THEinc-HIM Daily Bible Meditation – December 10 – Full Text – Shabbat Shalom!

Genesis 1:1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

DECEMBER 10

PSALMS: 10, 40, 70, 100, 130

PROVERBS: 10

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 24:1 - 25:46

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 10:13 - 21

PSALMS: 10

1 Why do you stand far off, LORD?

Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

2 In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak;

They are caught in the schemes that they devise.

3 For the wicked boasts of his heart's cravings,

He blesses the greedy, and condemns the LORD.

4 The wicked, in the pride of his face,

Has no room in his thoughts for God.

5 His ways are prosperous at all times;

He is haughty, and your laws are far from his sight:

As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.

6 He says in his heart, "I shall not be shaken;

For generations I shall have no trouble."

7  His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression.

Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

8 He lies in wait near the villages.

From ambushes, he murders the innocent.

His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.

9 He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush.

He lies in wait to catch the helpless.

He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net.

10 The helpless are crushed, they collapse,

They fall under his strength.

11 He says in his heart, "God has forgotten.

He hides his face. He will never see it."

12 Arise, LORD! God, lift up your hand!

Don't forget the helpless.

13 Why does the wicked condemn God,

And say in his heart, "God won't call me into account?"

14 But you do see trouble and grief;

You consider it to take it into your hand.

You help the victim and the fatherless.

15 Break the arm of the wicked.

As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.

16 The LORD is King forever and ever!

The nations will perish out of his land.

17 LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble.

You will prepare their heart.

You will cause your ear to hear,

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed,

That man who is of the eretz may terrify no more.

PSALMS: 40

1 I waited patiently for the LORD.

He turned to me, and heard my cry.

2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay.

He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.

3 He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God.

Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust,

And doesn't respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

5 Many, LORD, my God, are the wonderful works which you have done,

And your thoughts which are toward us.

They can't be set in order to you;

If I would declare and speak of them,

they are more than can be numbered.

6 Sacrifice and offering you didn't desire.

My ears have you opened:

Burnt offering and sin offering have you not required.

7 Then I said, "Behold, I have come.

It is written about me in the book in the scroll.

8 I delight to do your will, my God.

Yes, your law is within my heart."

9 I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly.

Behold, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know.

10 I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart.

I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation.

I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.

11 Don't withhold your tender mercies from me, LORD.

Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me.

12 For innumerable evils have surrounded me.

My iniquities have overtaken me,

so that I am not able to look up.

They are more than the hairs of my head.

My heart has failed me.

13 Be pleased, LORD, to deliver me.

Hurry to help me, LORD.

14 Let them be put to shame and confounded together

who seek after my soul to destroy it.

Let them be turned backward and

brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.

15 Let them be desolate by reason of their shame that tell me, "Aha! Aha!"

16 Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you.

Let such as love your salvation say continually,

"Let the LORD be exalted!"

17 But I am poor and needy;

May the Lord think about me.

You are my help and my deliverer.

Don't delay, my God.

PSALMS: 70

1 Hurry, God, to deliver me.

Come quickly to help me, LORD.

2 Let them be put to shame and confounded who seek my soul.

Let those who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.

3 Let them be turned because of their shame

Who say, "Aha! Aha!"

4 Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you.

Let those who love your yeshu`ah continually say,

"Let God be exalted!"

5 But I am poor and needy.

Come to me quickly, God.

You are my help and my deliverer,

LORD, don't delay.

PSALMS: 100

1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all you lands!

2 Serve the LORD with gladness.

Come before his presence with singing.

3 Know that the LORD, he is God.

It is he who has made us, and we are his.

We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,

Into his courts with praise.

Give thanks to him, and bless his name.

5 For the LORD is good.

His loving kindness endures forever,

His faithfulness to all generations.

PSALMS: 130

1 Out of the depths I have cried to you, LORD.

2 Lord, hear my voice.

Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.

3 If you, the LORD, kept a record of sins,

Lord, who could stand?

