1 For
the leader.
With
stringed instruments.
On
sh'minit [low-pitched musical instruments?].
A
psalm of David:
ADONAI,
don't rebuke me in your anger,
don't
discipline me in the heat of your fury.
2 Be
gracious to me, ADONAI,
because
I am withering away;
heal
me, ADONAI, because my bones are shaking;
3 I
am completely terrified;
and
you, ADONAI - how long?
4 Come
back, ADONAI, and rescue me!
Save
me for the sake of your grace;
5 for
in death, no one remembers you;
in
Sh'ol, who will praise you?
6 I
am worn out with groaning;
all
night I drench my bed with tears,
flooding
my couch till it swims.
7 My
vision is darkened with anger;
it
grows weak because of all my foes.
8 Get
away from me, all you workers of evil!
For
ADONAI has heard the sound of my weeping,
9 ADONAI
has heard my pleading,
ADONAI
will accept my prayer.
10 All
my enemies will be confounded, completely terrified;
they
will turn back and be suddenly put to shame.

1 For
the leader.
By
David, the servant of ADONAI:
Crime
speaks to the wicked.
I
perceive this in my heart;
before
his eyes there is no fear of God.
until
his wrongs are discovered;
then,
he is hated.
your
judgments are like the great deep.
You
save man and beast, ADONAI.
and
you have them drink from the stream of your delights.
11 Don't
let the foot of the proud tread on me
or
the hands of the wicked drive me away.

1 For
the leader.
A
song.
A
psalm:
Shout
to God, all the earth!
his
eyes keep watch on the nations.
Let
no rebel arise to challenge him.
12 You
made men ride over our heads;
we
went through fire and water.
But
you brought us out to a place of plenty.
13 I
will come into your house with burnt offerings,
I
will fulfill my vows to you,
14 those
my lips pronounced and my mouth spoke
when
I was in distress.
15 I
will offer you burnt offerings of fattened animals,
along
with the sweet smoke of rams;
I
will offer bulls and goats. (Selah)
16 Come
and listen, all you who fear God,
and
I will tell what he has done for me.
17 I
cried out to him with my mouth,
his
praise was on my tongue.
18 Had
I cherished evil thoughts,
Adonai
would not have listened.
19 But
in fact, God did listen;
he
paid attention to my prayer.
20 Blessed
be God, who did not reject my prayer
or
turn his grace away from me.

1 Sing
to ADONAI a new song!
Sing
to ADONAI, all the earth!
"The
world is firmly established, immovable.
He
will judge the peoples fairly.
he
will judge the world rightly and the peoples with his faithfulness.
PSALMS:

1 When
the LORD brought back those who returned to Tziyon,
We
were like those who dream.
2 Then
our mouth was filled with laughter,
And
our tongue with singing.
Then
said they among the nations,
"The
LORD has done great things for them."
3 The
LORD has done great things for us,
And
we are glad.
4 Restore
our fortunes again, LORD,
Like
the streams in the Negev.
5 Those
who sow in tears will reap in joy.
6 He
who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing,
Will
assuredly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.
PROVERBS:
6
If
you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger;
Seeing
you have come into the hand of your neighbor.
Go,
humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor.
Like
a bird from the snare of the fowler.
21 Bind
them continually on your heart.
Tie
them around your neck.
22 When
you walk, it will lead you.
When
you sleep, it will watch over you.
When
you awake, it will talk with you.
23 For
the mitzvah is a lamp,
And
the law is light.
Reproofs
of instruction are the way of life,
24 To
keep you from the immoral woman,
From
the flattery of the wayward wife's tongue.
25 Don't
lust after her beauty in your heart,
Neither
let her captivate you with her eyelids.
26 For
a prostitute reduces you to a piece of bread.
The
adulteress hunts for your precious life.
27
Can
a man scoop fire into his lap,
And
his clothes not be burned?
28 Or
can one walk on hot coals,
And
his feet not be scorched?
29 So
is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife.
Whoever
touches her will not be unpunished.
30 Men
don't despise a thief,
If
he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry:
31 But
if he be found, he shall restore seven times.
He
shall give all the wealth of his house.
32 He
who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding.
He
who does it destroys his own soul.
33 He
will get wounds and dishonor.
His
reproach will not be wiped away.
34 For
jealousy arouses the fury of the husband.
He
won't spare in the day of vengeance.
