THEinc-HIM Daily Bible Meditation - September 14 - Full Text!

Genesis 1:1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

SEPTEMBER 15

PSALMS:  15, 45, 75, 105, 135

PROVERBS:  15

OLD TESTAMENT:  HOSEA 1:1 - 3:5

NEW TESTAMENT:  1 JOHN 5:1 - 21

PSALMS:  15

1 LORD, who shall dwell in your sanctuary?
Who shall live on your holy hill?
2 He who walks blamelessly, does what is right,
And speaks truth in his heart;
3 He who doesn't slander with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his friend,
Nor casts slurs against his fellow man;
4 In whose eyes a vile man is despised,
But who honors those who fear the LORD;
He who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and doesn't change;
5 He who doesn't lend out his money for usury,
Nor take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be shaken.

PSALMS:  45

1 My heart overflows with a noble theme.
I recite my verses for the king.
My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.
2 You are the most excellent of the sons of men.
Grace has anointed your lips,
Therefore God has blessed you forever.
3 Gird your sword on your thigh, mighty one,
Your splendor and your majesty.
4 In your majesty ride on victoriously on behalf of truth, humility, and righteousness. Let your right hand display awesome deeds.
5 Your arrows are sharp.
The nations fall under you, with arrows in the heart of the king's enemies.
6 Your throne, God, is forever and ever.
A scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom.
7 You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil
of gladness above your fellows.
8 All your garments smell like myrrh, aloes, and cassia.
Out of  ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad.
9 Kings' daughters are among your honorable women.
At your right hand the queen stands in gold of Ofir.
10 Listen, daughter, consider, and turn your ear.
Forget your own people, and also your father's house.
11 So will the king desire your beauty,
Honor him, for he is your lord.
12 The daughter of Tzor comes with a gift.
The rich among the people entreat your favor.
13 The princess inside is all glorious.
Her clothing is interwoven with gold.
14 She shall be led to the king in embroidered work.
The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to you.
15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be led.
They shall enter into the king's palace.
16 Your sons will take the place of your fathers.
You shall make them princes in all the eretz.
17 I will make your name to be remembered in all generations.
Therefore the peoples shall give you thanks forever and ever.

PSALMS:  75

1 We give thanks to you, God,
We give thanks, for your Name is near.
Men tell about your wondrous works.
2 When I choose the appointed time,
I will judge blamelessly.
3 The eretz and all its inhabitants quake.
I firmly hold its pillars. Selah.
4 I said to the arrogant,
"Don't boast;"
To the wicked,
"Don't lift up the horn.
5 Don't lift up your horn on high.
Don't speak with a stiff neck."
6 For neither from the east, nor from the west,
Nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.
7 But God is the judge.
He puts down one, and lifts up another.
8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup,
Full of foaming wine mixed with spices.
He pours it out.
Indeed the wicked of the eretz drink and drink it to its very dregs.
9 But I will declare this forever:
I will sing praises to the God of Ya`akov.
10 I will cut off all the horns of the wicked,
But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.

