1 Judge
me, LORD, for I have walked in my integrity.
I
have trusted also in LORD without wavering.
2 Examine
me, LORD, and prove me.
Try
my heart and my mind.
3 For
your loving kindness is before my eyes.
I
have walked in your truth.
4 I
have not sat with deceitful men,
Neither
will I go in with hypocrites.
5 I
hate the assembly of evil-doers,
And
will not sit with the wicked.
6 I
will wash my hands in innocence,
So
I will go about your altar, LORD;
7 That
I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard,
And
tell of all your wondrous works.
8 LORD,
I love the habitation of your house,
The
place where your glory dwells.
9 Don't
gather my soul with sinners,
Nor
my life with bloodthirsty men;
10 In
whose hands is wickedness,
Their
right hand is full of bribes.
11 But
as for me, I will walk in my integrity.
Redeem
me, and be merciful to me.
12 My
foot stands in an even place.
In
the congregations will I bless the LORD.
PSALMS:
56
1 Be
merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up.
All
day long, he attacks and oppresses me.
13 For
you have delivered my soul from death,
And
prevented my feet from falling,
That
I may walk before God in the light of the living.
PSALMS:
86
1 Hear,
LORD, and answer me,
For
I am poor and needy.
Abundant
in loving kindness to all those who call on you.
14 God,
the proud have risen up against me.
A
company of violent men have sought after my soul,
And
they don't hold regard for you before them.
15
But
you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God,
Slow
to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth.
16 Turn
to me, and have mercy on me!
Give
your strength to your servant.
Save
the son of your handmaid.
17
Show me a sign of your goodness,
That
those who hate me may see it, and be put to shame,
Because
you, LORD, have helped me, and comforted me.
PSALMS:
116
1 I
love the LORD, because he listens to my voice,
And
my cries for mercy.
The
pains of She'ol got a hold on me.
I
found trouble and sorrow.
I
am your servant, the son of your handmaid.
You
have freed me from my chains.
18 I
will pay my vows to the LORD,
Yes,
in the presence of all his people,
19 In
the courts of the LORD's house,
In
the midst of you, Yerushalayim.
Praise
the LORD!
PSALMS:

1 Praise
the LORD!
Praise
the LORD, my soul.
Who
gives food to the hungry.
The
LORD frees the prisoners.
The
LORD raises up those who are bowed down.
The
LORD loves the righteous.
He
upholds the fatherless and widow,
But
the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
PROVERBS:

