DECEMBER 7

PSALMS: 7, 37, 67, 97, 127

PROVERBS: 7

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 19:1 - 20:21

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 8:11 - 38

PSALMS: 7

1 LORD, my God, I take refuge in you.

Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,

2 Lest they tear apart my soul like a lion,

Rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

3 LORD, my God, if I have done this,

If there is iniquity in my hands,

4 If I have rewarded evil to him who was at shalom with me

(Yes, I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),

5 Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it;

Yes, let him tread my life down to the eretz,

And lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

6 Arise, LORD, in your anger.

Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries.

Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.

7 Let the congregation of the peoples surround you.

Rule over them on high.

8 The LORD administers judgment to the peoples.

Judge me, LORD, according to my righteousness,

And to my integrity that is in me.

9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,

But establish the righteous;

Their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.

10 My shield is with God,

Who saves the upright in heart.

11 God is a righteous judge,

Yes, a God who has indignation every day.

12 If a man doesn't relent, he will sharpen his sword;

He has bent and strung his bow.

13 He has also prepared for himself the instruments of death.

He makes ready his flaming arrows.

14 Behold, he travails with iniquity;

Yes, he has conceived mischief and brought forth falsehood.

15 He has dug a hole,

And has fallen into the pit which he made.

16 The trouble he causes shall return to his own head.

His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.

17 I will give thanks to the LORD according to his righteousness,

And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Elyon.

PSALMS: 37

1 Don't fret because of evil-doers,

Neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,

And wither like the green herb.

3 Trust in the LORD, and do good.

Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Also delight yourself in the LORD,

And he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD.

Trust also in him, and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness go forth as the light,

And your justice as the noon day sun.

7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him.

Don't fret because of him who prospers in his way,

Because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.

8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath.

Don't fret, it leads only to evildoing.

9 For evildoers shall be cut off,

But those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the land.

10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more.

Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.

11 But the humble shall inherit the land,

And shall delight themselves in the abundance of shalom.

12 The wicked plots against the just,

And gnashes at him with his teeth.

13 The Lord will laugh at him,

For he sees that his day is coming.

14 The wicked have drawn out the sword,

and have bent their bow,

To cast down the poor and needy,

To kill those who are upright in the way.

15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart.

Their bows shall be broken.

16 Better is a little that the righteous has,

Than the abundance of many wicked.

17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,

But the LORD upholds the righteous.

18 The LORD knows the days of the perfect.

Their inheritance shall be forever.

19 They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil.

In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20 But the wicked shall perish.

The enemies of the LORD shall be like the beauty of the fields.

They will vanish -- Vanish like smoke.

21 The wicked borrow, and don't pay back,

But the righteous give generously.

22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land.

Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.

23 A man's goings are established by the LORD.

He delights in his way.

24 Though he stumble, he shall not fall,

For the LORD holds him up with his hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old,

Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,

Nor his children begging for bread.

26 All day long he deals graciously, and lends.

His seed is blessed.

27 Depart from evil, and do good;

Live securely forever.

28 For the LORD loves justice,

And doesn't forsake his holy ones.

They are preserved forever,

But the children of the wicked shall be cut off.

29 The righteous shall inherit the land,

And live in it forever.

30 The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom.

His tongue speaks justice.

31 The law of his God is in his heart.

None of his steps shall slide.

32 The wicked watches the righteous,

And seeks to kill him.

33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand,

Nor condemn him when he is judged.

34 Wait for the LORD, and keep his way,

And he will exalt you to inherit the land.

When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

35 I have seen the wicked in great power,

Spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.

36 But he passed away, and, behold, he was not.

Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37 Mark the perfect man, and see the upright,

For there is a future for the man of shalom.

38 As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together.

The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD.

He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.

40 The LORD helps them, and rescues them.

He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them,

Because they have taken refuge in him.

PSALMS: 67

1 May God be merciful to us, bless us,

And cause his face to shine on us. Selah.

2 That your way may be known on eretz,

And your yeshu`ah among all nations,

3 Let the peoples praise you, God.

Let all the peoples praise you.

4 Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy,

For you will judge the peoples with equity,

And govern the nations on eretz.

Selah.

