PSALMS: 11
1 In the LORD do I take refuge.
How can you say to my soul,
"Flee as a bird to your mountain!"
2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bows.
They set their arrows on the strings,
That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
4 The LORD is in his holy temple.
The LORD is on his throne in heaven.
His eyes observe.
His eyes examine the children of men.
5 The LORD examines the righteous,
But the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.
6 On the wicked he will rain blazing coals;
Fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the LORD is righteous.
He loves righteousness.
The upright shall see his face.
PSALMS: 41
1 Blessed is he who considers the poor:
The LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.
2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive,
He shall be blessed on the eretz,
And he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.
3 The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed,
And restore him from his bed of illness.
4 I said, "LORD, have mercy on me.
Heal me, for I have sinned against you."
5 My enemies speak evil against me:
"When will he die, and his name perish?"
6 If he come to see me, he speaks falsehood.
His heart gathers iniquity to itself.
When he goes abroad, he tells it.
7 All who hate me whisper together against me.
They imagine the worst for me.
8 "An evil disease," they say, "has afflicted him.
Now that he lies he shall rise up no more."
9 Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted,
Who ate bread with me,
Has lifted up his heel against me.
10 But you, LORD, have mercy on me, and raise me up,
That I may repay them.
11 By this I know that you delight in me,
Because my enemy doesn't triumph over me.
12 As for me, you uphold me in my integrity,
And set me in your presence forever.
13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Yisra'el,
From everlasting and to everlasting! Amein and amein.
PSALMS: 71
1 In you, LORD, I take refuge.
Never let me be put to shame.
2 Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me.
Turn your ear to me, and save me.
3 Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go.
Give the command to save me,
For you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Rescue me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
From the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 For you are my hope, Lord GOD;
My confidence from my youth.
6 I have relied on you from the womb.
You are he who took me out of my mother's womb.
I will always praise you.
7 I am a marvel to many,
But you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth shall be filled with your praise,
With your honor all the day.
9 Don't reject me in my old age.
Don't forsake me when my strength fails.
10 For my enemies talk about me.
Those who watch for my soul conspire together,
11 Saying, "God has forsaken him.
Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him."
12 God, don't be far from me.
My God, hurry to help me.
13 Let my accusers be put to shame and consumed.
Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to harm me.
14 But I will always hope,
And will add to all of your praise.
15 My mouth will tell about your righteousness,
And of your salvation all day,
Though I don't know its full measure.
16 I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord GOD.
I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.
17 God, you have taught me from my youth.
Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.
18 Yes, even when I am old and gray-headed,
God, don't forsake me,
Until I have declared your strength to the next generation,
Your might to everyone who is to come.
19 Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens;
You who have done great things.
God, who is like you?
20 You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles,
You will let me live.
You will bring us up again from the depths of the eretz.
21 Increase my honor, And comfort me again.
22 I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God.
I sing praises to you with the lyre,
Holy One of Yisra'el.
23 My lips shall shout for joy!
My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!
24 My tongue will also talk about your righteousness all day long,
For they are put to shame, and they are confounded,
who want to harm me.
PSALMS: 101
1 I will sing of loving kindness and justice.
To you, LORD, I will sing praises.
2 I will be careful to live a blameless life.
When will you come to me?
I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.
3 I will set no vile thing before my eyes.
I hate the deeds of faithless men.
They will not cling to me.
4 A perverse heart will be far from me.
I will have nothing to do with evil.
5 I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor.
I won't tolerate one who is haughty and conceited.
6 My eyes will be on the faithful of the land,
That they may dwell with me.
He who walks in a perfect way, He will serve me.
7 He who practices deceit won't dwell within my house.
He who speaks falsehood won't be established before my eyes.
8 Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land;
To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the LORD's city.
PSALMS: 131
1 LORD, my heart isn't haughty, nor my eyes lofty;
Neither do I concern myself with great matters,
Or things too wonderful for me.
