THEinc-HIM Daily Bible Meditation – December 12 – Full Text

Genesis 1:1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

DECEMBER 12

PSALMS: 12, 42, 72, 102, 132

PROVERBS: 12

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 27:14 - NUMBERS 1:1 - 54

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 11:1 - 26

PSALMS: 12

1 Help, LORD;

for the godly man ceases.

For the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2 Everyone lies to his neighbor.

With flattering lips, and with a double heart, do they speak.

3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips,

And the tongue that boasts,

4 Who have said, "With our tongue will we prevail.

Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?"

5 "Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy,

I will now arise," says the LORD;

"I will set him in safety from those who malign him."

6 The words of the LORD are flawless words,

As silver refined in a clay furnace, purified seven times.

7 You will keep them, LORD,

You will preserve them from this generation forever.

8 The wicked walk on every side,

When what is vile is exalted among the sons of men.

PSALMS: 42

1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,

So pants my soul after you, God.

2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

When shall I come and appear before God?

3 My tears have been my food day and night,

While they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"

4 These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me,

How I used to go with the crowd, and led them to the house of God,

With the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping a holy day.

5 Why are you in despair, my soul?

Why are you disturbed within me?

Hope in God!

For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.

6 My God, my soul is in despair within me.

Therefore I remember you from the land of the Yarden,

The heights of Hermon, from the hill Mitz`ar.

7 Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls.

All your waves and your billows have swept over me.

8 The LORD will command his loving kindness in the daytime.

In the night his song shall be with me:

A prayer to the God of my life.

9 I will ask God, my rock,

"Why have you forgotten me?

Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"

10 As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me,

While they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"

11 Why are you in despair, my soul?

Why are you disturbed within me?

Hope in God!

For I shall still praise him,

The saving help of my countenance, and my God.

PSALMS: 72

1 God, give the king your justice;

Your righteousness to the royal son.

2 He will judge your people with righteousness,

And your poor with justice.

3 The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people;

The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.

4 He will judge the poor of the people.

He will save the children of the needy,

And will break the oppressor in pieces.

5 They shall fear you while the sun endures;

And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

6 He will come down like rain on the mown grass,

As showers that water the eretz.

7 In his days, the righteous shall flourish,

And abundance of shalom, until the moon is no more.

8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea,

From the River to the ends of the eretz.

9 Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him.

His enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will bring tribute.

The kings of Sheva and Seva shall offer gifts.

11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before him.

All nations shall serve him.

12 For he will deliver the needy when he cries;

The poor, who has no helper.

13 He will have pity on the poor and needy.

He will save the souls of the needy.

14 He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence.

Their blood will be precious in his sight.

15 They shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheva.

Men shall pray for him continually.

They shall bless him all day long.

16 There shall be abundance of grain throughout the land.

Its fruit sways like Levanon.

Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field.

17 His name endures forever.

His name continues as long as the sun.

Men shall be blessed by him.

All nations will call him blessed.

18 Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Yisra'el,

Who alone does marvelous deeds.

19 Blessed be his glorious name forever!

Let the whole eretz be filled with his glory!

Amein and amein.

20 This ends the prayers by David, the son of Yishai.

PSALMS: 102

1 Hear my prayer, LORD! Let my cry come to you.

2 Don't hide your face from me in the day of my distress.

Turn your ear to me.

Answer me quickly in the day when I call.

3 For my days consume away like smoke.

My bones are burned as a firebrand.

4 My heart is blighted like grass, and withered,

For I forget to eat my bread.

5 By reason of the voice of my groaning,

My bones stick to my skin.

6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness.

I have become as an owl of the waste places.

7 I watch, and have become like a sparrow that is alone on the housetop.

8 My enemies reproach me all day.

Those who are mad at me use my name as a curse.

9 For I have eaten ashes like bread,

And mixed my drink with tears,

10 Because of your indignation and your wrath,

For you have taken me up, and thrown me away.

11 My days are like a long shadow.

I have withered like grass.

12 But you, LORD, will abide forever;

Your renown endures to all generations.

13 You will arise and have mercy on Tziyon;

For it is time to have pity on her.

Yes, the set time has come.

14 For your servants take pleasure in her stones,

And have pity on her dust.

15 So the nations will fear the name of the LORD;

All the kings of the eretz your glory.

16 For the LORD has built up Tziyon.

He has appeared in his glory.

17 He has responded to the prayer of the destitute,

And has not despised their prayer.

18 This will be written for the generation to come.

A people which will be created will praise the LORD.

