1
Give
ear to my words, O LORD,
consider
my sighing.
2
Listen
to my cry for help,
my
King and my God,
for
to you I pray.
3
In
the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in
the morning I lay my requests before you
and
wait in expectation.
4
You
are not a God who takes pleasure in evil;
with
you the wicked cannot dwell.
5
The
arrogant cannot stand in your presence;
you
hate all who do wrong.
6
You
destroy those who tell lies;
bloodthirsty
and deceitful men
the
LORD abhors.
7
But
I, by your great mercy,
will
come into your house;
in
reverence will I bow down
toward
your holy temple.
8
Lead
me, O LORD, in your righteousness
because
of my enemies--
make
straight your way before me. [1]
9
Not
a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their
heart is filled with destruction.
Their
throat is an open grave;
with
their tongue they speak deceit.
10
Declare
them guilty, O God!
Let
their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish
them for their many sins,
for
they have rebelled against you.
11
But
let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let
them ever sing for joy.
Spread
your protection over them,
that
those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12
For
surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you
surround them with your favor as with a shield. [2]

Of
David.
1
Contend,
O LORD, with those who contend with me;
fight
against those who fight against me.
2
Take
up shield and buckler;
arise
and come to my aid.
3
Brandish
spear and javelin A
against
those who pursue me.
Say
to my soul,
"I am your salvation."
4
May
those who seek my life
be
disgraced and put to shame;
may
those who plot my ruin
be
turned back in dismay.
5
May
they be like chaff before the wind,
with
the angel of the LORD driving them away;
6
may
their path be dark and slippery,
with
the angel of the LORD pursuing them.
7
Since
they hid their net for me without cause
and
without cause dug a pit for me,
8
may
ruin overtake them by surprise--
may
the net they hid entangle them,
may
they fall into the pit, to their ruin.
9
Then
my soul will rejoice in the LORD
and
delight in his salvation.
10
My
whole being will exclaim,
"Who
is like you, O LORD?
You
rescue the poor from those too strong for them,
the
poor and needy from those who rob them." [3]
11
Ruthless
witnesses come forward;
they
question me on things I know nothing about.
12
They
repay me evil for good
and
leave my soul forlorn.
13
Yet
when they were ill, I put on sackcloth
and
humbled myself with fasting.
When
my prayers returned to me unanswered,
14
I
went about mourning
as
though for my friend or brother.
I
bowed my head in grief
as
though weeping for my mother.
15
But
when I stumbled, they gathered in glee;
attackers
gathered against me when I was unaware.
They
slandered me without ceasing.
16
Like
the ungodly they maliciously mocked B;
they
gnashed their teeth at me.
17
O
Lord, how long will you look on?
Rescue
my life from their ravages,
my
precious life from these lions.
18
I
will give you thanks in the great assembly;
among
throngs of people I will praise you.
19
Let
not those gloat over me
who
are my enemies without cause;
let
not those who hate me without reason
maliciously
wink the eye.
20
They
do not speak peaceably,
but
devise false accusations
against
those who live quietly in the land.
21
They
gape at me and say, "Aha! Aha!
With
our own eyes we have seen it." [4]
22
O
LORD, you have seen this; be not silent.
Do
not be far from me, O Lord.
23
Awake,
and rise to my defense!
Contend
for me, my God and Lord.
24
Vindicate
me in your righteousness, O LORD my God;
do
not let them gloat over me.
25
Do
not let them think, "Aha, just what we wanted!"
or
say, "We have swallowed him up."
26
May
all who gloat over my distress
be
put to shame and confusion;
may
all who exalt themselves over me
be
clothed with shame and disgrace.
27
May
those who delight in my vindication
shout
for joy and gladness;
may
they always say, "The LORD be exalted,
who
delights in the well-being of his servant."
28
My
tongue will speak of your righteousness
and
of your praises all day long. [5]

For

1
Praise
awaits A you, O God, in Zion;
to
you our vows will be fulfilled.
