1 To
you, LORD, I call.
My
rock, don't be deaf to me;
Lest,
if you are silent to me,
I
would become like those who go down into the pit.
2 Hear
the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you,
When
I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.
3 Don't
draw me away with the wicked,
With
the workers of iniquity who speak shalom with their neighbors,
But
mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give
them according to their work,
and
according to the wickedness of their doings.
Give
them according to the operation of their hands.
Bring
back on them what they deserve.
5 Because
they don't regard the works of the LORD,
Nor
the operation of his hands,
He
will break them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed
be the LORD,
Because
he has heard the voice of my petitions.
7
The LORD is my strength and my shield.
My
heart has trusted in him, and I am helped.
Therefore
my heart greatly rejoices.
With
my song I will thank him.
8 The
LORD is their strength.
He
is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.
9 Save
your people, and bless your inheritance.
Be
their shepherd also, and bear them up forever.
PSALMS:

1 Do
you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones?
Do
you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?
Like
the stillborn child, who has not seen the sun.
10 The
righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance.
He
shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;
11 So
that men shall say, "Most assuredly there is a reward for the
righteous.
Most
assuredly there is a God who judges the eretz."
PSALMS:

1 LORD,
the God of my salvation,
I
have cried day and night before you.
Like
the slain who lie in the grave,
Whom
you remember no more.
They
are cut off from your hand.
You
have made me an abomination to them.
I
am confined, and I can't escape.
12 Are
your wonders made known in the dark?
Or
your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
13 But
to you, LORD, I have cried.
In
the morning, my prayer comes before you.
14 LORD,
why do you reject my soul?
Why
do you hide your face from me?
15 I
am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up.
While
I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.
16 Your
fierce wrath has gone over me.
Your
terrors have cut me off.
17 They
came around me like water all day long.
They
completely engulfed me.
18 You
have put lover and friend far from me,
And
my friends into darkness.

1 Praise
the LORD!
Praise
the LORD from the heavens!
Praise
him in the heights!
For
his name alone is exalted.
His
glory is above the eretz and the heavens.
The
praise of all his holy ones;
Even
of the children of Yisra'el, a people near to him.
Praise
the LORD!