4 But there is forgiveness with you,

Therefore you are feared.

5 I wait for the LORD.

My soul waits.

I hope in his word.

6 My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning;

More than watchmen for the morning.

7 Yisra'el, hope in the LORD,

For with the LORD there is loving kindness.

With him is abundant redemption.

8 He will redeem Yisra'el from all their sins.

PROVERBS: 10

1 The proverbs of Shlomo.

A wise son makes a glad father;

But a foolish son brings grief to his mother.

2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing,

But righteousness delivers from death.

3 The LORD will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry,

But he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.

4 He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand,

But the hand of the diligent brings wealth.

5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son,

But he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame.

6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous,

But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

7 The memory of the righteous is blessed,

But the name of the wicked will rot.

8 The wise in heart accept mitzvot,

But a chattering fool will fall.

9 He who walks blamelessly walks surely,

But he who perverts his ways will be found out.

10 One winking with the eye causes sorrow,

But a chattering fool will fall.

11 The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life,

But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

12Hatred stirs up strife,

But love covers all wrongs.

13 Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment,

But a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.

14 Wise men lay up knowledge,

But the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.

15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city.

The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

16 The labor of the righteous leads to life.

The increase of the wicked leads to sin.

17  He is in the way of life who heeds correction,

But he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.

18 He who hides hatred has lying lips.

He who utters a slander is a fool.

19 In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience,

But he who restrains his lips does wisely.

20 The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver.

The heart of the wicked is of little worth.

21 The lips of the righteous feed many,

But the foolish die for lack of understanding.

22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth,

And he adds no trouble to it.

23 It is a fool's pleasure to do wickedness,

But wisdom is a man of understanding's pleasure.

24 What the wicked fear, will overtake them,

But the desire of the righteous will be granted.

25 When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more;

But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes,

So is the sluggard to those who send him.

27 The fear of the LORD prolongs days,

But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28 The prospect of the righteous is joy,

But the hope of the wicked will perish.

29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright,

But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

30 The righteous will never be removed,

But the wicked will not dwell in the land.

31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,

But the perverse tongue will be cut off.

32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,

But the mouth of the wicked is perverse.

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 24:1 - 25:46

24:1 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 2 Command the children of Yisra'el, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually. 3 Outside of the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aharon keep it in order from evening to morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. 4 He shall keep in order the lamps on the pure menorah before the LORD continually. 5 You shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two tenth parts [of an efah] shall be in one cake. 6 You shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure table before the LORD. 7  You shall put pure frankincense on each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to the LORD. 8 Every Shabbat day he shall set it in order before the LORD continually; it is on the behalf of the children of Yisra'el, an everlasting covenant. 9 It shall be for Aharon and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy to him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute. 10 The son of an Yisra'elite woman, whose father was a Mitzrian, went out among the children of Yisra'el; and the son of the Yisra'elite woman and a man of Yisra'el strove together in the camp: 11 and the son of the Yisra'elite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moshe. His mother's name was Shelomit, the daughter of Divri, of the tribe of Dan. 12 They put him in custody, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of the LORD. 13 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 14 Bring forth him who has cursed outside of the camp; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him. 15 You shall speak to the children of Yisra'el, saying, Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. 16 He who blasphemes the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemes the name [of the LORD], shall be put to death. 17 He who strikes any man mortally shall surely be put to death. 18 He who strikes a animal mortally shall make it good, life for life. 19 If a man cause a blemish in his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him: 20 breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be rendered to him. 21 He who kills a animal shall make it good: and he who kills a man shall be put to death. 22 You shall have one kind of law, as well for the sojourner, as for the home-born: for I am the LORD your God. 23 Moshe spoke to the children of Yisra'el; and they brought forth him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. The children of Yisra'el did as the LORD commanded Moshe.