PSALMS:  105

1 Give thanks to the LORD!
Call on his name! Make his doings known among the peoples.
2 Sing to him, sing praises to him!
Tell of all his marvelous works.
3 Glory in his holy name.
Let the heart of them rejoice who seek the LORD.
4 Seek the LORD and his strength.
Seek his face forever more.
5 Remember his marvelous works that he has done;
His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,
6 You seed of Avraham, his servant,
You children of Ya`akov, his chosen ones.
7 He is the LORD, our God.
His judgments are in all the eretz.
8 He has remembered his covenant forever,
The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,
9 The covenant which he made with Avraham,
His oath to Yitzchak,
10 And confirmed the same to Ya`akov for a statute;
To Yisra'el for an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, "To you I will give the land of Kana`an,
The lot of your inheritance;"
12 When they were but a few men in number,
Yes, very few, and sojourners in it.
13 They went about from nation to nation,
From one kingdom to another people.
14 He allowed no one to do them wrong.
Yes, he reproved kings for their sakes,
15 "Don't touch my anointed ones.
Do my prophets no harm."
16 He called for a famine on the land.
He destroyed the food supplies.
17 He sent a man before them.
Yosef was sold for a slave.
18 They bruised his feet with shackles.
His neck was locked in irons,
19 Until the time that his word happened,
And the LORD's word proved him true.
20 The king sent and freed him;
Even the ruler of peoples, and let him go free.
21 He made him lord of his house,
And ruler of all of his possessions;
22 To discipline his princes at his pleasure,
And to teach his Zakenim wisdom.
23 Yisra'el also came into Mitzrayim.
Ya`akov sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 He increased his people greatly,
And made them stronger than their adversaries.
25 He turned their heart to hate his people,
To conspire against his servants.
26 He sent Moshe, his servant,
And Aharon, whom he had chosen.
27 They performed miracles among them,
And wonders in the land of Ham.
28 He sent darkness, and made it dark.
They didn't rebel against his words.
29He turned their waters into blood,
And killed their fish.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs,
Even in the chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and swarms of flies came, ‘
And lice in all their borders.
32 He gave them hail for rain,
With lightning in their land.
33 He struck their vines and also their fig trees,
And shattered the trees of their country.
34 He spoke, and the locusts came,
And the grasshoppers, without number,
35 Ate up every plant in their land;
Ate up the fruit of their ground.
36 He struck also all the firstborn in their land,
The chief of all their strength.
37 He brought them forth with silver and gold.
There was not one feeble person among his tribes.
38Mitzrayim was glad when they departed,
For the fear of them had fallen on them.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering,
Fire to give light in the night.
40 They asked, and he brought quails,
And satisfied them with the bread of the sky.
41 He opened the rock, and waters gushed out.
They ran as a river in the dry places.
42 For he remembered his holy word,
And Avraham, his servant.
43 He brought forth his people with joy,
His chosen with singing.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations.
They took the labor of the peoples in possession,
45 That they might keep his statutes,
And observe his laws.
Praise the LORD!

PSALMS:  135

1 Praise the LORD!
Praise the name of the LORD!
Praise him, you servants of the LORD,
2 You who stand in the house of the LORD,
In the courts of our God's house.
3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good.
Sing praises to his name, for that is pleasant.
4 For the LORD has chosen Ya`akov for himself;
Yisra'el for his own possession.
5 For I know that the LORD is great,
That our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatever the LORD pleased, that he has done,
In heaven and in eretz, in the seas and in all deeps;
7 Who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the eretz;
Who makes lightnings with the rain;
Who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries;
8 Who struck the firstborn of Mitzrayim,
Both of man and animal;
9 Who sent signs and wonders into the midst of you,
Mitzrayim,
On Par`oh, and on all his servants;
10 Who struck many nations,
And killed mighty kings,
11 Sichon king of the Amori, `Og king of Bashan,
All the kingdoms of Kana`an,
12 And gave their land for a heritage,
A heritage to Yisra'el, his people.
13 Your name, LORD, endures forever;
Your renown, LORD, throughout all generations.
14 For the LORD will judge his people,
And have compassion on his servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
The work of men's hands.
16 They have mouths, but they can't speak;
They have eyes, but they can't see;
17  They have ears, but they can't hear;
Neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them;
Yes, everyone who trusts in them.
19 House of Yisra'el, praise the LORD!
House of Aharon, praise the LORD!
20House of Levi, praise the LORD!
You who fear the LORD, praise the LORD!
21 Blessed be the LORD from Tziyon,
Who dwells at Yerushalayim. Praise the LORD!

