PSALMS: 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God.
The expanse shows his handiwork.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech,
And night after night they display knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language,
Where their voice is not heard.
4 Their voice has gone out through all the eretz,
Their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
Like a strong man rejoicing to run his course.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens,
His circuit to the ends of it;
There is nothing hid from the heat of it.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul.
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart.
The mitzvah of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is your servant warned.
In keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who can discern his errors?
Forgive me from hidden errors.
13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins.
Let them not have dominion over me.
Then I will be upright,
I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in your sight, LORD, my rock, and my redeemer.
PSALMS: 49
1 Hear this, all you peoples.
Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,
2 Both low and high,
Rich and poor together.
3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom.
My heart shall utter understanding.
4 I will incline my ear to a proverb.
I will open my riddle on the harp.
5 Why should I fear in the days of evil,
When iniquity at my heels surrounds me?
6 Those who trust in their wealth,
And boast in the multitude of their riches --
7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother,
Nor give God a ransom for him.
8 For the redemption of their life is costly,
No payment is ever enough,
9 That he should live on forever,
That he should not see corruption.
10 For he sees that wise men die;
Likewise the fool and the senseless perish,
And leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses will endure forever,
And their dwelling places to all generations.
They name their lands after themselves.
12 But man, despite his riches, doesn't endure.
He is like the animals that perish.
13 This is the destiny of those who are foolish,
And of those who approve their sayings. Selah.
14 They are appointed as a flock for She'ol.
Death shall be their shepherd.
The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning.
Their beauty shall decay in She'ol,
Far from their mansion.
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of She'ol,
For he will receive me.
Selah.
16 Don't be afraid when a man is made rich,
When the glory of his house is increased.
17 For when he dies he shall carry nothing away.
His glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul --
And men praise you when you do well for yourself --
19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers.
They shall never see the light.
20 A man who has riches without understanding,
Is like the animals that perish.
PSALMS: 79
1 God, the nations have come into your inheritance.
They have defiled your holy temple.
They have laid Yerushalayim in heaps.
2 They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky, The flesh of your holy ones to the animals of the eretz.
3 Their blood they have shed like water around Yerushalayim.
There was no one to bury them.
4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors,
A scoffing and derision to those who are around us.
5 How long, LORD? Will you be angry forever?
Will your jealousy burn like fire?
6 Pour out your wrath on the nations that don't know you;
On the kingdoms that don't call on your names;
7 For they have devoured Ya`akov,
And destroyed his homeland.
8 Don't hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us.
Let your tender mercies speedily meet us,
For we are in desperate need.
9 Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name.
Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name's sake.
10 Why should the nations say,
"Where is their God?"
Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes,
That vengeance for your servants' blood is being poured out.
11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you.
According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death;
12 Pay back to our neighbors seven times into their bosom
Their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.
13 So we, your people and sheep of your pasture,
Will give you thanks forever.
We will praise you forever, to all generations.
PSALMS: 109
1 God of my praise, don't remain silent,
2 For they have opened the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit against me. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.
3 They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,
And fought against me without a cause.
4 In return for my love, they are my adversaries;
But I am in prayer.
5 They have rewarded me evil for good,
And hatred for my love.
6 Set a wicked man over him.
Let an adversary stand at his right hand.
7 When he is judged, let him come forth guilty.
Let his prayer be turned into sin.
8 Let his days be few. Let another take his office.
9 Let his children be fatherless,
And his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be wandering beggars.
Let them be sought from their ruins.
11 Let the creditor seize all that he has.
Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.
12 Let there be none to extend kindness to him,
Neither let there be any to have pity on his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off.
In the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by the LORD.
Don't let the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before the LORD continually,
That he may cut off the memory of them from the eretz;
16 Because he didn't remember to show kindness,
But persecuted the poor and needy man,
The broken in heart, to kill them.
17 Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him.
He didn't delight in blessing, and it was far from him.
18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment.
It came into his inward parts like water,
Like oil into his bones.
19 Let it be to him as the clothing with which he covers himself,
For the belt that is always around him.
20 This is the reward of my adversaries from the LORD,
Of those who speak evil against my soul.
21 But deal with me, the LORD the Lord, for your name's sake,
Because your loving kindness is good, deliver me;
22 For I am poor and needy.
My heart is wounded within me.
