1 For
the leader.
On
wind instruments.
A
psalm of David:
Give
ear to my words,
ADONAI,
consider my inmost thoughts.
2 Listen
to my cry for help,
my
king and my God, for I pray to you.
3 ADONAI,
in the morning you will hear my voice;
in
the morning I lay my needs before you and wait expectantly.
4 For
you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
evil
cannot remain with you.
5 Those
who brag cannot stand before your eyes,
you
hate all who do evil,
6 you
destroy those who tell lies,
ADONAI
detests men of blood and deceivers.
7 But
I can enter your house because of your great grace and love;
I
will bow down toward your holy temple in reverence for you.
8 Lead
me, ADONAI, in your righteousness
because
of those lying in wait for me;
make
your way straight before me.
9 For
in their mouths there is nothing sincere,
within
them are calamities, their throats are open tombs,
they
flatter with their tongues.
10 God,
declare them guilty!
Let
them fall through their own intrigues,
For
their many crimes, throw them down;
since
they have rebelled against you.
11 But
let all who take refuge in you rejoice,
let
them forever shout for joy!
Shelter
them;
and
they will be glad,
those
who love your name.
12 For
you, ADONAI, bless the righteous;
you
surround them with favor like a shield.
PSALMS:
35
1 By
David: ADONAI, oppose those who oppose me;
fight
against those who fight against me.
may
those who are plotting harm for me be repulsed and put to shame.
May
the net he concealed catch himself;
may
he fall into it and be destroyed.
Who
can rescue the weak from those stronger than they,
the
poor and needy from those who exploit them?"
13 But
I, when they were ill, wore sackcloth;
I
put myself out and fasted;
I
can pray that what I prayed for them might also happen to me.
14 I
behaved as I would for my friend or my brother;
I
bent down in sorrow as if mourning my mother.
15 But
when I stumble, they gather in glee;
they
gather against me and strike me unawares;
they
tear me apart unceasingly.
16 With
ungodly mocking and grimacing,
they
grind their teeth at me.
17 Adonai,
how much longer will you look on?
Rescue
me from their assaults, save the one life I have from the lions!
18 I
will give you thanks in the great assembly,
I
will give you praise among huge crowds of people.
19 Don't
let those who are wrongfully my enemies gloat over me;
and
those who hate me unprovoked -don't let them smirk at me.
20
For
they don't speak words of peace but devise ways
to
deceive the peaceful of the land.
21 They
shout to accuse me,
"Aha!
Aha! we saw you with our own eyes!"
22 You
saw them, ADONAI;
don't
stay silent.
Adonai,
don't stay far away from me.
23 Wake
up! Get up, my God, my Lord!
Defend
me and my cause!
24 Give
judgment for me, ADONAI, my God,
as
your righteousness demands.
Don't
let them gloat over me.
25 Don't
let them say to themselves,
"Aha!
We got what we wanted!"
or
say, "We swallowed them up!"
26 May
those who gloat over my distress be disgraced and humiliated.
May
those who aggrandize themselves at my expense be covered
with
shame and confusion.
27
But may those who delight in my righteousness
shout
for joy and be glad!
Let
them say always, "How great is ADONAI,
who
delights in the peace of his servant!
"Then
my tongue will tell of your righteousness
and
praise you all day long.

1 For
the leader. A psalm of David.
A
song: To you, God, in Tziyon, silence is praise;
and
vows to you are to be fulfilled.
so
that they can remain in your courtyards!
We
will be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
the
Holy Place of your temple.
God
of our salvation, you in whom all put their trust,
to
the ends of the earth and on distant seas.
The
places where the sun rises and sets you cause to sing for joy.
with
the river of God, full of water,
you
provide them grain and prepare the ground.
so
they shout for joy and break into song.
PSALMS:

1 Come,
let's sing to ADONAI!
Let's
shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation!
If
only today you would listen to his voice:
I
said, 'This is a people whose hearts go astray,
they
don't understand how I do things.'
PSALMS:

1 A
song of ascents:
Those
who trust in ADONAI are like Mount Tziyon,
which
cannot be moved but remains forever.
so
that the righteous will not themselves turn their hands to evil.
may
ADONAI turn them away, along with those who do evil.
Shalom
on Isra'el!

