1 A
psalm of David,
when
he fled from Avshalom his son:
ADONAI,
how many enemies I have!
How
countless are those attacking me;
2
how
countless those who say of me,
"There
is no salvation for him in God."
(Selah)
3 But
you, ADONAI, are a shield for me;
you
are my glory, you lift my head high.
4 With
my voice I call out to ADONAI,
and
he answers me from his holy hill.
(Selah)
5 I
lie down and sleep, then wake up again,
because
ADONAI sustains me.
6 I
am not afraid of the tens of thousands
set
against me on every side.
7 Rise
up, ADONAI!
Save
me, my God!
For
you slap all my enemies in the face,
you
smash the teeth of the wicked.
8 Victory
comes from ADONAI;
may
your blessing rest on your people.
(Selah)
PSALMS:
33
1 Rejoice
in ADONAI, you righteous!
Praise
is well-suited to the upright.
9 For
he spoke, and there it was;
he
commanded, and there it stood.
10 ADONAI
brings to nothing the plans of nations,
he
foils the plans of the peoples.
11 But
the counsel of ADONAI stands forever,
his
heart's plans are for all generations.
12 How
blessed is the nation whose God is ADONAI,
the
people he chose as his heritage!
13 ADONAI
looks out from heaven;
he
sees every human being;
14 from
the place where he lives he
watches
everyone living on earth,
15 he
who fashioned the hearts of them
all
and understands all they do.
16 A
king is not saved by the size of his army,
a
strong man not delivered by his great strength.
17 To
rely on a horse for safety is vain,
nor
does its great power assure escape.
18 But
ADONAI's eyes watch over those who fear him,
over
those who wait for his grace
19 to
rescue them from death
and
keep them alive in famine.
20 We
are waiting for ADONAI;
he
is our help and shield.
21 For
in him our hearts rejoice,
because
we trust in his holy name.
22 May
your mercy, ADONAI, be over us,
because
we put our hope in you.
PSALMS:
63
1 A
psalm of David,
when
he was in the desert of Y'hudah:
O
God, you are my God;
I
will seek you eagerly.
My
heart thirsts for you,
my
body longs for you in a land parched and exhausted,
where
no water can be found.
Everyone
who swears by him will exult,
for
the mouths of liars will be silenced.
PSALMS:
93
1 ADONAI
is king, robed in majesty;
ADONAI
is robed, girded with strength;
The
world is well established;
it
cannot be moved.
its
voice, the deep is raising its crashing waves.
ADONAI
on high is mighty.
PSALMS:

1 A
song of ascents:
I
raise my eyes to you, whose throne is in heaven.
or
a slave-girl to the hand of her mistress,
so
our eyes turn to ADONAI our God,
until
he has mercy on us.
PROVERBS:

1 My
son, don't forget my teaching,
keep
my commands in your heart;
write
them on the tablet of your heart.
23 Then
you will walk your way securely,
without
hurting your foot.
24 When
you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when
you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Don't
be afraid of sudden terror or destruction caused by the wicked,
when
it comes;
26 for
you can rely on ADONAI;
he
will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.
27 Don't
withhold good from someone entitled to it when
you
have in hand the power to do it.
28 Don't
tell your neighbor, "Go away!
Come
another time;
I'll
give it to you tomorrow,"
when
you have it now.
29 Don't
plan harm against your neighbor who lives beside you trustingly.
30 Don't
quarrel with someone for no reason, if he has done you no harm.
31 Don't
envy a man of violence, don't choose any of his ways;
32 for
the perverse is an abomination to ADONAI,
but
he shares his secret counsel with the upright.
33 ADONAI's
curse is in the house of the wicked,
but
he blesses the home of the righteous.
34 The
scornful he scorns,
but
gives grace to the humble.
35 The
wise win honor,
but
fools win shame.