snow in summer, and as rain in harvest,
So
honor is not fitting for a fool.
20 For
lack of wood the fire goes out;
Where
there is no gossip, a quarrel dies down.
21 As
coals are to hot embers, And wood to fire,
So
is a contentious man to kindle strife.
22 The
words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels,
They
go down into the innermost parts.
silver dross on an earthen vessel
Are
the lips of a fervent one with an evil heart.
24 A
malicious man disguises himself with his lips,
But
he harbors evil in his heart.
25
When
his speech is charming, don't believe him;
For
there are seven abominations in his heart:
26 His
malice may be concealed by deception,
But
his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
27
Whoever
digs a pit shall fall into it. ‘
Whoever
rolls a stone, it will come back on him.
OLD
TESTAMENT:
JEREMIAH 26:1 - 27:22
26:1 Early
in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word
came from the LORD: 2 “This
is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD’s house
and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to
worship in the house of the LORD. Tell them everything I command
you; do not omit a word. 3 Perhaps
they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I
will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning
because of the evil they have done. 4 Say
to them, ‘This is what the LORD says: If you do not listen to me
and follow my law, which I have set before you, 5 and
if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom
I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened), 6
then
I will make this house like Shiloh and this city a curse among all
the nations of the earth.’ ” 7
The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak
these words in the house of the LORD. 8 But
as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the
LORD had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the
people seized him and said, “You must die! 9 Why
do you prophesy in the LORD’s name that this house will be like
Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?” And all the
people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the LORD. 10 When
the officials of Judah heard about these things, they went up from
the royal palace to the house of the LORD and took their places at
the entrance of the New Gate of the LORD’s house. 11 Then
the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the
people, “This man should be sentenced to death because he has
prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own
ears!” 12 Then
Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: “The LORD
sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things
you have heard. 13 Now
reform your ways and your actions and obey the LORD your God. Then
the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced
against you. 14 As
for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good
and right. 15 Be
assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the
guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those
who live in it, for in truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak
all these words in your hearing.” 16 Then
the officials and all the people said to the priests and the
prophets, “This man should not be sentenced to death! He has
spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.” 17
Some
of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire
assembly of people, 18 “Micah
of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He
told all the people of Judah, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty
says: “ ‘Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become
a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with
thickets.’ 19
“Did
Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did
not Hezekiah fear the LORD and seek his favor? And did not the LORD
relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against
them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on
ourselves!” 20 (Now
Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath Jearim was another man who
prophesied in the name of the LORD; he prophesied the same things
against this city and this land as Jeremiah did. 21 When
King Jehoiakim and all his officers and officials heard his words,
the king was determined to put him to death. But Uriah heard of it
and fled in fear to Egypt. 22 King
Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Akbor to Egypt, along with
some other men. 23 They
brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had
him struck down with a sword and his body thrown into the burial
place of the common people.) 24
Furthermore,
Ahikam son of Shaphan supported Jeremiah, and so he was not handed
over to the people to be put to death.
27:1 Early
in the reign of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came
to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2 This
is what the LORD said to me: “Make a yoke out of straps and
crossbars and put it on your neck. 3 Then
send word to the kings of Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyre and Sidon through
the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of
Judah. 4 Give
them a message for their masters and say, ‘This is what the LORD
Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Tell this to your
masters: 5 With
my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people
and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I
please. 6 Now
I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals
subject to him. 7 All
nations will serve him and his son and his grandson until the time
for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate
him. 8 “
‘ “If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I
will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares
the LORD, until I destroy it by his hand. 9 So
do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of
dreams, your mediums or your sorcerers who tell you, ‘You will not
serve the king of Babylon.’ 10 They
prophesy lies to you that will only serve to remove you far from
your lands; I will banish you and you will perish. 11 But
if any nation will bow its neck under the yoke of the king of
Babylon and serve him, I will let that nation remain in its own land
to till it and to live there, declares the LORD.” ’ ” 12 I
gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said, “Bow your
neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his
people, and you will live. 13 Why
will you and your people die by the sword, famine and plague with
which the LORD has threatened any nation that will not serve the
king of Babylon? 14 Do
not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, ‘You will
not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying lies to
you. 15
‘I
have not sent them,’ declares the LORD. ‘They are prophesying
lies in my name. Therefore, I will banish you and you will perish,
both you and the prophets who prophesy to you.’ ” 16 Then
I said to the priests and all these people, “This is what the LORD
says: Do not listen to the prophets who say, ‘Very soon now the
articles from the LORD’s house will be brought back from Babylon.’
They are prophesying lies to you. 17
Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and you will live.
Why should this city become a ruin? 18 If
they are prophets and have the word of the LORD, let them plead with
the LORD Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the
LORD and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be
taken to Babylon. 19 For
this is what the LORD Almighty says about the pillars, the bronze
Sea, the movable stands and the other articles that are left in this
city, 20 which
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take away when he carried
Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah into exile from Jerusalem
to Babylon, along with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem— 21
yes,
this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says about the
things that are left in the house of the LORD and in the palace of
the king of Judah and in Jerusalem: 22 ‘They
will be taken to Babylon and there they will remain until the day I
come for them,’ declares the LORD. ‘Then I will bring them back
and restore them to this place.’ ”

TESTAMENT:
2 THESSALONIANS 3:1 - 18
Request for Prayer
3:1 As
for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the
message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it
was with you.
2 And
pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not
everyone has faith.
3 But
the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you
from the evil one.
4 We
have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to
do the things we command.
5 May
the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s
perseverance.
6 In
the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and
sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive
and does not live according to the teaching you received from
us.
7
For
you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not
idle when we were with you,
8 nor
did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary,
we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not
be a burden to any of you.
9 We
did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in
order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate.
10
For
even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is
unwilling to work shall not eat.”
11 We
hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy;
they are busybodies.
12 Such
people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down
and earn the food they eat.
13 And
as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.
14 Take
special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this
letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel
ashamed.
15 Yet
do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow
believer.
16 Now
may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in
every way. The Lord be with all of you.
17 I,
Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the
distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write.
18 The
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