23 I fade away like an evening shadow.
I am shaken off as the arbeh.
24 My knees are weak through fasting.
My body is thin and lacks fat.
25 I have also become a reproach to them.
When they see me, they shake their head.
26 Help me, LORD, my God.
Save me according to your loving kindness;
27 That they may know that this is your hand;
That you, LORD, have done it.
28 They may curse, but you bless.
When they arise, they will be put to shame,
But your servant shall rejoice.
29 Let my adversaries be clothed with dishonor.
Let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe.
30 I will give great thanks to the LORD with my mouth.
Yes, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 For he will stand at the right hand of the needy,
To save him from those who judge his soul.
PSALMS: 139
1 LORD, you have searched me,
And you know me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up.
You perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue,
But, behold, LORD, you know it altogether.
5 You tzitzit me in behind and before.
You laid your hand on me.
6 This knowledge is beyond me.
It is lofty. I can't attain it.
7 Where could I go from your Spirit?
Or where could I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, you are there.
If I make my bed in She'ol, behold, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the dawn,
And settle in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there your hand will lead me,
And your right hand will hold me.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will overwhelm me;
The light around me will be night;"
12 Even the darkness doesn't hide from you,
But the night shines as the day.
The darkness is like light to you.
13 For you formed my inmost being.
You knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I will give thanks to you,
For I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful.
My soul knows that very well.
15 My frame wasn't hidden from you,
When I was made in secret,
Woven together in the depths of the eretz.
16 Your eyes saw my body.
In your book they were all written,
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand.
When I wake up, I am still with you.
19 If only you, God, would kill the wicked.
Get away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
20 For they speak against you wickedly.
Your enemies take your name in vain.
21 LORD, don't I hate those who hate you?
Am I not grieved with those who rise up against you?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred.
They have become my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart.
Try me, and know my thoughts.
24 See if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
PROVERBS: 19
1 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity
Than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
2 It isn't good to have zeal without knowledge;
Nor being hasty with one's feet and missing the way.
3 The foolishness of man subverts his way;
His heart rages against the LORD.
4 Wealth adds many friends,
But the poor is separated from his friend.
5 A false witness shall not be unpunished.
He who pours out lies shall not go free.
6 Many will entreat the favor of a ruler,
And everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.
7 All the relatives of the poor shun him:
How much more do his friends avoid him!
He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.
8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul.
He who keeps understanding shall find good.
9 A false witness shall not be unpunished.
He who utters lies shall perish.
10 Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool,
Much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger.
It is his glory to overlook an offense.
12 The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion,
But his favor is like dew on the grass.
13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father.
A wife's quarrels are a continual dripping.
14 House and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the LORD.
15 Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep.
The idle soul shall suffer hunger.
16 He who keeps the mitzvah keeps his soul,
But he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.
17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD;
He will reward him.
18 Discipline your son, for there is hope;
Don't be a willing party to his death.
19 A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty,
For if you rescue him, you must do it again.
20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, ‘
That you may be wise in your latter end.
21 There are many plans in a man's heart,
But the LORD's counsel will prevail.
22 That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness.
A poor man is better than a liar.
23 The fear of the LORD leads to life, then contentment;
He rests and will not be touched by trouble.
24 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish;
He will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25 Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence;
Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
26 He who robs his father and drives away his mother,
Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
27 Stop, my son, listening to instruction,
And you will stray from the words of knowledge.
28 A corrupt witness mocks justice,
And the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.
29 Penalties are prepared for scoffers,
And beatings for the backs of fools.
OLD TESTAMENT: DEUTERONOMY 34:1–JOSHUA 2:24
34:1 Moshe went up from the plains of Mo'av to Mount Nevo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Yericho. The LORD shown him all the land of Gil`ad, to Dan,
2 and all Naftali, and the land of Efrayim and Menashsheh, and all the land of Yehudah, to the hinder sea,
3 and the South, and the Plain of the valley of Yericho the city of palm trees, to Tzo`ar.
4 The LORD said to him, This is the land which I swore to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov, saying, I will give it to your seed: I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.
