 He strikes them as wicked men In the open sight of others; 27 Because they turned aside from following him, And wouldn't have regard in any of his ways: 28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him, He heard the cry of the afflicted. 29 When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? Alike whether to a nation, or to a man: 30 That the godless man may not reign, That there be no one to ensnare the people. 31 "For has any said to God, 'I am guilty, but I will not offend any more. 32 Teach me that which I don't see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more'? 33 Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what you know. 34 Men of understanding will tell me, Yes, every wise man who hears me: 35 'Iyov speaks without knowledge, His words are without wisdom.' 36 I wish that Iyov were tried to the end, Because of his answering like wicked men. 37 For he adds rebellion to his sin. He claps his hands among us, And multiplies his words against God."
35:1 Moreover Elihu answered, 2 "Do you think this to be your right, Or do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's,' 3 That you ask, 'What advantage will it be to you? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?' 4 I will answer you, And your companions with you. 5 Look to the heavens, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you. 6 If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him? 7 If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand? 8 Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are; And your righteousness may profit a son of man. 9 "By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.10 But none says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night, 11 Who teaches us more than the animals of the eretz, And makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?' 12 There they cry, but none gives answer, Because of the pride of evil men.13 Surely God will not hear an empty cry, Neither will Shaddai regard it. 14 How much less when you say you don't see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him! 15 But now, because he has not visited in his anger, Neither does he greatly regard arrogance. 16 Therefore Iyov opens his mouth with empty talk, And he multiplies words without knowledge."
36:1 Elihu also continued, and said, 2 "Bear with me a little, and I will show you; For I still have something to say on God's behalf. 3 I will get my knowledge from afar, And will ascribe righteousness to my Maker. 4 For truly my words are not false. One who is perfect in knowledge is with you. 5 "Behold, God is mighty, and doesn't despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of understanding. 6 He doesn't preserve the life of the wicked, But gives to the afflicted their right. 7 He doesn't withdraw his eyes from the righteous, But with kings on the throne, He sets them forever, and they are exalted. 8 If they are bound in fetters, And are taken in the cords of afflictions, 9 Then he shows them their work, And their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly. 10 He also opens their ears to instruction, And commands that they return from iniquity. 11 If they listen and serve him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures. 12 But if they don't listen, they shall perish by the sword; They shall die without knowledge. 13 "But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They don't cry for help when he binds them. 14 They die in youth. Their life perishes among the unclean. 15 He delivers the afflicted by their affliction, And opens their ear in oppression. 16 Yes, he would have allured you out of distress, Into a broad place, where there is no restriction. That which is set on your table would be full of fatness. 17 "But you are full of the judgment of the wicked. Judgment and justice take hold of you. 18 Don't let riches entice you to wrath, Neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside. 19 Would your wealth sustain you in distress, Or all the might of your strength? 20 Don't desire the night, When people are cut off in their place. 21 Take heed, don't regard iniquity; For this you have chosen rather than affliction. 22 Behold, God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him? 23 Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who can say, 'You have committed unrighteousness?' 24 "Remember that you magnify his work, Whereof men have sung. 25 All men have looked thereon. Man sees it afar off. 26 Behold, God is great, and we don't know him. The number of his years is unsearchable. 27 For he draws up the drops of water, Which distill in rain from his vapor, 28 Which the skies pour down And drop on man abundantly. 29 Yes, can any understand the spreading of the clouds, And the thunderings of his pavilion? 30 Behold, he spreads his light around him. He covers the bottom of the sea. 31 For by these he judges the people. He gives food in abundance. 32 He covers his hands with the lightning, And commands it to strike the mark. 33 The noise of it tells about him, And the cattle also concerning the storm that comes up.
NEW TESTAMENT: 2 CORINTHIANS 4:1 - 12
4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don't faint.
2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
3 Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled in those who perish;
4 in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Messiah, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.
5 For we don't preach ourselves, but Messiah Yeshua as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Yeshua' sake.
6 Seeing it is God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness," who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Yeshua the Messiah.
7 But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.
8 We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair;
9pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed;
10 always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Yeshua, that the life of Yeshua may also be revealed in our body.
11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Yeshua' sake, that the life also of Yeshua may be revealed in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death works in us, but life in you.

מברך חמדנים, ואת ה' יגנה.
4 רשע, בגאון פניו,
אין לו מקום במחשבותיו לאלוהים.
5 דרכיו מצליחות בכל עת;
גאון הוא, ומשפטיך רחוקים מעיניו:
וכל אויביו לועג להם.
ואמר בלבו: "לא ארע; לדורות לא אהיה צרה."