PROVERBS:  15

1 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge,
But the mouth of fools gush out folly.
3 The LORD's eyes are everywhere,
Keeping watch on the evil and the good.
4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
But deceit in it crushes the spirit.
5 A fool despises his father's correction,
But he who heeds reproof shows prudence.
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure,
But the income of the wicked brings trouble.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge;
Not so with the heart of fools.
8 The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But he loves him who follows after righteousness.
10 There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way:
Whoever hates reproof shall die.
11 She'ol and Avaddon are before the LORD --
How much more then the hearts of the children of men!
12 A scoffer doesn't love to be reproved;
He will not go to the wise.
13 A glad heart makes a cheerful face;
But an aching heart breaks the spirit.
14 The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge,
But the mouths of fools feed on folly.
15 All the days of the afflicted are wretched,
But one who has a cheerful heart enjoys a continual feast.
16 Better is little, with the fear of the LORD,
Than great treasure with trouble.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is,
Than a fattened calf with hatred.
18 A wrathful man stirs up contention,
But one who is slow to anger appeases strife.
19 The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch,
But the path of the upright is a highway.
20 A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish man despises his mother.
21 Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom,
But a man of understanding keeps his way straight.
22 Where there is no counsel, plans fail;
But in a multitude of counselors they are established.
23 Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth.
How good is a word at the right time!
24 The path of life leads upward for the wise,
To keep him from going downward to She'ol.
25 The LORD will uproot the house of the proud,
But he will keep the widow's borders intact.
26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked,
But the thoughts of the pure are pleasing.
27 He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house,
But he who hates bribes will live.
28 The heart of the righteous weighs answers,
But the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked,
But he hears the prayer of the righteous.
30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart.
Good news gives health to the bones.
31 The ear that listens to the reproof lives,
And will be at home among the wise.
32 He who refuses correction despises his own soul,
But he who listens to reproof gets understanding.
33 The fear of the LORD teaches wisdom.
Before honor is humility.

OLD TESTAMENT:  HOSEA 1:1 - 3:5

1:1 The word of the LORD that came to Hoshea the son of Be'eri, in the days of `Uzziyah, Yotam, Achaz, and Hizkiyahu, kings of Yehudah, and in the days of Yarov`am the son of Yo'ash, king of Yisra'el. 2 When the LORD spoke at the first by Hoshea, the LORD said to Hoshea, "Go, take for yourself a wife of prostitution and children of unfaithfulness; for the land commits great adultery against from the LORD."3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Divlayim; and she conceived, and bore him a son. 4 The LORD said to him, "Call his name Yizre`el; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Yizre`el on the house of Yehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Yisra'el to cease. 5 It will happen in that day that I will break the bow of Yisra'el in the valley of Yizre`el." 6 She conceived again, and bore a daughter. Then he said to him, "Call her name Lo-Ruhamah; for I will no longer have mercy on the house of Yisra'el, that I should in any way pardon them. 7 But I will have mercy on the house of Yehudah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen." 8 Now when she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son. 9 He said, "Call his name Lo-Ammi; for you are not my people, and I will not be yours. 10Yet the number of the children of Yisra'el will be as the sand of the sea, which can't be measured nor numbered; and it will come to pass that, in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'sons of the living God.' 11 The children of Yehudah and the children of Yisra'el will be gathered together, and they will appoint themselves one head, and will go up from the land; for great will be the day of Yizre`el.

2:1 "Say to your brothers, 'My people!' And to your sisters, 'My loved one!' 2 Contend with your mother! Contend, for she is not my wife, Neither am I her husband; And let her put away her prostitution from her face, And her adulteries from between her breasts; 3 Lest I strip her naked, And make her bare as in the day that she was born, And make her like a wilderness, And set her like a dry land, And kill her with thirst. 4 Indeed, on her children I will have no mercy; For they are children of unfaithfulness; 5 For their mother has played the prostitute. She who conceived them has done shamefully; For she said, 'I will go after my lovers, Who give me my bread and my water, My wool and my flax, My oil and my drink.'6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, And I will build a wall against her, That she can't find her way. 7  She will follow after her lovers, But she won't overtake them; And she will seek them, But won't find them. Then she will say, 'I will go and return to my first husband; For then was it better with me than now.' 8 For she did not know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, And multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Ba`al. 9 Therefore I will take back my grain in its time, And my new wine in its season, And will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness. 10 Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, And no one will deliver her out of my hand. 11 I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: Her feasts, her new moons, her Shabbatot, and all her solemn assemblies. 12 I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees, About which she has said, 'These are my wages that my lovers have given me; And I will make them a forest,' And the animals of the field shall eat them. 13 I will visit on her the days of the Ba`alim, To which she burned incense, When she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, And went after her lovers, And forgot me," says the LORD. 14 "Therefore, behold, I will allure her, And bring her into the wilderness, And speak tenderly to her. 15 I will give her vineyards from there, And the valley of `Akhor for a door of hope; And she will respond there, As in the days of her youth, And as in the day when she came up out of the land of Mitzrayim. 16 It will be in that day," says the LORD, "That you will call me 'my husband,' And no longer call me 'my master.' 17  For I will take away the names of the Ba`alim out of her mouth, And they will no more be mentioned by their name. 18 In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, And with the birds of the sky, And with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, And will make them lie down safely. 19 I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in lovingkindness, and in compassion. 20 I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; And you shall know the LORD. 21 It will happen in that day, I will respond," says the LORD, I will respond to the heavens, And they will respond to the eretz; 22 And the eretz will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil; And they will respond to Yizre`el. 23 I will sow her to me in the eretz; And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; And I will tell those who were not my people, 'You are my people;' And they will say, 'My God!'"