5 So Moshe the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Mo'av, according to the word of the LORD.
6 He buried him in the valley in the land of Mo'av over against Beit-Pe`or: but no man knows of his tomb to this day.
7 Moshe was one hundred twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
8 The children of Yisra'el wept for Moshe in the plains of Mo'av thirty days: so the days of weeping in the mourning for Moshe were ended.
9 Yehoshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moshe had laid his hands on him: and the children of Yisra'el listened to him, and did as the LORD commanded Moshe.
10 There has not arisen a prophet since in Yisra'el like Moshe, whom the LORD knew face to face,
11 in all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Mitzrayim, to Par`oh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
12 and in all the mighty hand, and in all the great terror, which Moshe worked in the sight of all Yisra'el.
1:1 Now it happened after the death of Moshe the servant of the LORD, that the LORD spoke to Yehoshua the son of Nun, Moshe' minister, saying, 2Moshe my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Yarden, you, and all this people, to the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Yisra'el. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread on, to you have I given it, as I spoke to Moshe. 4 From the wilderness, and this Levanon, even to the great river, the river Perat, all the land of the Hitti, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border. 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moshe, so I will be with you; I will not fail you, nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7 Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moshe my servant commanded you: don't turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate thereon day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. 9 Haven't I commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; don't be afraid, neither be dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. 10 Then Yehoshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11 Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days you are to pass over this Yarden, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God gives you to possess it. 12 To the Re'uveni, and to the Gadi, and to the half-tribe of Menashsheh, spoke Yehoshua, saying, 13 Remember the word which Moshe the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, the LORD your God gives you rest, and will give you this land. 14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall abide in the land which Moshe gave you beyond the Yarden; but you shall pass over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them; 15 until the LORD have given your brothers rest, as [he has given] you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God gives them: then you shall return to the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moshe the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Yarden toward the sunrise. 16 They answered Yehoshua, saying, All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 According as we listened to Moshe in all things, so will we listen to you: only the LORD your God be with you, as he was with Moshe. 18 Whoever he be who shall rebel against your mitzvah, and shall not listen to your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of good courage.
JOSHUA 2:1 Yehoshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men as spies secretly, saying, Go, view the land, and Yericho. They went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rachav, and lay there. 2 It was told the king of Yericho, saying, Behold, there came men in here tonight of the children of Yisra'el to search out the land. 3 The king of Yericho sent to Rachav, saying, Bring forth the men who are come to you, who have entered into your house; for they have come to search out all the land. 4 The woman took the two men, and hid them; and she said, Yes, the men came to me, but I didn't know whence they were: 5 and it happened about the time of the shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out; where the men went I don't know: pursue after them quickly; for you will overtake them. 6 But she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof. 7 The men pursued after them the way to the Yarden to the fords: and as soon as those who pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. 8 Before they were laid down, she came up to them on the roof; 9 and she said to the men, I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that the fear of you is fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. 10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Sea of Suf before you, when you came out of Mitzrayim; and what you did to the two kings of the Amori, who were beyond the Yarden, to Sichon and to `Og, whom you utterly destroyed. 11 As soon as we had heard it, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more spirit in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and on eretz beneath. 12 Now therefore, please swear to me by the LORD, since I have dealt kindly with you, that you also will deal kindly with my father's house, and give me a true token; 13 and that you will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will deliver our lives from death. 14 The men said to her, Our life for yours, if you don't utter this our business; and it shall be, when the LORD gives us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you. 15 Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was on the side of the wall, and she lived on the wall. 16 She said to them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers light on you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may you go your way. 17 The men said to her, We will be guiltless of this your oath which you have made us to swear. 18 Behold, when we come into the land, you shall bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you did let us down by: and you shall gather to you into the house your father, and your mother, and your brothers, and all your father's household. 19 It shall be, that whoever shall go out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his head, and we shall be guiltless: and whoever shall be with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be on him. 20 But if you utter this our business, then we shall be guiltless of your oath which you have made us to swear. 21 She said, According to your words, so be it. She sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window. 22 They went, and came to the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but didn't find them. 23 Then the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Yehoshua the son of Nun; and they told him all that had befallen them. 24 They said to Yehoshua, Truly the LORD has delivered into our hands all the land; and moreover all the inhabitants of the land do melt away before us.
NEW TESTAMENT: LUKE 13:22 – 14:6
13:22 He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Yerushalayim.