13 מדוע יגנה רשע את אלוהים,
ואמר בלבו, "לא יקראני אלוהים?"
14 ואתה רואה צרה ויגון; תשים לב לקחת בידך. תעזור לקורבן וליתום.
15 שבר זרוע רשע. ורשע, חפש את רעתו עד לא תמצא.
16 ה' מלך לעולם ועד! גויים יאבדו מארצו.
17 ה', תשאלת ענווים שמעת. תכין את לבם. תשמע אוזנך,
18 לשפוט יתום ועשוק,
ולא יתחרד עוד איש הארץ.

פנה אליי ושמע צעקתי.
2 וַיַּעֲלִינִי מִבֹּרֶת נוֹרָה, מִן-טִר בִּצּוּר.
הִשִּׁים רַגְלַי עַל-צֹר וְנָתַן לִי מְעֲמֹד נְחָדָשׁ.
3 שִׁמָּר חָדָשׁ שָׁמַר בִּפִּי, תְּהִלָּה לָאֱלֹהֵינוּ.
רַבִּים יְרָאוּ וְיָרָאוּ וְיָבוּ בְה'.
4 אשרי האיש אשר יִשְׁמַע אֶת-ה' מִבְטַחוֹ,

5 רַבָּה ה' אֱלֹהַי נִפְלָאוֹתָךְ,

אֲם אֶמְדַבֵּר וְאֶת-דַּבֵּר אוֹתָם,
רַבִּים מִסְפָּר.
6 זִבְחָה וּמְנַחַת לֹא חָפַצְתָּ.
אוֹזְנַי פַחַתָּ:
עוֹלָה וְחַטָּאת לֹא דַּרְשְׁתָּ. 7 ואומר, "הנה באתי. כתוב עליי בספר במגילה.
8 לעשות רצונך חפצתי, אלוהי. ותורתך בתוך לבי."
9 הכרזתי צדק בקהל רב.
הנה, לא אחתום שפתיי, ה', אתה ידעת.
10 לא הסתרתי צדקתך בתוך לבי.
הגדתי אמונתך וישועתך.
לא הסתרתי חסדך ואמתך מקהל רב.
11 אל תמנע ממני רחמיך, ה'.
תמיד חסדך ואמתך ישמרני.
12 כי רעות רבות סבבו אותי.
השיגו אותי עוונותיי,
ולא אוכל להרים את מבטי.
רבות הן משערות ראשי.
לבי עזב אותי. 13 חפץ ה' להצילני. מהר לעזרני, ה'.
14 יבוש ויתבלמו יחד מבקשי נפשי להשמידה. יסורו אחור ויחרפו חפצי רעי.
15 יישמו מבושה, אומרים לי "אהה אהה!".
16 ישמחו ויגלו בך כל מבקשיך. יאמרו תמיד אוהבי ישועתך: "יהי ה' רָמָה!".
17 אני עני ואביון; יחשוב ה' עליי. אתה עזרי ומושיע. אל תתעכב, אלוהי.

ואת פי רשעים יכסה חמס.

8 חכמי לב מקבלים מצוות,

10 קריצת עינו תגרום עצב,

11 פי צדיק מקור חיים,
ואלים יכסו פי רשעים.
12שנאה מעוררת ריב,
ואהבה מכסה כל עוולה.
13 חוכמה נמצאת על שפתי תבונה,
ושבט לגב חסר תבונה.
14 חכמים אוגרים דעת,
ופי כסיל קרוב לאבדון.
15 עושר עשיר הוא עירו המבוססת,
אובדן עניים הוא עונים.
16 עמל צדיק מוביל לחיים,
ריבוי רשעים מוביל לחטא.
17 בדרך חיים שומע לתיקון,
ועזב תוכחה יטעה אחרים.
18 מסתיר שנאה שפתיים שקר.
מוציא דיבה הוא כסיל.
19 בריבוי דברים לא חסר אי ציות,
והרס שפתיו עושה בחוכמה.
20 לשון צדיק ככסף מבחר.
לב רשע מעט.
21 שפתי צדיק יאכילו רבים,
וכסילים ימותו בחוסר תבונה.
22 ברכת ה' מביאה עושר,
ולא יוסיף עליה צרה.
23 הנאת כסיל לעשות רשע,
וחוכמה היא נאת איש בינה.
24 מה שיפגעו רשעים ישיג אותם,
ורצון צדיקים יינתן.
25 כי יעבור סופה, איננו עוד רשע;
והצדיק יסוד עולם.
26 כחומץ לשיניים, וכעשן לעיניים,

ושנות רשעים יקצרו.
28 תקוות צדיקים שמחה,
ותקוות רשעים תאבד.
29 דרך ה' מעוז לישרים,
והרס הוא לעושי עוול.
30 צדיק לא יוס לעולם,
ורשעים לא ישכנו בארץ.
31 פי צדיק יוציא חכמה,
ולשון עוקפת תיכרת.
32 שפתי צדיק ידעו מה רצוי,
ופי רשעים עוקף.