3:1 The LORD said to me, "Go again, love a woman loved by another, and an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the children of Yisra'el, though they turn to other gods, and love cakes of raisins." 2 So I bought her for myself for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer and a half of barley. 3 I said to her, "You shall stay with me many days. You shall not play the prostitute, and you shall not be with any other man. I will also be so toward you." 4 For the children of Yisra'el shall abide many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without sacred stone, and without efod or idols. 5 Afterward the children of Yisra'el shall return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days.

NEW TESTAMENT:  1 JOHN 5:1 - 21

5:1 Whoever believes that Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God. Whoever loves the father also loves the child who is born of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his mitzvot.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his mitzvot. His mitzvot are not grievous.
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Yeshua is the Son of God?
6 This is he who came by water and blood, Yeshua the Messiah; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood.
7 It is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
8 For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God's testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.
10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in him. He who doesn't believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
11 The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn't have God's Son doesn't have the life.
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
14 This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
15 And if we know that he listens to us whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don't say that concerning this he should make a request.
17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
18 We know that whoever is born of God doesn't sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him.
19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
20 We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Yeshua the Messiah. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." Genesis 1:1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

SEPTEMBER 14

PSALMS:  14, 44, 74, 104, 134

PROVERBS:  14

OLD TESTAMENT:  DANIEL 11:36 - 12:13

NEW TESTAMENT:  1 JOHN 4: - 21

PSALMS:  14

1 The fool has said in his heart,
"There is no God.
" They are corrupt, they have done abominable works.
There is none who does good.
2 The LORD looked down from heaven on the children of men,
To see if there were any who did understand,
Who did seek after God.
3 They have all gone aside;
they have together become corrupt.
There is none who does good, no, not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And don't call on the LORD?
5 There were they in great fear,
For God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 You put to shame the counsel of the poor,
Because the LORD is his refuge.
7 Oh that the yeshu`ah of Yisra'el would come out of Tziyon!
When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people,
Then Ya`akov shall rejoice, and Yisra'el shall be glad.

PSALMS:  44

1 We have heard with our ears,
God; Our fathers have told us,
What work you did in their days,
In the days of old.
2 You drove out the nations with your hand,
But you planted them.
You afflicted the peoples,
But you spread them abroad.
3 For they didn't get the land in possession by their own sword,
Neither did their own arm save them;
But your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face,
Because you were favorable to them.
4 You are my King, God.
Command victories for Ya`akov!
5 Through you, will we push down our adversaries.
Through your name, will we tread them under who rise up against us.
6 For I will not trust in my bow,
Neither shall my sword save me.
7 But you have saved us from our adversaries,
And have put them to shame who hate us.
8 In God have we made our boast all day long,
We will give thanks to your name forever. Selah.
9 But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor,
And don't go out with our armies.
10 You make us turn back from the adversary.
Those who hate us take spoil for themselves.
11 You have made us like sheep for food,
And have scattered us among the nations.
12You sell your people for nothing,
And have gained nothing from their sale.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors,
A scoffing and a derision to those who are round about us.
14 You make us a byword among the nations,
A shaking of the head among the peoples.
15 All day long is my dishonor before me,
And shame covers my face,
16 At the taunt of one who reproaches and reviles,
Because of the enemy and the avenger.
17 All this has come on us,
Yet have we not forgotten you,
Neither have we been false to your covenant.
18 Our heart has not turned back,
Neither have our steps declined from your way,
19 That you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals,
And covered us with the shadow of death.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God,
Or spread forth our hands to a strange god;
21 Won't God search this out?
For he knows the secrets of the heart.
22 Yes, for your sake are we killed all day long.
We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Wake up!
Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise!
Don't reject us forever.
24 Why do you hide your face,
And forget our affliction and our oppression?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust.
Our body cleaves to the eretz.
26 Rise up to help us.
Redeem us for your loving kindness' sake.

