THEinc-HIM Daily Bible Meditation – December 11 – Full Text

Genesis 1:1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

DECEMBER 11

PSALMS: 11, 41, 71, 101, 131

PROVERBS: 11

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 25:47 - 27:13

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 10:32 - 52

PSALMS: 11

1 In the LORD do I take refuge.

How can you say to my soul,

"Flee as a bird to your mountain!"

2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bows.

They set their arrows on the strings,

That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

3 If the foundations are destroyed,

What can the righteous do?

4 The LORD is in his holy temple.

The LORD is on his throne in heaven.

His eyes observe.

His eyes examine the children of men.

5 The LORD examines the righteous,

But the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.

6 On the wicked he will rain blazing coals;

Fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

7 For the LORD is righteous.

He loves righteousness.

The upright shall see his face.

PSALMS: 41

1 Blessed is he who considers the poor:

The LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive,

He shall be blessed on the eretz,

And he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.

3 The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed,

And restore him from his bed of illness.

4 I said, "LORD, have mercy on me.

Heal me, for I have sinned against you."

5 My enemies speak evil against me:

"When will he die, and his name perish?"

6 If he come to see me, he speaks falsehood.

His heart gathers iniquity to itself.

When he goes abroad, he tells it.

7 All who hate me whisper together against me.

They imagine the worst for me.

8 "An evil disease," they say, "has afflicted him.

Now that he lies he shall rise up no more."

9 Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted,

Who ate bread with me,

Has lifted up his heel against me.

10 But you, LORD, have mercy on me, and raise me up,

That I may repay them.

11 By this I know that you delight in me,

Because my enemy doesn't triumph over me.

12 As for me, you uphold me in my integrity,

And set me in your presence forever.

13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Yisra'el,

From everlasting and to everlasting! Amein and amein.

PSALMS: 71

1 In you, LORD, I take refuge.

Never let me be put to shame.

2 Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me.

Turn your ear to me, and save me.

3 Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go.

Give the command to save me,

For you are my rock and my fortress.

4 Rescue me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,

From the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

5 For you are my hope, Lord GOD;

My confidence from my youth.

6 I have relied on you from the womb.

You are he who took me out of my mother's womb.

I will always praise you.

7 I am a marvel to many,

But you are my strong refuge.

8 My mouth shall be filled with your praise,

With your honor all the day.

9 Don't reject me in my old age.

Don't forsake me when my strength fails.

10 For my enemies talk about me.

Those who watch for my soul conspire together,

11 Saying, "God has forsaken him.

Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him."

12 God, don't be far from me.

My God, hurry to help me.

13 Let my accusers be put to shame and consumed.

Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to harm me.

14 But I will always hope,

And will add to all of your praise.

15 My mouth will tell about your righteousness,

And of your salvation all day,

Though I don't know its full measure.

16 I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord GOD.

I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.

17 God, you have taught me from my youth.

Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.

18 Yes, even when I am old and gray-headed,

God, don't forsake me,

Until I have declared your strength to the next generation,

Your might to everyone who is to come.

19 Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens;

You who have done great things.

God, who is like you?

20 You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles,

You will let me live.

You will bring us up again from the depths of the eretz.

21 Increase my honor, And comfort me again.

22 I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God.

I sing praises to you with the lyre,

Holy One of Yisra'el.

23 My lips shall shout for joy!

My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!

24 My tongue will also talk about your righteousness all day long,

For they are put to shame, and they are confounded,

who want to harm me.

PSALMS: 101

1 I will sing of loving kindness and justice.

To you, LORD, I will sing praises.

2 I will be careful to live a blameless life.

When will you come to me?

I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.

3 I will set no vile thing before my eyes.

I hate the deeds of faithless men.

They will not cling to me.

4 A perverse heart will be far from me.

I will have nothing to do with evil.

5 I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor.

I won't tolerate one who is haughty and conceited.

6 My eyes will be on the faithful of the land,

That they may dwell with me.

He who walks in a perfect way, He will serve me.

7 He who practices deceit won't dwell within my house.

He who speaks falsehood won't be established before my eyes.

8 Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land;

To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the LORD's city.

PSALMS: 131

1 LORD, my heart isn't haughty, nor my eyes lofty;

Neither do I concern myself with great matters,

Or things too wonderful for me.

2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul,

Like a weaned child with his mother,

Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3 Yisra'el, hope in the LORD,

From this time forth and forevermore.

PROVERBS: 11

1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD,

But accurate weights are his delight.

2 When pride comes, then comes shame,

But with humility comes wisdom.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them,

But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.

4 Riches don't profit in the day of wrath,

But righteousness delivers from death.

5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way,

But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them,

But the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.

7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes,

And expectation of power comes to nothing.

8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble,

And the wicked takes his place.

9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,

But the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.

10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices.

When the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted,

But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom,

But a man of understanding holds his shalom.

13 One who brings gossip betrays a confidence,

But one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.

14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls,

But in the multitude of counselors there is victory.

15 He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it,

But he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.

16 A gracious woman obtains honor,

But violent men obtain riches.

17 The merciful man does good to his own soul,

But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.

18 The wicked earns deceitful wages,

But he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

19 He who is truly righteous gets life.

He who pursues evil gets death.

20 Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD,

But those whose ways are blameless are his delight.

21 Most assuredly, the evil man will not be unpunished,

But the seed of the righteous will be delivered.

22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout,

Is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good.

The expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 There is one who scatters, and increases yet more.

There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat.

He who waters shall be watered also himself.

