PSALMS: 11
1 In the LORD do I take refuge.
How can you say to my soul,
"Flee as a bird to your mountain!"
2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bows.
They set their arrows on the strings,
That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
4 The LORD is in his holy temple.
The LORD is on his throne in heaven.
His eyes observe.
His eyes examine the children of men.
5 The LORD examines the righteous,
But the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.
6 On the wicked he will rain blazing coals;
Fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the LORD is righteous.
He loves righteousness.
The upright shall see his face.
PSALMS: 41
1 Blessed is he who considers the poor:
The LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.
2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive,
He shall be blessed on the eretz,
And he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.
3 The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed,
And restore him from his bed of illness.
4 I said, "LORD, have mercy on me.
Heal me, for I have sinned against you."
5 My enemies speak evil against me:
"When will he die, and his name perish?"
6 If he come to see me, he speaks falsehood.
His heart gathers iniquity to itself.
When he goes abroad, he tells it.
7 All who hate me whisper together against me.
They imagine the worst for me.
8 "An evil disease," they say, "has afflicted him.
Now that he lies he shall rise up no more."
9 Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted,
Who ate bread with me,
Has lifted up his heel against me.
10 But you, LORD, have mercy on me, and raise me up,
That I may repay them.
11 By this I know that you delight in me,
Because my enemy doesn't triumph over me.
12 As for me, you uphold me in my integrity,
And set me in your presence forever.
13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Yisra'el,
From everlasting and to everlasting! Amein and amein.
PSALMS: 71
1 In you, LORD, I take refuge.
Never let me be put to shame.
2 Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me.
Turn your ear to me, and save me.
3 Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go.
Give the command to save me,
For you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Rescue me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
From the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 For you are my hope, Lord GOD;
My confidence from my youth.
6 I have relied on you from the womb.
You are he who took me out of my mother's womb.
I will always praise you.
7 I am a marvel to many,
But you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth shall be filled with your praise,
With your honor all the day.
9 Don't reject me in my old age.
Don't forsake me when my strength fails.
10 For my enemies talk about me.
Those who watch for my soul conspire together,
11 Saying, "God has forsaken him.
Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him."
12 God, don't be far from me.
My God, hurry to help me.
13 Let my accusers be put to shame and consumed.
Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to harm me.
14 But I will always hope,
And will add to all of your praise.
15 My mouth will tell about your righteousness,
And of your salvation all day,
Though I don't know its full measure.
16 I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord GOD.
I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.
17 God, you have taught me from my youth.
Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.
18 Yes, even when I am old and gray-headed,
God, don't forsake me,
Until I have declared your strength to the next generation,
Your might to everyone who is to come.
19 Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens;
You who have done great things.
God, who is like you?
20 You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles,
You will let me live.
You will bring us up again from the depths of the eretz.
21 Increase my honor, And comfort me again.
22 I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God.
I sing praises to you with the lyre,
Holy One of Yisra'el.
23 My lips shall shout for joy!
My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!
24 My tongue will also talk about your righteousness all day long,
For they are put to shame, and they are confounded,
who want to harm me.
PSALMS: 101
1 I will sing of loving kindness and justice.
To you, LORD, I will sing praises.
2 I will be careful to live a blameless life.
When will you come to me?
I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.
3 I will set no vile thing before my eyes.
I hate the deeds of faithless men.
They will not cling to me.
4 A perverse heart will be far from me.
I will have nothing to do with evil.
5 I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor.
I won't tolerate one who is haughty and conceited.
6 My eyes will be on the faithful of the land,
That they may dwell with me.
He who walks in a perfect way, He will serve me.
7 He who practices deceit won't dwell within my house.
He who speaks falsehood won't be established before my eyes.
8 Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land;
To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the LORD's city.
PSALMS: 131
1 LORD, my heart isn't haughty, nor my eyes lofty;
Neither do I concern myself with great matters,
Or things too wonderful for me.
2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother,
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
3 Yisra'el, hope in the LORD,
From this time forth and forevermore.