23 One said to him, "Lord, are they few who are saved?" He said to them,
24 "Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.
25 When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' then he will answer and tell you, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'
26 Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drink in your presence, and you taught in our streets.'
27 He will say, 'I tell you, I don't know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.'
28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Avraham, Yitzchak, Ya`akov, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside.
29 They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last."
31 On that same day, some Perushim came, saying to him, "Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you."
32 He said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can't be that a prophet perish out of Yerushalayim.'
34 "Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me, until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'"
14:1 It happened, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Perushim on a Shabbat to eat bread, that they were watching him.
2 Behold, a certain man who had dropsy was in front of him.
3Yeshua, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Perushim, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Shabbat?"
4 But they were silent. He took him, and healed him, and let him go.
5 He answered them, "Which of you, if your son or an ox fell into a well, wouldn't immediately pull him out on a Shabbat day?"
6 They couldn't answer him regarding these things.

1 השמים מספרים כבוד אלוהים,
הרקיע מגלה מעשה ידיו.
2 יום יום ישפכו דבר,
ולילה לילה יגלוּ דעת.
3 אין דיבור ולשון,
שלא נשמע קולם.
4 קולם יצא בכל הארץ,
דבריהם עד קצה תבל.
הוא שם בהם אוהל לשמש,
5 אשר כחתן יוצא מחדרו,
כגבר שמח לרוץ מסעתו.
6 מקצה השמים צאתו,
עד קצותיו;
אין נסתר מחמה.
7 תורת ה' תמימה, משקמת נפש.
עדות ה' נאמנה, משכילה תמימה.
8 פקודות ה' ישרות, משמחות לב.
מצות ה' טהורה, מאירה עיניים.
9 יראת ה' טהורה, עומדת לעולם.
משפטי ה' אמת וצדקים כולם.
10 נחשקים הם מזהב, ומזהב טוב הרבה;
מתוק מדבש ומחלץ חלת דבש.
11 וגם בהם מוזהר עבדך.
בשמירתם שכר גדול.
12 מי יוכל להבין טעויותיו?
סלח לי מטעויות נסתרות. 13 שמר גם את עבדך מחטאים חצופים. אל תימלו בי. אז אהיה ישר,
אהיה תמים ותמים מפשעים גדולים.
14 יהיו דברי פי והגיוני ליבי
רצים בעיניך, יהוה צורי וגואליי.
תהילים: מט
1 שמעו זאת כל העמים. הקשיבו כל יושבי תבל,
2 גם שפלים וגם גבוהים,
עשירים ועניים יחד.
3 פי ידבר דברי חכמה. ליבי יגיד תבונה.
4 אטה אזני למשל. אפתח חידתי בכינור.
5 למה אירא בימי רעה,
כשעונא בעקבי יקיף אותי?
6 הבוטחים בעושרם,
ומתפארים ברוב עושרם --
7 איש מהם לא יוכל לגאול את אחיו,
ולא לתת כפרה לאלוהים.
8 כי גאולת נפשם יקרה,
שום תשלום אינו מספיק לעולם,
9 לחיות לנצח,
ולא יראה שחיתות.
10 כי רואה שחכמים מתים;
כן גם טיפש וחסר בינה אובדים,
ומנישים את עושרם לאחרים.
11 מחשבתם הפנימית היא שבתם יעמדו לנצח,
ומשכנם לדורות.
יקראו אדמותיהם על שמם.
12 ואדם, למרות עושרו, לא יחזיק מעמד.
הוא כמו חיות האובדות.
13 זהו גורלם של הכסילים,
ושל אלה המרוצים בדבריהם. סלה.
14 כעדר שאול נקבעו.
המות יהיה רועהם. ישרים ימשולו בהם בבוקר. יופיים יתפורר בשאול,
הרחק מביתם.
15 כי אלוהים יגאל את נפשי מיד שאול,
כי הוא יקבל אותי. סלה.
16 אל תירא כי יעשיר איש,
כי ירבה כבוד ביתו.
17 כי במותו לא יישא דבר. לא ירד כבודו אחריו.
18 אם כי בחייו ברך את נפשו --
ואנשים ישבחו אותך כי תיטיב --
19 אל דור אבותיו ילך. לעולם לא יראו אור.