5 Let the peoples praise you, God.

Let all the peoples praise you.

6 The eretz has yielded its increase.

God, even our own God, will bless us.

7 God will bless us.

All the ends of the eretz shall fear him.

PSALMS: 97

1 The LORD reigns!

Let the eretz rejoice.

Let the multitude of islands be glad.

2 Clouds and darkness are around him.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3 A fire goes before him,

And burns up his adversaries on every side.

4 His lightning lights up the world;

The eretz sees, and trembles.

5 The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD,

At the presence of the Lord of the whole eretz.

6 The heavens declare his righteousness.

All the peoples have seen his glory.

7 Let all them be put to shame who serve engraved images,

Who boast in their idols.

Worship him, all you gods!

8 Tziyon heard and was glad.

The daughters of Yehudah rejoiced,

Because of your judgments, LORD.

9 For you, LORD, are most high above all the eretz.

You are exalted far above all gods.

10 You who love the LORD, hate evil.

He preserves the souls of his holy ones.

He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous,

And gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Be glad in the LORD, you righteous people!

Give thanks to his holy Name.

PSALMS: 127

1 Unless the LORD builds the house,

They labor in vain who build it.

Unless the LORD watches over the city,

The watchman guards it in vain.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early,

To stay up late, Eating the bread of toil;

For he gives sleep to his loved ones.

3 Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD.

The fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man,

So are the children of youth.

5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.

They won't be put to shame when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

PROVERBS: 7

1 My son, keep my words.

Lay up my mitzvot within you.

2 Keep my mitzvot and live;

Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.

3 Bind them on your fingers.

Write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Tell wisdom, "You are my sister."

Call understanding your relative,

5 That they may keep you from the strange woman,

From the foreigner who flatters with her words.

6 For at the window of my house,

I looked forth through my lattice.

7 I saw among the simple ones.

I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,

8Passing through the street near her corner,

He went the way to her house,

9 In the twilight, in the evening of the day,

In the middle of the night and in the darkness.

10 Behold, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute,

And with crafty intent.

11 She is loud and defiant.

Her feet don't stay in her house.

12 Now she is in the streets, now in the squares,

And lurking at every corner.

13 So she caught him, and kissed him.

With an impudent face she said to him:

14 "Sacrifices of peace-offerings are with me.

This day I have paid my vows.

15 Therefore I came out to meet you,

To diligently seek your face, And I have found you.

16 I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry,

With striped cloths of the yarn of Mitzrayim.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh,

aloes, and cinnamon.

18 Come, let's take our fill of loving until the morning.

Let's solace ourselves with loving.

19 For my husband isn't at home.

He has gone on a long journey.

20 He has taken a bag of money with him.

He will come home at the full moon."

21 With persuasive words, she led him astray.

With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.

22 He followed her immediately,

As an ox goes to the slaughter,

As a fool stepping into a noose.

23 Until an arrow strikes through his liver,

As a bird hurries to the snare,

And doesn't know that it will cost his life.

24 Now therefore, sons, listen to me.

Pay attention to the words of my mouth.

25 Don't let your heart turn to her ways.

Don't go astray in her paths,

26 For she has thrown down many wounded.

Yes, all her slain are a mighty host.

27 Her house is the way to She'ol,

Going down to the chambers of death.

OLD TESTAMENT: LEVITICUS 19:1 - 20:21

19:1 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 2 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el, and tell them, You shall be holy; for I the LORD your God am holy. 3 You shall fear every man his mother, and his father; and you shall keep my Shabbatot: I am the LORD your God. 4 Don't turn to idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God. 5 When you offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings to the LORD, you shall offer it that you may be accepted. 6 It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day: and if anything remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire. 7 If it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted: 8 but everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from his people. 9 When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleaning of your harvest. 10 You shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God. 11 You shall not steal; neither shall you deal falsely, nor lie one to another. 12 You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your God: I am the LORD. 13 You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. 14 You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind; but you shall fear your God: I am the LORD. 15 You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor. 16 You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor: I am the LORD. 17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. 18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD. 19 You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a diverse kind: you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come on you a garment of two kinds of stuff mixed together.

