1 Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
2 My soul, you have said to the LORD,
"You are my Lord.
Apart from you I have no good thing."
3 As for the holy ones who are in the eretz,
They are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god.
Their drink-offerings of blood I will not offer,
Nor take their names on my lips.
5 The LORD assigned my portion and my cup.
You made my lot secure.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places.
Yes, I have a good inheritance.
7 I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel.
Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the LORD always before me.
Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices.
My body shall also dwell in safety.
10 For you will not leave my soul in She'ol,
Neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.
11 You will show me the path of life.
In your presence is fullness of joy.
In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
PSALMS: 46
1 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will we not be afraid, though the eretz changes,
Though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;
3 Though the waters of it roar and are troubled,
Though the mountains tremble with the swelling of it. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad,
The holy place of the tents of Ha`Elyon.
5 God is in the midst of her.
She shall not be moved.
God will help her at dawn.
6 The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved.
He uttered his voice, and the eretz melted.
7 The LORD of Hosts is with us.
The God of Ya`akov is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, see the works of the LORD,
What desolations he has made in the eretz.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the eretz.
He breaks the bow, and cuts the spear apart.
He burns the chariots in the fire.
10 "Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations.
I will be exalted in the eretz."
11 The LORD of Hosts is with us.

PSALMS: 76
1 In Yehudah, God is known.
His name is great in Yisra'el.
2 His tent is also in Shalem;
His dwelling-place in Tziyon.
3 There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow,
The shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war.
Selah.
4 Glorious are you, and excellent,
More than mountains of game.
5 Valiant men lie plundered,
They have slept their last sleep.
None of the men of war can lift their hands.
6 At your rebuke, God of Ya`akov,
Both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
7 You, even you, are to be feared.
Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?
8 You pronounced judgment from heaven.
The eretz feared, and was silent,
9 When God arose to judgment,
To save all the afflicted ones of the eretz. Selah.
10 Surely the wrath of man praises you.
The survivors of your wrath are restrained.
11 Make vows to the LORD your God, and fulfill them!
Let all of his neighbors bring presents to him who is to be feared.
12 He will cut off the spirit of princes.
He is feared by the kings of the eretz.
PSALMS: 106
1 Praise the LORD!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
For his loving kindness endures forever.
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD,
Or fully declare all his praise?
3 Blessed are those who keep justice,
He who does righteousness at all times.
4 Remember me, LORD, with the favor that you show to your people.
Visit me with your yeshu`ah,
5 That I may see the prosperity of your chosen,
That I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,
That I may glory with your inheritance.
6 We have sinned with our fathers.
We have committed iniquity.
We have done wickedly.
7 Our fathers didn't understand your wonders in Mitzrayim.
They didn't remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses,
But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Sea of Suf.
8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake,
That he might make his mighty power known.
9 He rebuked the Sea of Suf also, and it was dried up;
So he led them through the depths, as through a desert.
10 He saved them from the hand of him who hated them,
And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11 The waters covered their adversaries.
There was not one of them left.
12 Then they believed his words.
They sang his praise.
13 They soon forgot his works.
They didn't wait for his counsel,
14 But gave in to craving in the desert,
And tested God in the wasteland.
15 He gave them their request,
But sent leanness into their soul.
16 They envied Moshe also in the camp,
And Aharon, the LORD's holy one.
17 The eretz opened and swallowed up Datan,
And covered the company of Aviram.
18 A fire was kindled in their company.
The flame burned up the wicked.
19 They made a calf in Horev,
And worshiped a molten image.
20 Thus they exchanged their glory
For an image of a bull that eats grass.
21 They forgot God, their Savior,
Who had done great things in Mitzrayim,
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham,
And awesome things by the Sea of Suf.
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them,
Had Moshe, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach,
To turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn't destroy them.
24 Yes, they despised the pleasant land.
They didn't believe his word,
25 But murmured in their tents,
And didn't listen to the voice of the LORD.
26 Therefore he swore to them
That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,
27 That he would overthrow their seed among the nations,
And scatter them in the lands.
28 They joined themselves also to Ba`al-Pe`or,
And ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their deeds.