OLD
TESTAMENT:
JEREMIAH 48:1 - 49:22
48:1 Of
Mo'av. Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Woe to
Nevo! for it is laid waste; Kiryatayim is put to shame, it is taken;
Misgav is put to shame and broken down. 2 The
praise of Mo'av is no more; in Heshbon they have devised evil
against her: Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation. You
also, Madmen, shall be brought to silence: the sword shall pursue
you. 3 The
sound of a cry from Horonayim, desolation and great destruction! 4
Mo'av
is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard. 5 For
by the ascent of Luchit with continual weeping shall they go up; for
at the descent of Horonayim they have heard the distress of the cry
of destruction. 6 Flee,
save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness. 7 For,
because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you
also shall be taken: and Kemosh shall go forth into captivity, his
Kohanim and his princes together. 8 The
destroyer shall come on every city, and no city shall escape; the
valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed; as the
LORD has spoken. 9
Give
wings to Mo'av, that she may fly and get her away: and her cities
shall become a desolation, without any to dwell therein. 10 Cursed
be he who does the work of the LORD negligently; and cursed be he
who keeps back his sword from blood. 11
Mo'av
has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees, and
has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into
captivity: therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not
changed. 12 Therefore,
behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will send to him those
who pour off, and they shall pour him off; and they shall empty his
vessels, and break their bottles in pieces.
13
Mo'av
shall be ashamed of Kemosh, as the house of Yisra'el was ashamed of
Beit-El their confidence. 14
How
say you, We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war? 15 Mo'av
is laid waste, and they are gone up into his cities, and his chosen
young men are gone down to the slaughter, says the King, whose name
is the LORD of Hosts. 16 The
calamity of Mo'av is near to come, and his affliction hurries fast.
17 All
you who are round about him, bemoan him, and all you who know his
name; say, How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful rod! 18 You
daughter who dwells in Divon, come down from your glory, and sit in
thirst; for the destroyer of Mo'av is come up against you, he has
destroyed your strongholds. 19 Inhabitant
of `Aro`er, stand by the way, and watch: ask him who flees, and her
who escapes; say, What has been done? 20 Mo'av
is put to shame; for it is broken down: wail and cry; tell you it by
the Arnon, that Mo'av is laid waste. 21
Judgment
is come on the plain country, on Holon, and on Yahtzah, and on
Mefa`at, 22 and
on Divon, and on Nevo, and on Beit-Divlatayim, 23 and
on Kiryatayim, and on Beit-Gamul, and on Beit-Me`on, 24 and
on Keriyot, and on Botzrah, and on all the cities of the land of
Mo'av, far or near. 25 The
horn of Mo'av is cut off, and his arm is broken, says the
LORD. 26 Make
you him drunken; for he magnified himself against the LORD: and
Mo'av shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in
derision. 27 For
wasn't Yisra'el a derision to you? was he found among thieves? for
as often as you speak of him, you wag the head. 28 You
inhabitants of Mo'av, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock; and
be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of the
abyss. 29 We
have heard of the pride of Mo'av, [that] he is very proud; his
loftiness, and his pride, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of
his heart. 30 I
know his wrath, says the LORD, that it is nothing; his boastings
have worked nothing. 31 Therefore
will I wail for Mo'av; yes, I will cry out for all Mo'av: for the
men of Kir-Heres shall they mourn. 32 With
more than the weeping of Ya`zer will I weep for you, vine of Sivmah:
your branches passed over the sea, they reached even to the sea of
Ya`zer: on your summer fruits and on your vintage the destroyer is
fallen. 33
Gladness
and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of
Mo'av; and I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses: none
shall tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting. 34
From
the cry of Heshbon even to El`aleh, even to Yahatz have they uttered
their voice, from Tzo`ar even to Horonayim, to `Eglat, Shelishiyah:
for the waters of Nimrim also shall become desolate. 35
Moreover
I will cause to cease in Mo'av, says the LORD, him who offers in the
high place, and him who burns incense to his gods. 36 Therefore
my heart sounds for Mo'av like pipes, and my heart sounds like pipes
for the men of Kir-Heres: therefore the abundance that he has gotten
is perished. 37 For
every head is bald, and every beard clipped: on all the hands are
cuttings, and on the loins sackcloth. 38 On
all the housetops of Mo'av and in the streets of it there is
lamentation every where; for I have broken Mo'av like a vessel in
which none delights, says the LORD. 39 How
is it broken down! [how] do they wail! how has Mo'av turned the back
with shame! so shall Mo'av become a derision and a terror to all who
are round about him. 40 For
thus says the LORD: Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall
spread out his wings against Mo'av. 41 Keriyot
is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the
mighty men of Mo'av at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in
her pangs. 42 Mo'av
shall be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified
himself against the LORD. 43 Fear,
and the pit, and the snare, are on you, inhabitant of Mo'av, says
the LORD. 44 He
who flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he who gets up
out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring on him,
even on Mo'av, the year of their visitation, says the LORD. 45 Those
who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a
fire is gone forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of
Sichon, and has devoured the corner of Mo'av, and the crown of the
head of the tumultuous ones. 46Woe
to you, O Mo'av! the people of Kemosh is undone; for your sons are
taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity. 47 Yet
will I bring back the captivity of Mo'av in the latter days, says
the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Mo'av.