2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother,
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
3 Yisra'el, hope in the LORD,
From this time forth and forevermore.
PROVERBS: 11
1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD,
But accurate weights are his delight.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame,
But with humility comes wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them,
But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
4 Riches don't profit in the day of wrath,
But righteousness delivers from death.
5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way,
But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them,
But the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes,
And expectation of power comes to nothing.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble,
And the wicked takes his place.
9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
But the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices.
When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted,
But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom,
But a man of understanding holds his shalom.
13 One who brings gossip betrays a confidence,
But one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls,
But in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
15 He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it,
But he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
16 A gracious woman obtains honor,
But violent men obtain riches.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul,
But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18 The wicked earns deceitful wages,
But he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
19 He who is truly righteous gets life.
He who pursues evil gets death.
20 Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD,
But those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
21 Most assuredly, the evil man will not be unpunished,
But the seed of the righteous will be delivered.
22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout,
Is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good.
The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24 There is one who scatters, and increases yet more.
There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat.
He who waters shall be watered also himself.
26 He who withholds grain, the people will curse him,
But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
27 He who diligently seeks good seeks favor,
But he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall,
But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind.
The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life.
He who is wise wins souls.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the eretz;
How much more the wicked and the sinner!
OLD TESTAMENT: JOB 37:1 - 39:30
37:1 "Yes, at this my heart trembles, And is moved out of its place. 2 Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, The sound that goes out of his mouth. 3 He sends it forth under the whole sky, And his lightning to the ends of the eretz. 4 After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty; He doesn't hold back anything when his voice is heard. 5 God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can't comprehend. 6 For he says to the snow, 'Fall on the eretz;' Likewise to the shower of rain, And to the showers of his mighty rain. 7 He seals up the hand of every man, That all men whom he has made may know it. 8 Then the animals go into coverts, And remain in their dens. 9 Out of its chamber comes the storm, And cold out of the north. 10 By the breath of God, ice is given, And the breadth of the waters is frozen. 11 Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning. 12 It is turned round about by his guidance, That they may do whatever he commands them On the surface of the habitable world, 13 Whether it is for correction, or for his land, Or for lovingkindness, that he causes it to come. 14 "Listen to this, Iyov: Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. 15 Do you know how God controls them, And causes the lightning of his cloud to shine? 16 Do you know the workings of the clouds, The wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge? 17 You whose clothing is warm, When the eretz is still by reason of the south wind? 18 Can you, with him, spread out the sky, Which is strong as a cast metal mirror? 19 Teach us what we shall tell him; For we can't make our case by reason of darkness. 20 Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up? 21 Now men don't see the light which is bright in the skies, But the wind passes, and clears them. 22 Out of the north comes golden splendor; With God is awesome majesty. 23 We can't reach Shaddai, He is exalted in power; In justice and great righteousness he will not oppress. 24 Therefore men revere him. He doesn't regard any who are wise of heart."
