1 I will extol you, LORD, for you have raised me up,
And have not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 LORD my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me.
3 LORD, you have brought up my soul from She'ol.
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4 Sing praise to the LORD, you holy ones of his.
Give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger is but for a moment;
His favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may stay for the night,
But joy comes in the morning.
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, "I shall never be moved."
7 You, LORD, when you favored me, made my mountain to stand strong.
But when you hid your face, I was troubled.
8 I cried to you, LORD.
To the LORD I made supplication:
9 "What profit is there in my destruction, if I go down to the pit?
Shall the dust praise you?
Shall it declare your truth?
10 Hear, LORD, and have mercy on me. LORD, be my helper."
11 You have turned my mourning into dancing for me.
You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,
12 To the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent.
LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
PSALMS: 60
1 God, you have rejected us.
You have broken us down.
You have been angry.
Restore us to you, again.
2 You have made the land tremble.
You have torn it.
Mend its fractures,
For it quakes.
3 You have shown your people hard things.
You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.
4 You have given a banner to those who fear you,
That it may be displayed because of the truth.
Selah.
5 So that your beloved may be delivered,
Save with your right hand, and answer us.
6 God has spoken from his sanctuary:
"I will triumph.
I will divide Shekhem,
And measure out the valley of Sukkot.
7 Gil`ad is mine, and Menashsheh is mine.
Efrayim also is the defense of my head.
Yehudah is my scepter.
8 Mo'av is my wash basin.
I will throw my shoe on Edom.
I shout in triumph over Peleshet."
9 Who will bring me into the strong city?
Who has led me to Edom?
10 Haven't you, God, rejected us?
You don't go out with our armies, God.
11 Give us help against the adversary,
For the help of man is vain.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly,
For it is he who will tread down our adversaries.
PSALMS: 90
1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place In all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever you had formed the eretz and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
3 You turn man to destruction, saying,
"Return, you children of men."
4 For a thousand years in your sight
Are but as yesterday when it is past,
As a watch in the night.
5 You sweep them away as they sleep.
In the morning they sprout like new grass.
6 In the morning it sprouts and springs up.
By evening, it is withered and dry.
7 For we are consumed in your anger.
We are troubled in your wrath.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
Our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 For all our days have passed away in your wrath.
We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
10 The days of our years are seventy,
Or even by reason of strength eighty years;
Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow,
For it passes quickly, and we fly away.
11 Who knows the power of your anger,
Your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?
12 So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13 Relent, LORD! How long?
Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness,
That we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
For as many years as we have seen evil.
16 Let your work appear to your servants;
Your glory to their children.
17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us;
Establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands.
PSALMS: 120
1 The LORD says to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,
Until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet."
2 The LORD will send forth the rod of your strength out of Tziyon.
Rule in the midst of your enemies.
3 Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power,
In holy array.
Out of the womb of the morning,
you have the dew of your youth.
4 The LORD has sworn, and will not change his mind:
"You are a Kohen forever in the order of Malki-Tzedek."
5 The Lord is at your right hand.
He will crush kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He will judge among the nations.
He will heap up dead bodies.
He will crush the ruler of the whole eretz.
7 He will drink of the brook in the way;
Therefore will he lift up his head.
PSALMS: 150
1 Deliver me, LORD, from the evil man.
Preserve me from the violent man;
2 Those who devise mischief in their hearts.
They continually gather themselves together for war.
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent.
Viper's poison is under their lips. Selah.
4 LORD, keep me from the hands of the wicked.
Preserve me from the violent men:
Who have determined to trip my feet.
5 The proud have hidden a snare for me,
They have spread the cords of a net by the path.
They have set traps for me. Selah.
6 I said to the LORD, "You are my God."
Listen to the cry of my petitions, LORD.
7 LORD, the Lord, the strength of my yeshu`ah,
You have covered my head in the day of battle.
8 LORD, don't grant the desires of the wicked.
Don't let their evil plans succeed,
or they will become proud.
Selah.
9 As for the head of those who surround me,
Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10 Let burning coals fall on them.
Let them be thrown into the fire,
Into miry pits, from where they never rise.
11 An evil speaker won't be established in the eretz.
Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted,
And justice for the needy.
13 Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name.
The upright will dwell in your presence.
PROVERBS: 30
1 The words of Agur the son of Yakeh, the oracle:
The man says to 'Iti'el, To 'Iti'el and Ucal:
2 "Surely I am the most ignorant man,
And don't have a man's understanding.