20 Whoever lies carnally with a woman, who is a bondmaid, pledged to be married to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. 21 He shall bring his trespass-offering to the LORD, to the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a trespass-offering. 22 The Kohen shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before the LORD for his sin which he has sinned: and the sin which he has sinned shall be forgiven him. 23 When you shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then you shall count the fruit of it as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised to you; it shall not be eaten. 24 But in the fourth year all the fruit of it shall be holy, for giving praise to the LORD. 25 In the fifth year shall you eat of the fruit of it, that it may yield to you the increase of it: I am the LORD your God. 26 You shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall you use enchantments, nor practice sorcery. 27 You shall not cut the hair on the sides of your heads, neither shall you clip off the edge of your beard. 28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks on you: I am the LORD. 29 Don't profane your daughter, to make her a prostitute; lest the land fall to prostitution, and the land become full of wickedness. 30 You shall keep my Shabbatot, and reverence my sanctuary; I am the LORD. 31 Don't turn to those who have familiar spirits, nor to the wizards; don't seek them out, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. 32 You shall rise up before the gray head, and honor the face of the old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the LORD. 33 If a stranger sojourn with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. 34 The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the home-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were sojourners in the land of Mitzrayim: I am the LORD your God. 35 You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity. 36 Just balances, just weights, a just efah, and a just hin, shall you have: I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Mitzrayim. 37 You shall observe all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them: I am the LORD.

201: The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying, 2 Moreover, you shall tell the children of Yisra'el, Whoever he be of the children of Yisra'el, or of the strangers who sojourn in Yisra'el, who gives of his seed to Molekh; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3 I also will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he has given of his seed to Molekh, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. 4 If the people at the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he gives of his seed to Molekh, and don't put him to death; 5 then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all who play the prostitute after him, to play the prostitute with Molekh, from among their people. 6 The soul that turns to those who have familiar spirits, and to the wizards, to play the prostitute after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. 7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the LORD your God. 8 You shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD who sanctifies you. 9 For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be on him. 10 The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, even he who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. 11 The man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them. 12 If a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have created confusion; their blood shall be on them. 13 If a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them. 14 If a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. 15 If a man lie with a animal, he shall surely be put to death: and you shall kill the animal. 16 If a woman approach to any animal, and lie down thereto, you shall kill the woman, and the animal: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them. 17 If a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people: he has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity. 18 If a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people. 19 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, nor of your father's sister; for he has made naked his close relative: they shall bear their iniquity. 20 If a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. 21 If a man shall take his brother's wife, it is impurity: he has uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

NEW TESTAMENT: MARK 8:11 - 38

8:11 The Perushim came out and began to question him, seeking a sign from heaven from him, and tempting him.

12 He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Most assuredly I tell you, there will no sign be given to this generation."

13 He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side.

14 They forgot to take bread; and they didn't have more than one loaf in the boat with them.

15 He charged them, saying, "Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Perushim and the yeast of Herod."

16 They reasoned with one another, saying, "It's because we have no bread."

17 Yeshua, perceiving it, said to them, "Why do you reason that it's because you have no bread? Don't you perceive yet, neither understand? Is your heart still hardened?

18 Having eyes, don't you see? Having ears, don't you hear? Don't you remember?

19 When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Twelve."

20 "When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Seven."

21 He asked them, "Don't you understand, yet?"

22 He came to Beit-Tzaidah. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him.

23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.

24 He looked up, and said, "I see men; for I see them like trees walking."

25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.

26 He sent him away to his house, saying, "Don't enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village."

27 Yeshua went forth, with his talmidim, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his talmidim, "Who do men say that I am?"

28 They told him, "Yochanan the immerser, and others: Eliyah, but others: one of the prophets."

29 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Kefa answered, "You are the Messiah."

30 He charged them that they should tell no one about him.

31 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the Zakenim, the chief Kohanim, and the Sofrim, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

32 He spoke to them openly. Kefa took him, and began to rebuke him.

33 But he, turning around, and seeing his talmidim, rebuked Kefa, and said, "Get behind me, Hasatan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men."

34 He called the multitude to himself with his talmidim, and said to them, "Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the Good News's will save it.

36 For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?

37 For what should a man give in exchange for his life?

38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