2
O
you who hear prayer,
to
you all men will come.
3
When
we were overwhelmed by sins,
you
forgave B our transgressions.
4
Blessed
are those you choose
and
bring near to live in your courts!
We
are filled with the good things of your house,
of
your holy temple.
5
You
answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness,
O
God our Savior,
the
hope of all the ends of the earth
and
of the farthest seas,
6
who
formed the mountains by your power,
having
armed yourself with strength,
7
who
stilled the roaring of the seas,
the
roaring of their waves,
and
the turmoil of the nations.
8
Those
living far away fear your wonders;
where
morning dawns and evening fades
you
call forth songs of joy.
9
You
care for the land and water it;
you
enrich it abundantly.
The
streams of God are filled with water
to
provide the people with grain, [6]
for
so you have ordained it. C
10
You
drench its furrows
and
level its ridges;
you
soften it with showers
and
bless its crops.
11
You
crown the year with your bounty,
and
your carts overflow with abundance.
12
The
grasslands of the desert overflow;
the
hills are clothed with gladness.

The
meadows are covered with flocks
and
the valleys are mantled with grain;
they
shout for joy and sing. [7]
PSALMS: 95
1
Come,
let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let
us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2
Let
us come before him with thanksgiving
and
extol him with music and song.
3
For
the LORD is the great God,
the
great King above all gods.
4
In
his hand are the depths of the earth,
and
the mountain peaks belong to him.
5
The
sea is his, for he made it,
and
his hands formed the dry land.
6
Come,
let us bow down in worship,
let
us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
7
for
he is our God
and
we are the people of his pasture,
the
flock under his care.
Today,
if you hear his voice,
8
do
not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, A
as
you did that day at Massah B in the desert,
9
where
your fathers tested and tried me,
though
they had seen what I did.
10
For
forty years I was angry with that generation;
I
said, "They are a people whose hearts go
astray,
and
they have not known my ways."
11
So
I declared on oath in my anger,
"They shall never enter my rest." [8]
PSALMS: 125
A
song of ascents.
1
Those
who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion,
which
cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2
As
the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so
the LORD surrounds his people
both
now and forevermore.
3
The
scepter of the wicked will not remain
over
the land allotted to the righteous,
for
then the righteous might use
their
hands to do evil.
4
Do
good, O LORD, to those who are good,
to
those who are upright in heart.
5
But
those who turn to crooked ways
the
LORD will banish with the evildoers.
Peace
be upon Israel. [9]
PROVERBS: 5
5
1
My son, pay attention to my wisdom,
listen
well to my words of insight,
2
that
you may maintain discretion
and
your lips may preserve knowledge.
3
For
the lips of an adulteress drip honey,
and
her speech is smoother than oil;
4
but
in the end she is bitter as gall,
sharp
as a double-edged sword.
5
Her
feet go down to death;
her
steps lead straight to the grave. A
6
She
gives no thought to the way of life;
her
paths are crooked, but she knows it not.
7
Now
then, my sons, listen to me;
do
not turn aside from what I say.
8
Keep
to a path far from her,
do
not go near the door of her house,
9
lest
you give your best strength to others
and
your years to one who is cruel,
10
lest
strangers feast on your wealth
and
your toil enrich another man's house.
11
At
the end of your life you will groan,
when
your flesh and body are spent.
12
You
will say, "How I hated discipline!
How
my heart spurned correction!
13
I
would not obey my teachers
or
listen to my instructors.
14
I
have come to the brink of utter ruin
in
the midst of the whole assembly."
15
Drink
water from your own cistern,
running
water from your own well.
16
Should
your springs overflow in the streets,
your
streams of water in the public squares?
17
Let
them be yours alone, [10]
never
to be shared with strangers.
18
May
your fountain be blessed,
and
may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.
19
A
loving doe, a graceful deer--
may
her breasts satisfy you always,
may
you ever be captivated by her love.
20
Why
be captivated, my son, by an adulteress?