3 I have not learned wisdom,
Neither do I have the knowledge of the Holy One.
4 Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended?
Who has gathered the wind in his fists?
Who has bound the waters in his garment?
Who has established all the ends of the eretz? ‘
What is his name, and what is his son's name, if you know?
5 "Every word of God is flawless.
He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
6 Don't you add to his words,
Lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
7 "Two things I have asked of you;
Don't deny me before I die:
8 Remove far from me falsehood and lies.
Give me neither poverty nor riches.
Feed me with the food that is needful for me;
9 Lest I be full, deny you, and say,
'Who is the LORD?'
Or lest I be poor, and steal,
And so dishonor the name of my God.
10 "Don't slander a servant to his master,
Lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.
11 There is a generation that curses their father,
And doesn't bless their mother.
12 There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes,
Yet are not washed from their filthiness.
13 There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes!
Their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords,
And their jaws like knives,
To devour the poor from the eretz,
and the needy from among men.
15 "The leach has two daughters:
'Give, give.'
"There are three things that are never satisfied;
Four that don't say, 'Enough:'
16 She'ol, the barren womb;
The eretz that is not satisfied with water;
The fire that doesn't say, 'Enough;'
17 And the eye that mocks at his father,
And scorns obedience to his mother:
The ravens of the valley shall pick it out,
The young eagles shall eat it.
18 "There are three things which are too amazing for me,
Four which I don't understand:
19 The way of an eagle in the air;
The way of a serpent on a rock;
The way of a ship in the midst of the sea;
And the way of a man with a maiden.
20 So is the way of an adulterous woman:
She eats and wipes her mouth,
And says, 'I have done nothing wrong.'
21 "For three things the eretz tremble,
And under four, it can't bear up:
22 For a servant when he is king;
A fool when he is filled with food;
23 For an unloved woman when she is married;
And a handmaid who is heir to her mistress.
24 "There are four things which are little on the eretz,
But they are exceeding wise:
25 The ants are not a strong people,
Yet they provide their food in the summer;
26 The conies are but a feeble folk,
Yet make they their houses in the rocks;
27 The locusts have no king,
Yet they advance in ranks;
28 You can catch a lizard with your hands,
Yet she is in kings' palaces.
29 "There are three things which are stately in their march,
Four which are stately in going:
30 The lion, which is mightiest among animals,
And doesn't turn away for any;
31 The greyhound, the male goat also;
And the king against whom there is no rising up.
32 "If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself,
Or if you have thought evil,
Put your hand over your mouth.
33 For as the churning of milk brings forth butter,
And the wringing of the nose brings forth blood;
So the forcing of wrath brings forth strife."
OLD TESTAMENT: ESTHER 4:1 - 7:10
4:1 Now when Mordekhai knew all that was done, Mordekhai tore his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; 2 and he came even before the king's gate: for none might enter within the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. 3 In every province, wherever the king's mitzvah and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Yehudim, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. 4 Ester's maidens and her chamberlains came and told it her; and the queen was exceedingly grieved: and she sent clothing to clothe Mordekhai, and to take his sackcloth from off him; but he didn't receive it. 5 Then called Ester for Hatakh, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend on her, and charged him to go to Mordekhai, to know what this was, and why it was. 6 So Hatakh went forth to Mordekhai to the broad place of the city, which was before the king's gate. 7 Mordekhai told him of all that had happened to him, and the exact sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Yehudim, to destroy them. 8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given out in Shushan to destroy them, to show it to Ester, and to declare it to her, and to charge her that she should go in to the king, to make supplication to him, and to make request before him, for her people. 9 Hatakh came and told Ester the words of Mordekhai. 10 Then Ester spoke to Hatakh, and gave him a message to Mordekhai [saying]: 11 All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whoever, whether man or woman, shall come to the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law for him, that he be put to death, except those to whom the king shall hold out the golden scepter, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in to the king these thirty days. 12 They told to Mordekhai Ester's words. 13 Then Mordekhai bade them return answer to Ester, Don't think to yourself that you shall escape in the king's house, more than all the Yehudim. 14 For if you altogether hold your shalom at this time, then will relief and deliverance arise to the Yehudim from another place, but you and your father's house will perish: and who knows whether you haven't come to the kingdom for such a time as this? 15 Then Ester bade them return answer to Mordekhai, 16 Go, gather together all the Yehudim who are present in Shushan, and fast you for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast in like manner; and so will I go in to the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. 17 So Mordekhai went his way, and did according to all that Ester had commanded him.