PSALMS:  74

1 God, why have you rejected us forever?
Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?
2 Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old,
Which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance;
Mount Tziyon, in which you have lived.
3 Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins,
All the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.
4 Your adversaries have roared in the midst of your assembly.
They have set up their standards as signs.
5 They behaved like men wielding axes,
Cutting through a thicket of trees.
6 Now all its carved work
They break down with hatchet and hammers.
7 They have burned your sanctuary to the ground.
They have profaned the dwelling-place of your Name.
8 They said in their heart,
"We will crush them completely.
" They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.
9 We see no miraculous signs.
There is no longer any prophet,
Neither is there among us anyone who knows how long.
10 How long, God, shall the adversary reproach?
Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?
11 Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand?
Take it out of your pocket and consume them!
12 Yet God is my King of old,
Working salvation in the midst of the eretz.
13 You divided the sea by your strength.
You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
14 You broke the heads of Livyatan in pieces.
You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.
15 You opened up spring and stream.
You dried up mighty rivers.
16 The day is yours, the night is also yours.
You have prepared the light and the sun.
17 You have set all the boundaries of the eretz.
You have made summer and winter.
18 Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, LORD.
Foolish people have blasphemed your name.
19 Don't deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts.
Don't forget the life of your poor forever.
20 Honor your covenant,
For haunts of violence fill the dark places of the eretz.
21 Don't let the oppressed return ashamed.
Let the poor and needy praise your name.
22 Arise, God! Plead your own cause.
Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.
23 Don't forget the voice of your adversaries.
The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.

PSALMS:  104

1 Bless the LORD, my soul.
The LORD, my God, you are very great.
You are clothed with honor and majesty.
2 He covers himself with light as with a garment.
He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.
3 He lays the beams of his chambers in the waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot.
He walks on the wings of the wind.
4He makes his messengers winds;
His servants flames of fire.
5 He laid the foundations of the eretz,
That it should not be moved forever.
6 You covered it with the deep as with a cloak.
The waters stood above the mountains.
7 At your rebuke they fled.
At the voice of your thunder they hurried away.
8 The mountains rose,
The valleys sank down,
To the place which you had assigned to them.
9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over;
That they don't turn again to cover the eretz.
10 He sends forth springs into the valleys.
They run among the mountains.
11 They give drink to every animal of the field.
The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 The birds of the sky nest by them.
They sing among the branches.
13 He waters the mountains from his chambers.
The eretz is filled with the fruit of your works.
14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
And plants for man to cultivate,
That he may bring forth food out of the eretz:
15Wine that makes glad the heart of man,
Oil to make his face to shine,
And bread that strengthens man's heart.
16 The LORD's trees are well watered,
The cedars of Levanon, which he has planted;
17 Where the birds make their nests.
The stork makes its home in the fir trees.
18 The high mountains are for the wild goats.
The rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.
19 He appointed the moon for seasons.
The sun knows when to set.
20 You make darkness, and it is night,
In which all the animals of the forest prowl.
21 The young lions roar after their prey,
And seek their food from God.
22 The sun rises, and they steal away,
And lay down in their dens.
23 Man goes forth to his work,
To his labor until the evening.
24 The LORD, how many are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all.
The eretz is full of your riches.
25 There is the sea, great and wide,
In which are innumerable living things,
Both small and great animals.
26 There the ships go,
And livyatan, whom you formed to play there.
27 These all wait for you,
That you may give them their food in due season.
28 You give to them; they gather.
You open your hand; they are satisfied with good.
29 You hide your face: they are troubled;
You take away their breath: they die, and return to the dust.
30 You send forth your Spirit: they are created.
You renew the face of the ground.
31 Let the glory of the LORD endure forever.
Let the LORD rejoice in his works.
32 He looks at the eretz, and it trembles.
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 I will sing to the LORD as long as I live.
I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.
34 Let your meditation be sweet to him.
I will rejoice in the LORD.
35 Let sinners be consumed out of the eretz.
Let the wicked be no more.
Bless the LORD, my soul.
Praise the LORD!