OLD
TESTAMENT:
JEREMIAH 42:1 - 44:23
42:1 Then
all the captains of the forces, and Yochanan the son of Kareach, and
Yezanyah the son of Hosha`yah, and all the people from the least
even to the greatest, came near, 2 and
said to Yirmeyahu the prophet, Let, we pray you, our supplication be
presented before you, and pray for us to the LORD your God, even for
all this remnant; for we are left but a few of many, as your eyes do
see us: 3 that
the LORD your God may show us the way in which we should walk, and
the thing that we should do. 4
Then
Yirmeyahu the prophet said to them, I have heard you; behold, I will
pray to the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall
happen that whatever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare
it to you; I will keep nothing back from you. 5 Then
they said to Yirmeyahu, the LORD be a true and faithful witness
among us, if we don't do according to all the word with which the
LORD your God shall send you to us. 6 Whether
it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the
LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when
we obey the voice of the LORD our God. 7 It
happened after ten days, that the word of the LORD came to
Yirmeyahu. 8 Then
called he Yochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the
forces who were with him, and all the people from the least even to
the greatest, 9 and
said to them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, to whom you
sent me to present your supplication before him: 10 If
you will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not
pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I
repent me of the evil that I have done to you. 11 Don't
be afraid of the king of Bavel, of whom you are afraid; don't be
afraid of him, says the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to
deliver you from his hand. 12 I
will grant you mercy, that he may have mercy on you, and cause you
to return to your own land. 13 But
if you say, We will not dwell in this land; so that you don't obey
the voice of the LORD your God, 14 saying,
No; but we will go into the land of Mitzrayim, where we shall see no
war, nor hear the sound of the shofar, nor have hunger of bread; and
there will we dwell: 15 now
therefore hear you the word of the LORD, O remnant of Yehudah: Thus
says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, If you indeed set your
faces to enter into Mitzrayim, and go to sojourn there; 16 then
it shall happen, that the sword, which you fear, shall overtake you
there in the land of Mitzrayim; and the famine, whereof you are
afraid, shall follow hard after you there in Mitzrayim; and there
you shall die. 17 So
shall it be with all the men who set their faces to go into
Mitzrayim to sojourn there: they shall die by the sword, by the
famine, and by the pestilence; and none of them shall remain or
escape from the evil that I will bring on them. 18 For
thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: As my anger and my
wrath has been poured forth on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, so
shall my wrath be poured forth on you, when you shall enter into
Mitzrayim; and you shall be an object of horror, and an
astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and you shall see this
place no more. 19 The
LORD has spoken concerning you, remnant of Yehudah, Don't you go
into Mitzrayim: know certainly that I have testified to you this
day. 20 For
you have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for you sent me
to the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us to the LORD our God; and
according to all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare to us,
and we will do it: 21 and
I have this day declared it to you; but you have not obeyed the
voice of the LORD your God in anything for which he has sent me to
you. 22 Now
therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by the
famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where you desire to go
to sojourn there.
43:1 It
happened that, when Yirmeyahu had made an end of speaking to all the
people all the words of the LORD their God, with which the LORD
their God had sent him to them, even all these words, 2 then
spoke `Azaryah the son of Hosha`yah, and Yochanan the son of
Kareach, and all the proud men, saying to Yirmeyahu, You speak
falsely: the LORD our God has not sent you to say, You shall not go
into Mitzrayim to sojourn there; 3 but
Barukh the son of Neriyah sets you on against us, to deliver us into
the hand of the Kasdim, that they may put us to death, and carry us
away captive to Bavel. 4 So
Yochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the forces, and
all the people, didn't obey the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the
land of Yehudah. 5 But
Yochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the forces,
took all the remnant of Yehudah, who were returned from all the
nations where they had been driven, to sojourn in the land of
Yehudah; 6 the
men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and
every person who Nevuzar'adan the captain of the guard had left with
Gedalyahu the son of Achikam, the son of Shafan; and Yirmeyahu the
prophet, and Barukh the son of Neriyah; 7 and
they came into the land of Mitzrayim; for they didn't obey the voice
of the LORD: and they came to Tachpanches. 8 Then
came the word of the LORD to Yirmeyahu in Tachpanches,
saying, 9 Take
great stones in your hand, and hide them in mortar in the brick
work, which is at the entry of Par`oh's house in Tachpanches, in the
sight of the men of Yehudah; 10 and
tell them, Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Behold,
I will send and take Nevukhadretztzar the king of Bavel, my servant,
and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he
shall spread his royal pavilion over them. 11
He
shall come, and shall strike the land of Mitzrayim; such as are for
death [shall be given] to death, and such as are for captivity to
captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword. 12 I
will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Mitzrayim; and he
shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array
himself with the land of Mitzrayim, as a shepherd puts on his
garment; and he shall go forth from there in shalom. 13 He
shall also break the pillars of Beit-Shemesh, that is in the land of
Mitzrayim; and the houses of the gods of Mitzrayim shall he burn
with fire.