5:1 Now it happened on the third day, that Ester put on her royal clothing, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, over against the entrance of the house. 2 It was so, when the king saw Ester the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favor in his sight; and the king held out to Ester the golden scepter that was in his hand. So Ester drew near, and touched the top of the scepter. 3 Then said the king to her, What will you, queen Ester? and what is your request? it shall be given you even to the half of the kingdom. 4 Ester said, If it seem good to the king, let the king and Haman come this day to the banquet that I have prepared for him. 5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that it may be done as Ester has said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Ester had prepared. 6 The king said to Ester at the banquet of wine, What is your petition? and it shall be granted you: and what is your request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed. 7 Then answered Ester, and said, My petition and my request is: 8 if I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king has said. 9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and glad of heart: but when Haman saw Mordekhai in the king's gate, that he didn't stand up nor move for him, he was filled with wrath against Mordekhai. 10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself, and went home; and he sent and fetched his friends and Zeresh his wife. 11 Haman recounted to them the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king. 12 Haman said moreover, Yes, Ester the queen did let no man come in with the king to the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and tomorrow also am I invited by her together with the king. 13 Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordekhai the Yehudi sitting at the king's gate. 14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends to him, Let a gallows be made fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak you to the king that Mordekhai may be hanged thereon: then go you in merrily with the king to the banquet. The thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
6:1 On that night the king couldn't sleep; and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles, and they were read before the king. 2 It was found written that Mordekhai had told of Bigtana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, of those who kept the threshold, who had sought to lay hands on the king Achashverosh. 3 The king said, What honor and dignity has been bestowed on Mordekhai for this? Then the king's servants who ministered to him said, "Nothing has been done for him." 4 The king said, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak to the king to hang Mordekhai on the gallows that he had prepared for him. 5 The king's servants said to him, Behold, Haman stands in the court. The king said, Let him come in. 6 So Haman came in. The king said to him, What shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor? Now Haman said in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself? 7 Haman said to the king, For the man whom the king delights to honor, 8 let royal clothing be brought which the king uses to wear, and the horse that the king rides on, and on the head of which a crown royal is set: 9 and let the clothing and the horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man therewith whom the king delights to honor, and cause him to ride on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor. 10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the clothing and the horse, as you have said, and do even so to Mordekhai the Yehudi, who sits at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that you have spoken. 11 Then took Haman the clothing and the horse, and arrayed Mordekhai, and caused him to ride through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor. 12 Mordekhai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hurried to his house, mourning and having his head covered. 13 Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife to him, If Mordekhai, before whom you have begun to fall, be of the seed of the Yehudim, you shall not prevail against him, but shall surely fall before him. 14 While they were yet talking with him, came the king's chamberlains, and hurried to bring Haman to the banquet that Ester had prepared.
7:1 So the king and Haman came to banquet with Ester the queen. 2 The king said again to Ester on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is your petition, queen Ester? and it shall be granted you: and what is your request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed. 3 Then Ester the queen answered, If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: 4 for we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondservants and bondmaids, I had held my shalom, although the adversary could not have compensated for the king's damage. 5 Then spoke the king Achashverosh and said to Ester the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that dared presume in his heart to do so? 6 Ester said, An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen. 7 The king arose in his wrath from the banquet of wine [and went] into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Ester the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. 8 Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen on the couch whereon Ester was. Then said the king, Will he even force the queen before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face. 9 Then said Harvonah, one of the chamberlains who were before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman has made for Mordekhai, who spoke good for the king, stands in the house of Haman. The king said, Hang him thereon. 10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordekhai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.
NEW TESTAMENT: 1 CORINTHIANS 12:1 - 26
12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I don't want you to be ignorant.
2 You know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.
3 Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God's Spirit says, "Yeshua is accursed." No one can say, "Yeshua is Lord," but by the Ruach HaKodesh.
4 Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.
6 There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.
8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;
9 to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;
10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.
11 But the one and the same Spirit works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.
12 For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Messiah.
13 For in one Spirit we were all immersed into one body, whether Yehudim or Yevanim, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot would say, "Because I'm not the hand, I'm not part of the body," it is not therefore not part of the body.
16 If the ear would say, "Because I'm not the eye, I'm not part of the body," it's not therefore not part of the body.
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?
18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.
19 If they were all one member, where would the body be?
20 But now they are many members, but one body.
21 The eye can't tell the hand, "I have no need for you," or again the head to the feet, "I have no need for you."
22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.
23 Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;
24 whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,
25 that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.
26 When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." H