35 He
won't regard any ransom,
Neither
will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
49:23 Of
Dammesek. Hamat is confounded, and Arpad; for they have heard evil
news, they are melted away: there is sorrow on the sea; it can't be
quiet. 24 Dammesek
has grown feeble, she turns herself to flee, and trembling has
seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a
woman in travail. 25 How
is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy? 26 Therefore
her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war
shall be brought to silence in that day, says the LORD of
Hosts. 27 I
will kindle a fire in the wall of Dammesek, and it shall devour the
palaces of Ben-Hadad. 28 Of
Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hatzor, which Nevukhadretztzar king of
Bavel struck. Thus says the LORD: Arise you, go up to Kedar, and
destroy the children of the east. 29 Their
tents and their flocks shall they take; they shall carry away for
themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels;
and they shall cry to them, Terror on every side! 30 Flee
you, wander far off, dwell in the depths, you inhabitants of Hatzor,
says the LORD; for Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel has taken counsel
against you, and has conceived a purpose against you. 31 Arise,
go up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without care, says
the LORD; that have neither gates nor bars, that dwell
alone. 32 Their
camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil:
and I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners [of their
hair] cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of
them, says the LORD. 33
Hatzor
shall be a dwelling-place of jackals, a desolation forever: no man
shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man sojourn
therein. 34 The
word of the LORD that came to Yirmeyahu the prophet concerning
`Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah,
saying, 35 Thus
says the LORD of Hosts: Behold, I will break the bow of `Elam, the
chief of their might. 36 On
`Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of the sky,
and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no
nation where the outcasts of `Elam shall not come. 37 I
will cause `Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before
those who seek their life; and I will bring evil on them, even my
fierce anger, says the LORD; and I will send the sword after them,
until I have consumed them; 38
and
I will set my throne in `Elam, and will destroy from there king and
princes, says the LORD. 39 But
it shall happen in the latter days, that I will bring back the
captivity of `Elam, says the LORD.
50;1 The
word that the LORD spoke concerning Bavel, concerning the land of
the Kasdim, by Yirmeyahu the prophet. 2 Declare
you among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish,
and don't conceal: say, Bavel is taken, Bel is put to shame,
Merodakh is dismayed; her images are put to shame, her idols are
dismayed. 3 For
out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall
make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they are fled,
they are gone, both man and animal. 4 In
those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the children of
Yisra'el shall come, they and the children of Yehudah together; they
shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek the LORD their
God. 5 They
shall inquire concerning Tziyon with their faces turned toward it,
[saying], Come, and join yourselves to the LORD in an everlasting
covenant that shall not be forgotten. 6
My
people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go
astray; they have turned them away on the mountains; they have gone
from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their
resting-place. 7 All
who found them have devoured them; and their adversaries said, We
are not guilty, because they have sinned against the LORD, the
habitation of righteousness, even the LORD, the hope of their
fathers. 8 Flee
out of the midst of Bavel, and go forth out of the land of the
Kasdim, and be as the male goats before the flocks. 9 For,
behold, I will stir up and cause to come up against Bavel a company
of great nations from the north country; and they shall set
themselves in array against her; from there she shall be taken:
their arrows shall be as of an expert mighty man; none shall return
in vain. 10
Kasdim
shall be a prey: all who prey on her shall be satisfied, says the
LORD. 11 Because
you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage,
because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out [the grain], and
neigh as strong horses; 12 your
mother shall be utterly put to shame; she who bore you shall be
confounded: behold, she shall be the least of the nations, a
wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. 13 Because
of the wrath of the LORD she shall not be inhabited, but she shall
be wholly desolate: everyone who goes by Bavel shall be astonished,
and hiss at all her plagues. 14 Set
yourselves in array against Bavel round about, all you who bend the
bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against the
LORD. 15 Shout
against her round about: she has submitted herself; her bulwarks are
fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of the
LORD: take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her. 16 Cut
off the sower from Bavel, and him who handles the sickle in the time
of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn
everyone to his people, and they shall flee everyone to his own
land. 17 Yisra'el
is a hunted sheep; the lions have driven him away: first, the king
of Ashshur devoured him; and now at last Nevukhadretztzar king of
Bavel has broken his bones. 18 Therefore
thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Behold, I will
punish the king of Bavel and his land, as I have punished the king
of Ashshur. 19 I
will bring Yisra'el again to his pasture, and he shall feed on
Karmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied on the hills of
Efrayim and in Gil`ad. 20 In
those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of
Yisra'el shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins
of Yehudah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom
I leave as a remnant. 21 Go
up against the land of Meratayim, even against it, and against the
inhabitants of Pekod: kill and utterly destroy after them, says the
LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded you. 22 A
sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction. 23 How
is the hammer of the whole eretz cut apart and broken! how is Bavel
become a desolation among the nations! 24 I
have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, Bavel, and you
weren't aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have
striven against the LORD. 25 The
LORD has opened his armory, and has brought forth the weapons of his
indignation; for the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, has a work [to do] in
the land of the Kasdim. 26 Come
against her from the utmost border; open her store-houses; cast her
up as heaps, and destroy her utterly; let nothing of her be
left. 27 Kill
all her bulls; let them go down to the slaughter: woe to them! for
their day is come, the time of their visitation. 28 The
voice of those who flee and escape out of the land of Bavel, to
declare in Tziyon the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance
of his temple. 29 Call
together the archers against Bavel, all those who bend the bow;
encamp against her round about; let none of it escape: recompense
her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do to
her; for she has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One
of Yisra'el. 30 Therefore
shall her young men fall in her streets, and all her men of war
shall be brought to silence in that day, says the LORD. 31 Behold,
I am against you, you proud one, says the Lord, the LORD of Hosts;
for your day is come, the time that I will visit you. 32 The
proud one shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up; and I
will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all who are
round about him. 33 Thus
says the LORD of hosts: The children of Yisra'el and the children of
Yehudah are oppressed together; and all who took them captive hold
them fast; they refuse to let them go. 34 Their
Redeemer is strong; the LORD of Hosts is his name: he will
thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the eretz,
and disquiet the inhabitants of Bavel. 35 A
sword is on the Kasdim, says the LORD, and on the inhabitants of
Bavel, and on her princes, and on her wise men. 36
A
sword is on the boasters, and they shall become fools; a sword is on
her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed. 37 A
sword is on their horses, and on their chariots, and on all the
mixed people who are in the midst of her; and they shall become as
women: a sword is on her treasures, and they shall be robbed. 38 A
drought is on her waters, and they shall be dried up; for it is a
land of engraved images, and they are mad over idols. 39 Therefore
the wild animals of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there,
and the ostriches shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more
inhabited forever; neither shall it be lived in from generation to
generation. 40 As
when God overthrew Sedom and `Amorah and the neighbor cities of it,
says the LORD, so shall no man dwell there, neither shall any son of
man sojourn therein. 41 Behold,
a people comes from the north; and a great nation and many kings
shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the eretz. 42 They
lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their
voice roars like the sea; and they ride on horses, everyone set in
array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of
Bavel. 43 The
king of Bavel has heard the news of them, and his hands wax feeble:
anguish has taken hold of him, [and] pangs as of a woman in
travail. 44 Behold,
[the enemy] shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Yarden
against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run
away from it; and whoever is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for
who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the
shepherd who can stand before me? 45 Therefore
hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Bavel; and
his purposes, that he has purposed against the land of the Kasdim:
Surely they shall drag them away, [even] the little ones of the
flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over
them. 46 At
the noise of the taking of Bavel the eretz trembles, and the cry is
heard among the nations.
NEW
TESTAMENT:
TITUS 1:1 - 16
1:1 Sha'ul,
a servant of God, and an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, according to
the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is
according to godliness,
2 in
hope of eternal life, which God, who can't lie, promised before
eternal times;
3 but
in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was
entrusted according to the mitzvah of God, our Savior;
4 to
Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and
shalom from God, the Father, and the Lord, Yeshua the Messiah, our
Savior.
5 I
left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the
things that were lacking, and appoint Zakenim in every city, as I
directed you;
6
if
anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who
believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.
7 For
the overseer must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-pleasing,
not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for
dishonest gain;
8 but
given to hospitality, as a lover of good, sober-minded, fair, holy,
self-controlled;
9 holding
to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may
be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who
contradict him.
10 For
there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers,
especially those of the circumcision,
11 whose
mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching
things which they ought not, for dishonest gain's sake.
12 One
of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always
liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons."
13 This
testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they
may be sound in the faith,
14 not
paying attention to Yehudi fables and mitzvot of men who turn away
from the truth.
15 To
the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and
unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their
conscience are defiled.
16
They
profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being
abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
John 3:16-21 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, F that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.G 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