Why
embrace the bosom of another man's wife?
21
For
a man's ways are in full view of the LORD,
and
he examines all his paths.
22
The
evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him;
the
cords of his sin hold him fast.
23
He
will die for lack of discipline,
led
astray by his own great folly. [11]
OLD
TESTAMENT: ZECHARIAH 8:1 - 23
8
1
Again
the word of the LORD Almighty came to me. 2 This is what the LORD
Almighty says: "I am very jealous for Zion; I am
burning with jealousy for her."
3
This
is what the LORD says: "I will return to Zion and
dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the
mountain of the LORD Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain."
4
This
is what the LORD Almighty says: "Once again men and
women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with cane in
hand because of his age. 5
The city streets will be filled with boys
and girls playing there."
6
This
is what the LORD Almighty says: "It may seem marvelous
to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to
me?" declares the LORD Almighty.
7
This
is what the LORD Almighty says: "I will save my people
from the countries of the east and the west. 8 I will bring them
back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and
righteous to them as their God."
9
This
is what the LORD Almighty says: "You who now hear
these words spoken by the prophets who were there when the foundation was laid
for the house of the LORD Almighty, let your hands be strong so that the temple
may be built. 10 Before that time there were no wages for man or beast. No
one could go about his business safely because of his enemy, for I had turned
every man against his neighbor. 11
But now I will not deal with the remnant
of this people as I did in the past," declares the LORD Almighty.
12
"The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the
ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give
all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people.
13 As you
have been an object of cursing among the nations, O Judah and Israel, so will I
save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be
strong."
14
This
is what the LORD Almighty says: "Just as I had
determined to bring disaster upon you and showed no pity when your fathers
angered me," says the LORD Almighty, 15 "so now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and
Judah. Do not be afraid. 16
These are the things you are to do: Speak
the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your
courts; 17 do not plot evil against your neighbor, and do not love to
swear falsely. I hate all this," declares the LORD.
18
Again
the word of the LORD Almighty came to me. 19 This is what the LORD
Almighty says: "The fasts of the fourth, fifth,
seventh and tenth months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy
festivals for Judah. Therefore love truth and peace."
20
This
is what the LORD Almighty says: "Many peoples and the
inhabitants of many cities will yet come, 21 and the inhabitants
of one city will go to another and say, `Let us go at once to entreat the LORD
and seek the LORD Almighty. I myself am going.'
22 And
many peoples and powerful [12]
nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the LORD Almighty and to entreat
him."
23
This
is what the LORD Almighty says: "In those days ten men
from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his
robe and say, `Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with
you.'" [13]
NEW
TESTAMENT: REVELATIONS 16:1 -
21
16
1
Then
I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go, pour out the seven bowls of God's wrath on the
earth."
2
The
first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores
broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.
3
The
second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that
of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died.
4
The
third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they
became blood. 5 Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:
"You are just in these judgments,
you
who are and who were, the Holy One,
because
you have so judged;
6
for
they have shed the blood of your saints and prophets,
and
you have given them blood to drink as they deserve."
7 And I heard the altar respond:
"Yes, Lord God Almighty,
true
and just are your judgments."
8
The
fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to
scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat and
they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they
refused to repent and glorify him.
10
The
fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was
plunged into darkness. Men gnawed their tongues in agony 11 and
cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they
refused to repent of what they had done.
12
The
sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was
dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. 13 Then I
saw three evil A spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the
mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the
false prophet. 14 They are spirits of demons performing miraculous
signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the
battle on the great day of God Almighty.
15
"Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays
awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be
shamefully exposed." [14]
16
Then
they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called
Armageddon.
17
The
seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a
loud voice from the throne, saying, "It is
done!" 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings,
peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever
occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. 19
The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations
collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the
wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the
mountains could not be found. 21 From the sky huge hailstones of
about a hundred pounds each fell upon men. And they cursed God on account of the
plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible. [15]