20 איש עשיר בלי תבונה,
כמו חיות אשר אבדו.
תהילים: 79
1 אלוהים, גויים באו אל נחלתך. הם טמאו את היכל קדשך. הם הניחו את ירושלים ערימות.
2 הם נתנו גופות עבדיך למאכל לעוף השמים, ובשר קדשיך לחיות הארץ.
3 הם שפכו את דמם כמים סביב ירושלים. אין מי שיקבר אותם.
4 היינו לחרפה לשכנינו,
ללעג ולקללה לסובבים אותנו.
5 עד מתי ה', תכעס לנצח? האם תקדח קינאתך כאש?
6 שפוך חמתך על הגויים אשר לא ידעו אותך, על הממלכות אשר לא קראו בשמיך.
7 כי טרפו את יעקב,
והחריבו את מולדתו. 8 אל תחשב עלינו את עוונות אבותינו. יהיינו במהרה רחמיך,
כי צרה אנו נואשת.
9 עזרנו, אלוהי ישועתנו, למען כבוד שמך. הצילנו וסלח לחטאינו, למען שמך.
10 למה יאמרו גויים,
"איה אלוהיהם?" הודיע בגויים, לעינינו,
כי נקמת דם עבדיך נשפכת.
11 תבוא אנחת אסירים לפניך. כגודל כוחך, שמור את הנידונים למוות;
12 שלם לשכנינו שבע פעמים בחיקם
את חרפתם אשר חרפו אותך, ה'.
13 אז אנחנו, עמך וצאן מרעייך,
נודה לך לנצח. נהלל אותך לנצח, לדורות.

1 אלוהי תהילי, אל תשתוק,
2 כי פתחו עליי פי רשעים ופי מרמה. דברו אלי בלשון שקר.
3 גם הקיפו אותי בדברי שנאה,
ונלחמו בי ללא סיבה.
4 בתמורה לאהבי, הם צרי,
ואני בתפילה.
5 גמלו לי רעה תחת טובה,
ושנאה תחת אהבתי.
6 הניחו עליו רשע.
יעמוד צר לימינו.
7 כשיישפט, יצא אשם.
תהפוך תפילתו לחטא.

לבי פצוע בקרבי.

גופי רזה וחסר שומן.

5 אחורה ולפניה תצציני. סמכת ידך עליי.

אויביך ישאו שמך לשווא.
21 ה', הלוא אשנא את שונאיך?
הלוא אני עצב על הקמים עליך?
22 שנאה שלמה אשנא אותם,
הם הפכו לאויבי.
23 חקרני, אלוהים, ודע את לבי.
נסהני ודע את מחשבותיי. 24 ראה אם יש בי דרך רעה,

1 טוב עני הולך בתמימותו
ממשופל שפתיו וסכל.
2 לא טוב קנאה ללא דעת;
ולא נמהר רגליו ותפסיד את הדרך.
3 סכלות אדם תסובב את דרכו;
על ה' זעף לבו.
4 עושר מוסיף חברים רבים,
ועני יבדל מחברו.
5 עד שקר לא יינקה.
שופך שקר לא יצא חופשי.
6 רבים יתחננו לשליט,
וכל חבר לאיש נותן מתנות.
7 כל קרובי עני ירדו ממנו:
כמה עוד חבריו נמנעו ממנו! רודף אחריהם תחנונים, אך הם נעלמים.

כששמע לעצה וקבל מוסר, למען תהיה חכם באחריתך.

ג יראת ה' לחיים, ואז שביעות רצון, ינוח ולא יגע בו צרה. 24 טמן עצלן ידו בצלחת;
לא ישובה אפילו אל פיו.

גער בְּבִין, וְיָדַע.
26 גֹדֵל אֲבִיו וְגָרֵשׁ אֲמוֹ,
בן בֹשֶׁה וְחֶרְפָּה הוּא.
27 הַדַּע בְּנִי מִשְׁמַע לַמּוֹד,
וְתַסְטַע מִדְבְרֵי דַּעְתָּ.
28 עֵד מְשְׁחַת לֹג מִשְׁפָּט,
וְפִי רָשָׁע יְבֹלֵעַ עָוֶן.