1 The
wicked flee when no one pursues;
But
the righteous are as bold as a lion.
But
order is maintained by a man of understanding and knowledge.
Than
he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich.
He
will fall into his own trap;
But
the blameless will inherit good.
One
who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.
19 One
who works his land will have an abundance of food;
But
one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
20 A
faithful man is rich with blessings;
But
one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21 To
show partiality is not good;
Yet
a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
22 A
stingy man hurries after riches,
And
doesn't know that poverty waits for him.
23 One
who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor
Than
one who flatters with the tongue.
24
Whoever
robs his father or his mother, and says,
"It's
not wrong."
He
is a partner with a destroyer.
25 One
who is greedy stirs up strife;
But
one who trusts in the LORD will prosper.
26 One
who trusts in himself is a fool;
But
one who walks in wisdom, he is kept safe.
27
One
who gives to the poor has no lack;
But
one who closes his eyes will have many curses.
28 When
the wicked rise, men hide themselves;
But
when they perish, the righteous thrive.
OLD
TESTAMENT:
JEREMIAH 30:1 - 31:26
30:1 This
is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2 “This
is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Write in a book all
the words I have spoken to you. 3 The
days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will bring my
people Israel and Judah back from captivity and restore them to the
land I gave their ancestors to possess,’ says the LORD.” 4 These
are the words the LORD spoke concerning Israel and Judah: 5 “This
is what the LORD says: “ ‘Cries of fear are heard— terror, not
peace. 6 Ask
and see: Can a man bear children? Then why do I see every strong man
with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor, every face
turned deathly pale? 7
How
awful that day will be! No other will be like it. It will be a time
of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it. 8 “
‘In that day,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘I will break the
yoke off their necks and will tear off their bonds; no longer will
foreigners enslave them. 9 Instead,
they will serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will
raise up for them. 10 “
‘So do not be afraid, Jacob my servant; do not be dismayed,
Israel,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will surely save you out of a
distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob
will again have peace and security, and no one will make him
afraid. 11 I
am with you and will save you,’ declares the LORD. ‘Though I
completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you, I will
not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only in due
measure; I will not let you go entirely unpunished.’ 12 “This
is what the LORD says: “ ‘Your wound is incurable, your injury
beyond healing. 13
There
is no one to plead your cause, no remedy for your sore, no healing
for you. 14 All
your allies have forgotten you; they care nothing for you. I have
struck you as an enemy would and punished you as would the cruel,
because your guilt is so great and your sins so many. 15 Why
do you cry out over your wound, your pain that has no cure? Because
of your great guilt and many sins I have done these things to
you. 16 “
‘But all who devour you will be devoured; all your enemies will go
into exile. Those who plunder you will be plundered; all who make
spoil of you I will despoil. 17 But
I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the
LORD, ‘because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one
cares.’ 18 “This
is what the LORD says: “ ‘I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s
tents and have compassion on his dwellings; the city will be rebuilt
on her ruins, and the palace will stand in its proper place. 19 From
them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I
will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will
bring them honor, and they will not be disdained. 20Their
children will be as in days of old, and their community will be
established before me; I will punish all who oppress them. 21 Their
leader will be one of their own; their ruler will arise from among
them. I will bring him near and he will come close to me— for who
is he who will devote himself to be close to me?’ declares the
LORD. 22 “‘So
you will be my people, and I will be your God.’ ” 23 See,
the storm of the LORD will burst out in wrath, a driving wind
swirling down on the heads of the wicked. 24
The
fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back until he fully
accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will
understand this.
31:1 “At
that time,” declares the LORD, “I will be the God of all the
families of Israel, and they will be my people.” 2 This
is what the LORD says: “The people who survive the sword will find
favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.” 3 The
LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an
everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. 4 I
will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt.
Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the
joyful. 5 Again
you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria; the farmers will
plant them and enjoy their fruit. 6 There
will be a day when watchmen cry out on the hills of Ephraim, ‘Come,
let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God.’ ” 7 This
is what the LORD says: “Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the
foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard, and say, ‘LORD,
save your people, the remnant of Israel.’ 8 See,
I will bring them from the land of the north and gather them from
the ends of the earth. Among them will be the blind and the lame,
expectant mothers and women in labor; a great throng will
return. 9 They
will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will
lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will
not stumble, because I am Israel’s father, and Ephraim is my
firstborn son. 10 “Hear
the word of the LORD, you nations; proclaim it in distant
coastlands: ‘He who scattered Israel will gather them and will
watch over his flock like a shepherd.’ 11 For
the LORD will deliver Jacob and redeem them from the hand of those
stronger than they. 12 They
will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will
rejoice in the bounty of the LORD— the grain, the new wine and the
olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a
well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more. 13 Then
young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I
will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and
joy instead of sorrow. 14 I
will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be
filled with my bounty,” declares the LORD. 15 This
is what the LORD says: “A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and
great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be
comforted, because they are no more.” 16 This
is what the LORD says: “Restrain your voice from weeping and your
eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,” declares the
LORD. “They will return from the land of the enemy.
17
So there is hope for your descendants,” declares the LORD. “Your
children will return to their own land. 18 “I
have surely heard Ephraim’s moaning: ‘You disciplined me like an
unruly calf, and I have been disciplined. Restore me, and I will
return, because you are the LORD my God. 19 After
I strayed, I repented; after I came to understand, I beat my breast.
I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my
youth.’20 Is
not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom I delight? Though I often
speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore my heart yearns
for him; I have great compassion for him,” declares the LORD.
21 “Set
up road signs; put up guideposts. Take note of the highway, the road
that you take. Return, Virgin Israel, return to your towns. 22 How
long will you wander, unfaithful Daughter Israel? The LORD will
create a new thing on earth— the woman will return to the
man.” 23 This
is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “When I bring
them back from captivity, the people in the land of Judah and in its
towns will once again use these words: ‘The LORD bless you, you
prosperous city, you sacred mountain.’24 People
will live together in Judah and all its towns—farmers and those
who move about with their flocks. 25 I
will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” 26 At
this I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant to me.
NEW
TESTAMENT:
1 TIMOTHY 2:1 - 15
Instructions on Worship
1 I
urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and
thanksgiving be made for all people—
2 for
kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and
quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
3 This
is good, and pleases God our Savior,
4 who
wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the
truth.
5 For
there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man
Christ Jesus,
6 who
gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed
to at the proper time.
7
And
for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am
telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher
of the Gentiles.
8 Therefore
I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without
anger or disputing.
9 I
also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety,
adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls
or expensive clothes,
10
but
with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
11 A
woman should learn in quietness and full submission.
12 I
do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a
man; she must be quiet.
13 For
Adam was formed first, then Eve.
14 And
Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and
became a sinner.
15 But
women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in
faith, love and holiness with propriety.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