The plague broke in on them.
30 Then Pinechas stood up, and executed judgment,
So the plague was stopped.
31 That was credited to him for righteousness,
To all generations forevermore.
32 They angered him also at the waters of Merivah,
So that Moshe was troubled for their sakes;
33 Because they were rebellious against his spirit,
He spoke rashly with his lips.
34 They didn't destroy the peoples,
As the LORD commanded them,
35 But mixed themselves with the nations,
Learned their works.
36 They served their idols,
Which became a snare to them.
37 Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
38 They shed innocent blood,
Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters,
Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Kana`an.
The land was polluted with blood.
39 Thus were they defiled with their works,
And prostituted themselves in their deeds.
40 Therefore the wrath of the LORD was kindled against his people.
He abhorred his inheritance.
41 He gave them into the hand of the nations.
Those who hated them ruled over them.
42 Their enemies also oppressed them.
They were brought into subjection under their hand.
43 Many times he delivered them,
But they were rebellious in their counsel,
And were brought low in their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless he regarded their distress,
When he heard their cry.
45 He remembered for them his covenant,
And repented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
46 He made them also to be pitied
By all those who carried them captive.
47 Save us, LORD, our God,
Gather us from among the nations,
To give thanks to your holy name,
To triumph in your praise!
48 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Yisra'el,
From everlasting even to everlasting!
Let all the people say, ‘

PROVERBS: 16
1 The plans of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;
But the LORD weighs the motives.
3 Commit your deeds to the LORD,
And your plans shall succeed.
4 The LORD has made everything for its own end --
Yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD:
They shall assuredly not be unpunished.
6 By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for.
By the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
7 When a man's ways please the LORD,
He makes even his enemies to be at shalom with him.
8 Better is a little with righteousness,
Than great revenues with injustice.
9 A man's heart plans his course,
But the LORD directs his steps.
10 Inspired judgments are on the lips of the king.
He shall not betray his mouth.
11 Honest balances and scales are the LORD's;
All the weights in the bag are his work.
12 It is an abomination for kings to do wrong,
For the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings.
They value one who speaks the truth.
14 The king's wrath is a messenger of death,
But a wise man will pacify it.
15 In the light of the king's face is life.
His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.
16 How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil.
He who keeps his way preserves his soul.
18 Pride goes before destruction,
A haughty spirit before a fall.
19 It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor,
Than to divide the plunder with the proud.
20 He who gives heed to the Word finds prosperity.
Whoever trusts in the LORD is blessed.
21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent.
Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.
22 Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it,
But the punishment of fools is their folly.
23 The heart of the wise instructs his mouth,
And adds learning to his lips.
24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 There is a way which seems right to a man,
But in the end it leads to death.
26 The appetite of the laboring man labors for him;
For his mouth urges him on.
27 A worthless man devises mischief.
His speech is like a scorching fire.
28 A perverse man stirs up strife.
A whisperer separates close friends.
29 A man of violence entices his neighbor,
And leads him in a way that is not good.
30 One who winks his eyes to plot perversities,
One who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.
31 Gray hair is a crown of glory.
It is attained by a life of righteousness.
32 One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
One who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
33 The lot is cast into the lap,
But its every decision is from the LORD.