29 עֲוָנִים נִכְנוּ לְלֵץ,

לד:א ויעל משה מערבות מואב אל הר נבו אל ראש פסגה אשר מול יריחו. ויראהו ה' את כל ארץ גלעד עד דן,
ב ואת כל נפתלי ואת ארץ אפרים ומנשה ואת כל ארץ יהודה עד הים האחורי,
ג ואת הנגב ואת עמק בקעת יריחו עיר התמרים עד צער.
ד ויאמר ה' אליו, זאת הארץ אשר נשבעתי לאברהם ליצחק וליעקב לאמר, אתנה לזרעך. הראתה בעיניך, ולא תעבור שמה.
ה וימת שם משה עבד ה' בארץ מואב כדבר ה'. ו ויקברו בבקעה בארץ מואב, מול בית פעור, ואין איש יודע את קברו עד היום הזה.
ז משה בן מאה ועשרים שנה במותו, לא כתה עינו ולא שככה כוחו.
ח ויבכו בני ישראל את משה בערבות מואב שלושים יום, ויכלו ימי הבכי על משה.
ט יהושע בן נון מלא רוח חכמה, כי סמך משה את ידיו עליו, ושמעו בני ישראל אליו, ויעשו כאשר צוה ה' את משה. י לא קם נביא מאז בישראל כמשה אשר ידע ה' פנים אל פנים.
יא בכל האתות והמופתים אשר שלחו ה' לעשות בארץ מצרים לפרעה ולכל עבדיו ולכל ארצו.
יב ובכל היד החזקה ובכל האימה הגדולה אשר עשה משה לעיני כל ישראל.
א:א ויהי אחרי מות משה עבד ה' וידבר ה' אל יהושע בן נון משרת משה לאמר: ב מת משה עבדי ועתה קום עבר את הירדן הזה אתה וכל העם הזה אל הארץ אשר אנכי נתן להם לבני ישראל. ג כל מקום אשר ידרוך כף רגלכם לכם נתתיו כאשר דברתי אל משה. 4 מן המדבר ומלבנון הזה ועד הנהר הגדול נהר פרת כל ארץ החיתי ועד הים הגדול שקיע השמש יהיה גבולך. 5 לא יוכל איש לעמוד לפניך כל ימי חייך כאשר הייתי עם משה כן אהיה עמך לא אעזובך ולא אעזובך. 6 היה חזק ואמץ כי אתה תנחיל את העם הזה את הארץ אשר נשבעתי לאבותיהם לתת להם. 7 רק היה חזק ואמץ מאוד לשמור לעשות ככל התורה אשר צווך משה עבדי אל תסור ממנה ימין ושמאל למען תצליח בכל אשר תלך. 8 לא ימוש ספר התורה הזה מפיך והגיית בו יומם ולילה למען תשמור לעשות ככל הכתוב בו כי אז תצליח דרכך ואז תצליח. ט הלוא ציוויתי אתכם? חזק ואמץ; אל תירא ואל תירא כי ה' אלהיך עמך בכל אשר תלך. י ויצו יהושע את שוטרי העם לאמר: יא עברו בתוך המחנה וצוו את העם לאמר: הכינו לכם מזון כי בעוד שלשת ימים אתם עוברים את הירדן הזה לבוא לרשת את הארץ אשר ה' אלהיך נותן לכם לרשתה. יב אל הראובני ואל הגדי ואל חצי שבט המנשה אמר יהושע לאמר: יג זכרו את הדבר אשר צוה אתכם משה עבד ה' לאמר: ה' אלהיך ינוח לכם ונתן לכם את הארץ הזאת. יד נשכם וטפכם ובהמתכם ישבו בארץ אשר נתן לכם משה בעבר הירדן. וְאַתָּה תַּעֲבֹר חֲמוּשִׁים לִפְנֵי אֶחִיךָ, כָּל גִּבְרֵי הַגִּבְרוֹת, וְעָזְרוּ לָהֶם. טו עד-יָנִיחַ יְהוָה לְאֶחִיךָ כַּאֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָכֶם, וְגַם-הֵם יָרֵשׁ אֶת-אֶרֶץ אֲחֲזֶךָ וְיָרֵשָׁהּ, אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָכֶם מֹשֶׁה עַבְד ה' לְעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֶּן הַשֶׁחַר. טז וַיַּעֲנוּ אֶת-יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לֵאמֹר: כָּל-אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתָנוּ נַעֲשֶׂה, וְאֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁלַחֵנוּ נֵלֶךְ. ז כְּכַשֶּׁשְׁמַעְנוּ אֶל-מֹשֶׁה בְּכָל-הַדָּבָר, כֵּן נִשְׁמַע אֵלֶיךָ: רַק יְהִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ עִמָּךָ כַּאֲשֶׁר הָיָה עִם-מֹשֶׁה. יח כָּל-הַמַּמָּד בְּמִצְוֶתְךָ, וְלֹא-יַשְׁמַע בְּדִבְרֶיךָ בְּכָל-אֲשֶׁר תְּצוֹוָהוּ, מוּת יוּמָת; רַק הֲוָה חָזָק וְאֲמֵץ.