38:1 Then the LORD answered Iyov out of the whirlwind, 2 "Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? 3 Brace yourself like a man, For I will question you, then you answer me! 4 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the eretz? Declare, if you have understanding. 5 Who determined the measures of it, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it? 6 Whereupon were the foundations of it fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? 8 "Or who shut up the sea with doors, When it broke forth from the womb, 9 When I made clouds the garment of it, Thick darkness a swaddling-band for it, 10 Marked out for it my bound, Set bars and doors, 11 And said, 'Here you may come, but no further; Here shall your proud waves be stayed?' 12 "Have you commanded the morning in your days, And caused the dawn to know its place; 13 That it might take hold of the ends of the eretz, And shake the wicked out of it? 14 It is changed as clay under the seal, And stands forth as a garment. 15 From the wicked, their light is withheld, The high arm is broken. 16 "Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep? 17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death? 18 Have you comprehended the eretz in its breadth? Declare, if you know it all. 19 "What is the way to the dwelling of light? As for darkness, where is the place of it, 20 That you should take it to the bound of it, That you should discern the paths to the house of it? 21 Surely you know, for you were born then, And the number of your days is great! 22 Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, Or have you seen the treasures of the hail, 23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, Against the day of battle and war? 24 By what way is the lightning distributed, Or the east wind scattered on the eretz? 25 Who has cut a channel for the flood water, Or the path for the thunderstorm; 26 To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; On the wilderness, in which there is no man; 27 To satisfy the waste and desolate ground, To cause the tender grass to spring forth? 28 Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew? 29 Out of whose womb came the ice? The gray frost of the sky, who has given birth to it? 30 The waters become hard like stone, When the surface of the deep is frozen. 31"Can you bind the cluster of the Kima, Or loosen the cords of Kesil? 32 Can you lead forth the Mazzarot in their season? Or can you guide Ayish with her cubs? 33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you establish the dominion of it over the eretz? 34 "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover you? 35 Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, 'Here we are?' 36 Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind? 37 Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of the sky, 38 When the dust runs into a mass, And the clods of eretz stick together? 39 "Can you hunt the prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, 40 When they crouch in their dens, And lie in wait in the thicket? 41 Who provides for the raven his prey, When his young ones cry to God, And wander for lack of food?
39:1 "Do you know the time when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears fawns? 2 Can you number the months that they fulfill? Or do you know the time when they give birth? 3 They bow themselves, they bring forth their young, They end their labor pains. 4 Their young ones become strong. They grow up in the open field. They go forth, and don't return again. 5 "Who has set the wild donkey free? Or who has loosened the bonds of the swift donkey, 6 Whose home I have made the wilderness, And the salt land his dwelling-place? 7 He scorns the tumult of the city, Neither hears he the shouting of the driver. 8 The range of the mountains is his pasture, He searches after every green thing. 9 "Will the wild ox be content to serve you? Or will he stay by your feeding trough? 10 Can you hold the wild ox in the furrow with his harness? Or will he till the valleys after you? 11 Will you trust him, because his strength is great? Or will you leave to him your labor? 12 Will you confide in him, that he will bring home your seed, And gather the grain of your threshing floor? 13 "The wings of the bas haya`anah wave proudly; But are they the pinions and plumage of love? 14 For she leaves her eggs on the eretz, Warms them in the dust, 15 And forgets that the foot may crush them, Or that the wild animal may trample them. 16 She deals harshly with her young ones, as if they were not hers. Though her labor is in vain, she is without fear, 17 Because God has deprived her of wisdom, Neither has he imparted to her understanding. 18 When she lifts up herself on high, She scorns the horse and his rider. 19 "Have you given the horse might? Have you clothed his neck with a quivering mane? 20 Have you made him to leap as a arbeh? The glory of his snorting is awesome. 21 He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength: He goes out to meet the armed men. 22 He mocks at fear, and is not dismayed; Neither does he turn back from the sword. 23 The quiver rattles against him, The flashing spear and the javelin. 24 He eats up the ground with fierceness and rage, Neither does he stand still at the sound of the shofar. 25 As often as the shofar sounds he snorts, 'Aha!' He smells the battle afar off, The thunder of the captains, and the shouting. 26 "Is it by your wisdom that the netz soars, And stretches her wings toward the south? 27 Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up, And makes his nest on high? 28 On the cliff he dwells, and makes his home, On the point of the cliff, and the stronghold. 29 From there he spies out the prey. His eyes see it afar off. 30 His young ones also suck up blood. Where the slain are, there he is."
NEW TESTAMENT: 2 CORINTHIANS 4:13 - 5:10
4:13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke." We also believe, and therefore also we speak; 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Yeshua will raise us also with Yeshua, and will present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we don't faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory; 18 while we don't look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
5:1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. 2 For most assuredly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven; 3 if so be that being clothed we will not be found naked. 4 For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit. 6 Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord. 9 Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him. 10 For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Messiah; that each one may receive the things in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." H