OLD TESTAMENT: DEUTERONOMY 31:1 - 32:27
31:1 Then Moses went out and spoke these words to all Israel: 2 “I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The LORD has said to me, ‘You shall not cross the Jordan.’ 3 The LORD your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the LORD said. 4 And the LORD will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. 5 The LORD will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” 7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” 9 So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the Levitical priests, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 Then Moses commanded them: “At the end of every seven years, in the year for canceling debts, during the Festival of Tabernacles, 11 when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God at the place he will choose, you shall read this law before them in their hearing. 12 Assemble the people—men, women and children, and the foreigners residing in your towns—so they can listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and follow carefully all the words of this law. 13 Their children, who do not know this law, must hear it and learn to fear the LORD your God as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.” 14 The LORD said to Moses, “Now the day of your death is near. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the tent of meeting, where I will commission him.” So Moses and Joshua came and presented themselves at the tent of meeting. 15 Then the LORD appeared at the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the cloud stood over the entrance to the tent. 16 And the LORD said to Moses: “You are going to rest with your ancestors, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them. 17 And in that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and calamities will come on them, and in that day they will ask, ‘Have not these disasters come on us because our God is not with us?’ 18 And I will certainly hide my face in that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other gods. 19 “Now write down this song and teach it to the Israelites and have them sing it, so that it may be a witness for me against them. 20 When I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, the land I promised on oath to their ancestors, and when they eat their fill and thrive, they will turn to other gods and worship them, rejecting me and breaking my covenant. 21 And when many disasters and calamities come on them, this song will testify against them, because it will not be forgotten by their descendants. I know what they are disposed to do, even before I bring them into the land I promised them on oath.” 22 So Moses wrote down this song that day and taught it to the Israelites. 23 The LORD gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: “Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you.” 24 After Moses finished writing in a book the words of this law from beginning to end, 25 he gave this command to the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD: 26 “Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God. There it will remain as a witness against you. 27 For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you have been rebellious against the LORD while I am still alive and with you, how much more will you rebel after I die! 28 Assemble before me all the elders of your tribes and all your officials, so that I can speak these words in their hearing and call the heavens and the earth to testify against them. 29 For I know that after my death you are sure to become utterly corrupt and to turn from the way I have commanded you. In days to come, disaster will fall on you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD and arouse his anger by what your hands have made.” 30 And Moses recited the words of this song from beginning to end in the hearing of the whole assembly of Israel:
32:1 Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. 2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. 3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! 4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. 5 They are corrupt and not his children; to their shame they are a warped and crooked generation. 6Is this the way you repay the LORD, you foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator,who made you and formed you? 7 Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. 8 When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. 9 For the LORD’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance. 10 In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye, 11 like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft. 12 The LORD alone led him; no foreign god was with him. 13 He made him ride on the heights of the land and fed him with the fruit of the fields. He nourished him with honey from the rock, and with oil from the flinty crag, 14 with curds and milk from herd and flock and with fattened lambs and goats, with choice rams of Bashan and the finest kernels of wheat. You drank the foaming blood of the grape. 15 Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Savior. 16 They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. 17 They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God— gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear. 18 You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. 19 The LORD saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters. 20 “I will hide my face from them,” he said, “and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful. 21 They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding. 22 For a fire will be kindled by my wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains. 23 “I will heap calamities on them and spend my arrows against them. 24 I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust. 25 In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. The young men and young women will perish, the infants and those with gray hair. 26 I said I would scatter them and erase their name from human memory, 27 but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand has triumphed; the LORD has not done all this.’ ”
NEW TESTAMENT: LUKE 12:8 - 34
12:8 “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.
9 But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God.
10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
11 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say,
12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
The Parable of the Rich Fool
13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?”
15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.
17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.
19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ’
20“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
Do Not Worry
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.
23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?
26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!
29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

3 וקדושים אשר בארץ,
הם הגאונים אשר כל חפצי בהם.
4 ירבה צרותיהם, נותני מתנות לאל אחר.
נכסיהם דמם לא אקריב,
ולא אקח את שמותיהם על שפתי.

הודו לה' כי טוב,
כי לעולם חסדו.
2 מי יוכל לספר את גבורות ה',
או להכריז את כל תהילתו?
3 אשרי שומרי משפט,
עושה צדק בכל עת.
4 זכרוני ה' בחסד אשר אתה עושה לעמך. פקדני בישועך,
5 למען אראה בטוב בחיריך,
למען אשמח בשמחת עמך,
למען אתהלל בנחלתך.
6 חטאנו עם אבותינו,
עון עשינו,
רשענו.
7 לא הבינו אבותינו נפלאותיך במצרים,

וימרדו בים, בים סוף.
8 אך הושיע אותם למען שמו,
למען הודיע את כוחו הגדול.
9 וגזר בים סוף, ויבש,
והוביל אותם במהומות כדרך מדבר.
10 הושיע אותם מיד שונאם,
וגאלם מיד אויב.
11 מים כיסו את צריכם. לא נותר מהם אחד.
12 אז האמינו לדבריו.