19 For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary.

From heaven, the LORD saw the eretz;

20 To hear the groans of the prisoner;

To free those who are condemned to death;

21 That men may declare the name of the LORD in Tziyon,

And his praise in Yerushalayim;

22 When the peoples are gathered together,

The kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

23 He weakened my strength along the course.

He shortened my days.

24 I said, "My God, don't take me away in the midst of my days.

Your years are throughout all generations.

25 Of old, you laid the foundation of the eretz.

The heavens are the work of your hands.

26 They will perish, but you will endure.

Yes, all of them will wear out like a garment.

You will change them like a cloak, and they will be changed.

27 But you are the same.

Your years will have no end.

28 The children of your servants will continue.

Their seed will be established before you."

PSALMS: 132

1 LORD, remember David and all his affliction,

2 How he swore to the LORD,

And vowed to the Mighty One of Ya`akov:

3 "Surely I will not come into the structure of my house,

Nor go up into my bed;

4 I will not give sleep to my eyes,

Or slumber to my eyelids;

5 Until I find out a place for the LORD,

A dwelling for the Mighty One of Ya`akov."

6 Behold, we heard of it in Efratah.

We found it in the field of Ya`ar:

7 "We will go into his dwelling place.

We will worship at his footstool.

8 Arise, LORD, into your resting place;

You, and the ark of your strength.

9 Let your Kohen be clothed with righteousness.

Let your holy ones shout for joy!"

10 For your servant David's sake,

Don't turn away the face of your anointed one.

11 The LORD has sworn to David in truth.

He will not turn from it:

"I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

12 If your children will keep my covenant,

My testimony that I will teach them,

Their children also will sit on your throne forevermore."

13 For the LORD has chosen Tziyon.

He has desired it for his habitation.

14 "This is my resting place forever.

Here I will live, for I have desired it.

15 I will abundantly bless her provision.

I will satisfy her poor with bread.

16 Her Kohanim I will also clothe with salvation.

Her holy ones will shout aloud for joy.

17 There I will make the horn of David to bud.

I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

18 I will clothe his enemies with shame,

But on himself, his crown will be resplendant."

PROVERBS: 12

1 Whoever loves correction loves knowledge,

But he who hates reproof is stupid.

2 A good man shall obtain favor from the LORD,

But he will condemn a man of wicked devices.

3 A man shall not be established by wickedness,

But the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

4 A worthy woman is the crown of her husband,

But a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.

5 The thoughts of the righteous are just.

The advice of the wicked is deceitful.

6 The words of the wicked are about lying in wait for blood,

But the speech of the upright rescues them.

7 The wicked are overthrown, and are no more,

But the house of the righteous shall stand.

8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom,

But he who has a warped mind shall be despised.

9 Better is he who is lightly esteemed, and has a servant,

Than he who honors himself, and lacks bread.

10 A righteous man regards the life of his animal,

But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread,

But he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.

12 The wicked desires the plunder of evil men,

But the root of the righteous flourishes.

13 An evil man is trapped by sinfulness of lips,

But the righteous shall come out of trouble.

14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth.

The doings of a man's hands shall be rewarded to him.

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,

But he who is wise listens to counsel.

16 A fool shows his annoyance the same day,

But one who overlooks an insult is prudent.

17 He who is truthful testifies honestly,

But a false witness lies.

18 There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword,

But the tongue of the wise heals.

19 Truth's lips will be established forever,

But a lying tongue is only momentary.

20 Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,

But joy comes to the promoters of shalom.

21 No mischief shall happen to the righteous,

But the wicked shall be filled with evil.

22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD,

But those who do the truth are his delight.

23 A prudent man keeps his knowledge,

But the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.

24 The hands of the diligent ones shall rule,

But laziness ends in slave labor.

25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down,

But a kind word makes it glad.

26 The righteous is cautious in friendship,

But the way of the wicked leads them astray.

27 The slothful man doesn't roast his game,

But the possessions of diligent men are prized.

28 In the way of righteousness is life;

In its path there is no death.

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 27:14-NUMBERS 1:1-1:54

14 When a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to the LORD, then the Kohen shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the Kohen shall estimate it, so shall it stand.

15 If he who sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be his.

16 If a man shall sanctify to the LORD part of the field of his possession, then your estimation shall be according to the sowing of it: the sowing of a homer of barley [shall be valued] at fifty shekels of silver.

17 If he sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according to your estimation it shall stand.

18 But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the Kohen shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the year of jubilee; and an abatement shall be made from your estimation.

19 If he who sanctified the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be assured to him.

20 If he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more:

21 but the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession of it shall be the Kohen's.

22 If he sanctify to the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession;

23 then the Kohen shall reckon to him the worth of your estimation to the year of jubilee: and he shall give your estimation in that day, as a holy thing to the LORD.