49:1 Of
the children of `Ammon. Thus says the LORD: Has Yisra'el no sons?
has he no heir? why then does Malkam possess Gad, and his people
well in the cities of it? 2 Therefore,
behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of
war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of `Ammon; and it
shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with
fire: then shall Yisra'el possess those who did possess him, says
the LORD. 3 Wail,
Heshbon, for `Ai is laid waste; cry, you daughters of Rabbah, gird
you with sackcloth: lament, and run back and forth among the fences;
for Malkam shall go into captivity, his Kohanim and his princes
together. 4 Why
glory you in the valleys, your flowing valley, backsliding daughter?
who trusted in her treasures, [saying], Who shall come to
me? 5 Behold,
I will bring a fear on you, says the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, from
all who are round about you; and you shall be driven out every man
right forth, and there shall be none to gather together the
fugitives. 6 But
afterward I will bring back the captivity of the children of `Ammon,
says the LORD. 7 Of
Edom. Thus says the LORD of Hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is
counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished? 8 Flee
you, turn back, dwell in the depths, inhabitants of Dedan; for I
will bring the calamity of Esav on him, the time that I shall visit
him. 9 If
grape-gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning
grapes? if thieves by night, wouldn't they destroy until they had
enough? 10 But
I have made Esav bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he
shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is destroyed, and his
brothers, and his neighbors; and he is no more. 11 Leave
your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let your
widows trust in me. 12 For
thus says the LORD: Behold, they to whom it didn't pertain to drink
of the cup shall assuredly drink; and are you he who shall
altogether go unpunished? you shall not go unpunished, but you shall
surely drink. 13 For
I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, that Botzrah shall become an
astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities
of it shall be perpetual wastes. 14 I
have heard news from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the
nations, [saying], Gather yourselves together, and come against her,
and rise up to the battle. 15 For,
behold, I have made you small among the nations, and despised among
men. 16 As
for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who
dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill:
though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring
you down from there, says the LORD. 17 Edom
shall become an astonishment: everyone who passes by it shall be
astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues of it. 18 As
in the overthrow of Sedom and `Amorah and the neighbor cities of it,
says the LORD, no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of
man sojourn therein. 19 Behold,
he shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Yarden against
the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from
it; and whoever is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is
like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd who
will stand before me? 20 Therefore
hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom; and
his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman:
Surely they shall drag them away, [even] the little ones of the
flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them. 21
The
eretz trembles at the noise of their fall; there is a cry, the noise
whereof is heard in the Sea of Suf.
22
Behold,
he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings
against Botzrah: and the heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day
shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
NEW
TESTAMENT:
2 TIMOTHY 4:1 - 22
4:1 I
charge you therefore before God and the Lord, Yeshua the Messiah,
who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His
kingdom:
2 preach
the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke,
and exhort, with all patience and teaching.
3 For
the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine,
but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after
their own lusts;
4 and
will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.
5 But
you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an
evangelist, and fulfill your ministry.
6 For
I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.
7 I
have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept
the faith.
8 From
now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which
the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me at that day; and not
to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
9 Be
diligent to come to me soon,
10 for
Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to
Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia.
11 Only
Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful
to me for ministering.
12 But
I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.
13 Bring
the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when you come, and the
books, especially the parchments.
14 Alexander,
the coppersmith, did much evil to me. The Lord will repay him
according to his works,
15 of
whom you also must beware; for he greatly opposed our words.
16 At
my first defense, no one took my part, but all left me. May it not
be held against them.
17 But
the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the
message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Goyim might
hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 And
the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me to
his heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amein.
19 Greet
Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus.
20 Erastus
remained at Corinth, but I left Trophimus at Miletus sick.
21 Be
diligent to come before winter. Eubulus salutes you, as do Pudens,
Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers.
22 The
Lord, Yeshua the Messiah, be with your spirit. Grace be with you.
Amein.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