26 He who withholds grain, the people will curse him,

But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

27  He who diligently seeks good seeks favor,

But he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.

28 He who trusts in his riches will fall,

But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.

29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind.

The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life.

He who is wise wins souls.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the eretz;

How much more the wicked and the sinner!

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 25:47 - 27:13

25:47 If a stranger or sojourner with you has grown rich, and your brother has grown poor beside him, and sell himself to the stranger [or] sojourner with you, or to the stock of the stranger's family; 48 after that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brothers may redeem him; 49 or his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any who is a close relative to him of his family may redeem him; or if he has grown rich, he may redeem himself. 50 He shall reckon with him who bought him from the year that he sold himself to him to the year of jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according to the number of years; according to the time of a hired servant shall he be with him. 51 If there be yet many years, according to them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for. 52 If there remain but few years to the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according to his years shall he give back the price of his redemption. 53 As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with rigor over him in your sight. 54 If he isn't redeemed by these [means], then he shall go out in the year of jubilee, he, and his children with him. 55 For to me the children of Yisra'el are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Mitzrayim: I am the LORD your God.

26:1 You shall make you no idols, neither shall you rear you up an engraved image, or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am the LORD your God. 2 You shall keep my Shabbatot, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. 3 If you walk in my statutes, and keep my mitzvot, and do them; 4 then I will give your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 Your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. 6 I will give shalom in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will cause evil animals to cease out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 7 You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 I will have respect to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you. 10 You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall bring forth the old because of the new. 11  I will set my tent among you: and my soul won't abhor you. 12 I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you shall be my people. 13 I am the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Mitzrayim, that you should not be their bondservants; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright. 14 But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these mitzvot; 15 and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhor my ordinances, so that you will not do all my mitzvot, but break my covenant; 16 I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set my face against you, and you shall be struck before your enemies: those who hate you shall rule over you; and you shall flee when none pursues you. 18 If you will not yet for these things listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins. 19 I will break the pride of your power: and I will make your sky as iron, and your eretz as brass; 20 and your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruit. 21 If you walk contrary to me, and won't listen to me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins. 22 I will send the animal of the field among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your ways shall become desolate. 23 If by these things you won't be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me; 24 then will I also walk contrary to you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins. 25 I will bring a sword on you, that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant; and you shall be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26 When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied. 27  If you won't for all this listen to me, but walk contrary to me; 28 then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins. 29 You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. 30 I will destroy your high places, and cut down your sun-images, and cast your dead bodies on the bodies of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you. 31 I will make your cities a waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I won't smell the savor of your sweet odors. 32 I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein shall be astonished at it. 33 You will I scatter among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste. 34 Then shall the land enjoy its Shabbatot, as long as it lies desolate, and you are in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy its Shabbatot. 35 As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it didn't have in your Shabbatot, when you lived on it. 36 As for those who are left of you, I will send a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they shall fall when none pursues. 37  They shall stumble one on another, as it were before the sword, when none pursues: and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38 You shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 Those who are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. 40 They shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me, 41 I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity; 42 then will I remember my covenant with Ya`akov; and also my covenant with Yitzchak, and also my covenant with Avraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. 43 The land also shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its Shabbatot, while it lies desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes. 44 Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God; 45 but I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Mitzrayim in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God: I am the LORD. 46These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Yisra'el in Mount Sinai by Moshe.

27:1 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Yisra'el, and tell them, When a man shall accomplish a vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by your estimation. 3 Your estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 4 If it be a female, then your estimation shall be thirty shekels. 5 If it be from five years old even to twenty years old, then your estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6 If it be from a month old even to five years old, then your estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your estimation shall be three shekels of silver. 7 If it be from sixty years old and upward; if it be a male, then your estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

8 But if he be poorer than your estimation, then he shall be set before the Kohen, and the Kohen shall value him; according to the ability of him who vowed shall the Kohen value him. 9 If it be a animal, whereof men offer an offering to the LORD, all that any man gives of such to the LORD shall be holy. 10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change animal for animal, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy. 11 If it be any unclean animal, of which they do not offer an offering to the LORD, then he shall set the animal before the Kohen; 12 and the Kohen shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as you the Kohen value it, so shall it be. 13 But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of it to your estimation.

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 10:32 - 52

10:32 They were on the way, going up to Yerushalayim; and Yeshua was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.

33 "Behold, we are going up to Yerushalayim. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief Kohanim and the Sofrim. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Goyim.

34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again."

35 Ya`akov and Yochanan, the sons of Zavdai, came near to him, saying, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask."

36 He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?"

37 They said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory."

38 But Yeshua said to them, "You don't know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with?"

39 They said to him, "We are able." Yeshua said to them, "You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with;

40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared."

41 When the ten heard it, they began to be moved with indignation towards Ya`akov and Yochanan.

42 Yeshua summoned them, and said to them, "You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the Goyim lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

43 But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.

44 Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be servant of all.

45 For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

46 They came to Yericho. As he went out from Yericho, with his talmidim and a great multitude, the son of Timai, Bar-Timai, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.

47 When he heard that it was Yeshua the Natzri, he began to cry out, and say, "Yeshua, you son of David, have mercy on me!"

48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out the more a great deal, "You son of David, have mercy on me!"

49 Yeshua stood still, and said, "Call him." They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!"

50 He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Yeshua.

51 Yeshua answered him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rabbani, that I may see again."

52 Yeshua said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." Immediately he received his sight, and followed Yeshua in the way.

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