PROVERBS: 11
1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD,
But accurate weights are his delight.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame,
But with humility comes wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them,
But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
4 Riches don't profit in the day of wrath,
But righteousness delivers from death.
5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way,
But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them,
But the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes,
And expectation of power comes to nothing.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble,
And the wicked takes his place.
9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
But the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices.
When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted,
But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom,
But a man of understanding holds his shalom.
13 One who brings gossip betrays a confidence,
But one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls,
But in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
15 He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it,
But he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
16 A gracious woman obtains honor,
But violent men obtain riches.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul,
But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18 The wicked earns deceitful wages,
But he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
19 He who is truly righteous gets life.
He who pursues evil gets death.
20 Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD,
But those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
21 Most assuredly, the evil man will not be unpunished,
But the seed of the righteous will be delivered.
22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout,
Is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good.
The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24 There is one who scatters, and increases yet more.
There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat.
He who waters shall be watered also himself.
26 He who withholds grain, the people will curse him,
But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
27 He who diligently seeks good seeks favor,
But he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall,
But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind.
The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life.
He who is wise wins souls.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the eretz;
How much more the wicked and the sinner!
OLD TESTAMENT: EXODUS 12:14 - 13:16
12:14 This day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to the LORD: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever. 15 Seven days shall you eat matzah; even the first day you shall put away yeast out of your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Yisra'el. 16 In the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no manner of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you. 17 You shall observe the feast of matzah; for in this same day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Mitzrayim: therefore shall you observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever. 18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat matzah, until the twenty first day of the month at evening. 19 Seven days shall there be no yeast found in your houses, for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Yisra'el, whether he be a sojourner, or one who is born in the land. 20 You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your habitations you shall eat matzah.'" 21 Then Moshe called for all the Zakenim of Yisra'el, and said to them, "Draw out, and take lambs according to your families, and kill the Pesach. 22 You shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. 23 For the LORD will pass through to strike the Mitzrim; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two side-posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you. 24 You shall observe this thing for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever. 25 It shall happen when you have come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he has promised, that you shall keep this service. 26 It will happen, when your children ask you, 'What do you mean by this service?' 27 that you shall say, 'It is the sacrifice of the LORD's Pesach, who passed over the houses of the children of Yisra'el in Mitzrayim, when he struck the Mitzrim, and spared our houses.'" The people bowed their heads and worshiped. 28 The children of Yisra'el went and did so; as the LORD had commanded Moshe and Aharon, so they did. 29 It happened at midnight, that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Mitzrayim, from the firstborn of Par`oh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. 30 Par`oh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Mitzrim; and there was a great cry in Mitzrayim, for there was not a house where there was not one dead. 31 He called for Moshe and Aharon by night, and said, "Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Yisra'el; and go, serve the LORD, as you have said! 32 Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also!"33 The Mitzrim were urgent with the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, "We are all dead men." 34 The people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes on their shoulders. 35 The children of Yisra'el did according to the word of Moshe; and they asked of the Mitzrim jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing. 36 The LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Mitzrim, so that they let them have what they asked. They despoiled the Mitzrim. 37 The children of Yisra'el journeyed from Ra`meses to Sukkot, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children. 38 A mixed multitude went up also with them, with flocks, herds, and even very much cattle. 39 They baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Mitzrayim; for it wasn't leavened, because they were thrust out of Mitzrayim, and couldn't wait, neither had they prepared for themselves any food. 40 Now the time that the children of Yisra'el lived in Mitzrayim was four hundred thirty years. 41 It happened at the end of four hundred thirty years, even the same day it happened, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Mitzrayim. 42 It is a night to be much observed to the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Mitzrayim. This is that night of the LORD, to be much observed of all the children of Yisra'el throughout their generations. 43 The LORD said to Moshe and Aharon, "This is the ordinance of the Pesach. There shall no foreigner eat of it, 44 but every man's servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it. 45 A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat of it. 46 In one house shall it be eaten; you shall not carry forth anything of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall you break a bone of it. 47 All the congregation of Yisra'el shall keep it. 48 When a stranger shall sojourn with you, and will keep the Pesach to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one who is born in the land: but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it. 49 One law shall be to him who is born at home, and to the stranger who sojourns among you." 50 Thus did all the children of Yisra'el. As the LORD commanded Moshe and Aharon, so they did. 51 It happened the same day, that the LORD brought the children of Yisra'el out of the land of Mitzrayim by their hosts.
