1 For
the leader.
With
stringed instruments.
A
psalm of David:
O
God, my vindicator!
Answer
me when I call!
When
I was distressed, you set me free;
now
have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
2
Men
of rank, how long will you shame my honor,
love
what is vain, chase after lies?
(Selah)
3 Understand
that ADONAI sets apart the godly person for himself;
ADONAI
will hear when I call to him.
4 You
can be angry, but do not sin!
Think
about this as you lie in bed, and calm down.
(Selah)
5 Offer
sacrifices rightly,
and
put your trust in ADONAI.
6 Many
ask, "Who can show us some good?"
ADONAI,
lift the light of your face over us!
7 You
have filled my heart with more joy
than
all their grain and new wine.
8 I
will lie down and sleep in peace;
for,
ADONAI, you alone make me live securely.

1 By
David,
when
he pretended to be insane before Avimelekh,
who
then drove him away;
so
he left:
I
will bless ADONAI at all times;
his
praise will always be in my mouth.
9
Fear
ADONAI, you holy ones of his,
for
those who fear him lack nothing.
10 Young
lions can be needy, they can go hungry,
but
those who seek ADONAI lack nothing good.
11 Come,
children, listen to me;
I
will teach you the fear of ADONAI.
12 Which
of you takes pleasure in living?
Who
wants a long life to see good things?
13 [If
you do,] keep your tongue from evil
and
your lips from deceiving talk;
14 turn
from evil, and do good;
seek
peace, go after it!
15 The
eyes of ADONAI watch over the righteous,
and
his ears are open to their cry.
16 But
the face of ADONAI opposes those who do evil,
to
cut off all memory of them from the earth.
17 [The
righteous] cried out, and ADONAI heard,
and
he saved them from all their troubles.
18 ADONAI
is near those with broken hearts;
he
saves those whose spirit is crushed.
19 The
righteous person suffers many evils,
but
ADONAI rescues him out of them all.
20 He
protects all his bones;
not
one of them gets broken.
21 Evil
will kill the wicked, and those who
hate
the righteous will be condemned.
22 But
ADONAI redeems his servants;
no
one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

the leader.
A
psalm of David:
Hear
my voice, God, as I plead:
preserve
my life from fear of the enemy.

their diligent search to completion when each
of
them has thought it through in the depth of his heart.
they
will take refuge in him;
all
the upright in heart will exult.

1 God
of vengeance, ADONAI!
God
of vengeance, appear!
23 But
he repays them as their guilt deserves;
he
will cut them off with their own evil;
ADONAI
our God will cut them off.