PSALMS:  134

1 Look! Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD,
Who stand by night in the LORD's house!
2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary.
Praise the LORD!
3 May the LORD bless you from Tziyon;
Even he who made heaven and eretz.

PROVERBS:  14

1 Every wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
2 He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD,
But he who is perverse in his ways despises him.
3 The fool's talk brings a rod to his back,
But the lips of the wise protect them.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean,
But much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 A truthful witness will not lie,
But a false witness pours out lies.
6 A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn't find it,
But knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.
7 Stay away from a foolish man,
For you won't find knowledge on his lips.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way,
But the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Fools mock at making atonement for sins,
But among the upright there is good will.
10 The heart knows its own bitterness and joy;
He will not share these with a stranger.
11 The house of the wicked will be overthrown,
But the tent of the upright will flourish.
12There is a way which seems right to a man,
But in the end it leads to death.
13 Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful,
And mirth may end in heaviness.
14 The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways;
Likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.
15 The simple believes everything,
But the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
16 A wise man fears, and shuns evil,
But the fool is hotheaded and reckless.
17 He who is quick to become angry will commit folly,
And a crafty man is hated.
18 The simple inherit folly,
But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 The evil bow down before the good,
And the wicked, at the gates of the righteous.
20 The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor,
But the rich person has many friends.
21 He who despises his neighbor sins,
But blessed is he who has pity on the poor.
22 Don't they go astray who plot evil?
But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
23 In all hard work there is profit,
But the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches,
But the folly of fools crowns them with folly.
25 A truthful witness saves souls,
But a false witness is deceitful.
26 In the fear of the LORD is a secure fortress,
And he will be a refuge for his children.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,
Turning people from the snares of death.
28 In the multitude of people is the king's glory,
But in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 He who is slow to anger has great understanding,
But he who has a quick temper displays folly.
30 The life of the body is a heart at shalom,
But envy rots the bones.
31 He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker,
But he who is kind to the needy honors him.
32 The wicked is brought down in his calamity,
But in death, the righteous has a refuge.
33 Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding,
And is even made known in the inward part of fools.
34 Righteousness exalts a nation,
But sin is a disgrace to any people.
35 The king's favor is toward a servant who deals wisely,
But his wrath is toward one who causes shame.

OLD TESTAMENT:  DANIEL 11:36 - 12:13

 11:36 The king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper until the indignation be accomplished; for that which is determined shall be done. 37  Neither shall he regard the gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall magnify himself above all. 38 But in his place shall he honor the god of fortresses; and a god whom his fathers didn't know shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. 39 He shall deal with the strongest fortresses by the help of a foreign god: whoever acknowledges [him] he will increase with glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price. 40At the time of the end shall the king of the south contend with him; and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass through. 41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many [countries] shall be overthrown; but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom, and Mo'av, and the chief of the children of `Ammon. 42 He shall stretch forth his hand also on the countries; and the land of Mitzrayim shall not escape. 43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Mitzrayim; and the Lubbians and the Kushim shall be at his steps. 44 But news out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him; and he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to sweep away many. 45 He shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

12:1 "At that time shall Mikha'el stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who shall be found written in the book. 2 Many of those who sleep in the dust of the eretz shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the expanse; and those who turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. 4 But you, Daniyel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run back and forth, and knowledge shall be increased." 5 Then I, Daniyel, looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on the brink of the river on this side, and the other on the brink of the river on that side. 6 One said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7 I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 8 I heard, but I didn't understand: then said I, my lord, what shall be the issue of these things? 9 He said, Go your way, Daniyel; for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but those who are wise shall understand. 11 From the time that the continual [burnt offering] shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred thirty-five days. 13 But go you your way until the end be; for you shall rest, and shall stand in your lot, at the end of the days.

NEW TESTAMENT:  1 JOHN 4:1 - 21

On Denying the Incarnation

1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.
6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

God’s Love and Ours

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.
20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