שיחקו את תהילתו.
13 מהר שכחו מעשיו.
לא חיכו לעצתו,
14 כי במדבר נכנעו לתאוות,
ובמדבר ניסו את אלהים.
15 נתן להם את בקשתם,
ושלח רזה בנפשם.
16 וגם במשה יקנאו במחנה,
ובאהרן קדוש ה'.
17 הארץ נפתחה ובלעה את דתן,
ותכסה את קהל אבירם.
18 אש ניצתה בקהלתם, להבה שרפה רשעים.
19 עשו עגל בחורב,
וישחו לצלם מותך.
20 והחליפו את כבודם
בצלם פר אוכל עשב.
21 שכחו את אלוהים מושיעם,
אשר עשה גדלות במצרים,
22 נפלאות בארץ חם,
ודברים נוראים על ים סוף.
23 לכן אמר כי ישמידם,
אלמלא עמד משה בחירו לפניו בפרץ,
להשיב את אפו ולא ישמידם.
24 כן בוזים את ארץ הנעימה.
לא האמינו לדבריו,
25 וילמלו באוהליהם,
ולא שמעו בקול ה'.
26 לכן נשבע להם
כי יפגעם במדבר,
27 כי יפגע את זרעם בגויים,
ויפזרם בארצות.
28 וגם נדבקו בבעל פעור,
ואכלו זבחי מתים. 29 והכעיסוהו במעשיהם.
ותפרץ בהם מגפה.
30 ויקם פנחס ועשה משפט,
והמגפה נעצרה.
31 זה נחשב לו לצדקה,
לדור ודור עד עולם.
32 והכעיסוהו במי מריבה,
והתעצב משה עליהם;
33 כי מרדו ברוחו,
הוא דיבר בזלזול בשפתיו.
34 לא השמידו עמים,
כאשר ציווה ה' אותם,
35 וערבו עם הגויים,
ולמדו מעשיהם.
36 ועבדו את אליליהם,
והיו להם למלכודת.
37 כן הקריבו את בניהם ואת בנותיהם לשדים. 38 שפכו דם נקי,
ואת דם בניהם ודם בנותיהם,
אשר הקריבו לאלילי כנען.
הארץ נטמאה בדם.
39 ויטמאו במעשיהם,
וזנו במעשיהם.
40 לכן חרה חרון יהוה בעמו.
ושנא נחלתו.
41 ונתם ביד הגויים.
שנאיהם משלו בהם.
42 וגם אויביהם דחקו אותם.
ישעבדו תחת ידם.
43 פעמים רבות הציל אותם,
ומררו בעצתם,
וישפלו בעוונם.
44 אך ראה את צרתם,
בשמעו צעקתם.
45 זכר להם את בריתו,
ונחם כרב חסדו.
46 וגם גרם להם לרחמים
לכל שבותם.
47 הושיענו, יהוה אלוהינו,
אספנו אותנו מקרב הגויים,
להודות לשמך קדשך,

הברית הישנה: דברים לא:1 - לב:27
לא:1 ויצא משה וידבר את הדברים האלה אל כל ישראל לאמר:2 "אני בן מאה ועשרים שנה ולא אוכל עוד להוביל אתכם. אמר יהוה אלי לא תעבור את הירדן. ג ה' אלהיך הוא יעבור לפניך והוא ישמיד את הגויים האלה מפניך ואתה תירש את ארצם. גם יהושע יעבור לפניך כאשר אמר ה'.4 ויעשה ה' להם את אשר עשה לסיחון ולעוג מלכי האמורי אשר השמיד אותם ואת ארצם.5 ויתן ה' אותם בידך ועשית להם את כל אשר צויתיך.6 חזק ואמץ. אל תירא ואל תיבהל מפניהם כי ה' אלהיך הולך עמך ולא יעזובך." ז ויקרא משה ליהושע ויאמר אליו לעיני כל ישראל: "חזק ואמץ כי אתה תלך עם העם הזה אל הארץ אשר נשבע ה' לאבותיהם לתת להם, וחלקת אותה ביניהם לנחלה. ח ה' הוא הולך לפניך והיה עמך; לא יעזובך ולא יטושך. אל תירא ואל תיאש." ט ויכתב משה את התורה הזאת ונתנה לכוהנים הלוויים, אשר נשאו את ארון ברית ה', ולכל זקני ישראל. 