יהושע ב', א' וַיְשַׁלַח יְהוֹשַׁעַ בֶּן-נוּן מִשִּׁתִּים שְׁנֵי אִישִׁים מַרְגְלִים בְּסֵתַר לֵאמֹר לֹכוּ רְאוּ אֶת-הָאָרֶץ וְאֶת-יְרִיכוֹ. הֵלְכוּ וַיָּבֹאוּ בֵּית זוֹנָה שְׁמוֹ רַכָּב וַיַּשְׁכוּ שָׁם. ב' וַיַּגִּיד לְמֶלֶךְ יְרִיכוֹ לֵאמֹר הִנֵּה אֲנָשִׁים בָּאוּ הַהֲלָכָה מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לִתְחֹר אֶת-הָאָרֶץ. ג' וַיְשַׁלַּח מֶלֶךְ יְרִיכוֹ אֶל-רַכָּב לֵאמֹר הוֹצִיא אֶת-הָאֲנָשִׁים הַבָּאוּ אֵלֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר בָּאוּ בֵּיתֶךָ כִּי לִתְחֹר אֶת-כָּל-הָאָרֶץ. ד' וַתִּקַּח אֵשׁ אֶת-שְׁנֵי הָאֲנָשִׁים וַתֹּאמֶר כֵּן בָּאוּ אֵלַי וְלֹא-יָדַעְתִּי מֵאַיֵן הֵם. ה' וַיְהִי עַת סְגִירַת הַשַּׁעַר כְּחֻשְׁכִּים וַיֵּצְאוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים לְאֵן-הָלָכוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים לֹא-יָדַעְתִּי מַהֲרֹתָם. ו ותעלה אותם אל הגג ותחבאם בגבעולי הפשתן אשר סידרה על הגג. ז והאנשים רדפו אחריהם דרך הירדן אל המעברים, וכשיצאו הרודפים אחריהם, יסגרו את השער. ח בטרם ישכבו, עלתה אליהם אל הגג. ט ותאמר אל האנשים ידעתי כי נתן יהוה לכם את הארץ, וכי נפל עלינו פחדכם, וכי כל יושבי הארץ נמסים מפניכם. י כי שמענו כי ייבש יהוה את מי ים סוף מפניכם בצאתכם ממצרים, ואשר עשיתם לשני מלכי האמורי אשר בעבר הירדן לסיכון ולעוג אשר החרמתם. יא כאשר שמענו, נמס לבנו, ולא נשאר עוד רוח באיש מפניכם: כי יהוה אלהיכם הוא אלהים בשמים ממעל ובארץ למטה. 12 ועתה, השבעתי נא לי ביהוה, יען אשר עשיתי עמכם חסד, כי גם אתם תעשו חסד עם בית אבי, ותתנו לי אות אמת; 13 וכי תחייתם את אבי ואת אמי ואת אחי ואת אחיותי ואת כל אשר להם, ואת נפשותינו תציל ממות. 14 ויאמרו לה האנשים, נפשנו תחתכם, אם לא תגידו את דברנו הזה; והיה, כאשר יתן לנו יהוה את הארץ, נעשה עמכם חסד ואמת. 15 ותוריד אותם בחבל דרך החלון, כי ביתה היה על צד החומה, והיא ישבה על החומה. טז ותאמר להם, לכו ההרה, פן יבואו עליכם הרודפים, והסתתרו שם שלשת ימים, עד שובם הרודפים, ואחר כך תלכו לדרככם. יז ויאמרו לה האנשים, נקיים אנחנו משבועתך זו אשר השבעת אותנו. 18 הנה, כי נבוא הארץ, תקשור את חוט השני הזה בחלון אשר הורדת אותנו דרכו; וקבצת אליך אל הבית את אביך ואת אמך ואת אחיך ואת כל בית אביך. 19 והיה, כל אשר יצא מדלתות ביתך הרחוב, דמו יהיה בראשו, ואנחנו נקיים; וכל אשר יהיה עמך בבית, דמו יהיה בראשנו, אם יד תהיה בו. 20 ואם תגידו את דברינו זו, ונקיים אנחנו משבועתך אשר השבעת אותנו. 