לד:1 ויען אליהוא, ב' שמעו דברי חכמים, האזינו לי ידענים. ג' כי אוזן תבחן דברים, כטעם החך, ד' נבחר לנו את הישר, נידע בינינו את הטוב. ה' כי אמר איוב: 'צדיק אני, אלהים לקח את זכותי. ו' צדקי אני נחשב כזב, פצעי אינו מרפא, כי אני לא מרה. 7 מי אדם כמו איוב, אשר שותה ללעג כמים, ח' הולך בחברת פועלי עוולה, והולך עם רשעים? 9 כי אמר: 'לא מועיל לאדם כי יתענג עם אלהים'. 10 "לכן שמעו לי, אנשי תבונה: רחוק מאלוהים לעשות רשע, משדי לעשות עוולה. 11 כי מעשה אדם ישלם לו, וכל אדם כדרכיו ימצא. 12 כן ודאי לא יעשה רשע, ושדי לא יטעה את המשפט. 13 מי נתן לו פקודה על הארץ? ומי מינה אותו על כל העולם? 14 אם ישים את ליבו על עצמו, אם יאסוף אליו את רוחו ואת נשמתו; 15 כל בשר יאבד יחד, והאדם ישוב לעפר. 16 "אם עכשיו יש לך תבונה, שמע זאת. הקשב לקול דברי. 17 גם שונא צדק ימשול? האם תרשיע את הצדיק והגיבור? 18 מי אומר למלך, 'נבלה', או לאצילים, 'רשע'! 19 מי לא יכבד פנים של נסיכים, ולא יתייחס לעשירים יותר מלעניים; כי כולם מעשה ידיו. 20 ברגע ימותו, אפילו בחצות; עם יזדעזע ונעלם, גיבורים ייקחו בלי יד. 21 כי עיניו בדרכי אדם, הוא רואה את כל מהלכיו. 22 אין חושך ואפלה, שם יוכלו פועלי עוולות להסתתר. 23 כי אינו צריך עוד להתבונן באדם, כדי שיבוא לפני אלוהים במשפט. 24 גיבורים בדרכים שאינן ניתנות לגילוי, ואחרים יעמידו תחתיהם. 25 לכן ידע מעשיהם. הוא יהפכם בלילה, כדי שיאבדו. 26 הוא מכה אותם כרשעים לעיני אחרים; 27 כי סרו מאחריו ולא התייחסו לכל דרכיו: 28 ויבואו אליו צעקת עניים, שמע צעקת עניים. 29 כי ייתן שקט, מי יורשע? כי יסתיר פניו, מי יראהו? אם לגוי אם לאדם: 30 למען לא ימלוך איש ערער, ולא יהיה מי ילכד את העם. 31 "כי האמר איש לאלהים: 'אשם אני, ולא אעביד עוד. 32 למדני את אשר איני רואה. אם עשיתי עוול, לא אעשה עוד'? 33 האם יהיה גמולו כרצונך, כי תסרב? כי אתה תבחר, ולא אני. לכן דבר את אשר ידעת. 34 אנשי תבונה יאמרו לי: כן, כל חכם אשר שומע אותי: 35 'איוב מדבר ללא דעת, דבריו ללא חכמה'. 36 הלוואי ויתנסה איוב עד הסוף, מפני ענותו כרשעים. 37 כי מוסיף מרד על חטאו. מוחא כפיים בתוכנו, ורב דבריו על אלהים."
לה:1 ויען אליהוא, ב"האם זאת זכותך תחשב, או שתאמר 'צדקי גדולה מאלוהים', ג"ת שתשאל, 'מה יתרון יהיה לך? מה תועלת יהיה לי יותר מאשר אם חטאתי?' ד"א אענה לך ואת רעיך עמך. ה"הבט השמים וראה, ראה את השמים אשר גבוהים ממך. ו"אם חטאת, מה תהיה לך בו? אם עבירותיך רבות, מה תעשה לו? ז"אם צדיק אתה, מה תתן לו? או מה הוא מקבל מידך? ח"א רעתך תזיק לאדם כמוך; וצדקתך תועיל לבן אדם. ט"ב מרוב עונשים יצעק; יזעקו לעזרה מפני זרוע גיבורים. 10 ואין אומר, 'איה אלוהים יוצרי, נותן שירים בלילה, 11 מלמד אותנו יותר מחיית הארץ, וחכם אותנו מעוף השמים?' 12 שם יזעקו, ואין ענה, מפני גאוות אנשים רעים. 13 אם לא ישמע אלוהים צעקה ריקה, ושדי לא ישים לב אליה. 14 כמה וכמה כשתאמר לא ראית אותו. הדבר לפניו, ואתה מחכה לו! 15 ועתה, כי לא פקד באפו, ולא יראה גאווה רבה. 16 לכן פתח איוב את פיו בדברי ריק, וירבה דברים בלי דעת.
לו:1 וימשיך אליהוא ויאמר, ב"סבלני מעט ואראה לך כי עוד לי מה לומר בעד אלהים. ג"א אקח את דעתי מרחוק ואשים צדק ליוצרי. ד"כ כי באמת לא שקר דברי, שלם בדעת עמך. ה"הנה אלהים גיבור ולא בזוז איש, גיבור בכוח תבונה. ו"לא ישמור נפש רשעים, אלא לעניים נותנים את משפטם. ז"ל לא יסיר עיניו מצדיקים, כי עם מלכים על כסא, הוא משים אותם לעולם, והם ירוממו. ח"א אם אסורים באזיקים, ונתפסים בחבלים של צרות, ט"ו אז יראה להם את מעשיהם ואת פשעתם, כי התגאו. י"א גם יפקח את אוזניהם לתורה, וצוה לשוב מעוולה. 11 אם ישמעו ויעבדוהו, ימיהם יבלו בשגשוג, ושנותיהם בתענוגות. 12 ואם לא ישמעו, יאבדו בחרב; ימותו בלא דעת. 13 "אבל חסרי לב יקבעו זעם, לא יצעקו לעזרה כשקושר אותם. 14 ימותו בנעורים, בין טמאים יאבדו חייהם. 15 הוא מציל את העניים בצערם, ואזנם פותח בדיכוי. 16 הוא היה מפתה אותך ממצוקה, אל מקום רחב, שאין בו הגבלה. מה שמוגש על שולחנך מלא שמן. 17 "אתה מלא במשפט רשעים, משפט וצדקה אחזוך. 18 אל תיתן לעושר לפתות אותך לזעום, ואל תיתן לשוחד גדול להסיט אותך. 19 האם עושרך יספיק לך במצוקה, או בכל כוח כוחך? 20 אל תחפוץ בלילה, כאשר אנשים ינותקו ממקומם. 21 הזהר, אל תסתכל על עוולה; כי בזה בחרת מאשר עוני. 22 הנה, אלוהים נשגב בגבורתו. מי מורה כמוהו? 23 מי קבע לו את דרכו? ומי יאמר, 'עָוַלְתָּ?' 24 "זכר כי אתה מגדיל את מעשיו, אשר אנשים שרו עליו. 25 כל אדם הביטו בו, אדם ראה מרחוק. 26 הנה גדול אלוהים, ולא ידענו אותו, מספר שנותיו לא ניתן לחקור. 27 כי הוא מושך טיפות מים, אשר נוזקות בגשם מאדו, 28 אשר שמיים יורדים ומטיפות על האדם בשפע. 29 כן, האם מישהו יבין את התפשטות העננים, ואת רעמי סוכתו? 30 הנה הוא מפיץ את אורו סביבו, הוא מכסה את קרקעית הים. 31 כי על פי אלה הוא שופט את העם, הוא נותן מזון בשפע. 32 הוא מכסה את ידיו בברק, ומצווה עליו לפגוע במטרה. 33 קולו מספר עליו, וגם הבקר על הסערה העולה.