10 וַיְצַוָּהֵם מֹשֶׁה לֹאמֹר: "בְקַץ שֶׁבַע שָׁנִים, בְּשַׁנֶת הַשְּׁבָתִים, בְּחַג הַסֻּכָּתִים, 11 בְבֹא כָּל-יִשְׂרָאֵל לְהִרְאֶה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם בָּמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר יַבְחַר וְהַגָּר הַיּוֹרֵשׁ בְּעָרֶיךָ, לְמַעֲשֶׂה אֶת-הָעָם, הָאֲנָשִׁים הַנָּשִׁים הַטּוֹרָה הַזֶּה, לְמַעֲשׂוֹת אֶת-הְוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, וּלְהִקְשַׁמֵּעַת כָּל-דְבָרֵי הַזֶּה. 13 וְנֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר לֹא יָדַעוּ אֶת-הַתּוֹרָה הַזֶּה, יִשְׁמַעְתָּה וְלַמְדוּ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם כָּל-יָם כָּל-יָּם בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עוֹבֵר אֶת-הַיָּרֶד לַרְשׁוֹתָה." 14 וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה: "עַתָּה קָרוֹב יוֹם מָתְךָ. קְרָא לִיהוּשׁוּ וְהִתְצַוֵּבוּ בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד, וָאֹצַו אֹתוֹ שָׁם." וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וַיַּתְצַוֵּבוּ בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. 15 וַיֵּרָא יְהוָה אֶל-הֹהֶל בְּעַמּוּד עָן, וַיַּעֲמֹד עָל-פֶּחַ הָאֹהֶל." טז ויאמר ה' אל משה: "אתה שכב עם אבותיך, והעם הזה יזנה במהרה את אלהי הזרים בארץ אשר הם באים אליה. הם עזבו אותי והפרו את הברית שכרתי איתם. יז וביום ההוא אנחת בהם ועזב אותם, אסתר פני מהם, והם נשמדו. רעות ואסון רבים יבאו עליהם, וביום ההוא ישאלו: 'הלא כי לא אלוהינו עמנו באו הרעות האלה?' 18 והסתרתי פני ביום ההוא, מפני כל רעתם בפניה אל אלהים אחרים. 19 "ועתה כתב את השירה הזאת ולמד אותה לבני ישראל וישירו אותה, למען תהיה לי לעדות נגדם. 20 כאשר אביא אותם אל הארץ זבת חלב ודבש, הארץ אשר נשבעתי לאבותיהם, וכאשר יאכלו שבעו ויפרחו, סבבו אל אלהים אחרים וישתחוו להם, ידחו אותי והפרו את בריתי. 21 וכאשר יבואו עליהם אסונות ואסון רבים, יעיד עליהם השירה הזאת, כי לא תישכח לצאצאיהם. אני יודע את אשר הם חפצים לעשות, עוד לפני שאביא אותם אל הארץ אשר נשבעתי להם. 22 ויכתב משה את השירה הזאת ביום ההוא ולימד אותה לבני ישראל. 23 ויצוה ה' את יהושע בן נון לאמור: "חזק ואמץ, כי אתה תביא את בני ישראל אל הארץ אשר נשבעתי להם, ואני אהיה עמך." 24 אחרי שכל משה לכתוב על ספר את דברי התורה הזאת מראש ועד סוף, 25 הוא ציווה את הלוויים נושאי ארון ברית ה' לאמור: 26 "קחו את ספר התורה הזה והניחו אותו ליד ארון ברית ה' אלוהייכם, שם ישב לעדות בכם. 27 כי אני יודע את מרדכם ואת קשיחות עורפכם. אם מרדתם ביהוה עוד בחיי ועימכם, כמה עוד תמרדו אחרי מותי! 28 אספו לפני את כל זקני שבטיכם ואת כל פקידיכם, ואדבר את הדברים האלה באזניהם, ואקרא את השמים ואת הארץ להעיד בהם. 29 כי ידעתי כי אחרי מותי תשחיתם מאוד, ותסורו מן הדרך אשר צויתי אתכם. בימים הבאים יפגע בכם אסון, כי עשיתם את הרע בעיני ה', ותגרום לכם לחרפן את אפו במה שעשו ידיכם. 30 ויאמר משה את דברי השירה הזאת מראש ועד סופה באזני כל קהל ישראל:

"בחורים ונערות יאבדו, תינוקות ואבות שיער. 26 אמרתי לפזרם ואמחק את שמם מזכרון האדם. 27 ופחדתי מחרפת האויב, פן יבין הצדיק לא נכון ויאמר 'ידנו ניצחה, לא ה' עשה את כל זה'."