21 ותאמר, כדבריך כן יהיה. ותשלח אותם, וילכו, ותקשר את חוט הארגמן בחלון. 22 וילכו, ויבאו ההרה, וישבו שם שלשת ימים, עד שובם הרודפים, ובקשו אותם הרודפים בכל הדרך, ולא מצאו. 23 וישובו שני האנשים, וירדו מן ההרה, ועברו, ויבאו אל יהושע בן נון, ויספרו לו את כל אשר קרה אותם. 24 ויאמרו אל יהושע, אמנם נתן יהוה בידנו את כל הארץ, וגם כל יושבי הארץ נמסים מפנינו.
הברית החדשה: לוקס י"ג:22 – י"ד:6
י"ג:22 הוא הלך בדרכו דרך ערים וכפרים, לימד והמשיך בדרכו לירושלים.
23 אחד אמר לו: "אדוני, מעטים הם אלה שנושעים?" אמר להם:
24 השתדלו להיכנס דרך הפתח הצר, כי רבים, אני אומר לכם, יבקשו להיכנס ולא יוכלו.
25 כאשר יקום בעל הבית ויסגור את הדלת, ותתחילו לעמוד בחוץ ולדפוק על הדלת לאמר: 'אדוני, אדוני, פתח לנו!' אז הוא יענה ויאמר לכם: 'איני מכיר אתכם או מאין אתם באים.'
26 אז תתחילו לומר: 'אכלנו ושתינו בפניך, ואתה לימדת ברחובותינו'. 27 הוא יאמר: 'אני אומר לכם, איני יודע מאיפה אתם באים. לכו ממני, כל פועלי הרשע.'
28 שם תהיה בכי וחריקת שיניים, כשתראו את אברהם, יצחק ויעקב וכל הנביאים במלכות האלוהים, ואת עצמכם מושלכים החוצה.
29 הם יבואו ממזרח, מערב, צפון ודרום, וישבו במלכות האלוהים.
30 הנה, יש אחרונים שיהיו ראשונים, ויש ראשונים שיהיו אחרונים.
31 באותו יום באו אליו כמה פְּרוּשים ואמרו לו: "צא מכאן ולך, כי הורדוס רוצה להרוג אותך."
32 אמר להם: "לכו ואמרו לשועל ההוא: 'הנה, אני מגרש שדים ומרפא היום ומחר, וביום השלישי אשלים את שליחותי.
33 אך עליי ללכת היום ומחר ומחרתיים, כי לא ייתכן שנביא ימות מחוץ לירושלים.'
34 "ירושלים, ירושלים, ההורגת את הנביאים וסוקלת את הנשלחים אליה! כמה פעמים רציתי לאסוף את בניך, כשם שתרנגולת אוספת את גושיה תחת כנפיה, ואתם סירבתם!
35 הנה, ביתכם ננטש לכם שומם. אני אומר לכם, לא תראו אותי עד שתאמרו 'ברוך הבא בשם ה'!'"
14:1 ויהי כאשר בא לבית אחד מראשי הפרושים בשבת לאכול לחם, והם שמרו עליו.
2 הנה איש חולה בטיפות עמד לפניו.
3 ויען ישוע ויאמר אל בעלי התורה והפרושים לאמר: "האם מותר לרפא בשבת?"
4 אך הם שתקו. הוא אחזו, ריפאו ושחררו.
5 ויען אותם: "מי מכם, אם בנו או שור ייפול לבאר, לא ימשוך אותו מיד ביום שבת?"
6 לא יכלו לענות לו על הדברים האלה.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