44:1 The
word that came to Yirmeyahu concerning all the Yehudim who lived in
the land of Mitzrayim, who lived at Migdol, and at Tachpanches, and
at Mof, and in the country of Patros, saying, 2 Thus
says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: You have seen all the
evil that I have brought on Yerushalayim, and on all the cities of
Yehudah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man
dwells therein, 3
because
of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to
anger, in that they went to burn incense, [and] to serve other gods,
that they didn't know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers. 4
However
I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and
sending them, saying, Oh, don't do this abominable thing that I
hate. 5 But
they didn't listen, nor inclined their ear to turn from their
wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods. 6
Therefore
my wrath and my anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the
cities of Yehudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim; and they are
wasted and desolate, as it is this day. 7 Therefore
now thus says the LORD, the God Tzva'ot,, the God of Yisra'el: Why
commit you [this] great evil against your own souls, to cut off from
you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Yehudah,
to leave you none remaining; 8 in
that you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning
incense to other gods in the land of Mitzrayim, where you are gone
to sojourn; that you may be cut off, and that you may be a curse and
a reproach among all the nations of the eretz? 9 Have
you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of
the kings of Yehudah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your
own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives which they
committed in the land of Yehudah, and in the streets of
Yerushalayim? 10 They
are not humbled even to this day, neither have they feared, nor
walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and
before your fathers. 11 Therefore
thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Behold, I will set
my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Yehudah. 12 I
will take the remnant of Yehudah, that have set their faces to go
into the land of Mitzrayim to sojourn there, and they shall all be
consumed; in the land of Mitzrayim shall they fall; they shall be
consumed by the sword and by the famine; they shall die, from the
least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine; and they
shall be an object of horror, [and] an astonishment, and a curse,
and a reproach. 13 For
I will punish those who dwell in the land of Mitzrayim, as I have
punished Yerushalayim, by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence; 14 so
that none of the remnant of Yehudah, who have gone into the land of
Mitzrayim to sojourn there, shall escape or be left, to return into
the land of Yehudah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell
there: for none shall return save such as shall escape. 15 Then
all the men who knew that their wives burned incense to other gods,
and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, even all the
people who lived in the land of Mitzrayim, in Patros, answered
Yirmeyahu, saying, 16 As
for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we
will not listen to you. 17 But
we will certainly perform every word that is gone forth out of our
mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out
drink-offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our
kings and our princes, in the cities of Yehudah, and in the streets
of Yerushalayim; for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well,
and saw no evil. 18 But
since we left off burning incense to the queen of the sky, and
pouring out drink-offerings to her, we have wanted all things, and
have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. 19
When
we burned incense to the queen of the sky, and poured out
drink-offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and
pour out drink-offerings to her, without our husbands? 20 Then
Yirmeyahu said to all the people, to the men, and to the women, even
to all the people who had given him who answer, saying, 21 The
incense that you burned in the cities of Yehudah, and in the streets
of Yerushalayim, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes,
and the people of the land, didn't the LORD remember them, and
didn't it come into his mind? 22 so
that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your
doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed;
therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and
a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day. 23 Because
you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against the
LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his
law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this
evil is happened to you, as it is this day.
NEW
TESTAMENT:
2 TIMOTHY 2:1 - 21
2:1 You
therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Messiah
Yeshua.
2 The
things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the
same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
3 You
therefore must endure hardship, as a good soldier of Messiah
Yeshua.
4 No
soldier on service entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he
may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.
5 If
also a man competes in the games, he is not crowned, unless he has
competed by the rules.
6 The
farmers who labor must be the first to get a share of the crops.
7 Consider
what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
8
Remember
Yeshua the Messiah, risen from the dead, of the seed of David,
according to my Good News,
9 in
which I suffer hardship to bonds, as a criminal. But God's word
isn't bound.
10 Therefore
I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain
the salvation which is in Messiah Yeshua with eternal glory.
11 This
saying is faithful: For if we died with him, we will also live with
him.
12 If
we endure, we will also reign with him. If we will deny him, he also
will deny us.
13 If
we are faithless, he remains faithful -- he can't deny himself.
14 Remind
them of these things, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that
they don't argue about words, to no profit, to the subverting of
those who hear.
15 Give
diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn't
need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.
16 But
shun empty chatter, for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
17 and
their word will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and
Philetus;
18 men
who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is
already past, and overthrowing the faith of some.
19 However
God's firm foundation stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows
those who are his," and, "Let every one who names the name
of the Lord depart from unrighteousness."
20 Now
in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver,
but also of wood and of clay. Some are for honor, and some for
dishonor.
21 If
a man therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for
honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master's use, prepared for
every good work.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