24 In the year of jubilee the field shall return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.

25 All your estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.

26 Only the firstborn among animals, which is made a firstborn to the LORD, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox or sheep, it is the LORD's.

27 If it be of an unclean animal, then he shall ransom it according to your estimation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it: or if it isn't redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation.

28 Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to the LORD of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD.

29 No one devoted, who shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

30 All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy to the LORD.

31 If a man will redeem anything of his tithe, he shall add to it the fifth part of it.

32 All the tithe of the herd or the flock, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD.

33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

34 These are the mitzvot, which the LORD commanded Moshe for the children of Yisra'el in Mount Sinai.

1:1 The LORD spoke to Moshe in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Mitzrayim, saying,

2 "Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one;

3 from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Yisra'el. You and Aharon shall number them by their divisions.

4 With you there shall be a man of every tribe; everyone head of his fathers' house.

5 These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Re'uven: Elitzur the son of Shede'ur.

6 Of Shim`on: Shelumi'el the son of Tzurishaddai.

7  Of Yehudah: Nachshon the son of `Amminadav.

8Of Yissakhar: Netan'el the son of Tzu`ar.

9 Of Zevulun: Eli'av the son of Helon.

10 Of the children of Yosef: Of Efrayim: Elishama the son of `Ammihud. Of Menashsheh: Gamli'el the son of Pedatzur.

11 Of Binyamin: Avidan the son of Gid`oni.

12 Of Dan: Achi`ezer the son of `Ammishaddai.

13 Of Asher: Pag`i'el the son of `Okhran.

14 Of Gad: Elyasaf the son of De`u'el.

15 Of Naftali: Achira the son of `Enan."

16 These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Yisra'el.

17 Moshe and Aharon took these men who are mentioned by name.

18 They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.

19 As the LORD commanded Moshe, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

20 The children of Re'uven, Yisra'el's firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

21 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Re'uven, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

22 Of the children of Shim`on, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, those who were numbered of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

23 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Shim`on, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

24 Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

25 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.

26 Of the children of Yehudah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

27 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Yehudah, were sixty-four thousand six hundred.

28 Of the children of Yissakhar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

29 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Yissakhar, were fifty-four thousand four hundred.

30 Of the children of Zevulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

31 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Zevulun, were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

32 Of the children of Yosef, of the children of Efrayim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

33 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Efrayim, were forty thousand five hundred.

34 Of the children of Menashsheh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

35 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Menashsheh, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

36 Of the children of Binyamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

37 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Binyamin, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

38 Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war;

39 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Dan, were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

40 Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war;

41 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand five hundred.

42 Of the children of Naftali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war;

43 those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Naftali, were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

44 These are those who were numbered, whom Moshe and Aharon numbered, and the princes of Yisra'el, being twelve men: they were each one for his fathers' house.

45 So all those who were numbered of the children of Yisra'el by their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Yisra'el;

46 even all those who were numbered were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.

47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.

48 For the LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,

49 "Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Yisra'el;

50 but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle, and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.

51 When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.

52 The children of Yisra'el shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.

53 But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Yisra'el: and the Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony."

54 Thus the children of Yisra'el did. According to all that the LORD commanded Moshe, so they did.

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 11:1 - 26

11:1 When they drew near to Yerushalayim, to Beit-Pagey and Beit-Anyah, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his talmidim,

2 and said to them, "Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him, and bring him.

3 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord needs him;' and immediately he will send him back here."

4 They went away, and found a colt tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.

5 Some of those who stood there asked them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?"

6 They said to them just as Yeshua had said, and they let them go.

7 They brought the colt to Yeshua, and threw their garments on him, and Yeshua sat on him.

8 Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and spreading them on the road.

9 Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried, "Hoshia`na! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hoshia`na in the highest!"

11 Yeshua entered into the temple in Yerushalayim. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Beit-Anyah with the twelve.

12 The next day, when they had come out from Beit-Anyah, he was hungry.

13 Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

14 Yeshua told it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again!" and his talmidim heard it.

15 They came to Yerushalayim, and Yeshua entered into the temple, and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of those who sold the doves.

16 He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.

17 He taught, saying to them, "Isn't it written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?' But you have made it a den of robbers!"

18 The chief Kohanim and the Sofrim heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, for all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.

19 When evening came, he went forth out of the city.

20 As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.

21 Kefa, remembering, said to him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away."

22 Yeshua answering said to them, "Have faith in God.

23 For most assuredly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and doesn't doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says happens; he shall have whatever he says.

24 Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.

25 Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.

26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions."

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