25:1 The LORD spoke to Moshe in Mount Sinai, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Yisra'el, and tell them, When you come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a Shabbat to the LORD. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather in the fruits of it; 4 but in the seventh year shall be a Shabbat of solemn rest for the land, a Shabbat to the LORD: you shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard. 5 That which grows of itself of your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your undressed vine you shall not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land. 6 The Shabbat of the land shall be for food for you; for you, and for your servant and for your maid, and for your hired servant and for your stranger, who sojourn with you. 7 For your cattle, and for the animals that are in your land, shall all the increase of it be for food. 8 You shall number seven Shabbatot of years to you, seven times seven years; and there shall be to you the days of seven Shabbatot of years, even forty-nine years. 9 Then shall you send abroad the loud shofar on the tenth day of the seventh month; in Yom Kippur shall you send abroad the shofar throughout all your land. 10 You shall make the fiftieth year holy, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all the inhabitants of it: it shall be a jubilee to you; and you shall return every man to his possession, and you shall return every man to his family. 11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be to you: you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself in it, nor gather [the grapes] in it of the undressed vines. 12 For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you: you shall eat the increase of it out of the field. 13 In this year of jubilee you shall return every man to his possession. 14 If you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy of your neighbor's hand, you shall not wrong one another. 15 According to the number of years after the jubilee you shall buy of your neighbor, [and] according to the number of years of the crops he shall sell to you. 16 According to the length of the years you shall increase the price of it, and according to the shortness of the years you shall diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops does he sell to you. 17  You shall not wrong one another; but you shall fear your God: for I am the LORD your God. 18 Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety. 19 The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. 20 If you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase; 21 then I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years. 22 You shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old store. 23 The land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is mine: for you are strangers and sojourners with me. 24 In all the land of your possession you shall grant a redemption for the land. 25 If your brother be grew poor, and sell some of his possession, then shall his kinsman who is next to him come, and shall redeem that which his brother has sold. 26 If a man have no one to redeem it, and he be grew rich and find sufficient to redeem it; 27  then let him reckon the years of the sale of it, and restore the surplus to the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his possession. 28 But if he isn't able to get it back for himself, then that which he has sold shall remain in the hand of him who has bought it until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return to his possession. 29 If a man sell a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; for a full year shall he have the right of redemption. 30 If it isn't redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him who bought it, throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee. 31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee. 32 Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time. 33 If one of the Levites redeem, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Yisra'el. 34 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession. 35 If your brother has grown poor, and his hand fail with you; then you shall uphold him: [as] a stranger and a sojourner shall he live with you. 36 Take no interest of him or increase, but fear your God; that your brother may live with you. 37 You shall not give him your money on interest, nor give him your victuals for increase. 38 I am the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Mitzrayim, to give you the land of Kana`an, [and] to be your God. 39 If your brother has grown poor with you, and sell himself to you; you shall not make him to serve as a bond-servant. 40 As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with you; he shall serve with you to the year of jubilee: 41 then shall he go out from you, he and his children with him, and shall return to his own family, and to the possession of his fathers shall he return. 42 For they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Mitzrayim: they shall not be sold as bondservants. 43 You shall not rule over him with rigor, but shall fear your God. 44 As for your bondservants, and your bondmaids, whom you shall have; of the nations that are round about you, of them shall you buy bondservants and bondmaids. 45 Moreover of the children of the strangers who sojourn among you, of them shall you buy, and of their families who are with you, which they have conceived in your land: and they shall be your possession. 46 You shall make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them shall you take your bondservants forever: but over your brothers the children of Yisra'el you shall not rule, one over another, with rigor.

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 10:13 - 21

10:13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the talmidim rebuked those who were bringing them.

14 But when Yeshua saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me! Don't forbid them, for to such belong the kingdom of God.

15 Most assuredly I tell you, whoever will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter therein."

16 He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

17 As he was going forth into the way, one ran to him, kneeled to him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?"

18 Yeshua said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one -- God.

19 You know the mitzvot: 'Do not murder,' 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not give false testimony,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and mother.'"

20 He said to him, "Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth."

21 Yeshua looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross."

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