1 Listen,
children, to a father's instruction;
pay
attention, in order to gain insight;
and
my mother, too, thought of me as her special darling.
they
are robbed of sleep unless they make someone fall.
shining
ever brighter until full daylight.
24 Keep
crooked speech out of your mouth,
banish
deceit from your lips.
25 Let
your eyes look straight ahead,
fix
your gaze on what lies in front of you.
26 Level
the path for your feet,
let
all your ways be properly prepared;
27 then
deviate neither right nor left;
and
keep your foot far from evil.
OLD
TESTAMENT:
JEREMIAH 44:24 - 47:7
44:24 Moreover
Yirmeyahu said to all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word
of the LORD, all Yehudah who are in the land of Mitzrayim: 25 Thus
says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, saying, You and your
wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have
fulfilled it, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have
vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out
drink-offerings to her: establish then your vows, and perform your
vows. 26 Therefore
hear the word of the LORD, all Yehudah who dwell in the land of
Mitzrayim: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that
my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Yehudah in
all the land of Mitzrayim, saying, As the Lord GOD lives. 27
Behold,
I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of
Yehudah who are in the land of Mitzrayim shall be consumed by the
sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them. 28 Those
who escape the sword shall return out of the land of Mitzrayim into
the land of Yehudah, few in number; and all the remnant of Yehudah,
who have gone into the land of Mitzrayim to sojourn there, shall know
whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs. 29 This
shall be the sign to you, says the LORD, that I will punish you in
this place, that you may know that my words shall surely stand
against you for evil: 30
Thus
says the LORD, Behold, I will give Par`oh Hofra king of Mitzrayim
into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of those who seek his
life; as I gave Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah into the hand of
Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel, who was his enemy, and sought his
life.
45:1 The
word that Yirmeyahu the prophet spoke to Barukh the son of Neriyah,
when he wrote these word in a book at the mouth of Yirmeyahu, in the
fourth year of Yehoiakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah,
saying, 2 Thus
says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, to you, Barukh: 3 You
did say, Woe is me now! for the LORD has added sorrow to my pain; I
am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest. 4
Thus
shall you tell him, Thus says the LORD: Behold, that which I have
built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck
up; and this in the whole land. 5 Seek
you great things for yourself? Don't seek them; for, behold, I will
bring evil on all flesh, says the LORD; but your life will I give to
you for a prey in all places where you go.
46:1 The
word of the LORD which came to Yirmeyahu the prophet concerning the
nations. 2 Of
Mitzrayim: concerning the army of Par`oh-Nekho king of Mitzrayim,
which was by the river Perat in Karkemish, which Nevukhadretztzar
king of Bavel struck in the fourth year of Yehoiakim the son of
Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah. 3 Prepare
you the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle. 4 Harness
the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand forth with your
helmets; furbish the spears, put on the coats of mail. 5 Why
have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their
mighty ones are beaten down, and have fled apace, and don't look
back: terror is on every side, says the LORD. 6 Don't
let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; in the north by
the river Perat have they stumbled and fallen. 7
Who is this who rises up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves
like the rivers? 8
Mitzrayim
rises up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the
rivers: and he says, I will rise up, I will cover the eretz; I will
destroy cities and the inhabitants of it. 9 Go
up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men go
forth: Kush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle
and bend the bow. 10 For
that day is [a day] of the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, a day of
vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword
shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood;
for the Lord, the LORD of hosts, has a sacrifice in the north country
by the river Perat. 11
Go
up into Gil`ad, and take balm, virgin daughter of Mitzrayim: in vain
do you use many medicines; there is no healing for you. 12 The
nations have heard of your shame, and the eretz is full of your cry;
for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they are fallen
both of them together. 13 The
word that the LORD spoke to Yirmeyahu the prophet, how that
Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel should come and strike the land of
Mitzrayim. 14 Declare
you in Mitzrayim, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Mof and in
Tachpanches: say you, Stand forth, and prepare you; for the sword has
devoured round about you. 15 Why
are your strong ones swept away? they didn't stand, because the LORD
did drive them. 16
He
made many to stumble, yes, they fell one on another: and they said,
Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our
birth, from the oppressing sword. 17
They cried there, Par`oh king of Mitzrayim is but a noise; he has let
the appointed time pass by. 18 As
I live, says the King, whose name is the LORD of Hosts, surely like
Tavor among the mountains, and like Karmel by the sea, so shall he
come. 19 You
daughter who dwell in Mitzrayim, furnish yourself to go into
captivity; for Mof shall become a desolation, and shall be burnt up,
without inhabitant. 20 Mitzrayim
is a very beautiful heifer; [but] destruction out of the north is
come, it is come. 21 Also
her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for
they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they didn't
stand: for the day of their calamity is come on them, the time of
their visitation. 22 The
sound of it shall go like the serpent; for they shall march with an
army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters. 23 They
shall cut down her forest, says the LORD, though it can't be
searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are
innumerable. 24 The
daughter of Mitzrayim shall be put to shame; she shall be delivered
into the hand of the people of the north. 25 The
LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, says: Behold, I will punish Amon
of No, and Par`oh, and Mitzrayim, with her gods, and her kings; even
Par`oh, and those who trust in him: 26 and
I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and
into the hand of Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel, and into the hand of
his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of
old, says the LORD. 27 But
don't be afraid you, Ya`akov my servant, neither be dismayed,
Yisra'el: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from
the land of their captivity; and Ya`akov shall return, and shall be
quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. 28
Don't
be afraid you, O Ya`akov my servant, says the LORD; for I am with
you: for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have
driven you; but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct
you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.
47:1 The
word of the LORD that came to Yirmeyahu the prophet concerning the
Pelishtim, before that Par`oh struck `Aza. 2 Thus
says the LORD: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall
become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land and all
that is therein, the city and those who dwell therein; and the men
shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail. 3 At
the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong ones, at the
rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers
don't look back to their children for feebleness of hands; 4 because
of the day that comes to destroy all the Pelishtim, to cut off from
Tzor and Tzidon every helper who remains: for the LORD will destroy
the Pelishtim, the remnant of the isle of Kaftor. 5
Baldness
is come on `Aza; Ashkelon is brought to nothing, the remnant of their
valley: how long will you cut yourself? 6 You
sword of the LORD, how long will it be before you be quiet? put up
yourself into your scabbard; rest, and be still. 7 How
can you be quiet, seeing the LORD has given you a charge? Against
Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore, there has he appointed it.
NEW
TESTAMENT:
2 TIMOTHY 2:22 - 3:17
2:22 Flee
from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and
shalom with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But
refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate
strife. 24 The
Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to
teach, patient, 25 in
gentleness correcting those who oppose him; if perhaps God may give
them repentance to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and
they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been
taken captive by him to his will.
3:1 But
know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. 2 For
men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without
natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control,
fierce, no lovers of good, 4 traitors,
headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of
God; 5 holding
a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away
from these, also. 6 For
of these are those who creep into houses, and take captive gullible
women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always
learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the
truth. 8 Even
as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moshe, so do these also oppose the
truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. 9
But
they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all
men, as theirs also came to be. 10 But
you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love,
steadfastness, 11 persecutions,
and sufferings; those things that happened to me at Antioch, at
Iconium, at Lystra; those persecutions that I endured. Out of them
all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes,
and all who desire to live godly in Messiah Yeshua will suffer
persecution. 13 But
evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being
deceived. 14 But
you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured
of, knowing from whom you have learned them. 15
From
infancy, you have known the sacred writings which are able to make
you wise to salvation through faith, which is in Messiah
Yeshua. 16 Every
writing inspired by God is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for
correction, and for instruction which is in righteousness, 17
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every
good work.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