4:1 לכן בראותנו יש לנו את השירות הזה, כפי שקיבלנו רחמים, איננו מתעייפים.
2 אבל ויתרנו על הדברים הנסתרים של הבושה, איננו הולכים בערמומיות, ואיננו מטפלים בדבר אלוהים במרמה; אלא על ידי גילוי האמת אנו ממליצים על עצמנו למצפונו של כל אדם לפני אלוהים.
3 גם אם בשורתנו מוסתרת, היא מוסתרת באלה האובדים;
4 אשר אלוהי העולם הזה עיוור בהם את דעתם של הלא מאמינים, למען לא יזרח עליהם אור בשורת כבוד המשיח, שהוא צלם אלוהים.
5 כי איננו מבשרים על עצמנו, אלא על המשיח ישוע כאדון, ועל עצמנו כעבדיכם למען ישוע.
6 בהיות אלוהים שאמר "אור יאיר מן החושך", הוא הוא שהאיר בלבבותינו, לתת את אור הידע של כבוד אלוהים בפני ישוע המשיח.
7 אבל אוצר זה יש לנו בכלי חרס, למען גודל העוצמה העצום יהיה מאלוהים, ולא מ... עצמנו.
8 אנחנו נלחצים מכל עבר, אך לא נדחקים; נבוכים, אך לא נואשים;
9 נרדפים, אך לא נטושים; מופלים ארצה, אך לא אובדים;
10 תמיד נושאים בגופנו את מותו של האדון ישוע, למען יתגלה גם חיי ישוע בגופנו.
11 כי אנחנו החיים תמיד נמסרים למוות למען ישוע, למען יתגלה גם חיי ישוע בבשרנו התמותי.
12 לכן המוות פועל בנו, אך החיים בכם.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