י"ב:8 "אני אומר לכם, מי שיודה בי בפומבי לפני אנשים, גם בן האדם יודה בפני מלאכי אלוהים.
9 אבל מי שיכחיש אותי לפני אנשים, יכחה אותי בפני מלאכי אלוהים.
10 וכל מי שידבר דבר נגד בן האדם ייסלח לו, אבל כל מי שיגדף את רוח הקודש לא ייסלח לו.
11 "כאשר יביאו אתכם לפני בתי כנסת, שליטים ורשויות, אל תדאגו כיצד תתגוננו או מה תאמרו,
12 כי רוח הקודש ילמד אתכם באותו זמן מה עליכם לומר."
משל השוטה העשיר
13 מישהו מהקהל אמר לו: "רבי, אמור לאחי לחלק איתי את הירושה."
14 ענה ישוע: "אדם, מי מינה אותי לשופט או לבורר ביניכם?"
15 אמר להם: "היזהרו! הישמרו מפני כל מיני חמדנות; החיים אינם מורכבים משפע של נכסים.
16 וסיפר להם את המשל הזה: "אדמתו של עשיר אחד הניבה יבול רב.
17 הוא חשב לעצמו, 'מה אעשה? אין לי מקום לאגור את היבולים שלי.'
18 "ואז אמר, 'כך אעשה. אהרוס את האסמים שלי ואבנה גדולים יותר, ושם אאגר את עודפי התבואה שלי.
19 ואומר לעצמי, 'יש לך הרבה תבואה אצורה לשנים רבות. תהנה; אכול, שתה ושמח.'
20 "אבל אלוהים אמר לו, 'טיפש! הלילה הזה ממש יידרשו ממך חייך. אז מי יקבל את מה שהכנת לעצמך?'
21 "כך יהיה למי שאוסף לעצמו דברים אך אינו עשיר בפני אלוהים."
אל תדאגו
22 אז אמר ישוע לתלמידיו: "לכן אני אומר לכם, אל תדאגו לחייכם מה תאכלו; או לגופכם מה תלבשו.
23 כי החיים רבים מהאוכל, והגוף מהבגדים.
24 שימו לב לעורבים: הם אינם זורעים ואינם קוצרים, ואין להם מחסן או אסם; ובכל זאת אלוהים מאכיל אותם. וכמה אתם יקרים מציפורים!
25 מי מכם יכול להוסיף שעה אחת לחייו בדאגה?
26 מכיוון שאינכם יכולים לעשות את הדבר הקטן הזה, מדוע אתם דואגים לכל השאר?
27 "שימו לב איך פרחי הבר גדלים. הם אינם עמלים ואינם טווים. ובכל זאת אני אומר לכם, אפילו שלמה בכל הדרו לא היה לבוש כאחד מאלה.
28 אם כך אלוהים מלביש את עשב השדה, אשר היום כאן ומחר נזרק לאש, כמה יותר ילבש אתכם, קטני אמונה!
29 ואל תדאגו למה שתאכלו או שתשתו; אל תדאגו לגבי זה.
30 כי העולם הפגאני רודף אחרי כל הדברים האלה, ואביכם יודע שאתם צריכים אותם.
31 אלא בקשו את מלכותו, וגם את הדברים האלה תינתן לכם.
32 "אל תפחדו, עדר קטן, כי אביכם חפץ לתת לכם את המלכות.