13:1 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 2 "Sanctify to me all of the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Yisra'el, both of man and of animal. It is mine." 3 Moshe said to the people, "Remember this day, in which you came out from Mitzrayim, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten. 4 This day you go forth in the month Aviv. 5 It shall be, when the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Kana`ani, and the Hittite, and the Amori, and the Hivvi, and the Yevusi, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month. 6 Seven days you shall eat matzah, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD. 7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and no leavened bread shall be seen with you, neither shall there be yeast seen with you, in all your borders. 8You shall tell your son in that day, saying, 'It is because of that which the LORD did for me when I came forth out of Mitzrayim.' 9 It shall be for a sign to you on your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes, that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the LORD has brought you out of Mitzrayim. 10 You shall therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year. 11 "It shall be, when the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Kana`ani, as he swore to you and to your fathers, and shall give it you, 12 that you shall set apart to the LORD all that opens the womb, and every firstborn which you have that comes from an animal. The males shall be the LORD's. 13 Every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck; and you shall redeem all the firstborn of man among your sons. 14 It shall be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying, 'What is this?' that you shall tell him, 'By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Mitzrayim, from the house of bondage; 15 and it happened, when Par`oh would hardly let us go, that the LORD killed all the firstborn in the land of Mitzrayim, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of animal. Therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that opens the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.' 16 It shall be for a sign on your hand, and for symbols between your eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Mitzrayim."
NEW TESTAMENT: MATTHEW 20:19 - 21:22
20:19 and will hand him over to the Goyim to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up." 20 Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zavdai with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him. 21 He said to her, "What do you want?" She said to him, "Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your kingdom." 22 But Yeshua answered, "You don't know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with?" They said to him, "We are able." 23 He said to them, "You will indeed drink my cup, and be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with, but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father." 24 When the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation concerning the two brothers. 25 But Yeshua called them to himself, and said, "You know that the rulers of the Goyim lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26 It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. 27 Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." 29 As they went out from Yericho, a great multitude followed him. 30 Behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Yeshua was passing by, cried out, "Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!" 31 The multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more, "Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!" 32 Yeshua stood still, and called them, and asked, "What do you want me to do for you?" 33 They told him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened." 34Yeshua, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received their sight, and they followed him.
21:1 When they drew near to Yerushalayim, and came to Beit-Pagey, to the Mount of Olives, then Yeshua sent two talmidim, 2 saying to them, "Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them, and bring them to me. 3 If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord needs them,' and immediately he will send them." 4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, 5 "Tell the daughter of Tziyon, Behold, your King comes to you, Humble, and riding on a donkey, On a colt, the foal of a donkey." 6 The talmidim went, and did just as Yeshua commanded them, 7 and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them. 8 A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees, and spread them on the road. 9 The multitudes who went before him, and who followed, cried, "Hoshia`na to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hoshia`na in the highest!" 10 When he had come into Yerushalayim, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?" 11 The multitudes said, "This is the prophet, Yeshua, from Natzeret of the Galil."12 Yeshua entered into the temple of God, and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money-changers' tables, and the seats of those who sold the doves. 13 He said to them, "It is written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers!" 14 The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. 15 But when the chief Kohanim and the Sofrim saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, "Hoshia`na to the son of David!" they were moved with indignation, 16 and said to him, "Do you hear what these are saying?" Yeshua said to them, "Yes. Did you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?'" 17 He left them, and went forth out of the city to Beit-Anyah, and lodged there. 18 Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves. He said to it, "Let there be no fruit from you forever!" Immediately the fig tree withered away. 20 When the talmidim saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree immediately wither away?" 21 Yeshua answered them, "Most assuredly I tell you, if you have faith, and don't doubt, you will not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if you will tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will be done. 22 All things, whatever you will ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
